Sorry.
We start up by praising Allah, Subhanahu Wa
Ta'ala, the one who is worthy of all
of our praise and our gratitude is Allah,
Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala,
who watches over us and takes care of
us is Allah, Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala,
who serves justice
across the world, is a loss of Hanwah
Ta'ala that no crime is gone unseen from
him. It is a loss of Hanwah Ta'ala
whose justice is served
whether it may be late,
whether it may be delayed.
Is a law subhanahu wa ta'ala who holds
us accountable for our crimes and who holds
us accountable for our sins
and holds us accountable for our aggression towards
other and our oppression.
We then send peace and blessing upon the
prophet who
was sent as a mercy to mankind, but
even through his mercy he said,
to stand up against a person who is
oppressing
is a good deed. Companion of the prophet
salallahu alaihi wa sallam and his family members,
those who helped him aided him, I'm about
thereafter. In the Quran, Allah
he says,
Do people think
that they will be loved once they say,
That they will say, we believe in Allah
Sub 'hanahu wa ta'ala. We are Muslims. We
have brought faith.
And after this,
they will not be tested in hardships and
difficulties and adversities
will not fall in their pathway.
And here Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is telling
us that once you say the words that
you are a believer,
and the more
belief sets firm in your heart,
the more hardships Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will
test you and I with.
You will be tested with grief.
You'll be tested with a loss of life.
With hunger.
By losing your wealth.
And what we understand from this is Allah
Subhanahu wa ta'ala tested in many different ways.
But as a believer, our job is in
those moment to stand firm.
In those moment in those moments
to show resiliency
and persevere
during these difficult times.
And this has been the key of Allah
Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
When hardship comes, hardship
is followed or it comes with ease.
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala tested the Ambiya Salatahu
Wa Salam of the past.
Ibrahim Alaihi Salatahu Wa Salam was tested when
he was thrown into a fire. He was
imprisoned in a fire, but he said,
There's only one of laws subhanahu wa ta'ala.
And
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is sufficient for me.
Yusuf Alaihi salatu was salam, he was tested
when Yusuf Alaihi salatu was salam was in
prison,
in jail,
locked up.
But yet, Yusuf Alaihi salatu was salam, even
in
that difficulty, he called out to the oneness
of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala and he continued
on.
Yaqub
is tested,
where
he loses his child
to such a degree
that he cries and cries and cries until
his eyes become blind.
And his test carries on for years.
Is tested
where he's tested in his wealth, he's tested
in his health, and he's tested in his
family.
But yet, when he calls out to Allah
Subhanahu, he says, oh Allah,
difficulty has just touched me.
You are the most merciful people. You are
the most merciful those that show mercy.
Rasulullah
salallahu alayhi wasalam was tested.
And the prophet salallahu alayhi wasalam through every
test, he showed
resilience.
He showed istikamah.
Starting off in the days of Mecca to
Muqaddama where Muslims were just a handful,
and on the streets you have
being dragged, and you have Sumayya
Lu giving her life, and you have Amal
bin Yasir, and you have Khabab bin Arad,
who's made to lay on a bed of
coal. And you can imagine
the heart of the prophet salallahu alaihi wasallam
in those moments that maybe the thought of
throwing in the towel
for someone like you and I would have
came into our mind.
But the prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam showed
istaqamah.
Then came the battle of Uhud,
where the prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam is
standing in front of the mutilated body of
his uncle
throwing in the towel would have came into
my mind that, you know, I cannot do
this anymore. And then when it came time
to hijra,
leaving everything behind and traveling for the sake
of being the thought of throwing in the
towel would have came into my mind.
That this is a lot.
But then when the thought
of Hudaybia
and the conquest of Mecca, and every time
the prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam teaches us
that difficulties
will come your way, but it's okay.
Very difficult week because the suffering that's been
happening
for years now,
it's not just about 6 7 months,
but the suffering that's been happening for years,
a little taste of that
is now brought into our backyard.
We're 20 youngsters of our community
were imprisoned
for standing up
in a peaceful manner
for that which is true.
But this is nothing new.
One of the greatest scholars in Islam,
when we look at the top of the
list of scholars.
There are 4 scholars of fiqh, and there
are 6 scholars of Hadith.
From the 4 scholars of
Imam Ahmed in humble
actually spent 28 months
in prison.
28 months he spent in prison, but when
he was in prison, his values didn't change.
And when he was in prison, he was
tortured.
He was persecuted within prison. But yet, Imam
Ahmed Bihumbal, his values of changing his beliefs
with the doctrine of the the doctrine of
the mortiseilad
did not happen.
And shortly after he
is let go, he passed away.
You look at the 6 scholars of hadith,
and from there namely
the top of the list is
Imam spent 16 months in prison.
In Islam,
after the Quran,
the most authentic book
that preserves our religion. Our religion come from
2 sources.
Al Quran was Sunnati. The prophet salallahu alaihi
wa sallam as he's about to pass away
he says hold on to these two things.
And if you hold on to these two
things, you will be guided. If you let
go of them, you'll be misguided.
Al Quran was sunnati, the Quran in my
tradition, my sunnah. And Imam Bukhayr he
spends his whole life
preserving the sunnah of the prophet in
a hadith to point that today after the
Quran, the most authentic book of hadith is
Imam Bukhara.
Imam Bukhara,
passed away in Samarkand.
The reason being is that Imam Bukhara
spent 16 months in prison.
And once he's released he leaves Bukhara, and
then he goes out and to Samarkand, and
that's where he passed away.
So standing up for justice
and
being locked away for that is nothing new.
It's in our history.
Starting from Yusuf alaihis salatu was salam, and
to a point that, Imam Ghazali,
even in his time, Imam Ghazali even though
he wasn't
informally
imprisoned,
but his wings were cut off where Imam
Ghazali
stood up for the truth.
Now,
showing resiliency
in is
one of the most difficult things.
To the point of the prophet salallahu alaihi
wa sallam tells us that showing resiliency
and holding on to my way, my sunnah,
a time will come will test
and test will surround you. Hardships will surround
you. We're holding on to the truth. Holding
on to the sunnah will be even more
difficult than holding on to a burning piece
of coal. And trust me, this is today.
Where if you stand up for the true
and if you show istikama,
and if you show resiliency,
and you show perseverance
for that which is true.
And what is true?
Truth is
that 40,000 people have lost their lives.
Truth is, so many children have became orphan.
Truth is, women have became widows.
Truth is, Ramzan
was not pleasant,
except with the
blessing of the lost of Hadar for these
brothers and sisters.
They fasted. They celebrated
Eid,
but that was it.
Truth is, this oppression
is being overlooked, And when youngsters in our
society, all across America,
stand up for this justice calling that you
wanna put it into this bloodshed,
they're now imprisoned.
But this resiliency
and building resiliency within ourselves,
it comes with a few different steps.
The first step of building resiliency is number
1, having trust in Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
Tawakkul.
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala in the Quran tells
us,
you will
be faced with adversity as well. Whether it's
within your health,
within your finances, within your family, or within
the political state around us, you'll be test.
And when
those tests come across,
number 1, have the law
have full hope that Allah
will change your matter. There is justice.
It's just sometimes that justice
is not when we want it, but when
Allah
knows it is best.
Your situation will change.
The difficulty that you are facing today,
that will change.
A flip will happen,
but that flip will happen when Allah
will.
And to build
resiliency
and to build a
to be steadfast and strong in these moments.
Number 2, of course, is patience.
Difficult times will come.
But imagine if the prophet sallallahu alaihi wa
sallam wasn't patient
when he went through difficulties.
That today there wouldn't be around 2.2000000000
Muslims across this world.
If the Prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam were
to call quits,
when they
martyred his daughter
Zainab,
today Islam wouldn't be at this point.
So during the time of difficulty, understanding that
this is where true patience is needed, and
this is why the prophet sallallahu alaihi wa
sallam says, true patience is when calamity strikes
you. And that when it first strikes you
to be patient at that time,
that's when true patience shows.
Number 3. The first step of building the
third step of building resiliency
is du'a to Allah
wa'ala. You and I, we do our part,
but the most powerful thing that can change
the whole matter
is du'a to Allah Subhanahu wa'ala.
And when hadith prophet salallahu alaihi wa sallam
tells us that dua is such a powerful
thing
that it can even change
the Qadr, the predestination
of Allah
has written. Again, we are in charge of
what we do, but Allah knows where our
decision will be. But du'a is that powerful
thing, that powerful weapon of a believer that
even when things are not working, you turn
to Allah
and you continue to make du'a, Allah would
change matters for you. And when hadith
tells us that remember Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
when matters are good, when things are working
for you. And if you remember Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala when things are good, Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala will answer your call when things
are difficult.
Our situation and our problem is that we
turn to Allah
whenever we face a difficulty.
But when times are good,
that du'a time is short. Why? Because alhamdulillah,
everything's good. And has short. Why? Because alhamdulillah
everything's
good.
And think about it.
It's only since after October 7th that our
du'as for our Palestinian Muslim brothers has has
really
shown.
Before October 7th, the
sad truth is many of us, we weren't
making du offer.
And this is where the prophet said, remember
Allah in the times of ease and Allah
subhanahu will be there at the times of
difficulty.
And whenever
a person
wants resi wants to build resiliency,
it's important that you
find support and seek support.
The difficult times that you are going through
in whatever realm of your life,
you're not you're not supposed to and you're
not meant to do this alone.
And for the youngsters that were imprisoned
this week,
whether it's here in Texas or in Arizona
or anywhere in America,
it is our job to show that support
that we are here with you.
Whatever hardships that come,
we stand together.
The prophet tells us,
believers
They're like a single body.
If the eye hurts and the head will
hurt,
If the head hurts the whole body will
hurt. The Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam tells us
that the Muslims are like a structure, like
a building.
If any floor falls weak or if any
floor is in danger, the whole building will
fill it.
And just because
the suffering is not of
ours,
does it mean that we don't feel the
lounge in our comfortable homes, the least the
prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam tells us, if
you see something wrong, stop it with your
action. And if you can't do that, then
at least speak up and say something about
it. And if you can't do that and
you are chilling in your luxuries, then understand
that what's happening is wrong in your heart.
And that is a lowest point of iman,
and today we are even below that low
point.
So what? It's not my children.
So what? It's not my family.
It's your story.
And the 5th step of building resiliency
is to continue to have
a positive mindset.
To have hope.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala in the Quran tells
us that, oh my servants,
continue to have hope. Do not lose hope
in the mercy of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
And one hadith Rasool Allah Wa Salam tells
us that, Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala will accept
the dua of any person,
except for the person who
calls out and loses hope and says, oh
Allah, I've been asking you for so long
and you haven't accept my du'as. What's going
on here? What's why is there a delay?
So once you lose hope in the mercy
of Allah
Lose hope in the struggle that you are
going through.
Then you're closing the doors of Allah's mercy.
So in our situation,
where
Islam is being
tested,
and Islam is now
openly.
Young kids are being imprisoned
for standing up for the truth. Why? Because
they stand in a college
courtyard,
where
the houses of our Muslim businesses are taken
away, that's not a problem. But if you
stand in a in a courtyard then that's
a problem.
If you overtake the house of a Muslim,
so what? Who who will stand up? Who
will say something against it? Is there a
Muslim country? Is there a government? Are there
people that will say something against it? Nobody
will say anything.
But if there are 20 kids or 30
kids or a handful of kids that stand
up in a courtyard of a college and
they were to say, this has to end
now, immediately there are people that stand up
and to quieten
down. So at times like this, Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala, the Quran and the hadith teaches
show and be steadfast. And the prophet salallahu
alayhi wa sallam tells us that the
the Arabic saying,
Being steadfast is greater than any miracle.
The most beloved actions of Allah subhanahu wa'ala
are the ones that you do continuously, that
you stay steadfast. You do you you don't
move.
That they give is that, imagine
in a forest, there are 2 trees, a
strong oak
tree, and a very slim bamboo tree, and
a huge
storm comes. And the strong oak
tree, which is firm, which has solid roots,
it stays steadfast
as the wind pushes it, as the wind
the rain hits it, it doesn't move.
And that bamboo tree,
as the rain hits it, it bends
it goes from side to side. It shakes
around. But once the storm is done, both
of them
are standing strong.
And what we learned from this sometimes,
when difficulty hits us,
we have to hold tight.
And sometimes you do have to bend.
You do have to adapt to the situation.
But as long as you stay steadfast and
you stay resilient,
then Insha'Allah,
matters will continue and Allah
will open doors and Allah
will show his rahma and Allah will be
sufficient for us.
A part of
wanting change
in our society
with everything that's happening, the Muslims in our
community do not use their voice,
If the Muslims in our community do not
use
their
voice,
then
no one will care about our pain.
People will not care about our struggle.
But the Muslim voice matters.
The Muslim voice has power to it. When
you walk into the masjid today,
outside,
you would have saw
people that are running for elections in our
local elections.
There's John Keating. He's been out there for
the last 2 weeks.
Angela, he's been out for there for the
last 2 weeks. You know why they're out
there?
Because your voice has power in it.
And if our voice and if our vote
did
had had no power in it, trust me,
they would be somewhere else.
The reason why
they are there,
because they want to support the Muslims and
they want the Muslims to
support
them. But our problem is, unfortunately, is that
when it comes to the polls,
when it comes to being active within our
community,
how many of us actually go out and
vote?
It may take an hour or so out
of our time,
but
they are telling us just by being out
there that your vote matters.
If we thought if if it did not
matter, they would be somewhere else.
Tomorrow is the last day of our local
votes.
And if we can't make a difference
There's an Arabic saying.
That person said that
I will change the world, and
he was asked after some time, what happened?
He said, I failed. So what I'll do
is I will change my country.
Then he was asked, what happened? I failed.
What I'll do is I will change my
state.
What happened?
I failed. I would change my
locality.
What happened? I failed. I would change my
family. What happened? I failed and now this
person, oh, nothing has changed and he said,
I wish I started the opposite way around.
If I chained myself, I could have chained
my family.
And if I chained my family, I could
have chained my community. And if I chained
my community, I could have chained my locality.
And then I could have chained the state.
And then I could have chained the country.
And then I could have chained the world.
So these local votes
within frisco may seem small, and you may
think that it's not a big deal,
but that change has to start from somewhere.
And for our pain to be heard,
with everything that's happening,
our first step is to show the power
that the Muslims have within our voting. And
this is why tomorrow is the last day
of the local votes. Please, please, please go
out until I myself will go out and
vote. I I highly encourage everybody to show
our power, you know, that the Muslim the
Muslims have. Allah,
he orders us and tells,
Oh Allah we ask that you help our
Muslim brothers and sisters in Palestine. Oh Allah
we ask that you put an end to
their oppression. Oh Allah we ask that you
give them peace. Oh Allah we ask that
you shower your mercy upon them. Oh, Allah
subhanahu wa'ala. Until when will kids continue to
become orphan. Until when will mothers continue to
lose their children. Until when will women become
widow. Oh, Allah subhanahu wa'ala. Until when will
they no longer have safety. Oh, Allah subhanahu
wa'ala. Until when will they worry about food?
Until when will they worry about peace? Oh,
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. All they need is
one for you. Oh, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
We ask these say.
Oh, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. There's nobody to
stand up for them. Oh, Allah, people have
turned
a blind eye to them. Oh, Allah, there
are small groups are working and helping and
trying to aid them. Oh, Allah, those are
trying to aid them, oh, Allah, we ask
that you give them success, Oh Allah, we
ask that you have mercy upon the Muslim
umrah wherever they may be. Oh Allah, have
mercy upon the Muslims here in America. Oh
Allah, subhanahu, do not test us, and do
not test the Muslim umrah more than what
we can bear.
Oh, Allah. We ask for good in this
dunya. Oh, Allah. We ask for good in
the hereafter. Oh, Allah. We ask that you
keep the Muslim united. Oh, Allah. We ask
that wherever there is a Muslim that's going
through any type of difficulty, that you remove
that difficulty from their past. Oh, Allah.
We ask that you forgive our sins. Oh,
Allah, we ask that you to overlook our
shortcomings. Oh, Allah, we ask that you pardon
our mistakes. Oh, Allah, we ask that you
guide our use. Oh, Allah, we ask that
you keep them in the straight path. Oh,
Allah,
we ask for Jannah.
Oh, Allah,
we seek protections for our agenda. And action
that bring us close to fire agenda. Oh,
Allah we ask that you be pleased with
this. Oh, Allah be pleased with
this.
