Mustafa Khattab – Muslim Manners 14 Gratitude I Ramadan 2012

So one of the qualities of a Muslim

is that he is grateful to Allah

for everything he or she has.

If you look at the Quran, Allah praised

Nuh alaihi salaam for being a grateful and

a thankful servant of Allah

Although

he spent 950

years making dua to his people and only

few accepted his message.

His son died as a kafir.

His wife died as a kafir, but still

he was grateful to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.

And the prophet as reported in Muslal Abi

Dawood, he used to ask Allah Subhanahu Wa

Ta'ala to help him to be grateful to

Allah because he himself

couldn't show enough

or sufficient gratitude and thanks to Allah Subhanahu

Wa Ta'ala without the help of of

Allah

So the first nirmah that you have in

life is you being a Muslim.

If you look at those who worship the

cow and those who worship the holy elephant

and those who worship mice and those who

worship fire and those who worship Izzah, and

those who worship Buddha, and those who even

worship the devil,

and those who are atheists.

So now you can appreciate the niramah of

Islam. And Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala calls Islam

in a namah the Surah Al Maidah. Today,

I have completed my favor upon you and

I chose Islam as your religion. So Islam

is a namah.

Also the namazoo of having a wife and

children

and also being healthy

and that Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala has given

you a good job and a decent life.

There are 1,000,000 in this world

who are jobless or they

have no job and they have no money

and they are not married. They don't have

kids. So if you are one of the

chosen few, you are one of the chosen

few in this world. So at least every

time

when you are sitting in your room by

yourself if you remember all these favors

make sujoon shukla to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala

and say Alhamdulillah.

Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says in the Quran.

Most of the people that they don't know

even the favors that they have.

The people in the village, they have never

been to school. They don't know what a

pancreas is. They don't know nothing about the

organs in their body. But Allah subhanahu wa

ta'ala put these organs in them and they

live, alhamdulillah, a decent life. And again, very

few are thankful to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.

So a friend of mine about 3 years

ago had to have a liver transplant

it cost him around a $100,000

and he passed away about a month later

so this is the liver, one organ. What

about the kidney? What about the eye,

the brain, and everything you have?

Isn't Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala?

Doesn't he deserve

to say thank you, Alhamdulillah,

Yani?

And, I remember

about 2 months ago when I first had

the, LASIK eye surgery I couldn't see for

for about, 2, about 2 weeks. It was

very blurry and this is one organ in

the body I couldn't function I couldn't see

even when I have to give the football.

I couldn't people were flying all over the

place. People were sitting on the wall to

me. This is what I saw when I

gave the football.

I remember

I was, going outside the Nasrin and

after a month or something we were planning

for a soccer tournament

and that was a top secret.

I one of the brothers, he's a Somali,

he's the captain of the team, he was

leaving with me and I told him come

I'm gonna tell you a secret about the

tournament but don't tell anyone. He opened the

door for me, I took him to my

ark. We walked for all the way to

the street and I was telling him all

the secrets about the tournament.

And when we reached the street almost close

to my house he was telling me why

why are you telling me all these secrets?

And I looked at him, he was not

the Somali brother, he was a Lebanese brother

very tall

and I

couldn't see and I was so embarrassed and

of course the secret was all over the

place

but anyway

Alhamdulillah
