Mustafa Khattab – 8 Allahs Attributes AlMutakabbir I

Today inshallah we'll talk about one of the

qualities of Allah subhanahu wa'ala that is usually

misunderstood,

and this quality is al mutakabbir

We know that when someone among us is

called Mutakabbir, it's a very bad quality. It

means arrogant

Someone was looking down upon people and it's

not a good thing And we assume that

this quality,

because it shares the same root

word with the word takabbar or mutakabir

we think that the same applies to Allah

Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala but it is totally different.

So tomorrow inshaAllah I'm going to talk about

the meaning of the word mutakabir in relation

to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala Today inshaAllah I'm

going to talk about takabbur

among people.

So we know that the word takabbur,

or mutakabbur is not a good word, word

among human beings.

And the Prophet

SAW says,

If someone has,

an atom's weight of kibr will not go

to Jannah. So you have to humble yourself

to Allah

When I was young, and then I'm going

to salira,

salah,

So when I used to go to the

farm when I was young, I was a

young farmer,

I used to go to the fields and

think and reflect about the creation of Allah

Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala

and I realized

that if a, an ear of grain or

an ear of grain, subullahqam

if it has seeds,

if it has grain, it always lowers its

head like this, it's humbled because it has

something inside.

But if there was an ear that is

empty, it's always going out like this.

And I realized if a human being doesn't

have knowledge in their head, they will always

look down upon people, and they elevate themselves

falsely.

But if someone has knowledge, they humble themselves

with the people.

Sometimes you come across someone

and because of their knowledge, because of their

money, because of their family status, because of

where they came from,

you know, they don't treat you as equal

and sometimes we experience this even in Muslim

countries.

And they ask you, do you know who

I am? Do you know where I came

from?

And I say, well,

dust.

Because all of us came from dust. No

no no, I don't mean that. You mean

an egg and sperm? It's all in the

Quran, no no no, I mean the country,

you know? We're all from Adam and Eve,

man.

Whether you are white or Asian or African,

we came from the same father and the

same mother. When you go to the store,

the grocery store, and they have sections for

apples,

they put the green apples next to the

yellow apples, next to the red apples, they're

all called apples if you see the sign.

They're all apples. The color doesn't really matter.

So we shouldn't elevate ourselves and look down

upon the people because of something that is

not actually ours.

If you are proud because of your money,

it is not yours.

Allah can't take it away from you, He

took it from Ayub

If you are proud because of your family

status, He can take it away from you.

Your children, He can take them away. Your

health, He can take it away. Don't be

proud of something that is not actually yours.

But Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala has kibriyah because

whatever He claims is actually his.

So he has the right to have

kibriyah, not takabbur. Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.

When you look at the Quran, subhanAllah,

every time someone in the Quran

was proud because of something Allah Subhanahu Wa

Ta'ala destroyed them by that thing.

Now let's say for example, in the story

of Bir'aw,

Qala

Alayhis Salim wal Khum Misra wa'hadihil anharu tazhareemintakti

I'm not the Sovereign of Egypt, look at

those rivers running around my feet, all the

water that is running in my Kingdom. How

did he, how did he die?

By drowning water! Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala put

him to shame and He caused him to

drown, by the very thing that he was

proud of.

Shaitan in the story of Adam

when he refused to make sajat to Adam

and that was the first sin racism.

Racism he said I'm better than him why

should I make sajat to someone that I'm

better

better than him why should I make Sajjad

to him and he said to justify his

arrogance he said I'm better than him you

created me from fire

and him from dust or clay

and we know in the Quran

la amla anajahanamaminka

waminma mtabiaqabimu

ashma'in so shaitaan Allah told them in the

Quran you will go to jahannam

from the fire that you were created from

and you were proud of

I know I, I give talks to the

students from you know the Meggade Islamic Schools

and MashaAllah they ask very good questions.

So one question was if shaitan was made

of fire how can Allah punish it by

the fire?

And some of the Relema gave the answer

and they said, You're created from dust and

from water, if I sprinkle you with water

it's not going to hurt you, if I

sprinkle you with dust it's not going to

hurt you. But if I make a block

of clay

and I put it in the sun for

a couple of days and I hit you

with it, you will

die. And Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala will do

the same thing to shaitan, maybe shaitan was

created from

1,000 fahrenheit, he will put him in that

degree 1,000,000 fahrenheit

and he will melt in Jahannam.

So Allah now there is nothing impossible for

Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala. Look at the story

of Qarun,

he said

he was arrogant because of his palace and

because of his money. How did he die?

With his palace and money! So Allah Subhana

Wa Ta'la said fakhasafna

biuwabidarhi

We took him and his money,

and his palace and his money caused him

to die. So every time someone says Anna,

better or I'm

arrogant because of this Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala

punished them with it, the source of their

pride. And if you look Subhanu'Allah at the

Ambia and the Saliqun in the Quran, they

humble themselves.

They humble themselves you look at as I

mentioned the story

of Shaitan he said Ana Khaynu minu I'm

better than him

and you look at the story of Musa

Alaihis Salam

Khal Wa'akhih haroonhu wa'afsahumine

ni alisallam he said my brother haroon is

better than me he's more eloquent than me

and this is the thing about good people

they always humble themselves and they don't give

credit to themselves

so when it comes to Ibadah they say

other people pray better than me they give

more sadaqah than me I should do like

them I look up to them

and if they are asked about someone they

say, oh they are better than me, they

have more knowledge than me, they're close no,

they do better things than me, and this

is what helps them, aspire to be better

people and do more and work more.

I'm gonna conclude with this story and I

can't baba'al al Aniyah a long time ago

after the time of Sahaba and Tabi'in that

man was very rich he was a businessman

so he went to Makkah for the Hajj

and he had his servants and slaves and

everyone with him because he wanted to do

the Hajj. He said,

these people in the Haqq, they are not

my equal. He was from a royal family

or something, and he was a businessman, very

rich, because of his family status.

He said these people are not an equal,

kick them out. I want to do a

Haram

on my own. So he actually kicked them

out and the man was able to do

the Tawaf all by himself.

On his horse, not on feet on his

horse he kicked everyone out and he was

doing Tawaf on his horse and of course

he had the umbrellas overhead his head and

and the water and the soda and all

this stuff. 1 of the people who were

kicked out

he said Walaahi

7 years later

I was walking in the street and I

saw this man on the horse who was

doing tawaf all by himself he was sitting

there and he was begging people for food

and I said SubhanAllah what happened to you?

Fatha'ala

takabartu

fee ma'udrim yadawal dahu fee innas amam Allah

faa'aballanillah

He said, I was arrogant in a place

where people were humbling themselves before Allah in

the Haram, so Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala humbled

me and He put me into shame. So

we should always be humble every time we

think about, you know, ourselves as something always

remember we came from an egg and a

sperm, we came from dust and eventually would

be dust. We're not taking anything with

us. You Almul Qiyamah, they will not call

you doctor, professor, Ustad, Kabir Khajad, Nur Zamanalah.

They will just call you by your name,

and you're not taking your checkbooks with you,

you're not taking your car with you, nothing,

you're not taking anything with you. So humble

yourself before Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, wa minu

ta'ala, alillahi alfa. If you humble yourself before

Allah, He will elevate you, and He will

honor you. We'll continue tomorrow insha'Allah.

The question for last night was kind of,

difficult,

and, Brother Tooro, Habila'Allah,

he said he stayed up all night trying

to find the answer. He's our President,

but he stayed up all night. I hope

we give him the prize, he's gonna give

me a promotion or a raise or something.

JazaakAllah BarakAllah feeq Takbeer?

Waaq mashAllah So the answer is, in Surah

Baqarah, adwala Surah Fussulat,

it says that Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala created

the Earth, then He turned His attention to

the Heavens and He formed them into 7

Heavens.

In Surah Al Anza'at, it says the same

thing, it says Allah created the Earth first,

it's actually,

He created the heavens, wadahaal adabadaal He brought

out the water and everything. So in other

words Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala created the Earth,

then the Heavens,

then He turned His attention to the Earth

again and He brought out the water and

everything. So there are stages of creation, there

is no contradiction.

The reason for the contradiction,

as I noticed while I was working on

the translation of the clear Quran,

when you read the translation there are so

many contradictions in the translation because those who

translated they didn't understand the Arabi,

and they translated based on their understanding, and

this is why some non Muslims when they

read the translation they say Oh Allah made

a mistake there.

It is not the mistake of Allah, it's

the mistake of the translator, not Allah. If

you want to understand the Arabic, read the

Arabic, it will give you a better understanding.

The confusion in Surah An Naza'at a number

30,

They think Badavalika means after or then. It

doesn't mean that. The word Badavalik means

On top of that, it doesn't mean after.

So it doesn't mean an order of events.

This is very important. What is your proof?

Read Surah Noon Wa Ta'lam Wa Ta'alim

Maheen Mash. Ten qualities of that man, and

it says, Otulin

ba'adha'valikazanim.

Zaneem should be the first quality, but it

says Rotulim ba'adhavalikah.

Ba'adhavalikah here means as well or on top

of that. It doesn't mean an order of

events because if we put everything in order,

zaneem should be the first one, not the

last one.

We ask Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala to give

us the best of understanding inshaAllah. The question

in Surah Yusuf

Jaaalas Sikaayatafirahli

ahi He put the royal cup in, he

he slipped the royal cup, Yusuf He put

the royal cup in the luggage of his

brother Benjamin.

2 ayaat after, qaluunafkudu

soa al Malik were missing

It doesn't
