So inshallah, we'll be our discussion about Adar
al Afrah,
and we'll talk about Husnu Bhanibullah Wa'ur.
This is a discussion we started, last week.
And inshallah, we're gonna keep it short because
I know the sisters have their, dawah halakah
in the back, inshallah. So we don't want
to, to disturb them. So,
the governor of Al Marat Al Madia
Khawal Al Imam Al Qayyim Bayin Al Husnu
Vhan Walhurr.
So we, spoke about
what Imam Ibn Al Qayyim, Rahamalullah, said regarding
Husnu Vhan Nabiullahuwal.
So he said basically,
if you have this feeling, thinking well of
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala that will motivate you
to do better,
then this is.
But if it motivates
you to be lazy
and relax and do the haram thinking that
Allah will forgive you everything without doing any
effort or doing anything
to deserve the mercy of Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala, this is called,
delusion.
And Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says in the
Quran,
Do not let
the chief or the master deceiver or shaitan
deceive you regarding Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
We mentioned last time the hadith of the
prophet salawas wa sallam, it's an authentic hadith
where the prophet salawas wa sallam said,
do not let anyone of you die
without having this in
Allah thinking
that whatever,
you think Allah
is better than that. If you think that
Allah
will be generous to you, He will do
that. But if you think
that Allah
will not forgive you because your sins are
bigger than his mercy,
it's a totally different thing. And this is
something that the prophet
said 3 days before he passed away.
We gave the example of you for example,
going to, Steven,
not Harper,
the other guy, Justin Frodo.
And, you talk to him and and you
ask him for something and at the end
you say, you know what, I I don't
think you can help me. You don't have
the authority to help me.
Or you go to a king or someone
who is rich and you tell them,
yeah, you have the money but I think
you are poor, you are stingy, you will
not help me. What do you think they
will do? They will kick you out. They
will say, if you think I cannot help
you, why are you here?
Right?
So
It is the same thing with Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala. If you think that your mercy
is bigger than the if your sins are
bigger than the mercy of Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala,
then you shouldn't have any hope in him.
But whatever you do, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala's
mercy is bigger than your mistakes and your
sins. Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will forgive you
if you are sincere and you come back
to him and you acknowledge your mistakes, He
will forgive
you.
So in this hadith insha'a'b al imal alway
haqee
through Abdullah ibn Abbas, may Allah have mercy
on him and his father.
And the hadith is mentioned in tafsir al
nikafir.
So basically on the day of judgment,
there was a Muslim, he did some good
things and some bad things. So his bad
things were more than his good things. Right?
So Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will order him
to be taken to Jahannam
for punishment.
So the person, while we are taking him
to Jahannam, he will turn to Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala and say, you Allah,
this is not what I was thinking you
will do to me.
So Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will say, okay
what did you think of me? What did
you think that I will do to you?
So he said, you Allah my I
thought that you will,
overwhelm me with your mercy and give me
Jannah. So Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will say,
whatever you thought of me, I'm better than
that. And he will say, take him to
Jannah, Khalas. This because he thought well of
me that I'm going to,
forgive the mistakes that he did because he
was a believer.
He tried his best but he made mistakes.
We're all, you know, human and we make
mistakes all the time. Not because we are
bad Muslims
but because we are weak human beings. So
we make mistakes. No one is perfect except
Muhammad
and the prophets.
So
so again,
this is the biggest problem we have.
Is you are lazy, you are not doing
anything, you are always delaying salah or not
praying at all,
you don't do sunnah, you don't pray salaw
to sunnah,
this is the first step. Then after that
you combine salawat all the time, and after
some time you are too busy to pray
all the salawats, so you're gonna do only
2 of them, then eventually you're gonna stop
praying at all.
So when you pray 2 salawat only, say
for example you pray Fashla and and Asr,
your urur
delusion will tell you
there are millions of Muslims who don't pray
at all, you are better than them. So
this is urur.
You do not look at the people who
are less than you in iman, you should
always look up to those who are better
than you.
But some people interpreted the wrong way.
Kafi'i this
story,
one person,
they always settle for the lowest, they don't
look high.
So this person was traveling
because in his town he couldn't find find
work,
right?
So what happened, he was traveling to another
place to to look for a job.
So on the way it was hot so
he decided to go inside a cave
and, get some rest. So inside the cave
he saw
a blind
bird with a broken leg in the nest.
And he saw another bird bringing food to
that,
blind
bird with a broken leg.
So he looked at the 2 birds and
he said, this is a sign for me
that I should go back, stay in my
home and Allah will send someone to give
me food.
Right?
So
he went home and on the way he
passed by a scholar called Hatem al Assam.
He is one of the biggest, scholars. His
name was Hatem al Assam,
He was very wise, very good man. He
told him the story.
So Hadim
said, okay so you saw the 2 birds,
one of them is blind with a broken
leg, disabled.
The other one is working and bringing food
for this one, and you thought you should
be like the the the one staying in
the cave.
He said this is not the sign that
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is sending to you.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
wants you to be like the second bird.
The one that works and provides for those
who are needy. Why do you want to
be like the one with the broken leg?
You should be like the better one of
them. Right? So you shouldn't settle for the
lowest, you should always,
look up to do something good and to
be a good person.
Some people,
in the Quran, when Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
speaks about the kuffar,
According to the Quran it says that even
the kuffar,
they worship the aslam,
they are not grateful to Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala,
They make fun of the believers, but still
they think they will go to Jannah.
That even the kuffar,
they want to go to Jannah. They have
the hope that they will go to Jannah.
Empty hopes,
you have to have some qualifications and you
have to do your best to go to
Jannah.
Right? But if you are not doing your
best and you think you will be up
there with a siddiqeen, with shawada, with salihin,
you are fooling yourself.
Another thing,
some people because of,
this concept of al Ghur,
and they are not doing their best,
and they think that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
will shower them with His mercy for not
doing anything,
When you tell them, you should get ready
because you may go any time,
they tell you, I'm still young,
my family needs me,
my employer needs me, I'm paying my taxes,
I I can't die.
If you think you can't die,
you have to can because this is the
reality of things. Right? There's no such verb
in in English, you have to can, but
I I just made this up. People die
all the time just a couple of days
ago as I mentioned in the Khutba,
brother Junaid, Jamshid is, he was very popular
in Pakistan.
He used to be a singer. Allah gave
him a day back in 2004. He became
a day, and the plane crashed and and
he died. And he was only, I think
54 years old. And I've seen so many
people die at a very young age because
there is no age for death. Everyone dies,
little kids,
17 years old, 50 years old, 90 years
old, there's no time for for for you
to go. When Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala writes
for you to go, you will have to
go. Right?
Oh, but
you know if if I die,
the you know, my family will collapse,
my work will collapse,
stars and the sun and the moon are
going to start falling down from the sky
because the the whole universe would be in
chaos. It's going to be a disaster for
everything.
Right? Believe me nothing would happen because there
are people in history
who were more influential than you, a a
1000000000 times.
And people thought when they died that is
everything is gonna collapse and fall apart, and
nothing happened. Like when Muhammad salallahu alaihi wasallam
died, the sahaba were devastated,
then life goes on, life goes on. Because
this is the sunnah of this dunya that
everyone will go,
and Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala told Muhammad
himself in the Quran,
You Muhammad will die,
and everyone else will die, right? No eternity
in this dunya. This life is just a
test. You will go and everyone will die
and and they will go with you.
So forget about the, you know,
stars and the moon and everything is gonna
fall down and your family will collapse and
all these things. And your job, I mean
this is the best thing about
about
death that,
your employer will be happy. He will be
dancing in the street because he will get
a better guy, more qualified. He's gonna put
more more hours and get half of the
pay.
So your employer will wish that you died
So this is not gonna be a problem
for them. Your your your wife, maybe he's
gonna find someone else since you're married,
if there are some sisters there, maybe your
husband is gonna get married.
Life never stops. Life goes on.
So when it is your time to die,
you will just die.
So don't fall for this trap
of and delusion
thinking that you cannot die, life will be
destroyed because of you, and all that stuff.
Life will go on and, you know, someone
will get,
your employer will get someone else and and
your family will be fine. As soon as
you die, they will be fighting over your
money. They will totally forget about you. So
it's not a big deal for anyone. Right?
Life will go on as always.
So don't fall for this trap of delusion
and this big distraction that you are still
young, you are only 57 or 60 years
old. I say, my dad was 95 years
old when he passed away, inshallah, I'm gonna
live till that time and, maybe inshallah 5
minutes before I die I'm gonna go for
umrah, I'm gonna make tawba, pray in the
Haram and alluv.
You're you're I mean you're fooling yourself
because no one knows when this time will
come. You no one knows. Accidents happen all
the time. Heart attacks happen all People die
for no reason, right?
Allah subhanallah. You you never know. So don't
distract be distracted by this,
that you are better than other people, you
don't need to do any more,
or that you're going to live until a
certain age, or you will make dawba before
you die, or you cannot die because a
lot of people need you and so on
and so forth. I'm going to conclude with
this story inshallah in just, 2 minutes.
So the story
of a man
who was walking in the woods, he was
jogging inside the woods
and,
all of a sudden so of course it
was sunny,
the birds were singing and very good,
weather in the spring.
So he was walking in this beautiful
weather and the scenery and everything
and all of a sudden he saw a
lion
coming towards him. Maybe he was on a
safari in Kenya or something.
So the lion started to run after him
and the man was terrified. He said, I'm
doomed, I'm going to die.
He saw a whale bit in front of
him so he jumped inside the bit, inside
the well to save himself.
Inside the well there was a rope, so
he was hanging by the rope and the
lion was
looking from up there and the man was
terrified, he was trying to,
go down and down there he found an
anaconda with a big mouth. You know the
anaconda?
We call it the rock python or something,
a big huge snake.
He couldn't go up, he couldn't go down
because the line is up there and the
anaconda is down there. He was hanging by
the rope.
So he said, subhanAllah what I'm going to
do?
So what happened? He saw 2 mice
going up the rope.
He said, it can't get any worse than
this. A lion is up there, and the
anaconda is down there. What else can happen?
So the the 2 mice came up, one
of them was white, one was black, they
went up and they started to eat the
rope. So he's gonna fall inside the mouth
of the snake. Big problem. And he was
terrified.
So he wanted to escape death, so what
he did basically he started
to swing from one side to the other,
so he was hitting the wall of the
well this way and he went to the
other
in an effort to to save himself.
While he was doing this, he noticed that
there was some kind of liquid on the
wall of the well.
He tasted it, it turned out to be
honey.
There are wild bees,
they build their hive inside so he tasted
it. It's it was so sweet. So he
forgot about the lion, he forgot about the
snake, he forgot about the mice, and he
started to eat from the honey.
He started to eat from the honey to
his fill. He forgot about everything else.
Then he woke up from his dream, it
turned out to be a dream. So what
happened, he went to the Imam, Mawlana,
and he said okay what is the interpretation
of my dream? He said that the jungle
is this dunya,
and the lion is malakulmaut, he's always running
after you, and the well is the grave
with the anaconda,
and the honey is the delusion of this
dunya, the sweetness of this dunya. It is
something temporary and it distracts you from
the big picture, the reality of this world.
He said, what about the 2 mice? The
black one and the and the white
mouse. He said the 2 mice are
the day and night.
The more days and nights go by, the
closer you get to the end
of the journey that you are on. So
don't be distracted. We ask Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala to protect us from
and to give us a good ending of
our lives and to give us a good
ending of our lives. We ask Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala to give us sincerity in everything
we say and do.
