Loneliness.
I'm feeling it all the time.
Why?
There was a time when the prophet alaihis
salatu wasalam was walking in Mecca and he
passed by a mountain called the mountain of
Jamdan.
And when he passed by the mountain he
looked at his companions and he said a
phrase
that the people who are alone or isolated
have preceded us.
So when the Sahabas heard this statement, they
asked him, You Rasoolullah,
who are these mufaridun?
Who are these people that are alone? And
the prophet alaihis salatu wasalam said a very
beautiful statement.
They are
They are the people both from the males
and females that remember Allah
constantly.
So
being alone
doesn't sound like such a bad thing.
It's one thing if you feel alone no
matter what you do. So even if you
are
occupied with the remembrance of Allah, you're spending
a lot of time just reflecting,
praying, reciting and learning your deen, getting closer
to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. That's one thing.
But then for many of us it could
also be that no matter what we do,
no matter what we're engaged in, we still
feel alone. So there are 2 things to
keep in mind.
If you are of the latter group where
no matter what you do you still feel
that loneliness,
this is important and you need to get
help. It might be that you just need
to talk to somebody, you need to be
amongst people where you can unload some of
those emotions,
some of those feelings, whatever struggles and pain
you might be going through that's causing you
to feel this way. So that requires a
bit of care and nurturing.
But then the other category,
there are those who intentionally
want that isolation, they want that alone time,
And this is something that if you read
literally the biography of any of our scholars,
you'll notice that they always have this time
between them and Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
Alone time can be very beneficial and it
could actually be
the greatest moments of your life
as long as you utilize it to get
closer to your Creator.
So think about it and think about what
it is that you want to achieve when
you do feel alone and how you can
take advantage of that to make it work
for you, to actually uplift you spiritually, to
make you stronger and closer to Allah Subhanahu
Wa Ta'ala.
In this month of Ramadan
I'm sure that there's a lot of us
out there that have that alone time.
A lot of us spend time speaking to
Allah,
making our dua,
talking to Him and unloading
all of the emotions,
all of our needs and desires only to
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
And it's the greatest feeling ever. So take
advantage of it and try to use it
in a positive way as best as possible
and Insha'Allah
Allah will reward you and honor you for
you and me Insha'Allah.
