In the past few days, we're talking about
the generosity of the prophet sasoolam
and the sahabah.
And tomorrow is your chance to show your
generosity to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and to
this mission.
You know that in Canada, in America, in
Europe and elsewhere,
most of the masajid, they fundraise
during the night of late Qadush, the the
27th night of Ramadan.
And we know that the reward for your
with these are multiplied in this month. For
masajid in these countries, they rely heavily
on the donations
that these masajid get on these days.
So the first thing that the prophet
did in Madinah after his hijrah was to
build a masjid in Madir, Masjid Qubal.
And we know that the life of Muslims
at the time of the Prophet SAW Alaihi
Wasallam centered around the masjid. If someone like
one was born, they would bring him to
the masjid or her to the masjid, so
the prophet SAW Alaihi Wasallam would bless the
baby.
And,
at the end of somebody's life, during the
lifetime of the prophet SAW Alaihi Wasallam, if
someone died, they brought him to the masjid,
so the Prophet SAW Alaihi Wasallam would pray
and ask for them. And between the birth
and the death, the life of Muslims
was very connected
to the Masal during the time of the
Prophet SAW Alaihi Wasallam.
We have so many services going on in
the Masjid. Some people think, okay, I got
to the Masjid, I make gulu, I pray,
I leave. But there are so many services
going on in the Masjid that many of
us, they don't know about. Educational
services,
Dawah services,
counseling services, and so on and so forth.
The same is also true for our masjid.
If someone is born, many of the time
they bring the baby or they make aqiqah
for the baby in our masjid. Tonight, we
have like 3 4 aqiqahs at the same
time. If someone gets married, they come to
the iman to marry them. If someone dies,
they bring them to the Masjid. If someone
has a fight with his wife, they come
to the Masjid for counseling, and so on
and so forth. We have all these services
in the Masjid.
Masjid.
The masajid of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala are
to be maintained
by those who believe in Allah. And the
last day, those who pray and they give
the charity, the Zakah. And those who are
afraid of none except Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala,
they are the ones who are truly guided.
So this is the meaning of this ayah,
the word maintain in this verse. Those who
maintain the masala are the ones who truly
believe in Allah in the last day. And
they are the ones who are truly guided.
So the word maintain in the ayah means
2 things,
to provide for the masjid
and financially, and also to come frequently to
the masjid and pray in the masjid. These
are the two meanings. So Allah Subhanahu Wa
Ta'ala promises that the ones who,
the ones who provide for the masjid are
the ones who are truly guided, and they
are the ones who truly believe in Allah
Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala in the last day.
Sadakat is a proof of your sincerity to
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala and the level of
your faith.
So the Prophet SAW Alaihi Wasallam
did fundraising
several times in his lifetime, and he fundraised
for the Masjid, his Masjid.
So one time the masjid got so small
for the people, the number of Muslims was
increasing. So the prophet said that the masjid
is getting too small for people.
Who would expand the masjid by adding the
land or annexing the land next to it?
And Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala will give you
a similar land in Jannah. So Uthman ibn
Affan Radillahu Wa A'hu came and he bought
the land.
In another example,
In another occasion, and there are so many
other occasions, the Prophet SAW Alaihi Wasallam was
fundraising
to arm the Muslim army to defend Hadid.
So that was a very tight year for
everyone.
So the Prophet
said, who would arm the Muslim army and
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala would provide for you?
So Umar al Khattab radiallahu alam brought something?
Umar and Abu Bakr, everyone brought everything they
could afford.
Uthman al Nafan radiallahu anhu brought a 1,000
pieces of gold, and he put them on
the lap of the prophet, salaam, so the
prophet, salaam, took them and kissed them and
put them with his eyes. And I say,
whatever Uthman done after today, whatever Uthman does
after this day, nothing is gonna harm him.
He is going to judge the first class.
So whatever you give to Allah Subhanahu Wa
Ta'ala, if you give a dollar, you'll get
$700.
Fat, tomorrow, insha'Allah, I expect everyone in the
community
to provide for the house of Allah Subhanahu
Wa Ta'ala. This is your house.
This is your member, and this is your
masjid, and this is your imam.
So provide for this masjid. I'm expecting every
brother and every sister to give something to
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, and this is what
will remain for you in Asherah.
This is what will remain for you in
Asura. Everything that that you spend for shopping,
the clothes you buy, the food you eat,
everything will be begun.
The only thing that will be left to
you in Jannah is what you give to
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala in this life. I
expect children,
boys and girls to come tomorrow and give
to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala. We have to
teach them.
So Aisha radhiallahu anha used to put perfume
on the money before giving it to the
poor. And when she was asked about this,
she said that the money that I give
in charity falls in the hands of Allah
Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala before it goes to the
hands of the poor. So
was can someone give zakah by installments? Say,
for example, you have your your money in
in a bank in another country, and you
couldn't give out all the money in one
shot, like $30,000.
Can you give by installments?
So the scholars say, if you're paying the
zakah in advance, of course, you can do
it. If the zakah is late
and you cannot pay it, like, one shot,
then what can you do? This is your
best. You can pay it by installments, and
Allah
will reward you for
your zakat.
The winner for today is brother Abdul Rahim
Ali. Abdul
Rahim Ali.
So I have a question for tomorrow.
A question for tomorrow.
If you owe someone debt, say for example,
you have $10,000
in your savings account and you owe someone
$15,000.
The money you have, you can give Sagab
on
and you can give
pay your debt by installment. Say, for example,
you you pay back the debt 20, $50
a month. Can you give the zakat in
this case, or do you have to pay
your debt first?
