but not only was he married, my beloved brothers and sisters didn't like my library catalog Alhamdulillah after quite a long, lengthy
hiatus from these clauses was holidays and the new year and now Hamdulillah we have resumed, and this lesson number 30 Mashallah, then this would be 30. This number 30, about Islam from scratch. And in the series if you've joined us, for the first time, it's not from scratch really started about a year ago, with the objective of trying to explain to either a non Muslim or a revert or someone looking to reconnect with the basics of Islam. What exactly does it mean to be a Muslim? What do we, what are the fundamentals of Islam, what of essential things I need to know I need to believe I need to understand. And so if you were to follow the series from the beginning, the first
couple of episodes were around the core beliefs of what Islam means what it means to be a Muslim. Islam, of course, as we know, is a way of life. And it speaks about many, many issues from how to use the toilet, to how to run a government, how to run finances, some some of those those matters are, are not essential. And then they are the fundamentals of the of the of the religion. And so that is what we focused on. And we spoke about a lot of Theology at the beginning of the series. And then we spoke about the miracles of the Quran, we asked how do we know that Islam is correct? How can I believe in it? Is there any evidence that proves that this religion is in fact divine? And we
spoke a little bit about those matters? And then finally, I think from Episode 20, or so, we then said, Okay, if I have now accepted Islam, as the religion that I would like to follow, I would like to be a Muslim. Where do I start? How do I live as a Muslim? How do I practice as a Muslim? And so we had spoken and this is where we ended off about some of the basic rituals of living as a Muslim and that entails How do you perform Salah pray, how do you take ablution? How do you purify yourself? These are the fundamental basics that anyone that begins the journey of Islam, start with, and inshallah from next week onwards, we would continue and speak about those fundamental rituals of
Islam, the rituals of ablution, the rituals of our hustle, the major purification, we'll look at how to perform the pre the Salah, and we'll talk about the other fundamental elements of of Islam, and so on Hamdulillah I hope that it has been beneficial for those who are followed from the beginning. Except us, you know, these efforts and for those who are new, I hope that you find find it beneficial to you as well. Alhamdulillah. This evening, we are starting episode 30. And it's a bit of a
digression, it's a it's a side note from our series of sound from scratch. Tomorrow, Friday, the 17th of February 2023 is going to be a commemoration of what is known as the Surat and the Mirage, the ascension of the Prophet peace be upon him so the Prophet peace upon him will be taken by Almighty Allah on an amazing journey first from Makkah, where he lives to Jerusalem, Palestine, which is the home of which was the home of most of the prophets, so many of the prophets of the Quran and the Bible, and Brahim Prophet Abraham, of course, as we know, lived in Jerusalem and Abu Musa, Moses, Jesus, or ISA, they all lived in Jerusalem. And so the Prophet peace be upon him is
taken from Makkah to Jerusalem, and then from Jerusalem, an amazing journey, where he ascends through the heavens, through the different realms of creation, all the way to the pinnacle. And he meets and has a conversation with the Almighty and the divine himself. And then he returns once again back to to Jerusalem and back to Makkah. So, the Israel we call this the sun on the Mirage, the Night Journey of the ascension, that will be commemorated tomorrow even though there's no specific date for when the event occurred, but we remind ourselves and take some lessons from it. However this evening, what am I to talk about tonight in the in Islam from scratch, is the precursor
for the journey, we'll talk our talk on Mirage will be on YouTube as well and it will be released tomorrow inshallah. But I think it's very important to understand the context of why this journey occurred. And why Allah had given this amazing gift to the Prophet peace be upon him and in the context of sadness. And so to understand the story of the Saranda Mirage, it is very important to understand the the events that preceded it, so that you have what you have in the life of the prophet peace be upon him, you have the lowest point of his life, which is then followed by the highest point of his life. The most difficult time in his life is followed by the pinnacle and the
greatest moment in his life and so, and Hamdulillah this is the nature of Allah
up. And we are talking now. And, you know, last week we spoke about the terrible earthquake that we saw in Turkey and in Syria and Mela, make it easy for all the people of those lands which are seen so much difficult and devastation last decade and but, and throughout the world, so many people are suffering and struggling. And so this lecture,
tonight's lecture around the hardest and saddest moment in the life of the prophet Salam gives us so much more meaning when we do the Israel Mirage tomorrow. And so, we'll begin by reminding ourselves that we all go through hardships and even the most Blissett of people, the most pious of people, those who are loved the most about Allah, those who do and love the most perfect of lifestyles, they will also go through difficulty and hardship and Allah says in the Quran, or Hasib, a NASA youth Roku, Allah says, Do the people to you people think that we will leave you simply to say I call Ramona bombilla you've you've done that simply by you giving verbal affirmation that I believe in
Allah I'm a submitter, I'm a Muslim, I will not test you I will not put that that
belief to a test. It's a rhetorical question meaning that every single person whether you're good with your bad, whether you say you're a believer or not, you will be tested you and Allah is a Utah who I would leave you without being tested. Now every one of us is going to go through our own share of misery and hardship and all this I'm happy to answer the Hello Jana. Allah says Did you really think it's another Italian ocean that you will enter Jannah when Amaya ethical methodology in a Holloman company come that you will not go through the experiences the hardships the fitna the challenges the trials, as the people before you, you're not new, this is not You're not the first
people to be tested. All of the believers in the past went through hardship, my settlement but some of them were seized with with severe hardship, what the raw and extreme poverty and hunger was Zulu, Zulu, and they were shaken with earthquakes with a calamity upon calamity Hector, they were pushed to such an extent that they Akula rasuluh that until a messenger or one of the prophets even he said well, Latina Amman, Omar and the believers with him called Omata Ansarullah. They said winyah Allah you're going to help us we've been through so many tribulations. Yeah, Allah. We've been praying and praying and praying and so on Allah.
It is only human to say I've sat on my prayer mat my masala for days, months, years years, I have been crying my eyes out. I've been pouring my heart out to you. Yeah, Allah. But this is all my prayers go unanswered. When are you going to help? When is it going to come? When is the ease when is the conflict going to come? I must believe that you're going to assist me that you are near that you are the Most Merciful. But I've been waiting when you say to happen. Allah says Allah international law he called he don't worry, my assistance is very, very close. Within a moment I can change the situation within a moment, a door can open a hardship can be removed a calamity can can
be taken away within one moment, just as quickly as the calamity came. So quickly, the calamity can disappear. But of course, Allah subhanaw taala is upon His own, His own timeframe. We also mentioned that is not only the prophet that Prophet Muhammad will talk about his most difficult moments, we find in the Quran, some of the greatest personalities. In fact, the most mentioned personality Prophet Musa Islam, had his own share of extreme hardships. We know that there are certain to us that these Ambia made in the most extreme moments. Prophet Nabi Musa, we know after he killed a person, he left Egypt, he ran away, he had no home he had no she had no place to live, he didn't
have any food. He was a wanted man, he was completely it as if the world was all, you know, encroaching on him, he had nothing. And so he finds a place in shade in the shade. He sits under three. And he says for color, Robbie, oh my lord in Neelima and delta la I'm in hiding. fapy So he said, The liquidity situation, realizing I don't know where to go, I don't have anything he says, My Lord, indeed, I am. Of what ever good that you can give me in great need. I'm not even going to ask you give me this give me that. I'm in need of anything yet Allah I am desperate for anything Subhan Allah such a beautiful role, dua from the scenery, that I am asking you your Allah for anything that
you can give me any good that you can send my way I'll be highly, highly appreciative. One of the two hours that Subhanallah that I you know, it's so beautiful, that when
that never you know, be useful, never use.
We know it never universe when he was in the valley in the belly of the whale, and he had committed a son and Allah subhanaw taala that caused him to be swallowed up and he's in the whale being decomposed and digested by the whale. His skin is on fire. And he says, In the darkness of the whale, this is in La ilaha illa Anta Subhana iniquity evolving. He looks at his life. He looks at his sins and he said
This, oh Allah I'm like he's overwhelmed with the guilt that he had done and I'll be coming to listen. And now he's sitting, you know, in this alone, you know, under the, in the darkness of the whale, under the ocean with the waves upon him. And he says, There is none worthy of worship but You, my Lord, in the content of the Subhanallah how perfect you are in the content of volume I, I am not perfect and I committed the sin. I have committed the sin and other beautiful moment of raw emotion, now be Yahoo, the father of never use of when he's never use have had been gone for years for decades. What did he say? He says, in a school Buffy Well, who's Negan Allah, but every day he
says, I pour my grief and my sorrow and my hardship out to Allah subhanaw taala I pull out and I cry to him that you know what, I don't know that Allah subhanaw taala that you are the one that can make take away my sorrow you understand my pain, you know where my son is? I don't know where he is. And so he says, I pull out my heart, my sorrow to you. Yeah, Allah. And so even the best of people go through hardship. And this is not an Subhan Allah this of course did not. The Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him was not spared from this hardship. And so as we said, the Saranda Mirage when you talk about the amazing nature of the journey, and the this amazing gift that Allah had given me, Salah
understand also where he was in his life, the Prophet peace be upon him. He was around 50 years old at this time, he had been preaching Islam for the last 10 years. And this year, the 10th year of his mission, so 10 years is in the field is calling people to the worship of Allah. We know this year is known as the Amazon, the year of sadness. And so many calamities befell him in this specific year. Now the Prophet peace be upon him, was not a stranger to hardship. If you look at his life, he grew up an orphan. He lost both his parents if he never met his father, his father passed away before he was born. And his mom passed away when he was only six years old. So he grew up moving from one
relative to the next, a very sad childhood, if you look at it in that way,
and hamdulillah things get better in his life, he meets the love of his life, this Lady Khadija who throughout his life, I mean, they were inseparable, they had built such a happy moment, and he would have seemed to have come to a point in his life where things were good. But still, he buried all his sons, you know, her daughters, and he had sons, all his sons had died in as in as young children and SubhanAllah. How difficult it is, we talk about hardship, if a person loses one child, you know, their life will never ever be the same. He loses multiple children,
sons that he believes that they don't grow up Allah hamdullah has his daughters, and still, he's always optimistic positive men. And then of course, at the age of 40, he becomes a prophet, he is now called upon to preach the word of Islam. And this next 10 years, his life will change and everything of comfort is taken away from him. And he's inflicted with hardship. He's ostracized, he's abused, he's criticized. And for the next 10 years, he's going through one difficulty of the next his people completely reject him very, very few people actually follow his message. And finally, after 10 years of struggling with his people, the people the two individuals that were
closest and most beloved to him, his uncle who had raised him Abu Talib passes away, and not only passes away, he passes away as a disbelieving, doesn't accept Islam. And this hurt the Prophet deeply that, you know, my uncle, I could not be of any benefit to my own uncle, and Abu Talib dies, and I'm Muslim. And then
what makes matters even worse, a few days later, his wife and his soulmate his partner, Khadija, who had been with him from the very beginning and had been his first supporter, she also passes away. And so he's two pillars of strength. And the two people basically you could say, I will tell you, it was mom and dad in one and hottie Joe, who was his wife and the mother of his children. But he basically died the same week. And he looked at his personal situation, this was a massive blow. But beyond just his personal situation, these are the two people that helped him to do the mission of teaching and preaching Islam. He had lost the protection of his uncle, and he lost the comfort and
support of his wife. And he looked at his situation and he said, Where am I going to go to from now? And then he of course, we should know the story that he leaves Makkah for a few days to go to a neighboring city to ask them for assistance. So how difficult must it be if you leave your home your family relatives and you go to a city next door, to ask them for help to ask a stranger for help? And then in fact, instead of getting any help, instead of even getting an audience instead of even being treated with as a guest, he experienced the lowest point in his life many years later, his wife Ayesha, Ayesha Rhodiola would ask him, ya rasool Allah,
what was the worst day of your life? What was the lowest moment in your life and I want all of us to think about the worst days of our life. Maybe there was some
Um, sickness, maybe there was some person close to us that passed away, maybe there was some injury, maybe we went through some severe financial hardship, maybe you're going through that very difficult time. Now maybe you're sitting at home and thinking, this is the worst time of my life, I'm going through the, the hardest time of my life. And so the Prophet peace be upon him. He goes to five, and this was his worst moment you went the, to the city to speak to them, and how they received Him, and how they treated him and abused him and cursed him and spat on him and urinated on him. And subhanAllah eventually almost murdered him and ridiculed him that he had to flee for his life. Flee
for you know, just not to be stung to death. And he was chased out of the city
would be the moment where he really hits rock bottom, it wasn't so much that they had hurt him. It wasn't so much that they abused him, verbally and physically. He was accustomed to that. And he was above feeling.
You know, you know, feeling negative around those things. What really, really hurt him was when he left the city, and he's now walking back to Makkah. So maca had deserted him, he leaves Makkah, looking for assistance is almost killed by five. And so now he's walking, it would say with your tail between your legs back to Makkah, and in the middle. And in between these two cities, he sits in the desert, and he looks at his situation. And he feels completely hopeless. This is where he's at rock bottom. What do I do now? It appears that the I have no options left. I have no way to go. My situation is completely unsolvable. I am beyond any help. And it also felt ya Allah have you left
me now how many of us when we've gone through difficult times, when we go through hardship, it's not just the sickness or the the loss or the death that week that hurts those things hurt. But what might hurt even more is to ask ourselves, is this a punishment from Allah? Is this Allah turning away from me? Is this Allah subhanaw taala being displeased with me, I can handle a taste, I can handle, you know, hardship, or when I can't handle is the thought that you have left me or Allah, that you have nothing to do with me that I'm a loser in your eyes, that is something which is something the heart cannot accept. And so, as I mentioned a few of the devices that the prophets
mentioned before, this is perhaps the most at all, and the most, the saddest dua of our Prophet Muhammad Salah Salem. And so he sits between life and Makkah in the middle of the desert alone in the night, bleeding, looking at his life, imagining he must have missed Hurriya so much she's not the Mr. Abu Dhabi is not the wondering when I go back to Makkah, what am I people going to say? And so he says he makes us to ISIS, Oh Allah, to you alone, to I complain of my weakness, and of my lack of resources and my helplessness. Yeah, Allah to you alone. Do I complain? I don't complain to anybody else. But I come to you with my problems to you alone. Do I complain? And I complain to you
about my humiliation? Before mankind Hispaniola. You mentioned this the problem is is really pointless after the Salah, look at me. Look how, how we can I am your Allah and I'm complaining to you. Then he says and you Oh Allah, I am weak, but you are the Most Merciful of those who show mercy you are the most kind. You are the most gentle. You are the Lord of the week. And you're also my Lord, You are the Lord of everyone that is in difficulty. Every person that is going through hardship, say this, you are Allah, You are my Lord. You are there to look after me. You are there to protect me. So he says yeah Allah You are the Lord of all the people all those who are going through
a hardship in a week and you will also my Lord
when He says Ya Allah to who? To whom do you entrust me where do you put me at Allah? Should I go to a distant people have five that attack me? Or to an enemy that you gave control over my face? Or do you send me back to Makkah my enemies in Makkah are now in control of me where should I go? Well, I don't know where to go.
Yeah, Allah then he says yo, hola. In spite of all of this,
if you are not angry with me, then I'm okay. So long as you are not angry with me then I'm okay. And your protection is better for me. And is enough for me. All I need is your protection. Yeah, Allah. If you are not angry with me, but still you want me to go in the in the hands of my enemies. I go gladly, I will go. But I prefer that you protect me in that you helped me. And then he seeks then he says, I seek protection in the light of your face the more of your face your Allah What a beautiful way, a beautiful moment. You know, when you're in a emotional pain, it really feels like you're in darkness. It feels like you're overcome with with all kinds of darkness. And so we say yeah Allah
with your radiant face.
With a light that is from your face, I seek protection,
the light of your face which illuminates the darkness, it removes all the darkness, and through your light and your assistance, all a phase in life and in the year after, become light, everything in life becomes easy, becomes manageable with Allah in this world and in the next.
So he says here Allah, may it not May it never that I should incur you're off, or that you should be displeased with me Allah make dua, look, here's a look at this. He's making dua that Allah
punish these people that hurt me, punish the people of Makkah, give me money, give me assistance. All is the biggest point of history. He says, Yeah, Allah, please don't be angry with me. I am so low, but I can manage it. I am so physically and emotionally broken. But I can manage all of this my skin, my my bleeding skin, and my broken heart. I can carry all these burdens, so long as you're not angry and you have not left me. And so he says here, Allah all of this I can manage so long as you're not angry with me, and you don't incur you're off. And if if you are angry with me, and then he says Pamela, but even if you're angry with me, I will continue to make dua and pray to you and
worship you until you become pleased with me. La hawla wala Quwata illa biLlah there is no power and there is no mite and is no assistance except with you. And so this is the lowest point of the Prophet's life. This is what he's really asking Allah Ya Allah don't leave me. I've lost everything. I can't lose you. I don't need I don't mind going through any hardship, but I can't do it without you. And this is such a beautiful ro DUA and something which we can all take in our moments. And then what is beautiful of this is immediately after Allah responds in multiple ways, one of the ways he responds is he sends Surah Surah, Doha we, Allah says, ma dakara Buka warmer Allah, Allah says
the Prophet Salam, your load has not left you. And I'm not angry with you. I didn't go anyway. You make this dua as if though you've lost me I haven't met with Dr. aboukir. Your Lord has not said goodbye to you, when I call up and I'm not angry with you. Well, you let them in. And in the end, you're gonna see everything's gonna be okay. Allah says everything will be okay in the end. And this Subhanallah is what we should always remember, when you go through a patch of difficulty. You go through suffering now, remember, Allah says in the end in sha Allah, you will be happy you will live happily ever after. This is a bad chapter in your life. But the next chapters are going to come the
good chapters are going to come. And subhanAllah the greatest moment or the The happiest moment of the life that will be the most amazing gift will come immediately after this hardship, which is the Islamic marriage. And so to aid to end this evening's short lecture, we're getting into Islam from scratch. So the short lecture is, when we go through hardship, it is also an opportunity to open a door to open a path to something which we could not have reached before the Islamic Mirage would not have been accessible to the Prophet Salam, if we did not go through the year of sadness, by going through the year of sadness, by experiencing all the loss and all the calamities and then being
patient. And then using that moment, as a springboard as a stepping stone to something better, Allah will take him on a journey, and show him things and give him a him and experience that no other human no other creature in existence experienced. So Allah, so in his lowest moment, instead of being sorry for himself and angry, and dejected, he used it to say, ah, Allah, I'm going to take this very sad moment to draw closer to you to incur your, your happiness, your pleasure. And in response, Allah says, I love you, I haven't left you. And I'm going to give you something which I've not given anyone else to take you on this amazing, amazing journey of the Serrana Mirage, and in sha
Allah tomorrow evening. Those who are able to attend will do a wonderful presentation. In terms of this journey, the proximal took because he travels from Mecca to Jerusalem. But then he takes another journey going through the heavens through space and time. And he explores and visits the different rounds of existence, he gets to see the different prophets who had come and gone he gets to see the the inside of Jana and inside of Jana, and he gets to go to a point that no creature even Gibreel even the angels could not reach this point, there's a barrier that no creature has gone beyond that barrier, but he will be the first of all occasion to go beyond that barrier. And of
course, it would be in the presence of the Divine Subhanallah and that is our discussion, inshallah for tomorrow, the journey through the heavens and the ascension through creation, we hope to Allah grant us success in Tofik and grant us the ability to be there and so in sha Allah with the short words it's good hamdullah for us to be back in Allah accept from us and grant
This lecture series is smooth, short, small lecture series. Let there be a lot of benefit and goodness in it and we make sure that we continue throughout the mean cycle ahead. So clinical harmony and shadow Allah the stuff we're going to be like for so Allah says Muhammad Ali Muslim was sitting with him Nairobi the Alameen Salaam Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh
