Mufti Menk – Ramadan 2006 – Durban – Day 30

			On a dilemma dearest brothers and sisters in Islam, we ask Allah subhanho wa Taala to accept the
recitation of the Quran in the month of Ramadan and to accept the listening of the Quran and to
accept the little explanation that we have been
		

			engaged in on a daily basis. May Allah subhanho wa Taala grant us acceptance and May He grant us a
change in our lives. For indeed the method or the manner in which to know whether something was
accepted or not, is to see if it has changed our lives. If it has changed our lives in sha Allah, it
was accepted by Allah subhanho wa Taala. But if it has not changed us in any way, it has not touched
us in any way. Then we have wasted the month of Ramadan May Allah subhanho wa Taala not do that to
us.
		

			In tonight's recitation, we read the 30th and the last portion of the Quran, in which there are 37
sutras from amongst the 37. There are only two sutras which were revealed in Medina to the
munawwara. The rest were revealed in Makkah, Tomoko Rama, if you noticed, they were all short
verses, mostly very short verses, as we had explained yesterday, regarding the verses that were
revealed in Makkah to the mocha Rama, but soon it will be enough. That is the clear evidence that
surah was revealed in Medina to manohara and subrata nossal. The surah of the assistance and help of
Allah subhanho wa Taala. That was also revealed in Al Madina, munawwara where Allah subhanho wa
		

			Taala says either

			Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wasallam after 23 years of sacrifice, 23 years of difficulty 23 years of
spreading the word. That is when Allah subhanho wa Taala informed him your mission is now
accomplished. You are now seeing people entering the fold of Islam in huge armies. If we take a look
at this huge army that is present today. We Oh thanks to Allah subhanho wa Taala and we definitely
owe durood to Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam Allahumma salli wa sallam the Eman Abaddon, Allah
Habibi. limi May Allah subhanho wa Taala blessings and salutations constantly be upon the most
beloved had it not been for him, the message would have never, ever come to us. May Allah subhanho
		

			wa Taala accept us? Very briefly, many of the sutras of the 30th chapter of the Quran are dealing
with the description of karma, and we are here and they are dealing with
		

			the what will happen to this world and how it will come to an end, how the skies will tear to
pieces, how the skies shall crack, and how the mountains shelf shall be moving and they will
crumble. And they will be seen to be moving by people yet. They were known previously or prior to
the last day as the as huge structures that were placed by Allah subhanho wa Taala very solid in one
place. May Allah subhanho wa Taala safeguard us the chaos of the final day in this creation is
described in the 30th chapter of the Quran. Most of the sutras deal with that and therefore I will
not go into all the details. But Allah subhanho wa Taala speaks also of his greatness, and spirit

sallam, What gift, the gift that his name was to be raised? Very, very high, in fact, the highest.
		

			There is a curse upon anyone who says Mohammed without saying something Allahu alayhi wa sallam.
There is a curse upon such a person, if they have done that intentionally. So May Allah subhanho wa
Taala never make us from amongst those who do not utter sal Allahu Allah alayhi wa sallam May Allah
blessings and salutations be upon Muhammad salallahu alayhi wa sallam, Allah says water fountain.
		

			And we have raised for you your remembrance, the remembrance of Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam
is raised very high manansala Allah wahida sallallahu alayhi wa SRA. The Prophet sallallahu alayhi
wa sallam told us whoever sins blessings upon me, once Allah sends blessings upon him 10 times. So
if we are sitting with one test V, and we send blessings 100 times we are earning 1000 multiplied by
10. May Allah grant us concentration, and May he accept it from us. So we are earning even more, but
we don't realize it. We feel
		

			very upset and we feel
		

			very edgy when we've got to sit with us be in fact we don't even concentrate. May Allah not do that
to us. Then Allah subhanho wa Taala speaks of the earthquake, the day of the tremor, what is the day
of the tremor, as Zelzal when there will be chaos once again and as I said, the description of the
last day, and Allah says anyone who has done anything good shall definitely see it. And whoever has
done anything bad will also see it unless they have engaged in repentance May Allah forgive us on
this day.
		

			And Allah says in Surah to Shara

			see us ah You should know that definitely. With every difficulty there is ease. If we have placed
difficulty in your life, we have also placed ease immediately thereafter, all together with the
difficulty and with the same difficulty we have placed another point of ease What this means is
Ally's telling us with every difficulty there are two points of ease if only we comprehend and
understand. May Allah make us content and May Allah make us from amongst those who can make dua. At
times Allah was calamity in our lives because when there was no calamity we divorced ourselves from
Allah subhanho wa Taala. So he puts difficulty in our life so that we can turn to Him. And then when
		

			there is difficulty, we begin to curse May Allah save us yet it is a blessing in disguise. Imagine
making and making two are coming to the mustard on a daily basis because of problems. If those
problems were taken away and we stopped coming to the masjid, then the taking away of the problems
becomes a bigger problem. May Allah subhanho wa Taala says goddess and Allah subhanho wa Taala also
reminds us of
		

			those who compete with one another when it comes to amassing worldly items. Allah says the
competition between yourselves of amassing has diverted you from the fact that you are going to die.
		

			That competition has diverted you from the fact that you are going to die and the only thing that
will help recollect Your mind is by visiting the graveyard

not help each other with with minor items. Someone needs a bit of sugar flour, a little bit of
cooking oil and so on. And we say no, but yet had we given them it would not have decreased anything
from our flour or sugar or cooking oil and so on. So this is the quality of those who are lazy in
		

			Salah. That is what the Quran says. Those who stand up in Salah to show off when it comes to a
little bit of help that someone asked them even if they asked you for a small portion of your wealth
a center to keep a few coins in the motor vehicle Why not?
		

			Give them out and say Allah I don't want to be from amongst those you've described in Surah to my
own lady you can even be Dean. Do you see the one who belies entire Deen? That is the one who is
lazy in Salah stands up in Salah to show people and very stingy and miserly, probably only gives
when though when people are watching and does not give in private. May Allah subhanho wa Taala not
let that happen to us. And Allah again, warns people of slandering and backbiting. Why equally home
as a genome as a destruction be upon those who slander and backbiting.
		

			Why?
		

			Allah says another quality of those who like to spread tales is that they continue counting their
wealth and they do not spend it. They think that that wealth is going to result in them living on
earth forever and ever. They are not going to die analysis can never know ways that cannot happen.
Every single person has to die and taste death. May Allah subhanho wa Taala make it easy. The day he
takes us away. Then Allah subhanho wa Taala has spoken off the incident in the year that Rasulullah
sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was born where it is known as the year of the elephants, and how
miraculously Allah saved and protected the Kaaba. And I want to reassure all the Muslims of the
		

			globe, that that Kaaba is the house of Allah subhanho wa Taala Don't worry, don't get excited. Don't
panic. The protector is Allah subhanho wa Taala he has proven it in the past, and there is nothing
stopping him from doing it again. It is Allah subhanho wa Taala who will protect the holy lands, and
it is Allah subhanho wa Taala who will grant victory to the Muslim men, if ever they happen to be
attacked? May Allah subhanho wa Taala safeguard us and Allah subhanho wa Taala speaks of our
relationship with the kuffar and the fact that we need to understand that for as long as they do not
fight us, we should not fight them. And we should leave them upon their belief. And we should be
		

			upon our belief. If we'd like to engage in that way and in calling and positive propagation, we
should do so that is required that is a duty, but never stop fighting those who have never fought
you just because they have a different religion. Allah says very clearly in spirit will cause your
own
		

			law
		

			to be
		

			I do not worship that which you wish. You do not worship that which I worship Allah repeated again.
I don't worship that which you worship. And you do not worship that which I worship. You have your
religion and I have mine. We've understood it. May Allah subhanho wa Taala grant us steadfastness on
this Deen The only way we are going to be steadfast on Islam is by learning this religion. Many of
us are guilty of not even knowing the message of the Quran. That is the book that is going to take
us to gentlemen inshallah, many of us are guilty of not knowing the message of the Quran, how many
of us can we resolve today that inshallah we will make an effort to learn the Arabic language
		

			inshallah, we will make an effort to understand what is the message of the Quran, we will try and
read on a daily basis as much as we can. And we will develop a link with Allah who can teach that to
us. May Allah subhanho wa Taala make it easy for us a quick point
		

			in our lives, we spent so many years, the vast majority of us in universities for many hours in the
day we study huge books, we're with 1000s of pages, that is only going to help us up to the age of
65. Probably, then the certificate expires, we know what is retirement. May Allah subhanho wa Taala
grant us understanding? Yes, it may be of benefit even post that if Allah subhanho wa Taala has
accepted someone but if we have only worried about our lives on this globe, what about the real
life? How much time and how many books have we learned and how much time have we sacrificed? That
certificate will help us from the age of 25 if we are lucky, right to the age of 70. If we are
		

			extremely lucky thereafter, there is another certificate we need. What have we done for that it's
not too late. May Allah subhanho wa Taala make it easy for us to learn the Quran to learn the
message of the Sunnah to adopt the ways of the Dhamma and to develop links with
		

			them and not to hate them because they are Allah of this Deen. Remember they may have weaknesses,
but a weakness or two does not mean that we need to spread tales about them and we need to divorce
ourselves from them and we should not benefit from them in any way. If they were flawless, they
would have been MBR there is one Hadith where I could see where Allah subhanho wa Taala says that on
the day of Yama, he will call up the Lama and he will tell them I have not put my knowledge in you
except because I love you except for the reason that I love you. And I'd like to grant you Jenna now
was no hisab and Nikita what's gonna happen on that day? May Allah grant that to us? And may Allah
		

			make us true Allah Ma, those who can actually learn this Deen put it into practice and teach it to
others. Those are the true Lama May Allah subhanho wa Taala. grant that to us, then Allah subhanho
wa Taala speaks of how men should seek protection and it's not a coincidence that the Quran ends
with verses of protection, seek protection, seek protection in Allah from Shaytan and seek
protection in Allah, not only from shaytan but from evil people as well. And from all the evil that
has been created by Allah subhanho wa Taala May Allah subhanho wa Taala grant us all understanding
and acceptance. Before I end, I had promised yesterday that I will go into some of the verses of
		

			that were revealed in Medina to munawwara. I mentioned a few points of how to pick them up in the
Quran. The verses that were revealed in El Medina to manohara any surah that has any law of the
Sharia was revealed in Medina to manohara the minute you hear Nika, or Allah, or Xena, or, sorry,
Costa Rica, meaning the punishment of the one who has stolen or any other rules and regulations of

			Even suited to Hajj some who say that Surah Al Hajj was revealed in Makkah, but the verses of jihad
they agree that they were revealed in Medina to manohara. When it comes to the term, Alia hood,
wherever the term Aaliyah hood is used, exactly as I've said it that surah was revealed in Medina to
