So as we mentioned last night that one
of the lessons of the month of Ramadan
is to be humbled with Allah Subhanahu Wa
Ta'ala.
Because as I said sometimes we feel we're
the center of the universe, and we are
the standard
by which we measure everything else.
So, as we mentioned, if you are driving,
and those who are slow,
and those who are driving fast, you measure
them by your own speed not by the
road signs.
And also when we have fundraisers,
so let's say if I'm going to donate
a $100
those who donate $10
I say they are very cheap.
And if someone decides to donate 5,000 I
say show off. Why? Because I set myself
as the standard.
And this is why there's always conflict when
people say,
it's too cold in here, and some one
other person in the same breath, oh, it's
too hot.
I read Aisha one day, someone comes to
fight with me after,
Haramariq,
ittakindah, it's too long.
And in the same salah, when I'm getting
my shoes someone will follow me, the salah
of Sushore Haramariq.
Like,
so people set themselves the standard and sometimes
you don't know what to do, really. Right?
So,
today inshallah is another lesson.
Usually I get this question a lot. Especially
when people are fasting in the month of
Ramadan,
and they are hungry, they mister Biryani, they
mister Khushari and shawarma, and all the good
stuff,
and they start to, to think about food
and to think about different things,
and the question comes,
why did Adam alaihis salam eat from that
tree? Because if he didn't,
we wouldn't be here suffering, paying GST,
and doing this, and doing that, and, you
know. People ask these questions. We shouldn't have
been here, we should have been in Jannah
now. We didn't have to worry about fasting
17 hours, praying 20 rakaatrawi
and this, waking up, you know, for work
in the morning, and suffering like this.
So there are a few things that we
should learn from the story of Adam alaihis
salam in the Quran.
Number 1, that Allah
decided that Adam is coming here
way before Adam alayhi salam himself was created.
So it is in Surah Baqarah the first
story in the Quran. Surah Baqarah aya number
30, where it's
So Allah
already decided that Adam alaihi wasalam was coming
here way before Adam alaihi wasalam was created,
way before the incident with shaitan and and
so on and so forth. Number 2, Adam
alaihis salam was warned against the tricks of
Shaitan.
And yes, Shaitan was not in Jannah. How
did he whisper to Adam alaihis salam in
Jannah?
Wirelessly.
He was outside Jannah and he was whispering
to him. The same way that Shaytan is
locked up these days, he's not with us,
but he is whispering to us from a
distance.
And this is why some people still cheat
and lie and commit zina and steal and
kill in the month of Ramadan. Why? Because
shaitan, yes, he is not there, but he
is whispering
told Adam don't eat from that tree,
not because the tree was poisonous or the
tree was gonna kill him. No. Allah
was testing his obedience.
In the same way Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
is testing us every day. He's telling us
you have millions of different types of food,
eat everything except pork.
Drink anything except alcohol. We are tested with
one item. Right? And so on and so
forth, so Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala will test
our obedience.
Now the question comes, and I hear this
from the school students all the time. Okay,
we get it. It's a test and so
on and so forth. Allah
has infinite knowledge.
Why did we have to come here? Because
He already knows that X is going to
Jannat,
Z is going to Jannat, end of story.
He knows. Why did he send us here?
If he already knows who is going to
Jahannan, who is going to Jahannan, right? It's
it's a logical question
So to answer this question we have to
look
at at this story So let's say for
example there are 2 two brothers
One of them is called Zayyan and the
other one is called Sahana.
So they move to a new school, they
have the report cards with them, they give
the report cards to the principal.
And the principal, by just looking at their
cards,
she looked up Zayyan, he is an excellent
student, straight A's in the last few years,
he's always doing his homework, he's an amazing
student,
and the other one, Saharan,
he never goes to school, he doesn't do
his homework, he's always fighting with the teachers,
he is a bad student.
So from my from day 1 in the
school year,
so the principal decided by just looking at
their their cards that we don't have to
wait till June to decide who is going
to pass and who is going to fail.
So from day 1, she told them that
Sayan is moving to the next year and
Sarhan is failing.
Now Sarhan is complaining,
and he said you didn't give me the
chance to prove myself,
and if you give me the time, Bafarajik,
if you give me the time, I'm gonna
show you that I'm better than Zayyan.
Right? So this is why Allah Subhanahu Wa
Ta'ala gave equal opportunities to people here in
this dunya. So let's say Allah created us,
and those who are going to Jannah, they
go straight to Jannah and those who are
going to Jahanam, they go straight to Jahanam
The people of Jahanam will complain you put
me in level 50 in Jannah because there
are a 100 levels in Jannah based on
Hadith and Muslim and other books of hadith.
So those who are going to level 50,
they say, Allah, I think I deserve level
99.
Give me the chance, I'm gonna prove to
you that I, you know, deserve a higher
rank in Jannah. And those who are going
to jahannam, they say,
no. I don't deserve to go to Jannah.
Give me the chance. Send me to Dunya.
Test me. I'm gonna show you that I
deserve to go to Jannah too. And this
is why Allah
gave us the opportunity to come here for
this test in Dunya,
fasting in Ramadan, zakah, sadaqah, siyam, namaz, Hajj,
so on and so forth. This is halal,
do it. This is halal, don't do it.
This is the test.
So now when we go back to Allah,
yamul qiyamah, for judgment,
no one will be in a position
to question Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala or challenge
him because you took your full opportunity,
and if you took advantage of it, alhamdulillah,
but if you ruined it, there's no one
to blame except yourself. And this is the
whole concept
test in this dunya.
We ask Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala to give
us Jannah, to firdos, Ameen al Ghani. The
question from last night, it talks about people
with white faces going to Jannah, people with
black faces going to Jahannam.
And this is based on some mistranslations
of the Quran.
The the word tabiabdahat as well here is
not in the sense of black and white.
And this these ayaat are explained at the
end of Abba Sawatawalla.
Mujuwwun You Maidin Musfira. Daahikatu Mustafshira.
Some faces will be bright, they would be
happy and joyful.
Some other faces would be miserable and covered
with shame. This is the meaning of the
ayah alidis explained in the Quran. Especially in
the Arabic culture, if you have 2 kids,
one of them,
succeeds and the other one fails, you know
what we tell them in Arabic?
The
one who succeeds,
you made my face bright, bayaltawajhi
and the other one, sawatawajhi
you
gave me a heart attack. Right? So this
is the it's used in a metaphorical sense
because a lot of people when they, they
read defected translations of the Quran, they say
look, it's racist. It talks about black and
white people. Bilal radiAllahu anhu was from Africa,
he was dark skinned, and he will be
among the kings of Jannah.
And Abu Jahan was a white man, and
he will be miserable in Jahannal. He doesn't
talk about white and black.
It's it's used in a metaphorical sense. Be
it the layta'ala
and, the winner is
What is the winner?
Yes, Rifa'aar. Brother Khalid Rifa'aar.
I thought you were on the way.
Let's say Yusuf alaihissalam, there are people before
him who had the name Yusuf.
Ibrahim alaihissalam, there were people before him who
have the name of Ibrahim. Muhammad sallallahu alaihissalam,
there were people before him in Arabia, at
least 3, 4 people according to historians, who
have the name Muhammad.
There's only 1 prophet in the Quran who
is told that your name was never given
to anyone before you. There's 1 prophet. So
if you know the answer of this prophet
that no one had this name before, email
me before tomorrow as at [email protected].
Okay.
Alright.
