Today is the 20th

day of the month of Ramadan.

So some people,

they come for fresh every day in Ramadan,

although the night is very short. In the

wintertime, the night gets very long. You sleep

for, what, 17 hours? But still they don't

come.

Because for them, Ramadan is special.

Some people call them Ramadan Muslims, and I

don't like the name.

Some people, they quit doing evil in Ramadan.

They don't smoke.

They don't look at the Haram. They don't

listen to the Haram. They don't say the

Haram. So what is wrong if you keep

up the good work after Ramadan? Do you

do it exclusively for Ramadan?

Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is the Lord of

Ramadan, and He is the Lord of all

months.

If you do it only for Ramadan, don't

do it. If you do it,

nirabbil aarmeen for the sake of Allah subhanahu

wa ta'ala, then you have to do it

all year long.

You have to make tawbah to Allah Subhanahu

Wa'ala. If you delay in making tawbah, you

have also to make another tawbah for delay.

So you don't delay. If you intend to

do something good, you have to do it

right away. In the story of Kaab ibn

Malik,

radiAllahu anhu, the companion of the prophet sahabi,

the prophet sahabi started a campaign to protect

the Muslims at that time. So Kaab was

ready.

He was healthy.

He was rich. And he said, I will

go with the Prophet

but, inshallah, I will do it tonight after

tomorrow at 2:30 PM, the day after at

7 PM, and he never made it.

Then the prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam has

criticized him when he came back, and you

know the story. They were guikatib by Muslims

for some time until the verses in Surat

Tawbah were revealed.

The same is also true for not doing

something evil. If you want to quit something

like smoking,

why don't you do it right away? If

you are able to do it in Ramadan,

why don't you do it right after Ramadan?

Why do you have to wait for 2,

3 years after?

So don't do like this guy. He's a

singer in Egypt.

His name is Shaban,

and he, in a famous song in in

in Egypt, he was saying,

Insha'Allah, I will quit smoking,

and I'll be a changed man, not today,

but in January.

These are the lyrics of the song.

And sure enough, before January came, he was

imprisoned for smoking Hashish.

The question for yesterday was,

a woman has to observe 'iddah after divorce.

In some cases, in fift,

a man also has to observe 'iddah, which

means he is not allowed to get married

after divorcing his wife until the passing of

3 months, or in case his ex
