Mustafa Khattab – Ramadan Is Over Now What

So what do you say about someone

who took a whole month

to build a beautiful building,

putting down the

the, the, the basis for the house, the

foundations,

the walls, the roof,

the power, electricity,

the sewage system,

the wall system, and everything, finding some trees

and flowers, everything,

built a wall around the house for a

whole month,

fasting during the day because they didn't have

time to eat, and not getting enough sleep

at night.

Then after

the house was perfect and complete and everything,

this person,

he drove a bulldozer and destroyed the house.

So this is basically what people do with

the month of Ramadan. They make a lot

of Hasanat

throughout the month,

then after the month, they go back to

square 1, they fall off the wagon, and

they destroyed what they

built in the month of Ramadan. So they

lose their Hasanah

as if they didn't do anything in the

month of

So Ramadan is over. Know what? Are you

going back to put your,

your Quran on the shelf to be covered

with dust?

Then a year later, you will get a

shovel and try to dig it out from

the dust.

Is it what you will do?

Some of us, they will stop praying at

all. Nobody will some of them, they will

never pray again. And when Ramadan comes back,

they will start to pray again.

Some of us, they will go back to

smoking,

backbiting, and all that stuff

to lose the reward of our Ibada in

Ramadan.

So some people,

they do good all year long.

So in Ramadan, when Ramadan comes, they do

even more, they do even better,

hoping to get the reward of that month.

So this kind of people, this first group,

they live between hope and fear.

Hope that Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala will forgive

their sins, and fear that Allah Subhanahu wa

ta'ala will reject

their good deeds because there was no sincerity

in their actions.

When this verse was revealed, and those who

give what they give and do what they

do,

This verse talks about the people who do

all sorts of good deeds,

fasting, prayers,

charity, and so on and so forth, but

they're afraid that Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala will

not accept from them. So they are always

afraid. They try always to do better.

And the prophet salallahu alayhi wasalam said that

these are the successful ones.

When Ramadan comes, they become like angels, man.

They become angels.

But after Ramadan and before Ramadan, they are

monsters.

Okay? So in Ramadan, they start to pray

and fast and give charity and come to

salah every night.

Some people call them the Ramadan muslims.

Sheikh Uthman in Somali, he calls them Ramadhanis.

There are different names for them. And I

always

remind them

that those who worship Ramadan,

let them know that Ramadan is dead.

But those who worship Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala,

let them know that Allah is the living.

He is the eternal, never dies.

So the first sign that your good deeds

have been accepted in the month of Ramadan,

number 1, is that you have learned to

listen

from the month of Ramadan, and that is

taqwa.

Patience,

discipline,

generosity,

all these things we'll learn from the month

of Ramadan. Otherwise,

if you become like a minister

after the month of Ramadan, you backbite people,

you use fire language all the time, you

don't pray, you are you are bad to

people. So what did you learn from Ramadan?

What what did you learn?

Okay? So this is a proof that your

fasting is accepted.

prophet

says that the most beloved

deeds to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala are those

who are constant

even if they are very little.

You do them constantly even if they are

very small. So this is a sign that

your good deeds are accepted in the month

of Ramadan. That's Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.

And

Before Ramadan, they do the same things. In

Ramadan, after Ramadan, it doesn't mean anything to

them. Ramadan for Jib is just like June

or August. Okay? It's it's one of those

months

for these people who say, cry a lot

for your sins

and beg Allah

to forgive you. The prophet

gave a lot of importance to the month

of Ramadan and you're pretending like this month

is like any other month. So pray for

forgiveness and Allah

to forgive you.

So don't lose the reward of your good

deeds in Ramadan that you earned the hard

way, and don't lose your Hasanah the easy

way. And this is what Allah, Subhanahu Wa

Ta'ala, meant

in Surah Al Nah, the b, chapter 16

verse 92.

Don't be like the one who makes or

weaves a nice garment, then when the garment

is ready to use

and is very nice, very beautiful, this person

tears it up.

And this is just like the example of

the house and the bulldozer we we mentioned

at the beginning.

So if you send here and there after

Ramadan, this would not hurt you because you

already have a lot in your account.

So don't listen to the whispering of the

shaitan.

Try to keep up the good work after

the month of Ramadan.

6 days from the month of Shawwal, this

month. They will give that a one for

fasting the whole month.

What about praying a couple of at night

before you sleep? Just like what we used

to do in Ramadan in Taraweeh Atahat.

Just 2 and 1 which.

So this is one example of keeping up

the good work after Ramadan. What about charity?

Being generous to people, the things we learned

from Ramadan.

Reciting the Quran.

Even if you don't have time to sit

and read,

what about just listening to the Quran on

the way to the Walmart or the Superstore?

What about listening to the Quran on your

way to work?

10 minutes, 5 minutes, just something. If you

listen to the Quran for 5 minutes every

day, you will finish the whole Quran in

a few months or a few yeah, in

a few months. The whole Quran,

all it takes is a few minutes every

day.
