I bear witness that there is no god
but Allah, and there is none worthy of
worship except Him.
I bear witness that on the Day of
Judgment we will live and on the Day
of Judgment we will die and on the
Day of Judgment we will meet Allah.
On the Day when neither wealth nor children
will benefit except those who come to Allah
with a sound heart.
I bear witness that Muhammad is the servant
of Allah and His Messenger.
Peace and blessings be upon him and his
family and all his companions.
O ye who believe!
fear Allah as He should be feared, and
die not except as Muslims.
A knight in Mecca, Muhammad, peace and blessings
be upon him, was by himself in the
mountain of Al-Nur, thinking and reflecting in
the creation of Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala,
الذين يتفكرون في خلق السماوات والأرض ربنا ما
خلقت هذا باطلاً سبحانك فقنا عذاب النار thinking
that there is no way for those idols
surrounding the Kaaba, 360 idols made by humans,
then people used to worship them.
It does not make sense to Rasulullah, peace
and blessings be upon him, that this is
the right way.
So he kept by the guidance of Allah,
subhanahu wa ta'ala, going to that mountain
every year, thinking, waiting for a solution for
this problem of the people of Mecca.
He did not know that he will receive
the light which will cover not only the
people of Mecca, but will cover the whole
earth.
The earth was so thirsty for this type
of guidance.
Jibreel, peace and blessings be upon him, has
been away from coming down to any human
after Isa, peace and blessings be upon him,
for about 500 years.
Then while he was thinking, peace and blessings
be upon him, inside of that cave by
himself, peace and blessings be upon him, suddenly
Jibreel, peace and blessings be upon him, came
down to Rasulullah and he hugged him in
a hard way saying, Subhanallah, any human will
face a situation like this, will be afraid.
Iqra, two times, and Rasulullah, peace and blessings
be upon him, is responding, what you want
me to read?
Then the third time he said, peace and
blessings be upon him, maa iqra, what do
you want me to read?
Then the first ayah came down to Rasulullah,
peace and blessings be upon him, iqra, bismi
rabbika allathee khalaq.
Brothers and sisters, did you ever think about
why Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala, is giving
the first ayah to this ummah?
Iqra, it was not salli, it was not
go to do hajj, it was not give
zakah, it was iqra.
As if Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala, is
telling Rasulullah, peace and blessings be upon him,
and teaching us as Muslim ummah, followers of
Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, read,
recite, educate yourself, increase your knowledge, seek the
help from Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala.
Your salah with no iqra is not going
to be completed.
Your ibadah with no knowledge and iqra is
not going to be right.
Even your jihad in the way of Allah,
subhanahu wa ta'ala, with no iqra, is
going to be extreme and it will not
bring the right result, subhanallah.
Iqra is the key for the success in
the dunya and in the akhira.
قُلْ هَلْ يَسْتَوِي الَّذِينَ يَعْلَمُونَ وَالَّذِينَ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala, is telling us
that the people of knowledge are different than
the people who have no knowledge.
And Rasulullah, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, the orphan
or the ummi, the one who does not
know how to read and write, he was
the best teacher, or the best teacher, sallallahu
alayhi wa sallam, for the people who have
knowledge and the people who are ignorant.
Rasulullah, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, the orphan who
came to the dunya and did not see
his father, Allahumma salli ala rasulillah, he became
the best teacher for the human beings, how
to be good and nice and kind to
the orphans around, and he said, sallallahu alayhi
wa sallam, I will be with the sponsor
person for, you know, of the orphans, like
this in Jannah.
The person who became a prophet, sallallahu alayhi
wa sallam, receiving iqra, was the best husband
in the earth, with his wife, sallallahu alayhi
wa sallam, the person who received iqra, he
was the best teacher for the business people,
how to educate themselves, and to be nice
and kind, and to be truthful when they
deal with each other, and trustworthy.
As-sadiq al-ameen, sayastalimu al-bidayat al
-jadeedah lihadhi al-dunya, wa ma arsalnaka illa
rahmatan lil'alameen, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.
So this night, even if it was dark,
in the cave of Hira, but the light
of it will cover the whole earth.
Allahumma salli ala rasulillah.
So Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, as soon
as he received this, as if Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala telling us, the first ayah
in your deen, in your book, in your
mushaf, in your revelation, iqra, Bismi rabbika allathee
khalaq.
So we have to know that the deen
and the dunya should go together.
ma ajmal al-deeni wal-dunya idha ijtama
'a.
The deen without of dunya will not be
completed, and the dunya without of the deen
will not be completed.
And both will bring the success for the
ummah in this life and in the life
after.
Wallahi we feel shy when we see the
Muslim ummah behind other nations.
And we have the first ayah was revealed
to us, iqra.
We don't read, and if we read we
don't understand.
And sometimes if we understand, we don't follow
what we understood.
And this is a problem or the weakness
of our ummah these days.
May Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala forgive us
all.
Subhanallah al-azim.
If you look at the teachings in Islam,
Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is telling us,
whoever seeks the knowledge, Allah subhanahu wa ta
'ala will show him a way to jannah.
man sadaqa tariqan yaltamisu bihi ilman sahala allahu
lahu bihi tariqan liljannah.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, the angels, the
creatures or the creation around us are giving
salam and giving dua for the person who
teach others.
Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam told us clearly
in the hadith, even the fish inside of
the ocean, they're making istighfar for the person
who teach people the knowledge and the ilm.
And when we say ilm, we're not talking
about the ilm of the dunya or the
ilm of the akhira only.
We're not talking about the ilm of the
Quran or the sunnah.
We're talking about the ilm of the dunya
and the ilm of the akhira.
It's not good for a Muslim brother or
sister to have the certificate, we call it
in Arabic shahada, the shahada of any dunya
field losing the shahada of la ilaha illallah
muhammadur rasulullah.
So we want to combine them.
And Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam told us
that the people of knowledge, if they have
the faith and the belief, they will serve
Islam way better than the people who have
no knowledge.
And the one who worships Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala with knowledge is like the Prophet
sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, comparing to others.
May Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala increase our
knowledge and grant us hikmah.
وَإِنَّهُ وَلِيُّ ذَلِكَ وَالْقَادِرُ عَلَيْهِ لِلَّهِ فِي الْآفَاقِ
آيَاتٌ لَعَلَّ أَقَلَّهَا هُوَ مَا إِلَيْهِ هَدَاكَ وَلَعَلَّ
مَا فِي النَّفْسِ مِنْ آيَاتِهِ عَجَبٌ عُجَابٌ لَوْ
تَرَى عَيْنَاكَ وَالْكَوْنُ مَشْحُونٌ بِأَسْرَارٍ إِذَا حَاوَلْتَ تَفْسِيرًا
لَهَا أَعْيَاكَ Sorry to say these few words
in Arabic, but the meaning of them, think
and reflect about the creation of Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala.
Think about the sun, the planets, the stars,
the night, the day, even about yourself, the
people around you, the creation of Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala.
وَالْكَوْنُ مَشْحُونٌ بِأَسْرَارٍ إِذَا حَاوَلْتَ تَفْسِيرًا لَهَا أَعْيَاكَ
قُلْ لِلطَّبِيبِ تَخَطَّفَتْهُ يَدُ الرَّذَى يَا شَافِيَ الْأَمْرَاضِ
مَنْ أَرْذَاكَ If you see a doctor who
is doing and giving a surgery, you know,
for somebody, what happened to you?
There are many doctors who were the reason
for some people to be alive.
Then the doctor himself lost his life.
This is the choice of Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala.
وَإِذَا تَرَسْتُ عُبَانَ يَنفُثُ سُمَّهُ فَاسْأَلْهُ مَنْ ذَا
بِالسُّمُومِ حَشَاكَ وَاسْأَلْهُ كَيْفَ تَعِيشُ يَا ثُعُبَانُ أَوْ
تَحْيَى وَهَذَا السُّمُّ يَمْلَأُ فَاكَ وَاسْأَلْ بُطُونَ النَّحْلِ
كَيْفَ تَقَاطَرَتْ شَهْدًا وَقُلْ لِلشَّهْدِ مَنْ حَلَّاكَ اللَّهُ
فِي كُلِّ الْحَقَائِقِ مَافِلٌ إِنْ لَمْ تَكُنْ لِتَرَاهُ
فَهُوَ يَرَاكَ Allah SWT is with us, Allah
knows everything and Allah SWT wants us to
seek knowledge to understand our book of the
Qur'an to follow the teaching of Rasulullah
SAW and look at the ayat and the
best thing in our life to be recited
and read is the Qur'an, the book
of Allah SWT and if we read it
and try our best to understand it أَفَلَا
يَتَدَبَّرُ لَلْقُرْآنَ أَمْ عَلَى قُلُوبٍ أَقْفَالُهَا and try
to teach it to others and to apply
it in our life Wallahi we will gain
so much of barakah and the Qur'an
which is telling us أَقِيمُوا الصَّلَاةِ the Qur
'an itself is telling us to be kind
to our parents telling us to be nice
to the people around us even if they
are not Muslims since they are not harming
our deen so Islam and the Qur'an
and the sunnah of Rasulullah SAW are teaching
us how to be successful when it comes
to the dunya and in the akhirah وَلَا
تَنْسَ نَصِيبَكَ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَأَحْسِنْ كَمَا أَحْسَنَ اللَّهُ
إِلَيْكَ وَلَا تَبْغِي الْفَسَادَ فِي الْأَرْضِ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ
اللهم اجعلنا مِن مَن يَسْتَمِعُ الْقُولِ فِي الْتَبْعُونَ
أَحْسَنَةً So brothers and sisters I would like
to end first lesson from اقرأ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ
الَّذِي خَلَقْ that it's good to connect ourselves
to the book of Allah subhanahu wa ta
'ala the book of guidance the book of
hidayah Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is telling
us in surah al-muzzammil and by the
way al-muzzammil came down to Rasulullah sallallahu
alayhi wa sallam few days after he received
the first ayat and he was afraid sallallahu
alayhi wa sallam and he went home running
scared, then he covered himself Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala told him يَا أَيُّهَا الْمُزَّمِّلُ قُمِنْ
لَيْلًا إِلَّا قَلِيلًا نِصْفَهُ أَوْ مِنْقُسْ مِنْهُ قَلِيلًا
at the end of the ayat Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala is telling Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi
wa sallam and telling this ummah فَقْرَأُ مَا
تَيَسَّرَ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ be connected to the book
of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala each letter
of the Quran will get you will get
ten hasanat according to Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa
sallam فَقْرَأُ مَا تَيَسَّرَ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ then Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala gave us three different
situations Allah is telling us O Muslims even
if you are going through any situation be
connected to the Quran عَلِمَ اللَّهُ أَنْسَ يَكُونُ
مِنكُم مَرْضًا وَآخَرُنَ يَضْرِبُونَ فِي الْأَرْضِ يَبْتَغُونَ مِنْ
فَضْلِ اللَّهِ وَآخَرُنَ يُقَاتِلُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَقْرَأُ
مَا تَيَسَّرَ مِنَ Allah knows that there are
people who will be ill people who are
travelling, working and people who are fighting in
the way of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
even though they are in the way of
the Quran what about the people who have
no problems so we should thank Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala wallahi as Muslim communities in
America we should thank Allah and we ask
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala to keep his
ni'm for us may Allah subhanahu wa ta
'ala protect us in dunya and akhira so
alhamdulillah we have the chance to sit in
the masjid and recite the Quran we have
the chance to listen to the book of
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala on our way,
we have the chance to teach our kids
the book of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
and to have hafidh who understand the Quran
and apply the Quran in his life in
this community may Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
increase the blessings in our community so the
first lesson from this ayah, iqra be connected
to the knowledge educate yourself, try to learn
to educate yourself and increase your knowledge Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala is telling us ...

not put you down ever Then Rasulallah salallahu
alaihi wasalam start talking to her about his
situation Rasulallah salallahu alaihi wasalam and the lesson
which we are going to talk about in
this few minutes inshallah ta'ala to the
brothers and to the sisters too Try your
best And I would love to say it
again and again Try your best to keep
your house full of love, peace, tranquility There
are three pillars Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
mentioned them in Quran If we have them
in our homes inshallah ta'ala We will
live in a good life and inshallah ta
'ala We will be as spouses in Jannah
together biiznillah subhanahu wa ta'ala وَمِنْ آيَاتِهِ
أَنْ خَلَقَ لَكُمْ مِنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ أَزْوَاجًا لِتَسْكُنُوا إِلَيْهَا
So the first one is sakinah, tranquility, peace
Then he says subhanahu wa ta'ala وَجَعَلَ
بَيْنَكُمْ مَوَدَّةً وَرَحْمَةً So we have tranquility and
peace Love and mercy If we have these
three pillars in our homes Our kids will
live as if they are in Jannah The
relationship between us as spouses will be the
best relationship According to the sunnah of Rasulullah
sallallahu alayhi wa sallam قُلْتُمْ مَا سَمِعْتُمْ وَاسْتَغْفِرُوا
اللَّهَ لِيَوْلَكُمْ إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ الحمد لله
رب العالمين واشهد أن لا إله إلا الله
وحده لا شريك له وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ
صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَى آلِهِ وَأَصْحَابِهِ أَجْمَعِينَ Or
how to do the salah So we have
to balance them as much as we can
And no way for the Quran to disappoint
the person who is connected to the way
of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala Also we
should try our best to be nice, good
to our families and to our Muslim brothers
and sisters around us If we do this
inshallah ta'ala we will have the food
of our souls and the love between each
other And if we live like this, this
is beautiful So اقرأ باسم ربك الذي خلق
خلق الإنسان من علق اقرأ وربك الأكرم الذي
علم بالقلم علم الإنسان ما لم يعلم اللهم
علمنا ماينفعنا وانفعنا بما علمتنا وزدنا علما يا
رب العالمين اللهم إنا نسألك بأسمائك الحسنى وصفاتك
العلى يا أرحم الراحمين ويا غياث المستغيفين ويا
خالق الأولين والآخرين يا من علمت بالقلم يا
من خلقت السماوات والأرض يا من وسعت رحمته
كل شيء اللهم ارحم إخواننا في فلسطين اللهم
كن لهم ناصرا ومعينا يا رب العالمين اللهم
أفرغ عليهم صبرا وثبت أقدامهم وانصرهم على القوم
الكافرين اللهم أنزل عليه من الصبر أضعاف ما
نزل عليه من البلاء اللهم وفرج هم المسلمين
في كل مكان اللهم احفظنا زوجاتنا وأولادنا وذرياتنا
واحفظنا ديننا وثبتنا على الدين حتى نلقاك وأنت
راض عننا واغفر لنا ولوالدين والمسلمين وصلى الله
على سيدنا محمد وعلى آله وأصحابه أجمعين واقم
