Mufti Menk – Ramadan 2014 – Day 4 – Uthmaan Ibn ‘Affaan

			Salam aleikum wa rahmatullah wa barakato.
		

			smilla rahmanir rahim al hamdu Lillahi Rabbil alameen wa sallahu wa salam o Baraka, Alana be

who was stingy or miserly. He used to spend a lot and this is something that was unique for him. On
top of that, he was a very shy person so shy that Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wasallam says Earth man
is a man whom even the angels are shy off amazing. Even the angels are shy of him, and Muhammad
sallallahu alayhi wasallam later on, if he used to be seated and Abu Bakar used to walking around
		

			the lava and or Omar used to walk in radi Allahu, and he was still relaxed as he was Muhammad
sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, but the minute is man up near a fan of the Allahu anhu walked in, he
would sit down and he would actually in fact sit up and he would mend his clothing and make sure
that he was seated in a proper position and posture. This was out of the respect he had for the

			Abdullah bin Abdul muttalib. That was his proper name. So Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Abdul muttalib

Immediately, no questions asked. Nothing happened. He just said, I bear witness that there is none
worthy of worship besides Allah and you are indeed the Messenger of Allah subhanho wa Taala. This
was a fan of the Allah and as wealthy as he was as powerful of eager as he was. He was a very
influential figure in courage, although he was slightly younger than Muhammad sallallahu alayhi
		

			wasallam he was influential because he had wealth, you know, up to this day, anyone who has a lot of
wealth, they are quite influential. May Allah subhanho wa Taala. Grant us ease. There was a time we
used to say, you know, Money Talks, have you heard that? Money Talks, but I've actually changed that
to money screams May Allah subhanho wa Taala, grant us ease and goodness and may make us from those
who understand and realize so he then accepted Islam, and he was the first from Banu Hashim, which
is the direct clan of Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam to accept Islam and Muhammad Sallallahu
Sallam was so happy, but it made certain people very, very upset who became angry. Number one was al
		

			Hakim ignoble us. Abu Jamal became very angry. He said, How can a man from our clan except Muhammad,
and this man is from a noble home? This man is from a noble home of man of near fun. How can he
accept Mohammed Abdullah as a messenger of Allah subhanho wa Taala and quit our ways in our habits?

whatever he is calling towards is correct. It is right. Do not let your position your power, your
		

			authority cloud your understanding of what is right and wrong.

			There is an incident that occurred at that particular time. And it was very interesting because he
married the daughter of Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wasallam. And that was something that Muhammad
sallallahu alayhi wasallam was very happy about because Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam his
daughter, ruqayyah Binti Mohammed bin Abdullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, she was engaged to the
son of Abu lahab, known as earthbath ibn Abdullah hub. And Abu lahab was interested in getting this
girl into the home because she was known as a very, very good girl brought up by Khadija been to
Hawaii literally Allahu Allah, and Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. She was such a good girl in
		

			Quraysh that she was known because of her character nobility, conduct chastity, and so on.
		

			But what happened is Abu lahab decided to go against Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wasallam to the
degree that, you know, Seurat Abu lahab basura to Abu lahab was revealed, de Bhatia, da, ba ba ba,

destroyed. So what happened is, the little children of Makkah began to read these verses, they were
		

			so sweet in in their poetic form. In fact, the Quranic form, so sweet and so easy to memorize, that
the children who are running in the streets and the galleys of Makkah, were busy saying, but yeah,
the Abdullah have been Watashi wa and it infuriated him so much that he told his son to release
Rukia Binti Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, I don't want you to marry this woman anymore. So
they were engaged, but that engagement was broken. And when that happened, a smile of me I found a

there is a great sacrifice. If you want your marriage to work. There is a sacrifice you need to
make. It's not something that will just come like that. You don't just make Allah make us happy.
make us happy. You spend no time at home, you make no effort to make your marriage work. It's not
		

			going to work. But if you make dua to Allah, Allah make us happy and you are making an effort to be
happy to please Allah and so on. Then by the will of Allah subhanho wa Taala the doors will open. So
my brothers and sisters this was the example of man and rupiah, Binti Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi
wa sallam.
		

			Now, at that particular time because of what Abuja Hall was doing to the two of them, Muhammad
sallallahu alayhi wa sallam gave them permission to migrate to Abyssinia to Africa. So the first

wealthy he was as man, if not a fan of the Allah. May Allah subhanho wa Taala, grant us goodness, he
was also a person who could read and write. So he was not an unlimited person as the norm was at the
time, but he was one of the fortunate few who could read and write. And this is why if you recall,
at the time of the death of Abu Bakr Casa de for the Allahu anhu, he called us man didn't have fun

			we can read and write. But do we use that ability to actually increase our knowledge of Allah and

for the gifts that he has bestowed us with.
		

			So as a founder of the Allah and the hero that we are speaking about today, he was a man who spent
so much of his wealth that nobody could compete with him. Quantity wise, we spoke about percentage
wise, percentage wise, number one was Abu Bakr, Siddiq of Allah and he gave 100% of what he had. But
quantity wise, rich man is a man of near fun. Let's look at what happened during the Battle of the
book just prior to the Battle of the book, The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam sent a message to
Mecca, and he got up on the member in Madina munawwara and he asked for donations towards the Battle
of the book. And the Sahaba of the Allahu anhu started coming with their various donations. And here
		

			comes the man of the founder of the Allah and
		

			it is interesting how mention has been made of this in so many integrations, some of them take the
figure, bringing it as high as 2000 animals that amount of near a founder of the Allahu anhu brought
950 camels all at once. So panela 950 camels and 50 horses, they say one third of the entire expense

			nothing will harm us man from whatever he does after today he will still have paradise Subhana

he was still a very humble person, and he continued serving Islam and the Muslims, our hero, Allahu

			him married to another daughter of his known as omocha Tomita Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.
So this is why this man didn't have fun, the only human being that we know of, to be married to two
daughters of a prophet of Allah.
		

			subhanho wa Taala no prophet before, has had both daughters married to the same men one after the
other. Subhana Allah besides Earth man, and this was one of his virtues. He was known as the norine.
A person who owned two of the lights, two knows what are these two news Rukia Binti Muhammad

known as ruma. According to some narrations rumor was the name of the previous owner, but some
narration say it was just the name of the well. So it was called rumor, not very far from where
masjidul Qibla is today. So Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wasallam encouraged the companions that look
		

			we are being harassed by the owner of this well, he is charging so much money to the Muslims in
order to take a bucket of water each he will charge large amounts of money. So he's harassing us,
whoever buys this wealth, this well, for him is paradise. whoever buys this well for him, his
paradise Here comes out of man up near a fan silently, quietly. He went to the owner, and he told
him I want to buy the well the owner says I'm not selling the well. He says okay, let me buy half of
it. Look at how sharp a businessman he was. He said okay, how much are you paying for it? They
agreed on an amount Some people say 20,000. Durham's, some take it to 100,000 and some say that the
		

			man continued to increase until it went to a million only Allah knows the correct figure but it was
a large amount of money.
		

			So he said okay, I buy half of it. We remain shareholders one day we drink one day you drink, he

to drink on the day of Earth man, because a man made an announcement about the Allahu anhu He says,
I have purchased 50% of this well, and I have it one day and he has it one day, so you people can

needed. And the next day, no one was there. So the other man did not make any money anymore. So
after some time, he decided to sell the other half as well. He says no matter what I get take it
		

			because obviously this was, you know, a shrewd businessman who has outwitted me in business he
bought half not knowing that you know what, you're going to lose all your business. If this man
gives it for free. I don't think they would have believed that someone would actually give this huge
business deal out as an endowment for the Muslims as an endowment for the Muslims. Now I want to
take you through what happened here. Us man up near a fan purchased this Well, now it is known as

day, that day, people had heard that there is a great caravan of a man coming from the northern part
of the peninsula, and it has in it a lot of food and a lot of provision. And some time later in the
afternoon, a huge caravan consisting of 1000 camels pitched up into Madina munawwara and it
		

			literally stopped at the door of asthma and apnea fund or their loved one, a load of camels and the
people had come out and they started helping getting the produce down, and all the merchandise Most
of it was actually food stuff. And the iPhone emerged and the businessmen of Madina munawwara who
had the money, they emerged and they said oh man, we want to buy from you the people are dying of
hunger, we want to buy from you from this food, we will give you for every dyrham that you spent to
Durham's which means we give you 100% profit.
		

			He said no, I someone has offered me more. So they said okay, we give you more. He said no, someone
has offered me even more.
		

			So they said okay, we will give you even more. And they continued, he said sorry, someone has
offered me more than whatever you people have offered. They said it cannot be. We are the business
people of MK Madina munawwara we know we are the first to come to you who else has spoken to you?
Nobody would be foolish to give you so much. He said Allah has promised me that he will multiply it
tenfold for me.
		

			They looked at him shocked. They said What do you mean? He said, I make you witness that all these
1000 camels you see here, I have donated them for the Muslim in they can have them I don't want a
single theorem or dinner. This is between
		

			And Allah you people may have this. This was a fun 1000 camel loads of food and he just donated he
just like that. Imagine containers of goods coming in and you say this is for folk around muslimeen
this is for the people who are needy, whoever needs it come and take from it. Don't worry, this is
yours. This was fun, the great hero, the man who spent so Pinilla
		

			later on, he took over
		

			after homerville Harbor, the Allahu anhu as the leader. And this was also something very interesting

was fasting, it was a Friday, and they came in and they brutally murdered him. May Allah subhanho wa
Taala protect us from the internal conflict amongst the Muslims. I would like to say my brothers and
sisters, be careful of those who instill hatred in you for your own brothers and sisters as Muslims,
be careful of them. This is the fitna that started at the time of Othman of Nia fan. It continues to

			they talk ill and evil about the leaders of the Muslims and the llama and amongst us they instill
hatred. The result will only be fitna and further division. May Allah protect us all and grant us a
