regarding a painful punishment that will overtake them, if they don't turn to us. So Allah is reminding people to become good, to become better, to become people who have eradicated their bad ways and habits. And Allah says, If you don't, a time will come. Allah says, warn your people of a punishment, that will be painful that will come to them at a certain stage if they continue in their bad ways and habits. For me, this is a direct message. And it is for all of us actually, where Allah is telling us, quit your bad ways, your bad habits, become a better person, improve yourself, develop your link with Allah. Otherwise, there may come a day when Allah chooses to inflict you with painful punishment. May Allah protect us. May Allah never do that to us, my mothers and sisters, this is a powerful reminder. So Allah says, he said, So now Allah instructed him to tell his people that and now he is saying to his people, all my people,

indeed I am to you, a clear Warner, to worship Allah, fear Him and OBEY Him.

Be conscious of him, and obey Him. That's what Allah wants.

So, as soon as Allah instructed him, he obeyed the instruction of Allah. This is the habit of the chosen ones, those who are chosen by Allah, a sign of it is when Allah tells them something they immediately obey. Indeed, the time set by Allah when it comes will not be delayed, If you only knew. So if you turn to Allah and if you obey Him, and if you worship Him alone, and if you are conscious of him, he says, He will forgive your sins, your shortcomings will

be forgiven. And from this we learn that when you sin, because of a human nature, where the devil has come and whispered in your ears and made it seemingly beautiful, and then you end up sinning, Allah says, You quickly turn back to Allah, you ask a lust, forgiveness, and he says, He will forgive your sins

and He will delay you delay you, meaning postpone you, He will give you respect, he will grant you a space of time to prove yourself. Prove yourself now that you said Allah forgive me. Allah says okay, I give you

Another 10 years to live in those 10 years, just prove that you really sorry about what you've done in the past. So for 10 years, you've been cleaned Mashallah, and then you die you pass away. And Allah says, I've forgiven you why you worshipped me. You were conscious of me. You tried to obey me as best as you could. So we keep on turning to Allah subhanho wa Taala he will grant us a period of time when Allah says And that's the end of verse number four, that when the time of Allah comes, it's not delayed at all, if only But you knew. So none of us knows our time many many of us it's normal and natural to think that we might just die today it's normal. It's good to actually think that I might go today why because you will be able to at least have a slight preparation leave your books in order in terms of your your wealth and your bond notes and what else everything can be in order. Allah says because you left it for us, we will grant you forgiveness, we will give you a paradise, we will give you a goodness Allah Akbar.

That's why the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him says that if you are to pray, when you pray five times a day in a way that you believe that may be your last prayer, the quality of the prayer will be much better. And if you were to die after that, or before that, or during that, sorry, then what would happen is, at least you'd have prayed in a way that you felt was filled with sincerity and concentration. So suddenly, Salah thermodyne fulfill your prayer as though you are say bidding farewell, farewell prayer. Allah subhanho wa Taala has given you a chance. If every prayer of yours is like that one day, it will definitely be your farewell prayer.

That's a very, very good habit. Now it's not good to become depressed by the thought of death. But it's good to become concerned at the fact that you may just drop at any time and that's what Allah is saying. When the time of Allah comes, nobody can change it. Nobody can change it. It's a shock for all of us. Recently, we lost quite a few members of our community.

And that's the plan of Allah. May Allah grant agenda. More Can we say, May Allah forgive them? May Allah forgive our shortcomings? And may Allah subhanho wa Taala grant us the loftiest rents in paradise. May Allah subhanho wa Taala indeed grant us a good ending. I mean, so Allah says,

another thing that new alayhi salatu salam, the Prophet Noah told his people mentioned in verse number five, he said, My Lord, indeed, I invited my people to the truth, night and day, this means that Noah May peace be upon him is confirming that he called his people night and day. That's what he's saying. So if we were to say this is what he told his people by day, and by night, it would be correct based on what he has said, the prophet didn't lie. And Allah wouldn't have mentioned this at all, unless it was absolutely accurate.

So it is. So he says, By day, I invited them the same invitation by night, I invited them same invitation, possibly the wordings may have been on different occasions, slightly different as he's mentioned in different parts of the Quran. He told him about this and about that, but the gist of the message is all the same. Worship Allah alone, quit your bad ways and habits turn to Allah and remember that you're going to all be returned to Allah.

So Allah says, that no, Allah is Salatu was Salam is now telling his Lord about what he told his people. He says, My Lord, indeed I invited my people. I invited them now.

When did he say this? He said this after 900 years,

approximately, after nine centuries, not decades, centuries.

So according to the narrations, he used to call these people, and nobody used to accept his message, imagine, you have a group of people. You are a prophet of Allah, you are calling your people, you are a messenger of Allah, you're calling them to do what? Quit their bad way. Say for example, in our society, quit gambling, quit adultery, quit pornography, quit drinking alcohol, intoxicants, quit drugs, and so on. There are so many other things that are haram that's happening, quit the eating of interest, it's going to become very interesting with the new bond notes, where we you know, it's going to be a bigger test for us than ever before in this particular country, where

there's going to be a substitute for the US dollars.

And I'm sure you've read up about it. And I hope no one has those notes in advance already. But at the same time,

it's going to be a big test. The test is to see Do you do anything haram are prohibited? because things are tight, so to speak, in our language, things are tough. It's a taste from Allah, if you do something Haram, it's going to bring about no blessings, it's going to bring about no Baraka, no goodness. And if you don't, you may still gain and you may not gain, you may struggle, you may have to adjust your lifestyle, everyone is already planning to adjust their lifestyle. And if you don't adjust your lifestyle, guess what you may struggle not because Allah did not give you but because you were ungrateful. When Allah says, Look, I give you $1,000

a month, for example, now I'm going to give you 500 that's what you need.

The 1000 was what you wanted, you probably wanted 2000 and man is such that he he wants much more than what he has all the time. Even if you get 2 million, you still want 2 billion. And if you have 2 billion, you still want 20 billion, that's how it is.

But Allah says become content, be happy, adjust your life, start cutting down on your expenses turn to Allah and and lead a life that has much less to do with expenses when you can't afford it and reach out to people still, a winner is He who doesn't have much but gives others

in a way that they might think this person has a lot but they don't.

Subhan Allah

Subhana Allah so Allah tests us may not test us with tests that are very difficult for us, but that Allah has planned, everyone goes through this economic hardship, don't think that if I leave the country and I'm going to go to another western country, perhaps I might be I might earn a bit more and so on life might be much more expensive there, there may be other challenges there, you might not be able to practice some of your faith, you might not be able to have a hands on approach with your children, you may not be able to have meals with your kids, you might have to work and slave it from six to eight. That's how many hours 14 hours a day, you might have to do other things you might

lose track with so much that was far more important than $1 or two. I'm not saying don't go but I'm saying you need to consider these factors before you go.

Subhan Allah, I hope you understand. It's the test from Allah. I know people a long time ago, I read an article where people were looking for the safest quietest place on earth, and they arrived at the Falklands. And when they got to the Falklands A little while later the war started. So it goes to prove that you can look for the safest place on Earth. If Allah wants you to be tested, you will be tested there as well.

And this is why you need to relate everything to Allah. Adjust for the sake of Allah think Allah be thankful, filled with gratitude. So he says,

My Lord, I indeed invited my people to the truth, night and day. But my invitation increased them not accepting flight, which means they turned away, averted flight here means running away.

Every time I call them, they ran further. Ask yourself when the message of Allah comes to you? Do you take it? Do you get closer to it? Do you become agitated by it? Do you become irritated and run away? Do you become arrogant in a way that you turn far away from it and fly as it were? away from it.

That reaction will generally be able to help you gauge whether you're doing the right thing or not, and where you're supposed to be. And this is why those who run further away from Allah, they're actually running into difficulty hardship problem, both in this world and the next because I love promises you and he's shown us that success is not by figures. Success is not by wealth. That's not success. The most successful people

Those who are content, even though they may never have owned a house or a home, they may be living in rented accommodation. Sometimes they may be struggling to pay the bills. But the most successful are those who are content and close to Allah so that they have earned both this world and the next this world in the sense that they were happy, they may not have had everything. And I can explain to you something very interesting, say your monthly expenses. $1,000 just an example.

If you have 20,000, guess what you've got 90,000 over and above your necessity, so that 19,000 is going to change the way you live, but not the fact that you only still needed 1000 that the way you live, if it makes you so comfortable that you forget the Hereafter, you've lost. But the day you go, you will not take the extra 19,000 with you, whatever you've amassed will actually remain here. What will come with you, people say I set my children, my brothers and sisters, you set your children for two generations by amassing $2 million, and keeping it for them. But you haven't set your own self for the minute after you died.

Did you hear that? You set people for two generations, which means human beings on earth who would have come anyway with their own sustenance, you you live the life such that you prepared for them, you prepare for their children, and you prepare for their grandchildren who are now your great grandchildren. And you're so happy you're so excited. I am such a successful person. I've amassed so much of wealth that my great great grandchildren don't even need to worry from now. Wow. Mashallah. I'm great. I'm very satisfied and happy to hear that. But I'm very, very worried because I want to ask you what have you prepared for three seconds after your heart stops pumping, then what you

prepared for three generations, but you did not prepare for three seconds. Foolish, racy. So who is the most successful Don't fool yourself, don't fool yourself. The most successful is not he who had wealth more than he could even spend, but is he who prepared for the day, his heart would stop pumping, the day he would die, meet with Allah two seconds, a split second later, you're gonna need a lot of help. A lot of help that help no matter what you've amassed, even if you earn $100, a month or a week,

you could be successful in the hereafter.

So this is the only point of pondering that I've raised here for all of us to say, let's just have our priorities straight, don't become too indulged in this world, and depressed by its ups and downs, to the degree that you forget, there's something bigger coming.

So he says, Every time I invited them, it increased them not, except in flights. And indeed, every time I invited them,

that you may forgive them every time I told them that Allah will forgive you. They put their fingers in their ears, both literally and figuratively. They covered themselves with that balance, literally and figuratively, figuratively,

persistent, and were arrogant, with a great arrogance, every time I invited them,

in order for you to forgive them.

And I told them come, Allah will forgive you. They put their fingers in their ears, they could not be bothered.

Deaf, a blind eye, as we would say,

covered themselves with their governments

refusing to look or listen,

they didn't want it today, Mashallah, if you and this is a fact of life, I'm going to say it for the 10th time, if you invite a pop star from the globe, pop star from the globe. And he comes to do all these popping here.

I promise you and I guarantee you Muslims will be those who will pay 1000s of dollars in order to have a VIP seat

in order to be the closest in order to look and listen and enjoy and shake with them. It's a fact. Allah is telling us that there are people who are far more important than the pop stars. There are people who are far more important than anyone else on earth because of the message they have. Not because of who they are. That message could be held by anyone it could be held by you by me by anyone. The message is Allah's message. So the power belongs to the message not to the people who came but they are very

important because they have come to you they have made it their business to come to you with a very good message. And the true winners are those whom for free for free.

They would actually make sure that they are listening.

They look and they listen. And they move, not shaking their bodies and popping as the pop stars would have taught them, but they move in the right direction, Salah comes into play, your dress code comes into play, your truthfulness comes into play, your mischief eradicate itself.

And you become a better person, your character improves such that people enjoy your company, your character improves a sign of a true believer who's fulfilling Salah correctly is that their character improves when your character is not good even with those whom you work with all who work for you. There's something wrong with you worship. Remember this, I'm saying it again.

When your character and conduct is not good with people or even with the lowest of the low in your eyes,

in terms of

financial status, the lowest in terms of financial status in your eyes, when your character and conduct

has not improved with those. Then there is something wrong with you acts of worship, your Salah is not proper, you're just paying lip service, you're not worried you're not concentrating, you're just getting over and done with it. But when you are really worried about your Salah being accepted, and you humble yourself to Allah, no matter how much wealth you have, you will always be humbled towards the rest of the creatures of the same Allah.

Allah created those who work for you. And he created a situation to test you nothing else, nothing else.

Those are also the beloved creatures of their maker. They have equal access to Allah, as you do.

So treat them fairly. That's what will make you the best of people. The best character

the Prophet sallallahu Sallam says that he has seen

the best from amongst you are those who have the best of character conduct, how you speak, your facial expressions are of absolute importance. Did you know that

your expressions with your family members

on your face, smiling the home your children, your spouses, your in laws, your parents, your siblings, smile.

Even if you're going through a little bit of hardship, trust me, that expression on your face becomes an act of charity. According to some Galatians

absolutely important. It's part of your character, your conduct, the tone of your voice, is an extension of your character and conduct.

The tone How do you speak? Do you yell? Do you scream to use sway? Or are you calm? Do you try and speak in a beautiful way, soothing way soothing? meaning we're not mirroring the opposite sex? No, but what we are doing within our own parameters, we know we are speaking in the best possible way that we can. That's what makes a Muslim.

But these people, they were arrogant, they turned away. They didn't want to look and they didn't want to listen, but they were looking and listening at the wrong thing. And to the wrong thing.

So that's a sign of rejection from Allah subhanho wa Taala is when a person listens and looks

at the wrong direction.

May Allah help us a lot of us, I'm sure this will help us to substitute perhaps the wrong CDs and DVDs that we might be having with that which is correct and upright, that which will inshallah earn us a valuable place in the eyes of Allah subhanho wa Taala. So Allah says, and indeed, when I invited them publicly, which means I went to them one by one in secret, I told them, Listen, you know what, it's Allah subhanho wa Taala, we owe him that we returned to him, we become better people leave your bad ways, habits then after that I addressed them publicly publicly, when I announced to them and confided in to them in secret again. So it was secret, it was public, it was secret, it was

in confidence. It was in so many different ways. I called them by night by day at all the times of the day and the night and I said, ask forgiveness.

Now, before I translate verse number 10, I want to tell you, a lot of people are after money. So they will tell you, you know, what we don't see beyond our noses. Because if we don't have money, we are not going to live a life of comfort. So we want to earn many of us when we

and I'm going to say a very important point here, when we are choosing schools for our children. And when we decide what our children need need in their lives, many of us Islam is by the way, it's just a ceremonial thing.

Teach them salah and that's it. Teach them salah and a few other things halal Haram. But the main concentration is actually the secular studies because I want my child to grow up and become a doctor, I want my child to become something else, I want my child to have a good business to be able to earn to live for their lives. We are all guilty of saying this. And the reason why I say guilty is it sounds so nice, what's wrong with it? What's wrong with it, someone might say, well, what's wrong, I want my child to grow up and become a very healthy, wealthy businessman.

So I will send them to this into that sometimes they say I want my child to become a soccer player, a tennis player, whatever else. And so what happens is, the mistake we're making is we're forgetting one word from that particular sentence. I want my child to be a Muslim doctor, well, what happened, the word Muslim came into it. So the Islam needs to come from where it will come from home, that's where it will come from home. If you are living by it, they will see your values, your ways, your habits, and they will be following. In most cases, it also comes by the type of schools use choose for your children in the early years. In the early years, if you want to send your child for

example, to a school that is filled with children who are into materialism, to a degree that everyone has the latest of gadgets, you're going to be have to you're going to be having to buy for them all those things in order for them to feel accepted among their own friends.

Every day is going to be a problem, you know, my friend got the latest. And you know, I saw this at school. And that happened and there'll be depressed and sad. And if you don't get for them, the iPods and iPads and s, and androids and LGs and everything else of today, and the cars and the trucks and whatever else, you know, the list is endless, to be honest, the accessories and the clothing and the perfumes and whatnot. And the makeup By the way, sorry, that should have been the first thing before phones also.

So it's the pressure of the friends, it's the pressure of society, the type of friends you keep the pressure they see. I mean, if you're a person who's never worn makeup, for example,

because that's how you've grown up, and then you have a set of friends, every one of them has like three inches of paste on their faces. Or one day you put on half an inch. You know, that's how it starts. Mashallah. And you never did it. And guess what? It burns your skin? And you know, it doesn't? This guy doesn't know what he's talking about. It doesn't it's actually brilliant. Well, they're gonna market it to you, isn't it? It's the pressure, the people you mix with the type of people you mix with, and you allow your kids to mix with. It's the pressure of society, when everyone has their pants halfway down their backsides? Well, you think your son's gonna be wearing

one the proper weight on his waist? No, it's the pressure. If everyone whom you chose your son to mix with, he's doing it that way. Trust me, it's just a matter of time. It's just

a matter of time.

So this is why we say let's be a little bit more careful. Yes, we do want successful doctors and lawyers and Mashallah, everything else, whatever it is, but we'd like to have Muslims upright people with great character conduct, beautiful people whom it's a pleasure to interact with. And they are concerned equally about the rest of humanity and the other creatures of Allah subhanho wa Taala.

So Allah subhanho wa Taala says here

that we know Halle salatu wa sallam spoke to them.

Their concern was mainly money and wealth.

The funny thing is they were still not getting that wealth.

Even though they were doing their own things, they were still not getting their wealth and allow you to hold back the rain.

So normally, salatu salam says, I told them, ask forgiveness of your Lord indeed he is ever Perpetual Forgiver He will send rain from the skies upon you continuing showers and He will give you increase in wealth and children and provide for you gardens and provide for you rivers. What is the matter with you that you do not attribute to Allah? Do you grandia

these verses are connected.

Because what he's saying is if you engage in st fall, which means if you seek a last forgiveness, these are the things that you will get in return. Number one, you will get the forgiveness. Number two,

he's gonna send rain for rain from the sky. So if you want rain, you need to ask us forgiveness. Number three, he will increase you in wealth. Number four, he will increase you in children who will be beneficial for you, you know, what's the point of having children that are going to harm you or that are going to be a source of your downfall or children who will be the cause of your depression and your stress. What's the point?

So when you ask for children say, Oh Allah blessed me with children, who will be the coolness of my eyes, not children who are going to be a means of me being punished. That's why sometimes a lot does not give you children because he knows it's the best thing for you. The winner is He who gets paradise not he who gets anything on Earth, you can Allah could have given you or not given you anything on Earth. That's not success. Success is when you are given paradise, that's all. So if the fact that Allah gave you something was the means of entry into genda for you, then that means that item was given to you as part of your success. And if Allah kept something away from you,

in order to give you agenda later on, then the fact that he kept it away from you was part of your success. The biggest success of yours was that Allah did not give you something you wanted. So when you arrive on the Day of Judgment, and Allah says for you is genuine, and what will happen?

You may be stunned the people around you who may witness that may be shocked.

But Allah says, you know, on Earth, I didn't give you things and you were okay with it. You were still content? You were happy with me? Yes, you struggle through your days, but Alhamdulillah because I watched that because I saw that because that was your test. I chose that as your door. to gender. The key to your door to Paradise is the fact that I kept away from you something you desperately wanted.

That is interesting, very, very interesting. So Allah says to these people, look, you want wealth, you want rain, you want children to be good. Turn to Allah, that's what it is. Turn to Allah.

Sometimes we have children who are unruly and we have turned to Allah, that's a test as well from Allah.

We are we are trying to do our best in terms of our relationship with Allah subhanho wa Taala. But our children turn out to be unruly, it's a test. And at the same time, maybe there's something wrong in our equation. You know, we always tell people don't worry, it's a test but you need to ask yourself, Am I doing something wrong? It's quite normal to ask yourself that question. And maybe you might have chosen wrong friends, you might have chosen wrong schools, you might have chosen something a mistake down the line, you can rectify it sometimes. Sometimes it might be a little bit difficult to rectify. But Allah subhanho wa Taala says Look, if you want success is still fall. I've
