Can you hear me well in the back?
No. No. No? No.
Assalamu alaikum.
We'll try to fix it inshaAllah.
So,
tonight inshaAllah we'll talk about one of the
qualities of Allah
which is Al Kareem.
And Al Kareem is also one of the
names of Allah
that is always misunderstood.
When we say that someone is Kareem,
people think about it from a financial perspective,
that this person is generous,
but the word Kareem when it comes to
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, it doesn't only mean
generous.
It means Al Ghafoor, it means Al Kareem,
it means the 1, the Gracious,
it means the Forgiving.
So the word Kareem in the Arabic language
when it refers to Allah Subh'anaHu Wa Ta'la,
it means the one who has all the
beautiful attributes.
So it is not only about money.
When you look at our situation with Allah
Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, I like to give this
example, this analogy
to bring it to our attention. Now imagine
someone is taking care of you,
he's giving you everything you want. He gives
you a house,
He gives you a wife, He gives you
a salary, a car, and kids, everything you
have is coming from Him.
And all He is asking from you is
to say, Thank you.
Now with Allah
Everything you have,
everything that you are is coming from Him.
He is asking you, I'm your Lord, I'm
the one who created you, worship me, and
I provide for you, thank me.
He is the only one who has ever
made such claim. But subhanAllah, when you look
at humanity at large, there are more than
7,000,000,000 people in this world.
Some human beings, they worship other human beings,
some human beings worship animals,
some human beings worship stones, some human beings
worship shaitan, the Church of the Devil in
the US. Some people say that Allah doesn't
even exist, and so on and so forth.
The majority of human beings don't say you
are our Lord, they don't thank Him. Although,
he is the only one that has ever
made such claim. Aesla
never made such claim.
The cow, the elephant,
Buddha, none of them has ever made such
claim that I'm your Lord, worship me, I'll
provide for you, thank me.
The other thing is Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
out of his Karam,
He has showered you
with His favors and blessings,
those of which you know, and those of
which you don't know.
I know many people in my village, I've
never been to school in Egypt,
they don't know that they have something in
their body that is called banker Yass, or
a wartha,
or antenna. They don't know that these things
even exist,
but Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala is providing them
for you, even if you know they don't
even exist.
And a lot of people don't thank him,
and Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala is calling them
to thank him 5 times a day.
Come to thank me, to appreciate me. Rasulullah
Sallallahu Alaihi wa Salam used to pray at
night, and when he was asked why do
you have to pray until your feet were
swollen? Qal Afala Akunu Abdul Shakura. Should I
not be a grateful servant to Allah? So
the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi wa Salam used his
Ibadah as a way of saying thank you
to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
Now imagine if your dad
or your mom is calling you 5 times
to come or come here or bring me
something and you're not paying attention.
What would they do to you? Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala does the same thing every single
day. Haya al salat, haya al Falah, and
many people
don't acknowledge him, they don't believe he exists,
and they don't even thank him. And what
does he do? He gives them more time.
I'll give you more time.
If Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
were to punish you immediately
for your ingratitude
or for your sins,
not a single living being would have been
left on the face of this earth. Everything
would have been wiped out,
but Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala gives you more
time, maybe he will repent, give him more
time, give him more time,
and so on and so forth. And what
happens if you eventually come back to Allah
Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, whether you are a Muslim
who's not practicing, no salah, no fasting, nothing,
or a non Muslim who believes in shirk
and so on and so forth, as soon
as they come to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala,
not only will he forgive their sins,
Ubbatilullah
who say, He
will not only forgive your sins,
He will turn you all the bad deeds
that you committed your whole lives.
The drinking, and the drugs, and the dating,
and everything, will be turned into good deeds
for you.
And this is Al Kareem Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala. If you do something wrong,
or if you plan to do something wrong,
but you don't do it, he will give
you a hasanah, a good deed. But it
has to come from your own free will.
Like say for example, someone is going to
meet a girl in downtown Toronto, or someone
is going to rob a bank, a shor,
or a hearsay,
and their car broke down and they came
back.
There is no reward but because they didn't
do it on on their own free will.
Right? Because their circumstances were against
them. But if you do it for, like
you give a
haram things,
you give the reward.
And if you want to do something good,
like say for example, they're collecting funds from
masjid with a school, and you wanted to
give but you don't have the money.
He will give you the reward.
Yeah. This one. Yes. That's a subject.
Yes. Okay.
Okay.
So if you plan to do something good,
but you don't have the ability,
like you wish to go for Hajj, and
you don't have the money. Allah Subhanahu Wa
Ta'ala will give you the reward for your
niyyah.
If you want to donate money, you don't
have the money, Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala will
give you the money for your niyyah, even
without you paying.
And if you have the ability, say you
like to donate money for
Iftar here in the Masjid, and by the
way we still have so many days unsponsored
for iftar. If you like to sponsor talk
to brother Abdul Salam, JazakAllah
Badifasal Alalan.
So say for example you do a good
deed, you give Zakah, Sadaqa something.
He will give you 10 rewards,
700 and He will give you more. Which
bank in this world if you give them
$1 they give you 700.
It doesn't exist. Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is
Al Kareem.
And if you do something bad in this
dunya, and you make tawba before you die,
there's no question in the end.
And what does Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala This
is out of his karam.
He will give you money,
then he will send a fakir, a poor
person to take something from you. Give him
2.5%.
Say he gave you for example $1,000
and he's asking you to give him $25
and he will give you the reward 700%.
It is not your money, it is for
him. And he will send the faqir to
take from you and he will give you
the reward. He will give you sahathal
And you go and pray and He will
give you the reward. And this is Al
Kareem Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala. And out of
His Ka'am, and this is the last thing
Insha'Allah.
Out of His Ka'am,
every time He closes a door for you,
and you are patient, he will give you
more. And you say for example, Yakul Ibn
al Qayim
When you come out of your mother at
the time of birth,
you were reliant, you were dependent
on the umbilical cord.
One source of income for you.
So once this source of income is cut
off, he gives you 2 sources.
The breastfeeding,
two sides, right? And once this one is
over when you are weaned at the age
of 2, then so many doors are open
for you fruits, vegetables, meat, milk, eggs, everything.
And they say, SubhanAllah, all the way till
the end, when one door of dunya is
closed for you and you die, and they
close the Kaqr for you, this door is
closed. He opens the 8 gates of Jannah
for you. So every time one door is
closed, He opens many doors for you. So
don't lose confidence in Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
He is Al Karim.
And every time I come across this Ayahu
Allah, I'm untouched.
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala says You ayu al
insanu
Ma'ghar raka bi rabbi
al kaneem.
He said what has emboldened you against Allah?
You don't say thank you? You don't worship
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala? You don't thank Allah
enough for what He has given you? Is
it because He is Al Kareem?
He is the one who has been showering
you with all these things, and you have
been taking them for granted, and you turn
your back on Him, and you never say
thank you? Is it because He is Kareem
to you, you do this to him? He
doesn't deserve this treatment from you. And this
is a reminder of Al Kareem from the
Quran. Kareem will continue tomorrow inshaAllah. The question
from last night, if you read Surah Al
Fussilat,
If you read Surah Al Fusilat, of course
in the Quran Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala created
the heavens and the earth in 6, heavenly
days, not 24 hour thing, but heavenly days.
In Surah Fussilah, Surah 41 if you read
I add 9 to 12 they give you
the impression that they were created in 8
days. Because 2,
4 and 2 that's 8. But this is
not the way you understand it in Arabi.
Maybe if you read the English, Urdu, Turkish,
French, this is what you get from the
translation, but in the Arabi, this is how
it is understood.
I walk from Oakville to,
Scarborough in 6 hours.
So I walked from Oakville to Mississauga in
2 hours,
and I walked to Toronto in 4 hours
meaning from Oakville, not from Mississauga.
Then from Toronto till Scarborough in 2 hours.
So this is the meaning in Alavi, he
created the earth in 2 days, created everything
else on earth in 4 days, meaning from
the beginning,
then the heavens in 2 more days. So
the total is 6 and not 8. This
is the way it is understood in the
Alavi language.
The winner is sister Rufshanda
Yunus. Is there anyone here to take the
prize on your behalf?
Okay. Exactly, brother.
Are you sure?
So the question for tonight is,
complicated a little bit
and it says in Surah Maryam
You Uchta Harun
How can the mother of Gis alaihis salam
be the sister of Harun the brother of
Musa alaihis salam although he died 100 of
years before? How do you explain this? So
we ask Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala to warn
you for your Sabra and Salah and Payam
InshaAllah If you know the answer, you may
be before tomorrow Asad at imamustafat atalatuliasenter.ca8
