On Wednesdays, we've been talking about the different
events that take place that took place in
the month of showered.
And we started
off the first week talking about the marriage
of Rasulullah salallahu alayhi
wa
sallam. In week number 2, we spoke
about the battle of
that took place in the month of Shawwa.
And we actually just were able to cover
the build up to Uhud and not even
go into the battle.
But the battle, again, is something that we
hear about a lot. So Insha'Allah, this week
we'll move on ahead.
When Rasool Allahu alaihi wa sallam came into
Madinah,
the background of Madinah was
that there were 3 Jewish tribes that were
settled in Madinah.
And there were 2 Arab tribes. And the
2 Arab tribes, they always had this rivalry
between the 2. And of course, the 2
Arab tribes were and Khazarij. And of course,
the 2 Arab tribes were and Khazarij. And
of course, the 2 Arab tribes were and
the 3 Jewish tribes that were in Madina.
You had Banu and
Banu
These were the 3 Jewish tribes.
When the prophet came into Madinah in the
1st year, Raul Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, he established
treaties with these 3 tribes saying that, look,
you will not attack us. We will not
attack you. We will live within Madinah
with harmony.
We've already had a rough
few years in Mecca. Now that we're in
Madinah, we want to live here in harmony.
So Rasool Allahu,
you're number 1, put together
these treaties with the Jewish tribes.
The
battle of Badr, and we know that the
battle of Badr was in what month?
In the following month in Shawwal, the Jewish
tribe of Banuqaynuqah,
they went and they said to the prophet
that don't get too happy.
You fought the courage.
If you were to fight men like us,
the outcome would be different.
For them to just say that,
it was a threat to the Muslims,
meaning that they are not actually
honoring the treaty
of having peace with the Muslims. Victorious. On
top of this, Banu Kaynuka had a stronghold
when it came to the marketplace in Madi
and Domenawura. They had a
good grip on the marketplace.
If some
they had a good grip on the marketplace.
If somebody wanted to do business, it had
to go through Banukai.
And one time, there was a Muslim lady
that was in the marketplace.
And some of the Jewish men from Banukai
Nukai came and disrespected her And when this
happened, the prophet, salallahu alaihi wa sallam, said
there are certain things that we can, you
know, we can deal with. We will, you
know,
put up
with. But there are certain things that we
won't put up.
And the honor of the women, the honor
of our
the Muslim ladies, that's something that is not
for niggosier.
The other two tribes And if you look
at all three tribes, the prophet sallallahu alaihi
wa sallam, actually he had the same approach
when it came to all the tribes that
look,
just lie badina
and
leave.
However, when it came to
Banu Queda actually, let's go to Banu Nadeem,
so that we're in order.
Banu Nadeem the prophets of Allah dealt with
Banu Nadeem in the 4th year of Hijra.
And
the treaty that the sorry, the Jewish tribes
have with the prophet that
not only will we live in peace, but
if either one of the 2
have to pay blood money, and the blood
money was a 100 camels,
which would financially be a burden on whoever
had to pay that money.
And it happened to be that the Muslims
had to pay blood money times 2. And
that's a long story about why it happened,
but it all links in. You know, a
very interesting skill of Rassallahu alaihi wa sallam.
So the prophet
he goes to Banu Nasir and says, look,
contractually
you
and us have to share the burden
of the blood money of these two people.
Banu Nasir said to Rasool Allahahu alaihi wa
sallam,
how about you come to our locality,
and we'll talk about it. You come to
us, come to our neighborhood, and we'll talk
about it.
When said, look at this person.
He's coming and demanding us to pay for
him.
And an attempt was made on an assassination
of Rasallallahu alaihi
wasallam came and told the prophet sallallahu alaihi
wasallam
immediately left without even telling the other companions
and rasoolallahu alaihi wa sallam went and said
that, this is what happened and they dealt
with Banun Adi.
And there's a bit of controversy that rasoolallahu
alaihi wa sallam, he first
surrounded the tribe, they laid siege on the
forts of Banun Adi for a long period
time and they weren't able to, you know,
defeat these forts
until the prophet salallahu alaihi wa sallam said,
the trees and the orchards that they have,
in the pathway, in that which was a
roadblock,
burned them down,
Burn them down and then attack. And when
they did this, the Muslims were victorious.
And a lot of people,
they raised an objection that the Prophet Sallallahu
Alaihi Wasallam, he had these orchards and these
trees burnt down, whereas when it comes to
the rules of engagement,
in Islam, we're not allowed to
we're not allowed to, you know, cut the
trees, or we're not allowed to damage building,
we're not allowed to attack the, you know,
innocent, we're not allowed to attack the women,
the children, the elderly. But then why do
the prophets Allah love how they were sending
to do this? And reasoning behind it is,
where it's prohibited to cut the trees, it's
so that you're not destroying the economy of
the low quality. But this was necessary for
war.
Rasool Allah he then deals with Banu Nasir
and then when it comes to Banu Quraysa
Banu Quraysa,
in the battle of the, of the trenches,
battle of handak, the prophet sallallahu alaihi wa
sallam where he was facing Quraysh and their
allies, Allah SubhanAllah says that they attacked you
from above, and from underneath and also within
you. And this was the Jewish tribe Banuk
Uraydah that
actually
Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam and fought against the Muslims
when it came to the battle of handaq.
And this was also called the Battle of
Hazab. Why? Because there are different treaties different
groups that came and attacked. Now, when the
Prophet sallallahu
alaihi
wasallam dealt with Banuk Qureza
and Banu Quraydah, again, they stepped onto the
battlefield. So this treachery was at a greater
level. Rasool Allah sallallahu alaihi wa sallam when
he laid siege to the forts of Banu
Quraydah.
Banu Quraydah said that, we will surrender
on condition
that our
punishment is given by one of us and
not by you.
Not by the prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam,
but a person that was from our tribe
before.
You know, he was one of the very
few casualties that the Muslims suffered in the
battle of conduct. He was
hit on his throat,
in his neck with a, by a straight
a straight a straight a straight arrow.
Sa'ad bin Ma'ad, they brought his bed
to Banu Quraydah and Sa'ad bin Ma'ad, he
says that, I will judge you
not based on Muslim law, but I will
judge you based on Jewish law. That way
you have no objection. What can you say?
You can't say anything.
If I judge you based on Muslim law,
you will say that it's unfair.
But I will judge you based off of
Jewish law and the Jewish law of treason
is
And that's how
Banu Quraydah was dealt with. And these were
the 3 Jewish tribes Banu Quraydah and Banu
Quraydah Rasool Allah dealt with in the month
of Shawwal.
Banu Nadir, they attempted to assassinate Rasool Allah
and then the last one,
they met the Muslims on the battlefield during
the battle of,
So I just wanted to go over this
incident. It happens in the month of Shawwal.
Inshallah next week, we'll bring another incident that
happens in the month of Shawwal.
Assalamu alaikum.
