Mustafa Khattab – Closer to Allah 16 Remembering Allah Ramadan 2011

So today's means to get closer to Allah

Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala is to always remember Allah

Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.

If you remember Allah

this would help you

to better get to know Allah

in this life and to be safe and

secure from the displeasure

and the wrath of Allah

in the life to come.

So when you just say one single word,

when you say Allah, o Allah,

one word,

This is an admission from you, a confession

that Allah exists,

that Allah is a liar, that Allah is

1, that Allah hears, that Allah sees, that

Allah responds

to to the dua.

Because, otherwise, if Allah doesn't exist, Allah is

not one, Allah is not there, how come

you make dua to him?

So this is an admission from you that

Allah

exists, and this is an admission of you,

of your conviction and belief in Allah's names

and attributes.

If you remember Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala in

this life, and you remember death,

and when you remember the grave,

and when you remember the questioning of the

angels, and when you remember the hellfire and

walking on the bridge, and when you remember

the punishment in the hellfire,

this will help you make your way

in this

life.

So when Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala,

numerates

His favors in Surah Al Rahman,

He always reminds us of His favors.

And also, there are some verses in this

particular surah that warns us against the hellfire

and the punishment and the anger and the

wrath and the displeasure of Allah

But how can this be enamor or favor

from

Allah Because you know what awaits you.

If you sin

in the next life, then you protect yourself

in this life, and you do the right

thing. So this is actually a fake, just

like walking on the or driving on the

highway.

If it says there is a rest area

or gas

ahead of you, this is a favor. And

if it also says that there is a

hole in the road where there is a

pump,

this is also a favor.

So showing you the good things and the

bad things on the way is a favor

from Allah subhanahu wa

ta'ala.

So this guy, this dude, he came to

Ibrahim Al Anwar and said, I'm up to

my ears in sin. And no matter how

much you tell me about twitting and about

being a nice guy, I'm gonna listen to

you. Okay?

So what I need from you is some

excuses

that will protect me from the punishment of

Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and will allow me

to do sins in this life.

So the first excuse,

Ibrahim ibn Adam says, if you want to

disobey Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and commit sins,

don't eat from the risk of Allah

Eat from the risk of somebody else. So

the message

Everything in this universe is is Allah's creation.

So he said, aren't you ashamed

to eat from the provisions, the rest of

Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala? And he

says, okay. It doesn't work.

What's next?

So the second excuse is if you want

to disobey Allah

don't live in His kingdom. Live somewhere else.

Wa Ta'ala. So he said, La Habakkal, everything

in this universe

is Allah's Kingdom. He said, aren't you ashamed

to live in the Kingdom of Allah Subhanahu

aren't you ashamed

that Allah
