Now, you see happiness, the pursuit of happiness, every one of us, every individual in this world, the way the loss handled, Allah has created us.

Every one of us we are searching for happiness, we are looking for happiness, we are looking for bliss, and peace and tranquility. And that's natural. And that's normal for a human being. Every human Muslim, non Muslim, a believer or non believer, a Christian, a Jew, and Hindu, a Sikh, every individual as a human being, is looking for and is searching for that happiness, the tranquility and that peace that they can find in this life.

So the pursuit of happiness is something that we all have within ourselves. It's something that we all have within ourselves, but from an Islamic point of view, we need to first define what is happiness and what I'm going to do inshallah, in the next few minutes that I have in front of us, is that I want to define happiness, what is happiness, and then inshallah look at four or five or six steps,

and four or five different things that I think inshallah will bring that happiness which I have defined. So first of all, we need to really define what happiness is what what is happiness in Arabic, you have a few terms, describing the word happiness, but two terms, which I thought I'll just share with you, one term is fun in Arabic,

and furnish the one who's who's you know, happy for. Allah talks about Allah uses this term in the Quran as well. And in some of the Hadith of the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam this term is used.

And another term for happiness in Arabic is soooooo. Now we have we have these two terms. And Farah was too far in Arabic is referring to that happiness which is temporary, which is external. And this is the reason why if you look in the Quran, whenever this term is used to describe happiness, it is used in a negative manner.

Allah does not like those who are happy. In other words, those who just go for the external temporary bliss and happiness. Whereas if you look at the word Sook, the word suru which means internal everlasting happiness. And that's the story

And the real contentment and happiness that Islam encourages. And the word Zulu because it's internal. It's and it's everlasting. If you know Arabic, you know the word soon it has the word seen around. The same root word is used for another term in Arabic, which is sip. And sip means a secret. sale in Arabic means a secret.

Why soon? And so what's the connection? What's the relationship? series secret, Sulu is a secret happiness is internal, it's inside, it's everlasting. it's to do with the heart.

So

In fact, the happiness that Islam advocates and encourages, is the happiness of the heart, the contentment of the heart, the peace of the heart. And this is the reason why we read in the Quran, Allah says, Allah, we literally learned the inner loop, with the remembrance of Allah do hearts find that peace, that tranquility, and that, that happiness, it's, it's, it's a condition, a state of the heart. Happiness is not with external means. It's not in

materialistic things of the world, it's connected to the heart. It's a fear. Unlike some of the illnesses, that happiness is a thought it's a thought, in a light Island. It's a gift. That means that you've you've probably come across a lot of people like that I myself have, where you find individuals that you think this person, you know, how can he be in any kind of distress, he has everything. Sometimes you

see individuals, they have everything that you would want in your life, yet you go into the you know, eternal part of the life that depressed now people would riches of the, you know, all type of niches and all the materialist, materialistic things at the disposal in this world, yet you go internally look into and search into their life. This people know that they have the best of cars and the best of luxuries and the best of properties, and the great wealth, amount of love that they have. You know, they have a great house and a great bed to sleep on. Yet when they sleep at night, they can't sleep, they need to take medicines, and even medicines don't work, you know, they need to

be on medication to just get that sleep. And there are millionaires. And there's a person who's probably a homeless person, right? And the way he's sleeping on the road there for eight hours you snoring and you kick him when he's still not waking up. It's just a bit of food and earliest content is happiness knowing away and is relaxed next morning, we're hungry.

He's feeling more content. I'm not saying we should all become homeless, by the way, but I'm just I'm just trying to paint a picture or two here.

You find a person who was just a normal Hindi individual is or is just called a normal job with a normal salary. And he was a live in the city of London, where nothing matters to people except sheer market and stock markets and trading. And that said, not everybody but many people within the city of London, and it's just the materialistic life in front of you where you have time for nothing. He had four sons. One son

was in Bangkok, one in Singapore, one in another country and the fourth in another country and he himself was the head of the business sitting in Karachi Pakistan and and these are four brothers in different parts of the world and major corporation business

So the share has been that you know, you missionary for a lot of wealth many you have sons doing business, you know When's the last time you let your sons always been so many years we don't have time like 2030 years, too busy people haven't had time to meet the chef. So tonight, what what what benefit is involved when that does not even enable you to meet your son, and you know, 20 years you're away and distance from your, from your children. wealth in solve is not happiness, we need to realize that. means to happiness, and you have happiness itself. two separate things, two different things totally different altogether. You can have the means of happiness, but not happiness. Money cannot buy use of that phrase all the time, wealth and money can't buy that inner peace, which is in the heart. So we need to realize that real real

contentment and happiness is not in worldly materialistic items or objects. real peace, what is real peace? What is real happiness? What does Islam say? What does the Quran and Sunnah say about happiness? What is that real eternal Sulu, that we all should pursue? What is that

some of the scholars might have talked about this and cannot or to worry about.

Islam, really, the real and true happiness is an honor to work and this is based on the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam two words used, you can mention these two things separately, or you could put them together. The real this is the Islamic definition. This is an Islamic definition of happiness, of peace, of raw of contentment, what does it look like not to worry about

being content an hour means content being content with what with that which Allah subhana wa tada has given you are basically the definition of financial means is that a person individual in his life in her life does whatever he or she can do in terms of acquiring money involved and making the life a bit comfortable.

Whatever means they are at one's disposal. One takes the means,

uses the lawful legal means healthier ways to acquire wealth for whatever the person wants to acquire in his life. Right? And I mean, there are people who do you know, seriously, they, you know, when they dream, they actually trading this, this brother once came to me. And he said, I had this dream of creating a dream where he was actually basically he was going to have a big business. And in the dream, he was just about to go ahead with this business transaction in transaction with someone where he was going to lose a lot of his money. And he was so he did the transaction. And then he realized he realized that you

know what, something's going wrong here. The guys deceived me. So he became so distressed that he woke up in the middle of the night. And he said, Oh, lucky. Fortunately, I'm just sleeping. It's just in my bed.

But he happens to people. That's it. That's the only aim objective and goal of life. Love, nothing else. worldly materialistic things, historically, that the definition so I will say Ghana, which is contentment, you can translate it with one word, contentment being content, but the description or the or the detail explanation of this world is that it is to take the permissible means in this world of acquiring wealth and acquiring the beautiful things of this world. So in moderation, and number three, the third part, the third component of this word, honor, is then to be happy with that which Allah has decreed for you. This is a corner to worry about.

In this world, real happiness is only in corner.

Because you see worldly pleasures, worldly pleasures never end. They never end brothers, sisters, they never end. One one pleasure one desire leads to another desire, the next desire, you lead to another design, a person has a certain type of job or salary. end in this world. Because you see, there's only two things, every human being the desires do not end right the desires we have in this world. And we can only take two paths, there's only two paths we can take. Either, either what we do is after one desire, next desire, and we search for the third desire, and we go in pursuit of our next desire and the next desire and the next all our life, our distressed because we're always trying to get something when we're distressed, we're depressed when we're sad. And we're looking at other people and we're always Okay, this person got this job. So I need to get to that level he's got this degree is called that I need to then move down to 500,000

pounds properties, or we need to look at them look at them. And so you just keep you're always in this state of distress. That's one route to take, because nobody, even the richest person in the world, or even the most pious of individuals islamically the greatest shape the greatest earning the greatest scholar, the greatest muhaddith nobody. He said, look at the people below you. If you live in a rented house, then think there are people in this world who don't even know they're homeless people sleeping on the road.

There are homeless people, if you can, if you come in, here we are, he'll be able to walk think of the people who don't even have legs. There are hundreds and 1000s of people in hospital right now, who don't have arms who don't have legs don't have none of the narrow and the boundaries of Allah Subhana. Allah has blessed us with.

Look, think about the poor people.

Think about all those people who are in the prisons right now. Who can't, you know, even meet their own family members on a regular statement on a regular
