Mustafa Khattab – Closer to Allah 17 Hard Times 1 Ramadan 2011

So today's means to get closer to Allah

Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala is to be always pleased

with whatever Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala gives you

or takes from you.

Some people,

as Allah tells us in the Quran, when

He showers his bad deeds and his favors

and grays on them, they turn their backs

to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.

But if something bad happens to them, they

lose a beloved one, they fall sick, they

go to prison,

they have to take a surgery,

now they remember Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.

And as soon as they're covered,

and as soon as they bury their dead,

and as soon as they get money or

something, they forget

about Allah completely.

It may happen

Allah speaking in chapter 2 Surah Al Baqarah.

It may happen that you hate something

and it is good for you.

And it may happen that you love something

and it is bad for you. And Allah

knows and you don't know.

Some people they commit

a terrible sin if something bad happens to

them. Not only they are displeased with Allah

Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, but they complain to people.

Look what happened to me. I lost my

job, my son died, my dog died, look.

They complain to people about the conduct of

Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala. And

And if you know people, you will never

complain to them about Allah Subhanahu Waala

because Allah Subhanahu Waala is the Most forgiving

and He is the Most Merciful.

And the doctors told him, you we have

to cut off your foot, otherwise, the disease

will spread out to your body and you

will die.

He said, Alhamdulillah. It's not a problem.

Then they told him, we have to intoxicate

you first before we cut off your foot.

Otherwise you will die from the pain.

He said, how come you ask me

to drink something that will keep my mind

away from remembering Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala? I

will always remember Allah even if you cut

my foot. So they cut his foot off

in the salah, and he was remembering Allah

while they were cutting

off his foot. And he was saying, Alhamdulillah.

A few hours later, the same day, one

of his 2 sons fell off the roof

of the house and died.

So when the news came to him he

said, Alhamdulillah.

And he kept repeating Alhamdulillah, Ashupulillah, Alhamdulillah.

So people, they said,

what's wrong with you? Your son just died,

you lost one of your feet. Why why

are you why are you thanking him? What's

good? What's good? He said, I'm thanking Allah

because he gave me 2 feet, and he

took one of them, he could have taken

the 2.

And he gave me 2 sons, and he

only took 1 of them, he could have

taken the 2. So I'm grateful to Allah

for what he took, and I'm thankful thankful

for what he left.

So I'm all be thankful to Allah Subhanahu

Wa Ta'ala.

About the a pregnant sister who has to,

break her fast in Ramadan, what can she

do to make up for the day?

The answer is she would have to make

up the days after Ramadan,

and the this is the opinion of the

majority of the scholars. Some scholars and some

of the sahaba like Abdullah Abbas and Abdullah

Abu Muhammad, may Allah be pleased with them,

they said she may

give food to the poor in place of

this day. She doesn't have to fast. So

either way, she fasts, she makes up the

days, or she feeds a poor person for

every day, either way, both of them are

acceptable.

The question for today, the Prophet says,

arakaha in which Suratul Fatiha is not recited,

is not acceptable.

The Fatiha after he's done reciting Fatiha.

What what about your salah? Is this? Is

this rakah acceptable, or do you have to

recite Fatiha after he is done? Although he

recites the Surah of the Quran right after,

he doesn't give you time to recite Fatiha.

What should he do?
