Mustafa Khattab – Generosity the Quran

Find it on the title of every Quran.

Quran Wali Bukarim. A generous Quran. This is

the literal,

translation

So one of the reasons why the Quran

is called Al Kareem, the generous or the

noble because it came down from Al Kareem.

Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala. One one of those

attributes is Al Kareem.

And also, he came down with,

an angel who is Kareem, Hajibreel alayhi salaamu

wa Kareem.

And he came down to a prophet who

is Kareem,

and he came also to a nation, an

Ummah, that is Kareem.

Okay? So everything about the Quran is Kareem.

So one of the reasons why Al Quran

is called Al Kareem because it has no

contradictions,

no imperfection.

It is perfect, and this is why it

is called Al Kareem.

So how

number 1, you have to show respect to

the Quran. You have to honor the Quran.

Are there any Muslims who dishonor the Quran

and disrespect it? Of course, all the time.

Number 1, I'm gonna give a couple of

examples.

When you take an oath on the Quran

and you know for sure you are lying,

this is disrespectful

to the Quran, and this happens all the

time.

Sometimes you find yourself in a difficult situation

and the only way out is to make

a full, false oath on the Quran.

Okay. And the people come to me all

the time, you know, I was in this

difficult situation and I had to lie and

I put my hand on the Quran. I

I lied.

But I was not taking an oath on

the words, but I was talking the oath

on this empty,

margin of the page. I was not talking

about the words of Allah. I was talking

about the page and the ink.

Okay. If you take an oath on the

Quran, it's an oath. If you swear by

the words of Allah in the Quran, you

are making an oath by Allah. Don't play

games with Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.

And this happens all the time with a

lot of leaders back home. They take an

oath on the Quran when they assume the

office, when they come to office that they

will,

inshallah, be honest,

and they steal all the money. Send to

Switzerland. Send to London. Send to all these

countries.

Oh, I will protect my people from every

yeah, from every heart.

So when they asked him, okay, you swore

in the Quran that you protect your people

from outside aggression. He said, yes,

but I never said I'm not gonna kill

them myself. I'm not I will never allow

anyone from the outside to kill them, but

I'll kill them myself.

K? And I never made

an awesomeness. Okay?

So this is also a violation, and this

is also disrespectful

of the Quran.

When

the Quran is

When the Quran is recited, you have to

pay attention and show respect. And they say

this means the recitation in salaam.

How many times

you are standing in the salaam,

crying and thinking about all the ayes and

you hear all the crazy ringtones and you

feel like you're gonna dance with the phone.

Okay? This is disrespectful

to the club. Some

people, they stand up to pray salah to

sunnah in Jummah and other days, and people

stand in the back and they crack jokes

and they they laugh.

Okay? And sometimes, they they they pray second

jamaas outside. And I see this with my

own eyes. Some people come late. They stand

in in the line to pray salat al

jamaas. Some brothers, they stand in the back

and they crack jokes and the people can

hear the recitation of the imam. So this

is too much.

And it's a shame all by and I'm

not talking about anyone

that there are some people, including

Arabs, who can't even read the Quran. And

I'm not talking about Tajmid, by the way.

Okay. I'm talking about misreading the word in

a way that changes the meaning completely.

So if you are an Arab and you

can't read the Quran,

I really don't know what to say. Okay?

You have to track this what you need.

So if the Quran says, do things this

way, you have to follow what it says.

Do it this way. Do it this way.

Okay.

Are those who learn the Quran and read

it.

And the prophet,

SAW, ASSA, also says in the authentic Hadith,

they would go higher in rank in Jannah

based on the amount and the number of

source they memorized

and they were reading in this dulill.

brief story about that I work for those

who learn the Quran and teach it. One

of the scholars, I heard it from a

couple of scholars, they say, there was this

orphan

and his mother wanted him to learn the

Quran, to become a shayf,

a huja, Quran. So

she sent him to this far away shayf

in his village to learn from him a

long time ago. So he said that the

kid the kid went to the shayf and

asked him, please teach me Quran. I'm an

orphan, and, you know, I I want to

learn the Quran. So the sheikh told him,

I'm very busy. I have a lot of

students. I I can't give you any time.

You see, I I'm I'm eating while I'm

teaching because I don't have time.

The kid insisted, and he said, please, I

wanna learn Quran. So he said, well, I

can't. Maybe wait a few months until I

finish my with some of the students, and

he can come.

So the kid didn't leave. He didn't go

back to his mother, and he slept in

front of the house of the sheikh.

The next morning, he came to him, please

teach me Quran. He said, I can't. The

second night, he slept in front of the

house.

So the sheikh said, this kid is gonna

waste my time, and he's gonna stay in

front of my house forever. I'm gonna ask

him for something difficult, he cannot do it,

then he will leave.

So he said,

if you give me 10 golden pieces, 10

dinars, inshallah, I'm gonna teach you. And he

knew that this is impossible for a kid

like this to break.

So the kid got so frustrated,

and he left, and he said, I'm gonna

go to my mother. Even if we sell

the house, we can't pay this amount.

So on the way, he said

he was tired, and he slept under a

tree.

So the prophet

told him go back to the shayef and

tell him that the prophet

is ordering you to teach me Quran.

So the kid said, but

what if

what if he,

what if he if he said that I'm

making up this story? Give me a side.

I tell him.

So the prophet told him,

tell him,

say this word to him. Zumal and Zumal.

It's a word from the Quran means in

groups, in big numbers, in groups. Zumal and

Zumal.

So the kid went back to the shayef,

and he said, I had a vision, and

the prophet, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, is asking

you to teach me Quran. So the shayef

said, what is the sign? He said the

sign is Zumal and Zumal.

So they

shaved yeah. And they started to kiss the

hands and the head of the kid, and

he said, Shama, I'm gonna teach you Quran.

Sit down. Sit down. So the kid said,

what about Zumal and Zumal? What is this

word?

He said that I have been teaching Quran

for so many years.

And I'm not taking money from anyone. Okay?

The reason I told you this because I

wanted you to give me some time, but

I I was not going to take any

money from you.

So the prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam said

they would go to Jannah, Zumal, and Zumal

in groups. They will go in groups to
