Mustafa Khattab – Mistranslated Verses Of The Quran 2286 Part 2

This concept is in the Quran is, usually

mistranslated

where Allah

says Everyone

says that Allah does not burden a soul

beyond its ability.

The word

does not mean burden.

It means to assign or to require from

someone.

So the actual translation should be Allah does

not require of any soul more than what

it can afford or something beyond its ability.

Something like this.

If Allah

were to burden you,

we fast 1 month in the year which

is the month of Ramadan. If we were

to burden you, we would ask you to

fast the whole year. And Allah

asks us to, donate 2.5 percent in Zakah

or Sadakah. He's not asking 50% or 70%.

If he were to do that, that would

be actually burdening us.

We are required to pray 5 times a

day, not 70, not 100 times a day.

We're only required to pray 5 times a

day. So this is why the actual meaning

of the verse is Allah does not require

of any soul,

anything beyond their means or their ability. So

the word burden should be avoided in this

case.
