Mustafa Khattab – Closer to Allah 8 Tawakkul In God We Trust Ramadan 2011

So today, inshallah, we'll continue our discussion about

how to get close and closer to Allah

in the month of Ramadan.

And one of the means that bring you

closer to Allah

is tawakkul.

And tawakkul is relying on Allah

and putting your trust

in Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.

So the prophet, salam,

used to make dua to Allah Subhanahu Wa

Ta'ala, after every salah that Allah Subhanahu Wa

Ta'ala will help him, will help the prophet,

salam, be grateful to Allah and will help

him to worship him in the right way

and to get close to him. You can

never get close to Allah, Subhanahu wa ta'ala,

on your own.

You have to ask Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala,

assistance

and support to bring you closer to himself.

This is the advice that the prophet sallallahu

alaihi wa sallam gave to Abdullah in Abbas,

and he was a little kid.

And he said, oh, young man,

I will teach you something.

If you want to ask something from someone,

the only one to ask is Allah Subhanahu

Wa Ta'ala. Don't ask humans.

And if you need any help, ask Allah

Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala. Don't ask humans.

So Allah

does is is mad at you, if this

is the right word to use. Allah Subhanahu

Wa Ta'ala is angry at you if you

don't ask him. You go and ask everyone

except Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, and he is

the only one who can help you.

Said

he said something wonderful. Look at the story

of Adam alayhi salam.

He wanted to stay in Jannah forever,

and he wanted to be eternal,

but he didn't depend and rely on Allah

Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala. He relied on the tree,

on the fruit of the tree. So what

happened? He was kicked out innocently.

He was looking for eternity,

but without depending on on Allah

So in the story of Yusuf, alaihis salaam,

when

Yusuf, alaihis salaam, wanted to get out of

prison very fast,

and he relied on the king of Egypt

at that time.

But he didn't rely on the King of

Kings.

So what happened?

He stayed for several

years, and this is what happened. If he

just said, oh, Allah,

get me out of here.

The doors will be open and he will

go out. But he relied on the king

and not on the king of

The family of the person who died in

Ramadan,

who had

or who had missed some days in Ramadan,

his family doesn't have to make up the

days for this person.

What? Children on the side, they will make

some trouble.

Yes. Again,

the children and some youth on the side,

they are making some trouble.

So make sure, inshallah, brothers and sisters, when

you bring your kids to Al Masjid, make

sure that you keep them under control.
