I bear witness that there is none worthy
of our worship except Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
And I bear witness that Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi
Wasallam Peace Be Upon Him is the seal
of the prophets and the final messenger,
to all of humanity.
Whomever Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala guides, there is
none to med guide. And whomever Allah Subhanahu
Wa Ta'ala leaves to go astray, there is
none to guide.
So every few days,
a brother or a sister dies and we
have Janazah for them and we pray for
them,
Then we take them all the way to
the graveyard. We stand by the grave and
we make dua for them.
And we remind those who are present about
death and about the grave and about after,
especially when we have some youth or or
when some youth pass away,
this is a very difficult time for everyone.
It's a very emotional moment.
Everybody's heart is broken. We think about Africa
and the next life. But as soon as
we get back to our homes,
we forget everything
completely as if we had no Janazah today.
The scholars say the word human being in
Arabic is
derived from the word forget.
And this is why we forget all the
time, so we need the reminder to be
reminded
all the time about the.
Also, the word
in Arabic
is taken from the word change.
And the reason is one day we remember,
the other day we forget, one day we
are grateful, one day we are ungrateful.
And the word
dunya, this world is taken from the word
which is
low because it pulls you down.
It always keeps you away
from the higher purpose or the grand purpose
of your existence in this life, which is
to worship Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala and get
ready for the athletes.
The word money,
ma'am in Arabic is derived from the word
maghir, which is to deviate.
Deviate because it always keeps you away from
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala. Work day and night,
sometimes you're you forget to thank Allah Subhanahu
Wa Ta'ala to offer your salah or you
completely forget about the next life.
The word
which is money also,
literally is derived from the word bankruptcy.
And the reason is they say, you collect
money from here and there. And when you
leave, you don't take a penny with you.
You go to Afra broke. The only thing
that will benefit you is your money.
Not your money. I'm sorry. Your good deeds
in this life. Unless you use your money
for salatah, then your money will benefit you,
of course. This is like someone who goes
to another country,
works for 60 or 70 years, he goes
to the or airport
with a 100 bags, and they tell him,
sorry, we are not allowed to take any
luggage with you. So you keep everything behind
you, and you go to the the plane
with nothing in your pockets, not even dim
bags. So this is what happens. You leave
everything behind.
So the scholars classify this your life in
this dunya and in the next life into
4 stages.
In the first one, you are lonely by
yourself. You are and
helpless.
And this is when you are in the
womb of your mother, in 3 layers of
darkness, as Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala says in
the Quran.
Then, you move out to a bigger state
with this which is this dunya.
Then you move again to another stage with
which in in that stage, you'll become lonely.
It's a very tiny place.
In 3 layers of darkness,
the shroud,
the grape, and the earth. Just like you
were in the womb of your mother. Then
after this one, you move to a bigger
one which is
and the next life.
Small, big, small, big.
Lonely with other people, lonely with other people.
So this is how it works.
So in the first stage, when you are
abating an embryo in the womb of the
mother,
you are completely dependent on Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala. You receive
your risk provision
from one source, and that is
from the blood of your mother.
K? From the umbilical cord.
Then Allah
at some certain point, as mentioned in the
hadith and Bukhari and Muslim, he will send
an angel to breathe the soul into you,
and the angel is commanded to write all
things,
your risk provision,
how old you will live, whether you will
die young or old,
and
the
your action in this life, what you will
do in that day at this certain time,
everything you will do in this dunya is
written down.
The number 4 Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala writes
or the agent writes, whether you will be
miserable in this dunya and go to the
this day in the afterah, or you will
live a happy life, a decent life in
this dunya in obedience to Allah Subhanahu Wa
Ta'ala, then you go to Jannah.
So this is what is written in there.
So
when this is cut off by birth, Allah,
subhanahu wa ta'ala, opens 2 doors for you,
the * of the mother when she nurses
you.
Then
when you are reared and you stop
being nursed by your mom, the 2 doors
are closed, then Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala, opens
100 of doors for you. So he says,
every time one door of risk is closed,
Allah opens 100 for you. So don't worry.
Your risk is guaranteed from Allah, subhanahu wa
So Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says that if
he hits you weak,
then you reach the top of the pyramid.
You're strong, and you come down weak again
when you become whole. So this is what
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala says in the Quran.
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala's list is coming down
to
So the third stage when we move into
the grave lonely, nobody will be with you.
And
you will be in that situation, and then
the hissad, the angels will come and they
will ask you. So Uthman ibn Haftan, every
time he stood by the grave, he would
cry until his beard becomes wet, covered with
tears.
So his friends would say, may Allah have
mercy on you. Every time you remember the
Jannah, the * the paradise, and the empire,
you don't cry. And when you remember this
hope, you start crying.
You break your heart from crying.
He tells them that the prophet sallallahu alaihi
wa sallam says that the grave is the
first stage
in the next life.
If this one is okay, then everything else
is a piece of cake. But if this
one is not okay, then you expect something
miserable to happen to you. Then he reminds
them of what the prophet says that I
have never seen anything more terrifying than a
grave. And this is what the prophet says.
So the next point is the grave will
squeeze everyone who is put in there, whether
this person is an obedient servant of Allah
or whether he is a disobedient. And the
prophet said,
in Musla,
nobody
will be
spared from this squeezing in the grave. And
if it was way for someone, it would
have been Saad al Muhal, the companion of
the prophet
The last thing that we'll talk about today
is the questioning in the grave.
So the last point today is the things
that you will be questioned about on the
grave.
The first thing you'll be asked about Allah
Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, and this is related to
knowledge in this dunya about the attributes of
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala and how to worship
and serve Him.
The second question is about your religion, Islam,
Iman al Hassan, and Halal al Haramaj.
This is the knowledge related to this question.
Number 3, you will ask about the prophet
and following his guidance, and this is why
you need to learn in this
So what you need to do is to
think of this dunya
as a bus stop.
You take the bus from one place to
the other and that's it. We're born,
then we'll move to the next life.
And the prophet
says, be in this dunya as if you
sat in the shade of a tree for
a few minutes as a traveler, then you
left to the next stage.
So the prophet
told Abdullah Muhammad in this within the hadith
in Bukhary. He put his hands on his
shoulder and said, listen, Abdullah Muhammad,
be in this dunya as a stranger or
a traveler. And this is what we spoke
about. So Abdullah al Muhammed used to say
after this hadith, when you wake up in
the morning,
don't wait or don't expect the coming of
the night.
And when it is dark at night, don't
expect to live till the morning, which means
get ready for moving to the next stage
all the time. If you think that you're
going to live in this dunya forever,
then you will lose the next one.
The last thing I wanna say, Alhamdulillah,
this week we're sending the pamphlet about the
Prophet SAW Salam
to the the the printing house, and it
will be mailed to all the homes in
Alberta, Insha'Allah. And I would like to thank
all the brothers and the sisters who contributed
to this great project.
And I call it the greatest dua project
in the history of Alberta. That's Allah Subhanahu
Wa Ta'ala. And it's
