We praise Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
and we send our peace and blessings to
our noble prophet Muhammad alayhi salatu wa salam.
And I remind myself and yourselves on this
blessed and noble day of yomuljumu'ah
to fear Allah. To fear Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala As Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala reminded us
of this in the holy Quran when he
said,
Oh you who believe, fear Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala the way you should be feared and
do not die except in the state of
submission to Him. We ask Allah to die
in a state, and we ask Allah to
be resurrected in a state. We ask
Allah
to make us live our lives in a
state. Ameen yarablihaalameen.
Brothers and sisters,
our deen,
our faith,
our iman,
our Islam,
our guidance.
It's one of the greatest bounties that Allah
bestowed upon us.
And the greatest things that Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala
can give someone
in this world.
There's not a single
matter in this dunya,
not a single materialistic
possession,
not a single state of mind,
not a single feeling
that a person can have.
Nothing
is greater
than the gift
of guidance to Islam.
Allah
only guides those
who He loves
and those who He sees with His divine
wisdom
to have qualities
that are befitting of a believer.
So Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
chooses
whom he guides
to this faith.
And the fact that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
chose us
to be Muslimeen,
and chose us to be Muslimeen, and to
and chose us to be sitting here in
Jumu'ah
to remember Him.
In this weekly
obligation that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala bestowed upon
us is a great namawalla.
An namah
that every Muslim should be proud of.
We should wake up and be grateful to
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala for.
A nama.
That is the greatest nama. Because no matter
what we lose in this world,
no matter what we look at others and
we see that we don't have,
no matter how little we see ourselves or
how much,
there is nothing greater that we can be
given
than the niyamah of hidayah and guidance.
So for this great niyamah.
Brothers and sisters,
in these times that we live in,
there are people
that are born
as Muslims,
live as muslims,
perhaps
perform
some of the acts of worship as muslims,
But are not
thankful to Allah
and grateful to Allah that they are Muslim.
And they are not proud of their faith.
As a matter of fact,
they tried to conceal
and to hide
and to make sure that their faith is
not shown to others.
Because
there is something
in the heart
that needs to be fixed.
Something
that
the Sahaba before us fixed.
And something that because of this Allah gave
them
their the highest strengths in the akhirah
and gave them and
establishment
and victory in this dunya.
What is this feeling that these sahaba had?
That Allah
took them from being camel herders in the
desert.
People from a negligible civilization
in the middle of a desert.
People that had no mention in history,
took them and made them
and made them
from amongst the nobles
of the civilizations
around them.
People
that until today are studied
and are learned about
and are taught
in the most prestigious
universities.
Someone like Amir
Someone who understood
the value of this iman,
this faith
that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala gave him. He
knew where he was
and he knew where he
what what he became
because of this faith.
In a famous story,
Umar ibn Khattab
was summoned
as the Muslim
armies
approached
the
borders
or the walls of the city of Jerusalem,
Al Quds.
And on the walls,
all of the priests and the monks,
they stood upon the wall and the head
of them
said,
this door
will not be opened
unless it's for the person that we see
in our biblical prophecy.
So the Muslimian
told them, And who is this person? They
said, We won't know until you bring your
leader.
So they summoned Umar ibn Khattab
who was the khalifa
at that time.
And on his long journey from Al Madin
al Munawara
all the way to the doors of al
Quds, the doors of Jerusalem,
he had a deal
with his servant
that he would ride a portion of the
time,
and his servant would ride a portion of
the time.
And when one is riding, the other one
will
grab the reins
of this camel and would walk
and vice versa.
And as they approached
the doors of Jerusalem,
it was
Amir al mumineen, Amr Bilukhatab,
who mind you,
had
the Muslims at that time had
conquered lands
beyond Rome and Persia.
It was the north of Levant and present
day Syria, Iraq,
and parts of of Persia, Iran, and and
even deeper in in Khorasan.
And it spread to Yemen and North Africa.
And Umar al Khattab this
Khalifa,
he
it was his turn to grab the reins
of this camel,
and the servant was the one riding it.
And as they approach Jerusalem,
Abu Ubayd al Jarrah,
who was the leader of the Muslim armies
who were besieging it at that time, he
came to him and said, You Amirul mumineen,
your throb is patched
and raggedy
and you're walking barefoot. As Umar ibn Khattab
had taken his shoes off because he didn't
want to dirty them, and he was walking
barefoot, and he had his shoes under his
armpit
and with the other hand
he grabbed the reins of this camel and
riding it was his servant.
And as he approached,
Abu Ubaydah said, This is not befitting of
the Khalifa of Islam
to be seen.
This great
dynasty.
You are the khalifa of the Muslimiyan. Abu
Ubaydah
thought that it wasn't befitting. Umar al Khattab
instantly replied.
He said, Oh,
you Abu Ubayda
said,
if it was someone other than you
that said this, I would have beat you
to the ground.
What you said is intolerable,
inconceivable
to a Muslim.
How dare you say something like this, You
Abu Ubaydah?
I thought you were more intelligent than this.
We are a people You Abu Ubaydah and
you know who we are.
We are a people that Allah
dignified
and raised with Islam.
And the moment we start seeking dignity
and honor
in other than Islam,
Allah will humiliate us to that extent.
I am coming here with what? With Islam
only. And that's all I need.
Me,
him, and his patched up thawb,
and his
hoof that was under his armpit,
and
the camel without guards and without an entourage
as the
as the kings and the and the leaders
had at that time. I don't know.
That's not what we needed.
When he walked to the doors
of Al Quds,
they saw that he fits the description of
this prophecy that was in the bible before.
And they said, You know, it was this
description
that we had in our prophecy. Here is
the key to the quds.
And the quds was allowed.
And the Muslimi and went in without a
battle, without a war, without bloodshed.
And this is the message of Islam.
And mind you, even when he entered,
he said, where is your place of worship?
Where they worshiped,
Aisa alaihis salaam,
who they believed is God.
Where shirk took place,
he saw their church. He said, is this
your church where you worship?
They said, Yes. He said, Then why are
you not taking care of it?
Why is
it raggedy? Why are the moldings in the
building? Why are the bricks and the mortars
falling apart?
And he commanded the Muslims, the
the ones who testify that there's no god
but Allah to fix up this place.
Because it's not befitting
for a place like this. Look at the
message of Islam.
And since then, Umar ibn Khattab gave the
key
of this church to a Muslim family
from Al Quds. He gave it to them
so that they can open it every single
day for the Christian worshipers to go and
pray and to lock it up at night.
And until today,
the same Muslim family inherits this key
and opens the church. Until today, until the
day we speak,
right now, a Muslim family opens the door
to the church and closes it at night.
Imagine this. This is the adla of Islam.
We are a people
like Umar
said that Allah honored
and dignified
with Islam.
If we seek honor and dignity
in our garments,
in our citizenship,
in our languages,
in our skin color,
in the way we speak, in the people
we associate with, in the neighborhood that we
live in.
Islam.
And the moment we drop everything
and we are proud of our Islam, we
are grateful to Allah for being guided to
such a beautiful
faith, then Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will raise
us and dignify us with it
and with it only.
Wallahi, we will have no mention
in history
if it weren't for the nama of Islam.
Alhamdulillah
for La ilaha illallah.
Alhamdulillah
that we were guided to say there is
no God but Allah.
Alhamdulillah
that we don't have a faith
that has secret symbols and messages and and
what not. That has a hidden book that
only the priests and the monks and and
whatnot can understand.
Alhamdulillah,
we have a faith that's accessible
to everyone, by everyone.
It's clear.
The prophet said,
it is a clear
white cloth.
Its night and its day are the same.
The only one who misses it is the
one who's deemed
to be doomed.
That's it.
This faith is so clear.
It has
everything we need to live an upright life.
Everything we need
to live dignified,
everything we need to live with our heads
held up high. All we need is to
embrace
it
and not feel shy to embrace it.
Brothers and sisters,
Allah gave us this beautiful gift.
And the only way,
the only way
we can thank Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala for
it
is to accept this gift from him.
To live
it, to protect it, to honor it,
and
to
demonstrate to show everyone around us that we
are very proud
of it.
We ask Allah
to make us steadfast on this faith. We
ask
Allah
to guide us with and through Islam.
We ask Allah
to guide our progeny to Islam and to
keep them steadfast and firm on this faith.
Brothers and sisters,
we all have problems.
We all have problems in life,
and we encounter issues and difficulties.
And this is part of this world that
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
put us in. It's not perfect.
It was only made to be a test.
But I'm here to tell you, if you
have a problem,
then be a proud Muslim.
You want the solution to your problem? Be
a Muslim.
If you feel
no purpose in life,
then be a Muslim and know that Allah
created you to worship Him and to establish
His laws on this land and for you
to be the successor of them and 2
carry this
responsibility
with amanah and trust.
If you feel lazy, then be a Muslim.
And get up and wash up and pray
5 times a day and stand before your
Lord in those movements that Allah deemed to
be the most beneficial movements for every one
of His creations here.
Every one of these humans, Allah told us
to pray this way.
Brothers and sisters,
if you feel lack of focus
in life, then be a muslim
and practice
focusing
5 times a day in every salah through
hushuah,
through pondering, through reflecting,
through having tadabr on them on the verses
of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
If you
feel lack of empathy,
then be a Muslim and practice fasting.
Practice fasting so you could learn
what other peoples
what other people feel, people that do not
eat, people that are less privileged. Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala did not bestow His blessings
upon them the way he did to you.
Thank Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala for that.
If you feel
stingy
and miserly and like you do not like
to give, then the solution is be a
Muslim
so that you can give zakah
and give from your wealth and give charity
and teach your nafs how to give.
If you feel like you are you have
racism
or you discriminate against others for their colors,
for their languages,
for their tongues and the way they speak,
for how short and or tall they are,
for their economic status.
If you feel like you
you look at people differently because of this,
then be a Muslim
and go to hajj
and wear ihram.
Or go to umrah and wear ihram and
see that you're equal to everyone
regardless of language, regardless of race, regardless of
size, regardless
of of of tribe or ethnic origin or
anything of that sort.
If you regret
a lot of things in life
and you have a lot of remorse for
things that happened to you in the past,
then be a Muslim
and know that no one can change what
Allah
decreed for you and decreed upon you.
And that whatever Allah decreed
was going to happen to you regardless.
Even if the whole world were to come
together to prevent it from happening. It is
going and was going and should have went
that way because Allah wrote it for you.
Embrace it, accept it. Be a Muslim, accept
the decree of Allah
Islam
is the only way
brothers and sisters to cope with the troubles
of life. The only way
to understand our true purpose. The only way
to live an upright living. Allah
said,
He is the one who sent his messenger
with guidance.
And true
the true faith.
The true faith.
So that it may prevail
over every other religion
or belief or faith.
Even if the ones who associate partners with
Allah
dislike it, and they will dislike it.
Because when they hear Allah
being supplicated
to alone,
they feel
like their hearts confined.
And they're only happy
when partners are associated with him. But alhamdulillah
for the niyama of Islam, and alhamdulillah
for the nima of believing in Allah. One
of the salaf, they told him,
what is the greatest
thing
given to you? If there's the greatest thing
you can imagine that was given to you,
what is it?
He said
that the greatest thing to me
and for me is that
my lord is Allah and no one else.
Alhamdulillah.
Alhamdulillah
that Allah our lord is arrahman,
Allah
is the one who's in control of our
fate. Allah is the one who's steering our
life. Allah is the one who wrote the
book
of our destiny. What will happen to us?
So Alhamdulillah,
there's no greater nama
than that, to Allah. So let us embrace
this, let us be proud of it, let
us thank Allah
for this, on this blessed day of yawmuljum'ah,
And let us ask Allah
on this blessed day to
keep us steadfast on this faith, and to
keep our progeny, our children, our spouses, our
parents. Keep us all steadfast on this faith
and to guide our community
to being proud of their Islam, so that
they can spread it to others. We ask
Allah
to guide us with and through Islam. We
ask Allah
to make us proud of our faith. We
ask Allah
to forgive us for our sins. We ask
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala to have mercy upon
us.
Make sure the line lines inside the musalla
are filled up before we line up outside.
There are some spaces in the back, please
make sure you fill them.
Just a couple quick announcements inshallah.
So regarding youth programs for the sisters, tonight
we have
a small dodgeball,
attorney here in the gym,
from 7 o'clock forward.
We also have,
we also have a car meet as well,
after Isha.
I know training, but we're still gonna have
that. And after isha as well, we have
the epic tarbia
showcase.
So we could kinda like show off what
the kids have learned so far inshallah.
I have a surprise for everybody,
for today.
After

So Solomon,
I just want you to repeat after me.
Obviously, I'm sure Jed gave you the the
the breakdown.
Right? So, I'm gonna say in Arabic and
then I'm gonna translate it into English. Yeah?
With you and you could hold the mic
little close so everybody can can hear.
Not that, like, they won't believe you if
the mic was low but, you know, they're
still Yeah. Yeah. Be nice for everybody to
hear it. So, ashhadu.
Ashhadu.
Anla.
Anla.
I bear witness I bear witness that there
is no god but Allah. There is no
god but Allah. And I bear witness I
witness. That Muhammad That Muhammad is his servant
is his servant and final messenger and final
messenger. Takbir.
Takbir.
Their brother who just joined a faith with
more than 1 and a half 1000000000,
Muslims around the world that you right now
have rights over. Right? So
what brought you to Islam? Because everyone here
I'm sure has somebody like a colleague, a
neighbor, someone that they're talking to Islam about.
What is it that touched you and Islam
brought you to
inshallah? Well, I always had like Muslim family
and,
certain Muslim friends as well. But definitely coming
to college, I I felt lost. You know?
I I didn't have a way. I
I I was looking for something to give
me a purpose And,
through my friend, Yusuf
and,
as well as Tamar, you know, definitely, they
gave me information and they sort of set
this up for me, and I appreciate, you
know, them.
Where's Yusuf and Tabaa? Yusuf and Tabaa. Well,
they are. Gotta call them out.
Right
there. May Allah
bless you guys. Barak Allah, fiqh suleiman.
Do you mind your name is Solomon. Right?
Soleiman. When you say Soleiman, you know. It's
the same. Right? It's like Abraham Ibrahim.
Right? So, may Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala bless
you with this faith inshallah
and continue to guide you InshaAllah. To that
which is correct. InshaAllah. I'm led to a
right path. I'm I'm led to paradise inshallah.
Congratulations, brother.
