AI: Summary ©
The importance of trusting Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala is discussed, including the belief that he is the only one who can help and the punishment of those who refuse to help. The speaker also discusses the reasons for the belief that Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala is the only one who can help, including his control over biology and physics laws and the conflicting claims about the birth of a man and a woman. I bear witness that there is none worthy
of our worship except Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
And I bear witness that Muhammad Sallallahu Wa
Ta'ala is the seal of the prophets
So sometimes, some of the brothers and sisters,
they come to my office and they complain
because they have been through a lot of
hardships and difficulties,
or they complain that things have been very
tight for them.
Or some of them, they ask for a
fatwa to do something haram or sell something
haram because,
they are looking for this provision.
And I
remind them, put your trust in Allah
and don't complain to the people.
Imam al Qayin says, those who complain to
the people about Allah
Look what Allah is doing to me.
They don't know Allah, and they don't know
the people.
Imam Al Khaim says,
those who know Allah would never complain about
Him. And those who know the people, they
shouldn't complain to them. They can't help you
in any way.
So the meaning of tawakul, we're putting your
trust in Allah is
your heart relies completely on Allah
for bringing about something good or removing a
hardship.
And this is what we are called repeatedly
in the Quran and in the sunnah of
the prophet
That whoever puts his trust in Allah Subhanahu
Wa Ta'ala and is mindful of Allah Subhanahu
Wa Ta'ala and is doing what is right
and is is avoiding what is wrong, then
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala would take care of
this person
and open ways for him or her
beyond their comprehension.
And sufficient is Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala, as
a provider.
The prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam says, if
you put your trust in Allah
wholeheartedly
and properly,
then Allah
will provide for you just like He provides
for birds.
They go out in the morning with their
stomachs empty, and they come by the end
of the day with their bellies full.
So in the authentic hadith narrated by Abdullah
ibn Nasruw, may Allah be pleased with him,
he said that the prophet
said in Muslim Abi Dawood that whoever
is afflicted with a hardship,
then he puts his trust on the people,
they will let him down all the time.
But if you put your trust in Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala, then Allah will take good
care of you.
So putting
your trust in Allah is the only thing
or the first thing one of the first
things that the prophets
learned from Allah
This is the first training they get.
The ABC of prophethood
is to put your trust and rely on
Allah
If you look at the story of the
prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam,
he lost his father while he was in
the womb of his mother.
His mother died when he was 6 years
old. Then he lost his uncle, his grandfather.
Every time someone took care of him, died.
And the scholar said the reason is so
the prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam wouldn't say
father
or mother or uncle or grandpa,
but he will always say, oh, Allah. Help
me. And he will always ask Allah to
help him.
So Ibn Al Qayyim says
that you see this
concept of
putting the trust on Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
in the story of Adam and Yusuf Alaihi
Salam.
When Adam Alaihi
Salam wanted to live for eternity in paradise
or in Jannah,
and he ate from the tree.
And Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala told him, don't
go there. Eat from anything else except this
one. So the shaitan came to him and
said, if you want to live for eternity,
eat from this one.
So Adam, alaihis salam, put his trust on
the tree and not on the lord of
the tree to stay
eternally in paradise, and he was kicked out
immediately.
Also, in the story of Yusuf, Joseph, in
the Quran, in Surah Yusuf, When Yusuf alaihis
salam wanted to get out of prison
by getting a waspah
from the Saqi al Malik to go to
the king and tell him about Yusuf, so
he would get out of prison. What was
the punishment?
He stayed in jail for several years.
If only he said, oh, Allah, get me
out of here, he would have been taken
out of prison. But he put his trust
on the king and not on the king
of kings.
There are several reasons why you should put
your trust in Allah. Number 1, Allah
is the creator.
He is the provider. He is the sustainer.
He is the one who gives,
not other people.
And Allah
is not happy with you when you ask
the people who can afford helping you, and
he is the only one that can help,
but you don't ask him.
It's sala bifari
and Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, who will let
me yafluqul aspa'a,
why you said me good aspa'a.
The second reason Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is
the one who controls
the laws of this world.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala controls the laws of
biology
and physics and all these laws. But He
is not controlled by them.
So if Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala intends for
something to happen, it will happen
even if it is not logical for you.
And if Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
intends for something not to happen, it will
never happen even if,
you know,
it doesn't work that way. For example,
Firtasat
Ibrahim alaihis salam
al
So for example, if you look at the
story of Ibrahim Alaihi Salam,
when he was thrown into the fire,
the fire lost its ability to burn.
Bi'il milan.
In the story of Musa and his people,
Moses, when they were crossing the Red Sea,
the water lost its ability to drown.
In the story of Isma'il alayhi salaam and
his father, the story of the sacrifice,
The knife lost its ability to cut.
In the story of Jonah, Yunus alayhi salam,
when he was in the belly of the
whale for several days, the belly of the
whale lost its ability to digest.
I
will get the opposite.
In the story
of
The opposite, you will see in the story
of Aesah Alaihi Salam, Jesus.
Of course, we know for every human being
to be created and to develop into a
human being, you have to have a man
and a woman or a male factor and
a female factor.
So in the story of Isa, Jesus alaihi
sallam, the male factor is not there. He
has no father.
The opposite happened in the story of
John the Baptist, Yahya alaihi salam, and Isaac
Isha.
The the female factor is not there.
The mother of Yahya alaihi salam, she was
80 years old when she conceived him as
a baby.
What is more difficult than this is in
the story of Ashaq, Azzat alaihis salam. His
mother, Sarah
Sala, she was 90 years old when she
conceived him.
So,
basically, the lady got no eggs.
And I ain't talking about
monopos. I'm talking about monostop
completely.
You see what I'm saying?
So the female factor is not there. Why
is
more
miraculous
than these two examples is the case of
Adam alayhi salam? He had no father and
he had no mother.
If you fall sick, there's nothing wrong if
you go to the doctor and get some
medical assistance,
but you have to put in your your
head that Allah
is the one who gives you recovery,
not the doctor, not the medicine.
The doctor and the medicine is just a
means for Allah
to cure you.
If Allah
sends risk or provision for you through your
manager or boss at work,
Your boss is not the provider. He is
just the FedEx man.
He is just conveying
or giving you the money that was sent
to you by Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
A
man came to the prophet, sallallahu alaihi wa
sallam, and said, oh, prophet of Allah, when
it is time for prayer, when I go
to the Masjid, should I leave my camel
loose, or should I tie it and put
my trust on Allah? So the prophet
said, tie it and put your trust on
Allah.
So when you come to the masjid, don't
leave your car running outside with your keys
inside and say, I put my trust on
Allah.
Believe me, tomorrow morning it will be in
Toronto.
You have to put your trust on Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala.
And what is meant by this hadith is
you have to do your best and Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala will do the rest.
But if you remain idle, if you sit
in your house, and you say Allah is
the provider, Allah
helps only those who help themselves.
In conclusion, put your trust on Allah
Do your best, and Allah
will take care of the rest. Thus Allah
will take care of the rest.
