Mustafa Khattab – Birth of the Prophet PBUH

I bear witness that there is none worthy

of our worship except Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.

And I bear witness that Muhammad Sallallahu Wa

Ta'ala is the seal of the prophets,

They try to follow his example, and they

would love to be with him in Jannah

in the next life. And they would love

to give his Shafaq.

And I'm gonna give a couple of examples

of how Muslims love the Prophet SAW.

If you love someone

dearly,

you give his name or her name to

your son.

The prophet

name, Muhammad, is the number one, the most

common name in the world. There are more

than a 150

million people who have the name Muhammad.

The name Muhammad is the most common

given

boy name in England

now as we speak.

So people love the prophet

and so they named their kids after Muhammad

sallallahu

alaihi

wa

sallam.

So people named their kids after the prophet

I met or I heard of a shaykh

in the US. His name was Mohammed the

10th.

So people thought that the 10th or an

is his last name. And when he was

asked about this, he said, an is not

my last name. It's my number.

My name is Mohammed. My father's name is

Mohammed. My grandfather's name is Mohammed. My great

grandfather is Mohammed.

My whole family is Mohammed.

So this is a sign of love for

the prophet

Some Muslims,

even if they are not practicing,

they don't pray. Okay. They don't care.

But say for example,

that the prophet, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam's name

is abused in front of them, they get

mad, and you see steam coming out of

their head, and they do something because they

love the prophet, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, even

if they don't follow him. So I think

this is a sign for the love of

the prophet, SAWSAW,

So why do we love the prophet

so much? The first reason is simply because

this is what we are commanded in Islam.

Loving the prophet

is a sign of your true imam.

The prophet

says in an authentic hadith, al Sahih al

Bukhari, and Muslim, none of you truly believes

until he loves me

more than he loves his son and his

father and the whole of humanity.

So you have to love the prophet sallallahu

alaihi wa sallam.

The second reason is every time you do

something good

or you avoid something bad,

stealing or lying or cheating or backbiting,

which is a good deed, then the prophet

will also get a reward for everything you

do

because you are doing it because of what

he taught us.

So this is the reason we love the

prophet salaam so

The third reason why we love the prophet

is because he came as a mercy to

all of humanity.

If you look in the seer of the

prophet

so closely,

you will see that the Prophet SAW Salam

came as a mercy

to Muslims,

to the Kuffar, and even to animals. And

maybe we'll give one footba, and show you

how the Prophet SAW Salam is a mercy

to Muslims and Kuffar and animals.

This coming Sunday,

some people will mark the birth of the

prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam. And of course,

the scholars disagree when the prophet salaam was

born. Many of them say he was born

on 12th of Rabi'i Al Awad, which is

this Sunday. Some people say he was born

some other time. But whether he was born

this month or any other month,

what is more important for us is to

follow his example. This is the most important

thing,

to follow the guidance of the prophet

As I said, the most important thing is

to follow the example of the prophet, sallallahu

alaihi wa sallam. As I said, the most

important thing is to follow the example of

the prophet, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, and follow

his sunnath.

You teach yourself

and your family how generous the Prophet was,

how modest and humble he was, how honest

he was,

how sincere and respectable he was, how kind

and courteous he was to people.

And you need to follow his example.

Is it from the sunnah that people go

to watch a soccer game?

And 75 or 77 of them died because

of this. Is this from the sunnah, man?

If you look at the victims

of this soccer game a couple of days

ago,

75

or 77 people died. They lost their lives,

and more than 300 people

wounded.

And this is more than the victims of

Ghazwah Badr, the Battle of Badr. 14 Muslims

died,

70 Kufar died.

So the number they outnumber the people who

died in the Battle of Badr.

Some of the parents,

they are living by themselves,

single,

because their kids

now they are married, they have their own

lives, they deserted their parents. So the parents,

they live

on their own, they live by themselves.

So I heard stories in our community and

elsewhere, most of the people, they don't know

about these stories, but we know as imams

that a father is living by himself, and

the father or the mother dies, and he

stayed dead dead in his apartment or her

apartment for a whole week or 10 days,

and nobody knows.

Then at some point, the kids realized, okay,

we haven't heard from our father in 3

months. Let's, give him a tweet

or send him a message on Facebook.

Aren't you ashamed

that when you are born, the whole family

is there for you to welcome you? But

when your father or mother dies, you are

not even there to say goodbye?

So what is it? What kind of gratitude

is this? You have to care about your

parents just like they care about you when

you you were young. This is from the

sunnah, from the akhlaq of Islam.

Islam

Is it from the sunnah that if someone

doubts the behavior of his single daughters, that

he goes ahead and kills them? There's no

such thing as honor killing Islam. We spoke

about this before and we said that this

is not the Tarism in Islam, and the

sunnah or the Sharia is not applied here,

so there's no such thing as honor killing.

We condemn what the brother did in Toronto.

He is not speaking for Islam, and he

deserves the punishment he got. Because this is

not the Islamic way.

Is it from the sunnah that the king

or the leader in our country's back home,

they abused people.

They abused their money. They violate their rights,

their blood, their honor, just to stay in

power for many years, 40 years, 30 years,

70 years. They build their thrones and the

castles on the bones and the skulls of

people. This is not from the sunnah.

So people differ

when the memory of the prophet sallallahu alaihi

wa sallam comes.

Some people say it is haram to give

a footbath or talk about the prophet sallallahu

alaihi wa sallam. This is one extreme.

The other extreme is some people they just,

they make and they go dancing in the

streets. Some people, they do, drugs in the

and I've seen this with my own eyes

back home.

Why are you dancing in the street because

the prophet

was born? Don't you know that he died

on the same day?

The Prophet SAW was born as most of

the scholars say on 12th or Rabi'i A1

in the year 571.

And he passed away

63 years later in the year

632.

So he technically, he died on the same

day. So why are you dancing in the

street? The prophet

died on that day too, so he shouldn't

be dancing. Right?

Some people

some people, they ask the prophet

to bring them benefit and to remove hardship

from them, and this is not acceptable.

If you want Allah

to remove hardship,

or to bring something good for you to

get married, or to get a job, or

to get a car, say, oh Allah.

Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is the one who

brings good and removes away hardship.

So the second mistake that some people do

is they over exalt the Prophet sallallahu alaihi

wa sallam.

We know that the Prophet sallallahu alaihi wa

sallam is the finest human being, and he

is the best. There is no question.

But don't raise him over what Allah

has already exalted him. So some people say

that the prophet knows

the unseen. He knows everything.

Even what is written in the

preserved tablet.

As some people say that the prophet

brings about good and removes hardship

or hardship.

The answer comes from the Quran. Surah Al

Arab, the highest verse 188.

The Prophet SAW Alaihi Wasallam says,

I don't or I can't harm or benefit

anyone,

and I don't know the unseen.

I'm just

someone who conveyed their message and awarded to

all people. So the Prophet SAW wasalam is

saying it in the Quran that I don't

know the unseen, and I can't help or

benefit or harm anyone.
