Mustafa Khattab – Our Love For Prophet Muhammad 1

I bear witness that there is none worthy
of our worship except Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
And I bear witness that Muhammad salallahu alayhi
wa sallam peace be upon him is the
Seer of the Prophets
and the Final Messenger to all of humanity.
Whoever Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala guides, there is
none to misguide, and whoever Allah Subhanahu Wa
Ta'ala leads astray, there is none to guide
aright.
So in this month of Rabbi Al Awal,
we commemorate
the birth of the Prophet SAW Alaihi Wasallam,
his life,
his achievements,
his character, and what we can learn from
him. Every one of us loves the Prophet
salallahu alaihi wa sallam. Every Muslim in this
world loves
Muhammad salallahu alaihi wa sallam.
Why do we love him?
And why he deserves our love? This will
be the topic for Jum'ah today inshallah. We
speak about the prophet salallahu alayhi wa sallam
all year long, and what we can learn
from him, but this month is also very
special, and we will focus
on the life of the Prophet because
we, as Muslims,
we need role models in our lives.
There's no role model in Islam better than
the Prophet SAW. And Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
says in the Quran,
In the life and example of Muhammad SAWSALLAH,
you have an excellent example, a role model
for all Muslims to follow.
So before we talk about
the love of Muhammad SAWSALLAH,
I will give a couple of examples of
how we love him.
We know
that many of us in this community,
and in Canada, and worldwide,
they name their children after Muhammad.
I'm not if if I ask you today,
how many Muhammad's in the room?
Probably half of you will raise their hands.
So we love Muhammad and we name our
children after him.
Statistically,
there are more than a 150,000,000
Muhammad's in the world.
Different spellings.
So people spell it with an o, some
people with a u, 1 m, 2 m,
ed, a d at the end. But Muhammad
is the most common name in the world.
Even in the UK, London. So the name
Muhammad comes ahead of John and Matthew and
other names. Because people love Muhammad salallahu alayhi
salallam. Yes. They named their children after different
prophets, Ibrahim,
Musa,
Yusuf,
Mariam alayhi salaam, but Muhammad salaam is number
1.
This is one of the ways Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala honored Muhammad salaam.
There was an imam in the US, his
name was Muhammad Al Asher.
He was an imam there.
So one time another imam asked him,
what is the meaning of Al Asher? Is
Al Asher your last name?
So he said, no Arashar is my number.
He came from Africa. He said, because every
single man in the family is named Muhammad.
So my father is Muhammad,
my grandfather is Muhammad, my older brother is
Muhammad, my younger brother is Muhammad.
So how do we identify ourselves? By numbers.
Muhammad the first, Muhammad the 7th,
my cousins, my nephew, everyone is called Muhammad
in the family. And I've seen this with
my own eyes. In the village, I've seen
Muhammad,
the son of Muhammad, the son of Muhammad,
the son of Muhammad. People love Muhammad salallahu
alayhi wa sallam. They name their children after
him.
What is unique about this, if you read
in the Quran,
where Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala says,
one generation he will be forgotten.
Gone.
14, 15 centuries later,
there are more than a 150,000,000
Muhammad's in the world. Have you ever heard
of someone called Al Asif Nua'il?
Anytime in history. Khalas, after he died, no
one remembers his name. You only see him
in the books of history or the books
of Sila, but no one carries his name.
A 150,000,000
Muhammad. So this is the way Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala honored
the mention of Muhammad salallahu alayhi wa sallam.
So even among those who don't pray,
I'm talking about Muslims,
and they don't follow the sunnah of the
Prophet They don't pray, they don't fast.
If the name of the Prophet
is abused in front of them, they feel
offended, and they try to honor the Prophet
out of love for him, although they don't
follow his example.
So the reason why we love the Prophet
SAW Alaihi Wasallam because we're commanded to.
In the Sunnah of the Prophet SAW Alaihi
Wasallam,
So the Prophet says
in this hadith in Bukhari and Muslim, None
of you will truly believe
until you love Me
more than you love your children,
your parents, and all of mankind.
And this is in Bukhari and Muslim. So
we are commanded
we are commanded to love the Prophet
Number 2,
because He deserves our love.
So we love Him because He deserves to
be loved.
Any good thing that you do in this
world, if you give charity,
if you stay away from haram,
if you fast Ramadan, if you pray, if
you honor your parents, if you don't drink,
if you don't date,
if you don't do drugs, if you stay
away from all the haram, and you do
all the good and virtuous things, this is
because of Him. He is the one who
taught us to do this.
And all the Hasanah you are getting day
and night,
by reading Quran, by giving salakah, by making
wudu, by making salah, honoring your parents, being
good to your wife or husband, taking care
of your kids. This is all because of
him. He is the one who taught us
in the Quran and in the sunnah
Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam. Number 3.
As Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says in Surah
and Biya, Surah 21,
the prophet salallahu alaihi wa sallam was sent
as a mercy to the whole world.
So the Prophet salallahu alaihi wa sallam came
as a mercy to Muslims.
He came as a mercy to Kavers,
to non Muslims.
He came as a mercy to even animals,
and birds, and everything that exists in this
world, and maybe this will be the topic
in next Jum'ah, inshaAllah. So the Prophet was
sent
as a mercy to this whole world.
We love the Prophet
because of his honesty.
Even before he became a prophet, everyone loved
him because he was honest.
This is what they call him.
You imagine
before Islam,
or after Islam,
when Abu Jahb, and Abu Allahab, and Abu
Sufyan,
before he became Muslim,
if they had something of value, gold or
silver, something of value,
They didn't trust each other
because there's something precious.
Yes, we hang out everyday,
and we are enemies of Muhammad, but when
it is time to trust
their valuables to someone, they chose Muhammad salallahu
alaihi wa sallam although he was their enemy
or they were his enemies.
Because they know that he was reliable and
he was honest salallahu alaihi wa sallam.
So in this authentic hadith and Bukhari a
Muslim,
when the son of the Prophet salawasalam Ibrahim
passed away, he was young.
So it so happened that there was a
solar eclipse, the sun was eclipsed.
So some of the sahaba, they didn't know.
So they said
that the the eclipse happened because the heavens,
the sky is sad because the son of
Muhammad salallahu alaihi wa sallam passed away.
So when the prophet salallahu alaihi wa sallam
heard this rumor,
he went to the mimba and he gave
off a bat and he said, the sun
and the moon are two signs of Allah.
They don't eclipse for anyone's life or death.
So when you see the eclipse, it makes
a lot. It has nothing to do with
my son. So now you can imagine if
someone like Musa'ilim Al Khaddab or some others
who claim to be prophets, if something like
this happened, they will be desperate to use
it as a proof for their prophethood.
But the prophet salallahu alaihi wa sallam distanced
himself from this because he didn't need another
proof because he had enough proof already for
his prophethood.
So we love him for his honesty.
We love the Prophet
because of his humility.
Yes,
he started from humble beginnings,
he was all by himself, then he started
to gain followers
1 by 1.
Eventually he had the largest following in Arabia
by the time of his death, so it
didn't matter before his mission and after his
mission he was humble.
Even when all the doors were opened to
him, and the money started to come to
him,
from right and from left, from zakah, from
this, from that. The Prophet was
telling the same,
So some people when they don't have anything,
Mashallah they're humble,
but as soon as
Allah gives them a position or he gives
them money,
they'll say, oh, who are you? Who are
you talking to? Do you know who I
am? This is how people think. But the
Prophet SAW wasalam was not like this, A
man came to him,
to talk to him about something,
and the man was shivering in front of
the Prophet was so honorable and charismatic,
the man was shaking in front of the
Prophet was so honest and charismatic, the man
was shaking in front of the Prophet and
the Prophet
said to him,
why are you doing this? Take it easy,
relax.
Don't do this.
I'm the son of a woman from Mecca
who used to eat all bread and all
meat. Like, very humble, very decent, like, so
take it easy, you know. Don't be overwhelmed
with all these emotions and you don't have
to shake. I'm a humble person and he
told the Sahaba when you see me coming
in
don't stand up for me.
He said, When I come, because he used
to come all the time for salaf, for
talk, for Every time they saw him they
wanted to stand up and he said, Woah,
woah, woah, relax. You don't have to stand
up every time you see me.
Some people back home like, If you don't
stand up,
or when you talk to them you don't
say, Alustaa azaduqtur, Abu Professor, Hujatizaman,
Nur al Islam.
Oh, you hate me, you don't like me,
you are jealous, you don't like me, come
on. And the Prophet said, I'm Ana Abdullah,
I'm the servant of Allah. This is how
you call me, I'm the servant of Allah.
So we love the Prophet
because of his humility.
When the Prophet
traveled with his Sahaba and it was time
for lunch,
someone would say, Okay, I'm gonna fix the
food,
I'm gonna prepare the goat or the food
for lunch, and someone will say, Well, I'm
gonna cook it, someone will say, I'm gonna
do this, and the Prophet would say, I'm
gonna collect the firewood for you.
You'll collect the firewood for them.
(5:5:5)
You don't have to do it, we can't
do it.
And the Prophet
said, I don't like the man who sits
in the shade, and orders people around like
a king and they work for him like
slaves. You are not my slaves. I'm one
of you.
The Sahaba loved the Prophet salallahu alaihi wa
sallam because he was one of them. They
were willing to sacrifice their life for them
because he was one of them.
He was not their slave master, he was
one of them. He was their brother.
He was the brother of everyone.
We
love
the Prophet salallahu alaihi wa sallam
because
of all the great things that Allah
honored him with.
We love the Prophet
because of his sincerity. We know in the
sunnah
that they used to come to him all
the time and offer him money and offer
him position. We'll make you our king.
We'll marry you the most beautiful woman. We'll
do this to you. And he said, no.
I have to complete my mission. I don't
worry too much about the sun, the moon,
the gold, the silver, and all that stuff.
Sometimes some people have
caffeine.
Ma'am, some people,
they advocate a mission or something,
and as soon as they receive the check-in
the mail,
they forget about the cause and they run
away. Khazee. They take the money, alhamdulillah, they
enjoy life, they don't worry too much about
it. And the Prophet
was dedicated to the mission, and he said,
I would sacrifice my life
to complete this mission. And the stories are
so many, and the hadith are so many.
Nuhib bin Nabi Yusala wa Salam Laa Wa
Ta'ala yuhib.
Well, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
men
Barahi bihabbatihi,
lill Nabi U SAW ASSAW
and Luafa Adikruf
Wa Ta'ala
So we love the Prophet because Allah Subhanahu
Wa Ta'ala loves him.
And we know from authentic hadith and also
by reading the Quran that Allah
honored him in this life and the next
life. And Allah
elevated his mention.
And Allah
gave him honors
even before he asked.
So Allah
We
elevated your mention.
So in this Hadith
in Ibn Jarir and Abu Yala,
Jibreel Alayhi Salaam came to the Prophet
and said, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is asking
you,
do you know how
do you know how we honored you, how
we elevated your mission?
So the Prophet
said, I have no clue.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
So Jibril alayhi salam said that Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala says,
whenever I am mentioned, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
is mentioned, you are mentioned with Me.
So in the last couple of months we
have given shahara to 15 people here in
Mississauga and in in downtown Toronto. 15 people.
Lahab. Lahab. And every time someone takes shahara,
what do they say? The key to entering
Islam, La ilaha illallah Muhammadur Rasulullah. So they
say, Allah is my Lord and Muhammad salallahu
alayhi wa sallam is my Prophet. When they
enter Islam, this is the first thing they
say,
when your son or daughter is born, the
first thing they hear,
In the Adhan everyday,
5 times,
There is not a single
minute
or I would say second
that goes by,
except that Azal is made somewhere in this
world. Every second or every minute the Adhan
is made and the name of Muhammad salallahu
alaihi wa sallam is mentioned.
We'll take a small example. If the Adhan
is made
in Buffalo,
New York,
12/25,
Shahuallaha
illa Allah,
Shahuallaha nah Muhammad alwassoon, hulu muhlah in the
Adhan and in the tongue.
By the time they Mu'adim there, you have
the, like, 100 or 1000 of Masjid there
in New York.
100, I should say.
They make Adhan all the time, in the
same minute, or there's 1 or 2 minutes
difference because it's a big state.
By the time they finish, you go to
Niagara Falls, the event is made because of
the time difference, one minute difference. By the
time they finish,
Saint Calvin's is making event. By the time
they finish Stoney Creek. By the time they
finish, Hamilton,
by the time they finish Burlington,
by the time they finish Oakville, by the
time they finish Mississauga,
by the time we finish
Toronto,
by the time they finish
Scarborough, and so on and so forth. There
is not a single minute or second that
goes by except there is a event somewhere
in the world, and the name of Muhammad
salaam is mentioned and elevated.
Waqqara.
Allah
says, If you want to obey Allah, obey
Muhammad
Whoever obeys Muhammad is actually obeying Allah
Allah
Allah elevated him
over all other Prophets. Yes, we respect all
Prophets. Every time the name of a Prophet
is mentioned, we say
But Allah
has the right
to elevate some Prophets over others.
We elevated some Prophets over others, and the
Prophet salaam was elevated
over all other Prophets. And there are so
many authentic Hadith, Fudr, Tu'alal, and Biya.
I was elevated over all other Prophets. Every
Prophet was sent to his own people.
Muhammad SAW Alaihi Wasallam came to all humanity.
So Musa, Isa, Ibrahim,
Nuhr in the Quran would say,
You call me, You call me, my people,
my people. And Muhammad SAW was saying, You
ayu hannas, O Humanity.
Kulya ayu hannasu innirasoolullah
hilaykum jamiyah
Say, O Humanity,
I'm the messenger of Allah to all of
you, everyone.
And this is part of honoring him, Muhammad
Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam.
The Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam completed his mission
and he was the most successful of all
prophets.
Although he was faced with more challenges than
any other prophet.
Eventually,
Nuh alaihi salam said, You Allah
destroy them.
Salih, You Allah destroy them.
Who would? You Allah destroy them.
Sho'aib
destroy them.
Muhammad Sa'asallam,
Umati
You Allah give Hidayah to my people, give
Hidayah to my Ummah. And he said every
Prophet had a Gua
which he used to give it to his
people, and I'm keeping my gua as a
shafa'ah for my ummah on the day of
judgment. Allahu Akbar.
In
the book of Michael Hart, he's an American
author, he's a Christian. He wrote a book,
And in that book,
he made a list of the 100 most
influential people in human history. And then although
he was a Christian,
he put Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wa sallam number
1 in the list. Ahead of Isa, ahead
of Musa,
and the other personalities in his book. And
he said, Yeah. Some will question my choice
of Muhammad Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam. Although I'm
not a follower of his, but he is
the only human being in history.
From the beginning of time to the end
of time who was successful on both the
religious and the secular levels.
He was successful
on all levels.
So, this is how a non Muslim spoke
about Muhammad salallahu alaihi wa sallam. The last
point for today,
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
Another way that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala honored
Muhammad
more than any other Prophet,
He offered him, He gave him
even before he asked.
So Musa alaihi wasalam, when he was
commissioned to teach the message, he said, You
Allah
uplift my heart
and make my task easy.
And Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, when Muhammad started
the message, Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala said to
him, Alan Nashlahalaka
Sabra, Have We not uplifted your heart already?
Even before you ask like Musa, we give
it to you even before you ask.
In the story of Ibrahim alaihis salam.
Waja'ali
alis sala alsudkim fil akhlim. You Allah
honor may mention in all
next generations.
And Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala said to Muhammad
salaam wa rafa'alaalaka
bikra. We already elevated your mention among all
peoples even before you ask.
In the story
of Ibrahim alaihis salam, he made dua to
Allah and said, You Allah,
You Allah, don't disgrace me.
Don't put me to shame on the Day
of Judgment.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is telling the Prophet
salallahu alayhi wa sallam, We will never disgrace
you in akhirah. We will honor you. We
will never put you to shame. So the
Prophets are making dua,
and Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala is giving the
answer to Muhammad
without him making the dua. He is giving
it to him.
Alhamdulillahirabilahalameen,
washaduallahuwahalameen,
washaduallahuwahalameen,
washaduallahuwahalameen.
We're honored to be the followers of Muhammad
SAW Alameen,
And it is always beautiful to listen to
the life and the seal of Muhammad Sallallahu
Alaihi Wasallam and try to emulate him and
copy his example and take him as a
role model. So inshaAllah we'll continue in the
next Khubba bi Allahu Wa Ta'ala. If you
want to prove your love to Muhammad salAllahu
alaihi wa sallam,
copy his example, teach your kids about him,
and try to follow his example. If you
truly love him, follow him. Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala when he speaks about Muhammad salAllahu alaihi
wa sallam
Those who believe in Muhammad and
they support him,
and they follow his example, they are the
successful ones. So Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says
it in the Quran,
if you love Muhammad
and follow his example. So we ask Allah
Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala,
and Yashmaanahu Bin Nabi Yusa'ala.
We ask Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala to honor
us and gather us together with Muhammad SAW
Alaihi wa SAW Alaihi wa SAWHIM We ask
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala to honor us and
gather us together with Muhammad SAWHIM Al Firdaus
Al Ala as we believed in him in
dunya without
