And I bear witness that Muhammad sallallahu alaihi
wasallam
is the serial of the prophets and the
final messenger to all of humanity.
So today, inshallah, we'll talk briefly about some
of the good deeds that can be done
in this week of the month of the
hija.
And we ask Allah
to accept our good deeds, and to reward
us fully for them according to the best
of our intentions.
So the first act of worship
in the month of the hija, of course,
is pilgrimage, Hajj. And the prophet
says that the reward
for doing Hajj without rebelling other people
and being indecent in the Hajj, which means
you shouldn't raise your voice or act violently
violently toward people. You will come back the
same day you were born. Sit free.
And this is in Sahih al Bukhari
So the prophet
gives you
the good news that if you are not
able to go for Hajj because you're old,
because you are not physically or financially able
to, then you still can get the reward
for going to Hajj even without going to
Hajj. So the prophet
says in the Uzzan al Hadid al Sayyat
al Midi
that whoever prays faj in jama'ah, in congregation,
then sits to remember Allah
until sunrise,
then offers 2 rakas, this person will get
the reward for Hajj and Umrah. Complete.
And the prophet
says this 3 times. So this is the
good news.
So, technically, if you do this, you will
get the reward for Hajj and Umrah,
but you don't get the official title of
Hajj. So if you stay in the Masjid
after Fazl and you do this, don't ask
people to call you Hajj because you're not
a Hajj.
It is only
a reward.
So the second good deal that you can
do this week is fasting with the day
of Arafah, which will be tomorrow.
So you can offer
this day in fasting. And as the prophet
said in the Ufinti Hadid and Sahib Muslim
that fasting on this day will make up
for all the minor sins committed in the
past year and in the coming year.
We know in the sunnah that it is
this life to fast on Friday or Sunday
or Saturday on its own. The scholar
said except on the day of Arafah. So
the day of Arafah
comes on a Friday or a Saturday or
a Sunday, you can't fast it on its
own without having to fast a day before.
So you can fast tomorrow without having to
fast a day before.
The third good deal that you can do
in these days is to make takbir for
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala as mentioned in Surah
Al Hajj.
And the scholars say and this is based
on the sunnah that you start the takbir
from the day of Alpha, which is the
9th of the hija tomorrow
until the 4th day of the Eid, 13th,
until sunset.
So this will include the Saturday,
Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday until
sunset.
And this is the 3rd good deed that
you can do in these days.
So the 4th good deed that you can
do in these days is to go for
salatulay.
It's a salatulay.
Authenticated sunnah from the prophet
and Aisha alayllahu anha said in the illicit
hadith that everybody
everyone was asked to go for salatulayll,
including women and even the women who have
a monthly period or those who just delivered
a baby if they can't
go to witness
and to show everyone that the whole Muslim
community
is enjoying
So if someone misses salatul aid, they still
can make it up. So in this Eid
ul Haqqah, if you miss or if you
know someone who misses salatul 'Eid, they can
still do it on the day of Eid,
the second day, and the third day as
mentioned in the sunnah of the prophet sallallahu
alaihi wa sallam.
Muslims are encouraged to show happiness and joy
and to enjoy themselves and their families in
the day of Eid, especially the children.
Why?
Because we live in a non Muslim society.
And most of our kids, they go to
public schools. And they show and they see
their friends,
celebrating
Halloween and Christmas
and Thanksgiving
and Valentine's Day. So some of them said,
okay, my question.
Why are they having celebrations and holidays all
year long and we don't have ones? We
do have ones.
We have Eid al Fitr and Eid al
Agha. So make your kids happy in this
occasion. Give them gifts. Take them to places
and make them enjoy
these days to the fullest without going overboard.
We Muslims
are happy. We are joyous for the Eid,
and we have to show them Muslims too
that we are enjoying these occasions. And we
Muslims, we enjoy our life, and we're happy.
The
second thing regarding Na'id, take advantage of this
time
if you are not talking to one of
your Muslim brothers or sisters.
Especially your biological brothers and sisters. You are
by calling them, you are not talking to
them. So take advantage of this Eid to
call them up
or to communicate with him and, you know,
wish him a happy Eid to end the
boycott between you and your Muslim brother and
sister. So this is a good occasion. Take
advantage of it. We mentioned before that in
the sunnah, if you are not talking to
your Muslim brother for 3 days or more,
then Allah will
not accept your good deeds.
So make sure you end
this
enmity or whatever you have between you and
your Muslim brother or your sister during this
occasion, so Allah accept your good deed.
So the first good deal, and we conclude
with this inshallah, is to offer the Uqeer.
And this is an authentic sunnah from the
prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam if
you can afford it.
But if you can't,
then you shouldn't feel sorry because the prophet
himself
made
on your behalf.
And this is a great honor.
It is mentioned in the Sahih of Muslim
Al Imam Ahmad that the prophet
offered 2 rams.
You have to give the best you can
afford. And Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala, tells us
in the Quran in Surat Al Imran, you
will never achieve Taqwah,
which is the highest score of Islam, until
you give al in charity
from the best you can afford or from
from that which you like.
So when you give the
you have to choose the best.
And when you divide the animal, you keep
1 third for yourself, 1 third for your
neighbors and friends. Even if they are non
Muslims, you can still give the non Muslims
from the UHAY.
And the third one, to give to the
poor.
And this is how the UHAYA is divided
in the sunnah. Some people,
they keep the best part for themselves
and they give the junk to the poor.
They give them the legs, the head, the
inside of the animal, and they tell, okay.
They don't have nothing. If we give them
anything, they will eat.
You have to give the best because the
salafah with the ukhiyah goes to Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala first before it goes to the
faqir, to the poor.
So,
whenever she gave charity, she used to put
perfume or oil
perfume
on the money before she gave it to
charity. And when people ask, why did you
do this? She said, because the money
falls in the hands of Allah before it
falls in the hands of the people.
So the time to offer the ukhiyah is
right after until
the 4th day of Eid. And this will
be Sunday,
Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday until sunset.
Some people, especially back home, because there is
a so a shortage
of, people who slaughter the animals, the butchers,
so they offer the uttayyah
before salatulayyah.
And some of the butchers do this because
they are looking for the prophets,
p r o f I t, and they
are not following the prophet, p r o
p h e t.
So offer the utahya, inshallah, after salatulayim.
The last thing we mentioned,
So some people ask if I can't offer
the ukhaia here. Can I send the money
to another city or another country? Maybe they
need it more than we do here. Yes.
You can, and this is acceptable in the
sunnah. And it is done all the time
in the Hajj.
For the hadith and nah in the Hajj,
most of the people, they give their money
to institutions in Saudi Arabia, so they buy
the animals and offer them, and they distribute
the the, the meal to the meal.
That's Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
