Allah.
Allahu
Akbar Allahu
Akbar
We start out by praising Allah,
the one who is worthy of all of
our praise and our gratitude. It is Allah
who watches over our condition. It is Allah
who
gives us hope at the time of difficulties.
It is Allah
who is with us
in our good times and is with us
in our difficult times.
It is Allah
who is the most just, and nothing goes
unseen
from his justice.
We then send peace and blessing upon the
prophet,
the one that was sent as not just
a mercy to mankind, but as a complete
example.
To show us how
to react at the times of
adversity, at the times where we are being
tested.
Within some peace and blessings upon the companions
of and
the family members of the prophet
and about thereafter.
Without a doubt,
the
biggest burden
on the Muslim
at this moment
is the situation of our brothers and sisters.
It's to the point that
for many of us, the first thing that
we wake
up first thing that we do when we
wake up is check our phones to see,
is there any news?
And whether that news is good or bad,
we have hope in the loss of
that maybe
today there might be some good news.
And we go to sleep with that same
worry.
And every time we
raise our hands to Allah,
the reality is our personal duas have actually
taken a back seat.
Where my duas of my health, and my
duas of my safety, and then my duas
of my prosperity
at this current moment,
like, every single one of us in this
room
isn't the main concern anymore
because the main concern is
our brothers and sisters.
The main concern is the situation of humanity.
Because people are losing their lives, and these
are people that are simple, like the way
you and I are.
The way that we dream of
a future with our children, these people had
the same dream.
But then they wake up,
and their children are no longer there.
Mothers are losing their babies.
Children
are being carried by their fathers, and the
fathers are trying to take them, but have
no idea where to go. Why? Because
they no longer have a home.
What was a what was a home yesterday
is now just a pile of rubble.
It's a pile
of stone
that's lined.
And as this
injustice
in the dunya carries on,
what we see
is on the other side,
the information that's being spread is just so
one-sided,
Where a certain narrative is being repeated over
and over and over.
And every news outlet
shared the same thing. It's as if all
they're doing is copying and pasting, copying and
pasting.
That the weak people,
the people that are being oppressed are the
ones that are wrong.
And the sad thing is,
this is actually
affecting
people at a global
scale,
where
people in our community here in America
take on that narrative and believe it.
This past week
here in America,
in Chicago,
we suffered a huge,
huge, huge tragedy.
We're a young boy,
and this shakes me as I say it,
of just 6 years
old. Not more than this kid right here.
6 year old kid
whose landlord,
a person
that
the family trusted,
comes in
and not just stabs the mother,
but then goes on to stab the child,
the 6 year old child. And you have
to think what that person's state of mind
must have been, and how much
hatred was fed into that mind that this
person now believes in this
narrative so much
that he looks at this young child, and
when I look at a child, when you
look at a child, our hearts, all they
think of is mercy, and this person, when
he's, when he sees this child, he thinks
hatred. And this hatred is so much that
he ends up stabbing this child
26 times.
26 times.
You you you wouldn't even do that to
an animal.
Let alone a human being. Let alone a
child of just 6 years old.
But this is the effects
of the narrative that's being spread.
To the point that
in this young boy's,
Janaza, his mother is not there.
And this child's name is a name that
we should never forget,
Wadhir
Al Fayoumi.
His mother is not there. Why? Because she's
on life support, and the family has no
idea if she will survive.
But his last words,
as this animal is tearing into him,
he says to his mother, it's going to
be okay.
It's going to be fine.
It's as if Allah
opened the situation of the akhirah to this
child and says,
your reward is here.
And you look at this in the history
of mankind, and we see that this is
not the first time
that it's an example, it's a reflection
of
Asiya Bintemuzahin
when Firon was torturing her in this unimaginable
ways, and she, through this pain, is saying
to Allah,
oh my lord,
make me a house
by you.
What's happening here, the oppression that I'm going
through, it's okay
as long as my reward is with you.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala in Surah Baruj talks
about Ashab ul Uhudud.
And in this lengthy story of Ashab ul
Uhudud, the situation
the situation is such
that the king has dug up these trenches
and fire is put into it. And this
mother who's holding her child is now at
this point where she has to make a
decision, either she leaves her faith,
or she's thrown into this fire.
And she's worried about her young child.
And the prophet in
the narration of
he says that this child actually spoke up
and said the same words, it's okay.
It's fine.
Go ahead.
Everything
will be okay.
And his mother
then jumps into the fire.
But this
now raises a question amongst us
that we ask ourselves so much, what can
I do?
What should I do?
But the reality is that every action,
it's not necessary that every action has a
value.
You may think to yourself, if I engage
in a discussion with this person, or if
I post this certain thing,
or if I share this hatred, or if
I, you know,
react with aggression,
it may be good,
or they deserve
it.
The reality is, as Muslims,
value comes into our actions through the Quran
and the
because this right here is our moral compass.
For us, anything that we do, we ask
ourselves,
does it align with the Quran and the?
And at times like this,
where the Muslims
question themselves,
return to the Quran and the sunnah,
and Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, one verse comes
to my mind.
And this verse, we actually spoke about so
much last month because last month was and
when we talked about the pro the prophet
sallallahu alaihi wasallam, we said,
And, usually, this ayah is used when you
talk to somebody about loving the prophet and
implementing the sunnah into their lives. But the
reality is
this ayah was revealed at a very unique
time.
The Surah is.
When the Muslims
are in a situation
like the Muslims are today,
the Muslims are cornered off. They're under blockade.
On one side, they have the mountains. On
the other side, they have these trenches.
And beyond these trenches
are the Quraysh.
And as as if this wasn't bad enough.
And the Muslims had this plan, and the
plan was that we're gonna stretch out the
battle so long that the opposition, the Quraysh,
turn around and leave.
And this is what the Muslims do. But
within this,
the Jewish tribes of Banu Quraydah,
who were under treaty
with the Muslims,
They,
at the time of war,
broke their pact.
And they opened the doors to the and
they said to the that, look, we have
these forts. You can't go around the trenches,
but let us open our forts to you,
and you can come through our forts
and attack the Muslims.
The highest level of treason.
He hears about this,
and the narration says the prophet
was so much under stress
that he laid down flat. He couldn't even
sit up. He was laying down on the
ground.
And he said to the companions, can somebody
go and check?
Find out, is this true?
Because every news that you get
is not necessary. That's the reality.
And the prophet
verified it. And this companion comes and says,
And he actually the prophet said to him
that when you come and tell me, don't
tell me directly. Don't give me a yes
or no. Kind of
say in subtle words.
And this companion comes, and he gives
the hint that, yes, this is true.
Stands up with the Muslims,
and what does he say?
Guys,
we have to go and attack. We have
to do something wrong. No.
The prophet salallahu alaihi wa sallam stands up
and he says, Allah
will give us victory. Allah
will open the doors of Makkah and soon
you or I will be doing umrah
around the Kaaba.
In a moment that the Muslims were crushed,
all hopes gone,
the enemy on the other side, and now
the enemy is going to attack. And it's
been 30 days, and the condition of the
Muslims is such that they didn't have food,
they didn't have water, they've been blocked in
to this corner, and rasulullah salallahu alaihi wa
sallam turns around and says, have hope in
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
Because this is a true sunnah of rasulullah
salallahu alaihi wa sallam.
The sunnah of the prophet salallahu alaihi wasallam
is that when your back is against the
wall and things are not good,
remember you will always have your relationship with
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala. The prophet salallahu alaihi
wasallam sunnah is to give hope,
and he gives hopes to these companions.
And Allah
captures this in
Surah Azaab
where he says,
When the enemies came from above you
and from
under you, within you, you had enemies all
around you.
And your eyes couldn't believe
what they were seeing.
The images that you see on your Instagram
feed,
the news that you get, you can't even
believe what's happening.
And their hearts reached up to their throats.
Emotionally,
we are in a mess.
Emotionally,
our hearts
are confused.
Because this much pain,
where it's one layer after another layer,
we get news of corporate bombings, then we
get news of destruction of a hospital, then
we get news of thousands of babies dying,
and now we get the news of wadir.
And this is something that, for us, it's
a dream now,
that one day, this oppression will stop.
And you get you begin to think about
Allah, some weird thoughts that why is Allah
letting this happen? Where is Allah?
And
in the Quran, Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, he
captures this as well, where people say,
When will the help of Allah come? A
question that we've asked ourselves so many times
in the past week. Where is the help
of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala? Why is this
happening? And Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala says, Allah,
listen up.
Open your ears.
Believe this.
The help of Allah
is closed.
The help of Allah
is near.
And sometimes you will see the help of
Allah, and other times you won't see the
help of Allah. In the battle of Badr,
the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam and their companions
saw the angels coming down.
But in the battle of Uhad,
they didn't see the angels, but the angels
were there.
So the help of Allah
is around the corner,
and then Allah
says,
now we've tested the believers.
And and
the Muslims all across the world
are shaken.
It's as if Surah Al Azzab
is speaking to every single one of us
right now.
And then Allah subhanahu wa'ala carries on and
says, why is this happening?
So that there are 2 groups.
Those people whose iman are weak and they're
hypocrites,
and they turn away from the deen. And
then there are those people, like you and
I, who have hope in these hard times,
we connect ourselves to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
And Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
So Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala can reward those
that are truthful.
So we turn to
the seer of
and we look how the prophet
dealt
and how he reacted in times like this.
And this is what Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
tells us.
You know, in the life of the prophet
Sallallahu Alaihi
Wasallam, there was
a situation
where
a group of companions
were
ambushed, and they were massacred.
And the crazy thing is, in this 1
year, in the 4th year of migration, it
happened twice.
The incident of Raji were a small group
of companions. They were ambushed, and all of
them were killed.
And then Bir and Ma'ona
were 70 companions
that were teachers.
They were ambushed and killed.
And the prophet
knew who did this.
But how did the prophet
react?
What did the prophet
do at a time like this?
And you see rasoolallahu alaihi wa sallam turn
to his connection with Allah subhanahu alaihi wa
sallam.
The reality is that we overlook our connection
with Allah subhanahu. We overlook the hope that
that gives us, the strength that that gives
us. But the prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam,
he reads
for
30 days
at a time like this.
He didn't do something
abruptly.
He didn't just go and, you know, do
something wrong. But,
he taught the companion and taught you and
I, when this happens, and it will continue
to happen,
few days ago, it was Rohingya, then it
was Yemen, today is Palestine, tomorrow will be
something else. Hardships
will keep coming. Allah
in the Quran tells us
that, do you think
you can just say,
You can just say, I believe in Allah
and Allah won't test that hardship.
Hardships came to Rasulullah
as well.
Difficulties came to the prophet
so this will keep happening.
But then we ask ourselves,
why do we connect it to ourselves to
Allah at a time like this?
Because our iman and our faith
is what gives us strength and power.
It's not our numbers.
And one time, one hadith was
sitting with a companion and says that
a time will come
where Muslims
will
be tortured in a way that nations will
call one another and invite one another, come.
Have a peace. The way that you invite
each other for dinner,
for dawat, for dessert, for chai,
come. Eat with us.
That people will eat from the Muslim and
hurt the Muslim and torture the Muslim and
persecute the Muslim in the same way. And
the companions ask,
how is that possible?
Are we going to be small in numbers?
Rasulullah
said, no.
You'll be 1,600,000,000
Muslims on the face of the earth,
but
the example he gives is like the bubbles
on the bed of the ocean.
The strength in iman,
that won't be there.
And this is why connecting ourselves to Allah,
subhanahu wa ta'ala, through du'a. And not just
that.
Our responsibility
living here in the west is
our voice.
You think about this landlord
who
had a good relationship with his family, but
then turned into an animal. Why? Because of
all the negative things that he was being
fed.
In reality is,
the people around us,
they're being fed that same negative
narration over and over
and over and over
on their feeds, on their social media, on
the news, everywhere they're being told the same
thing that Muslims are wrong. Muslims are wrong.
So it's our responsibility
to go and share that correct narrative.
And not just through words, but through our
actions.
Because, of course, actions speak louder than words.
By showing the of a Muslim,
by showing the characteristic
of what a Muslim
is.
And beyond that,
our responsibility
is our own family.
If you and I think that our schools
are going to teach our children
what's happening,
then
we're joking.
That's not gonna happen.
It's up to us to let our children
know
the history of Gaza,
the history of the Muslim,
why this is happening,
what's happening.
Because if you don't do that, the narrative
that's gonna be fed to your child as
well
is a narrative that's being pushed to these
teachers through the media.
So as Muslims, as we sit here and
grieve in a time,
we're not just our brothers and sisters
across
the world
are being tortured, but also,
it's having a global impact.
We are ambassadors to preach and share the
message of the prophet
And the message of the prophet
is that
mankind,
humanity,
life is sacred no matter whose it is.
Whether that person is Muslim or not Muslim,
if that person is being oppressed,
then it's our responsibility to do something about
it.
Rasoolallah Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam al alaihi says,
Unsur akhaka
waliman omadloom.
Help your brother.
If he's the one that's oppressing,
or if he's the one that's being oppressed.
The companion asks, You Rasoolallah, we understand how
we can help the one that's being oppressed,
but how do we help the one that's
oppressing? And rasulullah
says, stop him.
If it's a Muslim that's doing it, no
matter who's doing it,
that Rasulullah salallahu alaihi wa sallam didn't just
care and advocate and, you know, show respect
to Muslims, but it was universal to everybody.
Rasulullah salallahu alaihi wa sallam sees his janazah,
and he stands up in respect.
The companions ask, you Rasulullah, the janaza is
of a Jewish man. Why are you standing
up?
And Rasulullah
says
that isn't he
a blessed soul? A soul that Allah
created?
Isn't this a person, a human being?
And this shares to us a very important
message,
that we feel this pain
multiplied because it's our brothers and sisters. But
if it was not our brothers and sisters
and it was any nation
where wrong is being done, that pain must
be there as well.
So in these difficult times, we turn to
the Quran and the sunnah
of to find hope and build our strength
in Allah
Oh, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, we ask for
your help.
Oh, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, we ask that
you help our brothers and sisters that are
being persecuted in Gaza.
Oh, Allah,
we ask for peace in Palestine.
Oh, Allah,
we ask though we ask that you help
those
that are being forced out of their homes.
Oh, Allah, they have nowhere to go but
to you. Oh, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, they
have nobody to ask for help. Oh, Allah,
today we stand here and we ask for
help on their behalf. Oh, Allah,
help the Muslim.
Oh, Allah,
thousands of babies
are being killed.
Oh, Allah
let this
senseless murder come to me.
Oh, Allah
we ask that the pain that the parents
are going through right now, oh Allah, that
you give them reward for it, that you
ease their pain.
Oh Allah,
our beloved son, Wadeer.
Oh Allah, we ask that you fill his
grave with.
Oh Allah, wherever
in the world there's another Wadeer
that's lost their life like him. Oh Allah,
we ask that you
bless their family. Oh Allah subhanahu wa'ala, their
other is only with you. Oh Allah, we
ask that tomorrow let there not be another
wadeer. Oh Allah, we ask that you protect
our children and protect our communities. Oh Allah,
subhanahu wa ta'ala, we ask that you make
us people that show
the reality of Islam.
Oh Allah,
we ask that you make us people who
open the eyes
of the people around us about what's actually
happening. Oh, Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala, we ask
that you give us peace within our community.
Oh, Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala,
we ask that you bless everybody that is
being persecuted with Jannah. Oh, Allah, subhanahu wa
ta'ala, we ask that you give them peaceful
days. Oh, Allah, subhanahu
wa ta'ala,
we ask for an end
to this
constant battle. Oh, Allah, Muslims have been tortured
for a long time.
Oh Allah, Muslims have been tortured all across
the world. Oh Allah, we ask you return
it in honor to the Muslims.
Oh Allah
We ask for Jannah and the action that
brings us close to Jannah. Oh Allah, we
seek protection for the fire of Jannah, and
the action that brings us closer to fire
of Jannah. Oh, Allah, at the end of
the day, all we want is that you
are pleased with us. Oh, Allah, be pleased
with us. Oh, Allah, be pleased with us.
Oh, Allah, be pleased with us.
So
before
before we start to log, just a reminder
just a reminder.
With everything that's happening around the world,
at the same time,
our community, alhamdulillah, we've been in an effort
to expand our masjid.
As if you turn around, you'll see that
there are people all the way to the
end, and this is our 3rd salah. There
are very few masjid that actually have 3
salahs. We are we have to have 3
salahs because there are people all the way
to the end. And we've been working on
this construction,
and we're hoping to open our doors.
What's the need of the construction? What's the
need of the construction? The need of the
construction is The need of the construction
is it ties all together. It ties all
together. So we have a place where our
children can be educated. We have a place
where our children can find home in the
Masjid. If our children do not find a
place in the Masjid, then
Allah's allah aatna what's gonna happen to our
community 10 years down the line. 20 years
down the line. 20 years down the line.
So because of this, on November 5th, we
have a fundraiser. We've been making this announcement.
We've been reaching out to everybody.
