And it seems like just yesterday that my family and I celebrated Eve after last year's Ramadan time is like quicksand. But moving on. Now some of you
might have heard that Muslim left, Beckett's has recently launched the Dean's list. The Dean's list, which stands for daily magnetizing also notifications. life hackers.com slash Dean's list and I've also linked to the Dean's list in our show notes for you guys to find later on. Alright, so let's get started on this week's podcast. As you guys know today's podcast is on reevaluating, slash reworking your life this Ramadan, you may be wondering why Ramadan? Wouldn't it make more sense to reevaluate your life at the beginning of the year? Perhaps Actually, there is an important reason behind me wanting to talk about this topic at this time of our lives, as opposed to any other month. And the reason is that there is no better way to bring change into our lives than to connect with the one who brings change the one being our Lord Allah
and what better time to connect with a lot than in Ramadan. Ramadan is the month of Qur'an of those with the doors to heaven open and the doors to Hellfire are closed is the month of mercy for sure. Okay, storytime now a little while before Ramadan started while everyone was still like being busy bees preparing for the month and getting hyped up. I was I had a conversation with a friend of mine and she was just remarking on how fast it seems that the month of Ramadan had has come upon us again. And she she was like she was um, she was pregnant. You know, Allah, Allah Subhana Allah would give her life to see the month and live it through. And at the time, what we'll have in the
conversation must have been like a few days to Ramadan started Also, my friend she she wanted to comment on how she even knew some people who arrived last Ramadan. But we're not here to witness this Ramadan, meaning that they had passed away. And that point actually really got me thinking because even I could comment on how I knew people who are alive to witness last year's Ramadan, but I'm glad that they're no longer with us today, we'll finish our conversations and we went our separate ways. And social conversation and what we had said it just kept playing in my head. And I thought to myself, you know, wow, you and I, we really, really truly do not know when our time will
come when our time ends. When our time is up, whether we a young or old, there is really no guarantee there is no guarantee that we will live to see our hair turned gray or get married and have kids and get the get the lot and even honestly, after I finished recording this podcast, my time could be up super well and chill out. No one has given me long life. I mean, but that's the cold, hard truth. And so I came to the concluding question, you know, after like pondering my conversation with my friend and I thought to myself, and I thought to myself, you know, what am I doing with my life? Like, really? What am I doing? And I thought, you know, this is just ridiculous.
I really need to take a really good look at what I'm doing and where I want to head inshallah. And I wouldn't be using the month of Ramadan with all of us Baraka to make change, because honestly, Now this may seem a bit confronting time is something no one has, and why not use this lesson month to make a difference? This is the ones where we will be completing a lot and really reconnect with our purpose. All right now I know this seems like a daunting task.
reconnecting and reevaluating your life, but I've got five tips to help you get started on reworking your life. inshallah, keep in mind that these tips are not miracle work. The aim of them is to just really get you to start thinking of objectively about your life to start making some really intentional decisions about where you'd like to go, or where you'd like to see yourself inshallah. Okay, so let's get started. Tip number one, be grateful. Now this may seem like a bit out of place in like what is be grateful have to be have to do with them reworking my life. But this tip of being grateful should ideally apply at all times. But as humans, you know, we're forgetful and we were in
need of reminder, now just reflect upon this this day, this moment right now will never come again. So be grateful for it and say Alhamdulillah there is a reason why Allah subhanaw taala has chosen for you to be here right now listening to this podcast, wherever you are in the world. And when we realize this, it is just just that incredible thought and it puts so many things into perspective, the fact that everything is written, and in its exact place is just so humbling. You have a roof over your head, you're dry, warm and well rested in sha Allah. And you have even been blessed with a thought that you want to read reevaluate your life. Imagine going through life like a robot never
even considering making a change. So with gratefulness in mind, you're better able to look at your life and put it into perspective. All right, let's move on to tip number two, take lessons from the past, and then move on. Now we tend to look back at our lives and say things like, Oh, you know, I should have done this, or I should have done that. Or if only I had this, and this would happen or I would have had that. And look, I know you know what I'm talking about. Because I'm I'm just as guilty as anyone else. But you know what, it's actually a mock of faith to acknowledge that what has happened, was meant to be and can never be undone. Now, I'm pretty sure you've heard the head in
activity related by Abdullah bin bass, in which she said, quote, one day I was riding behind the Prophet peace and blessings be upon him when he said,
Young man, I will teach you some words, be mindful of God and He will take care of you. Be mindful of him. And you shall find him inside. If you ask him God, if you need help seek it from God know that if the whole world were to gather together in order to help you, they would not be able to help you except if God had written so if the whole world were together Together, in order to harm you, they would not harm you, except if God had written so the pants have been lifted and the pages are dry. And quote, that's just really a profound ahadeeth right there. And the point is, there's no point in anguishing over what has happened in the past. Your job is to think of what action you can
take now in sha Allah. Now, he may look back on the past six months and be like, I just didn't do anything that was such a waste of time. You know, how could I have like, just let time Go, go like that, but actually take a lesson from it and move on. I'm not saying completely forget about what happened. Definitely reflect on what has happened in the past and just keep it as a reminder for yourself and become wiser of what it has occurred in the past. inshallah, tip number three, ask yourself where you want to be. Now, this is a pretty big tip, okay. And I'm going to try and explain it as a wealth, I can now step back and have a really good look at where you are, consider consider,
you can consider these areas like consider your physical such personal areas, your spirituality and your connection with your dean, your financial situation, maybe your career or studies, as well as your family, friends and social relationships. kind of look at your life in these areas. Now, make a note of where you would like to be concerned with situations. For example, if we were to look at the family slash relationship sphere, you might want to have a better relationship with your parents or siblings. Or maybe if you're looking at your financial situation, you may decide that you want to be a wiser spender, or maybe you want to learn how to save more. Looking at your deen and spirituality,
you may be thinking Gee, it'd be good idea if I was taught to pray my sooner prayers along with the fact. And so the increasing or maybe you want to add some more tourists to your memorize list. grab a pen and paper or open up your laptop, whatever. Whatever your tool is, and I write down where would be the ideal for you and all these aspects of your life and keep them in mind. Step number four, take action. You just start making changes in your life. Think about what are some little things that you could do now to bring you a little closer to how you would like to see your life. Stop building doable habits. Now I can't go too deep into how to start new habits but
humbler, we do have a podcast on it. A fantastic one, I might add in which Mithra my co host beautifully explains how to implement new habits and to keep them. You can find a link to that at some laughs hackers.com slash five. And I'll also make a link to it in the show notes. So that was Tip number four, take action. Tip number five, start making dua. Now I have saved the best for last, okay, because I believe you know what I know Dora is the cradle of life.
There's nothing more essential to your progress than Dora. asking from Allah Subhan Allah to Allah to guide you to what you want and aid you in making your life a life worth living in sha Allah if you are not making sincere, intentional, I'm not. When I'm talking about door I'm not talking about robotic monitoring memorized, you know, I've said these doors on my life kind of do a document draft from the heart, you know, written in your words written in your tongue so to speak. Now is there a better time to make to our asking him for what will help you rework your life other than Ramadan? Certainly not my friends. So get started on making dua. Now you can find more info on how to make it
most of my tech is.com slash 26 where once again Mithra just like his the hammer on the nail with an awesome podcast on

Number two, take lessons from the past and then move on. Number three, ask yourself, where do you want to be? Number four, start to take action. And number five, start making.
