We praise Allah
And we send our peace and blessings to
our noble and beloved prophet Muhammad Alaihi Salaam.
And I remind myself and yourselves on this
blessed day of Yamal Jumu'ah
to fear Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
As Allah reminds us to do so in
the holy Quran when he said,
after
All you who believe,
fear Allah the way he should be feared
and do not die except in the state
of complete submission to him. We ask Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala to die in the state.
We ask Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
to make our last and final words in
this dunya.
Brothers and sisters,
just as
the weather and the climate has seasons,
and the temperature goes up and down,
and the trees change throughout the year.
Likewise,
there are seasons
of
seasons
where Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala offers
multiplicity
in
the amount
of reward he gives for particular actions.
From all of the seasons
in the year,
like the seasons of Ramadan
or the months of Muharram.
This
is a season
that is also from the
months
that are haram, the sacred months of Islam.
But brothers and sisters, this season,
these 10 days
the first 10 days of the Hijjah coming
up these next this next week
are the best,
the noblest,
the
most magnified,
the most important
10 days of the year. Hands down.
Allah
mention these 10 days
in a surah perhaps that we recite
a lot or we hear a lot in
Surat Al Fajr.
When Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
swears by Al Fajr dawn.
And
these 10 nights.
And they said
that
are the day of Arafah and the day
of Eid.
And the ulema
explained
that all of these
aqsaam that Allah
swore by.
All of these great things that Allah swore
by
are all by this these 10 days that
we're about to come to in the next
week, insha Allah ta'ala.
Brothers and sisters,
these are not just times
that we allow
to pass by.
Today, the speech
is to the person who is drowning
in sin and in negligence.
Today, the speech is for the one who
claims they want to change but never do.
Today,
the speech
is for the one
who keeps pacifying themselves by saying, I hope
so.
Someday,
one day, I'm eventually
going to change. It's for that person.
Brothers and sisters, until when will we continue
to delay things?
When these times that Allah
offers us
a makeup,
offers us
offers us a way and a means to
compensate for what has passed.
Everything
that we felt short of in the past,
these 10 days, the 10 days that the
sahaba
were asking about. When the prophet was
speaking about them, the sahabah said,
You Rasulullah
described us these 10 days and he said,
there's nothing
better and more beloved to Allah in any
days.
There's no
there's no action that's more beloved to Allah
than these than doing good in these 10
days, general good. They said, You Rasulullah,
you're talking about good in general, good deeds.
Like what? Fasting, salah,
and so on so forth.
He said, there's nothing more beloved to Allah
than good deeds on these 10 days.
They said, but wait a minute
Not even
fighting for the sake of Allah,
because they heard
everything he said
about the reward of the one who fights
for the sake of Allah and defends for
the sake of Allah.
What did he say? He said,
He said not even that.
Good deeds on these days is even better
than
Allahu Akbar. So what is what is it
about these 10 days
that magnifies it so much, that makes it
so important?
Brothers
brothers and sisters,
we only live 3 days in this world.
We only live 3 days in this world.
The day that we're in.
So we should we should strive
to do the best that we can in
the day that we're in.
So let us prepare.
And a day that passed,
so let us seek forgiveness
and seek repentance from what had passed
that will be haunting us later on, that
we will see before us on our scriptures
on the day of judgment,
where everything will be presented in front of
us.
Every look,
every comment, every thought,
every gesture,
every act of oppression and transgression, everything's gonna
be there.
So the day that passed, let us seek
forgiveness from what had passed.
And the day that is to come,
and for that,
we prepare insha'Allah
ta'ala.
We look forward to it. We have a
game plan for it because that's the last
day that we have.
It's only one day before, the day that
we're in, and one day after.
So what have we prepared brothers and sisters
for what is to come?
We don't want to be
from the people
who continue
to pacify themselves with hopes falsely
even until the day of judgment.
Brothers and sisters,
this is a mindset.
People that
keep
that keep telling themselves it's going to be
okay,
that keep
telling themselves that, no. Have some hope and
you'll be okay.
On the day of judgment,
Allah
narrates
what
their state is going to be.
They call to the believers who are being
taken into Jannah.
These people
who fooled themselves in this dunya,
will be calling the people
who they used to see,
striving for good, doing
They call them.
Weren't we with you? Wait a minute. Where
are you going to Jannah without us?
Says
that this
this the beginning of this is a proof
that the people
who lived
by deceiving themselves with false hope
will continue to do so
even after their resurrection,
even after they're lifted from their graves, even
after the day of judgment and everything that
they see in it, they still have
this false hope.
Until the believers go are going into Jannah,
and they will call them, weren't we with
you?
Didn't we chill together?
Didn't we see each other? Didn't we pray
next to each other? I used to see
you on Eid. I used to see you
on Jumaa. Hey, Hey, remember that one time
we went and we did some khair?
Said,
this is a proof that they will continue
to deceive themselves.
Then the believers respond now. The ones
who are being taken to Jannah are responding
to the ones who are left behind.
Yes.
Yes.
You were with us.
But
you put you wronged yourself and you put
your you made yourself in trouble.
Ibn Abbas
says about this ayah.
He said that, you
knew us but you continue to sin.
You continue to
in your heedless ways. You continue to neglect
the commands of Allah and the prohibitions of
Allah. You continue to know what is right
and do what's completely
opposite knowingly.
Knowingly.
And this is why
he said,
You're the ones that did this to yourselves.
You caused the fitna to yourself.
Then he said in the tafsir, in the
meaning of
is like waiting,
staying behind.
Means
you delayed
your tawbah.
The person
the person who is doing sin, who could
have made tawbah, who could
have repented to Allah
If he only
had that trust in Allah, if he only
knew how much Allah
is waiting for their tawbah,
If they only knew how easy it was
for Allah to forgive all of the past
sins
with a simple word, an utterance of astaghfirullahahuatubu
ilay. A little
eye,
a
teardrop
that comes down with sincerity
and mixes with this earth, and the the
soil, and the dirt that we were created
from.
That teardrop
that we perhaps
can falsely
let it shed when we watch a movie,
or a sad documentary, or hear a sad
story,
many drops come down. But sincerely for Allah,
all it takes is one teardrop.
That
one is enough to have all of the
sins wiped away completely.
But not even that drop came down.
And you waited. Just kept delaying. It's okay.
It's going to be okay.
Kept deceiving,
Seiving no one else
but themselves.
And doubted that Allah is going
to hold you accountable for your actions and
your deeds.
These people
will
be in a state of doubt constantly.
And it's as
if doubt was left as the last thing
because
it's as if all of it came from
doubt. Because if we truly
believed in Allah whenever we slip
up, who would we go back to?
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
But because we doubted
that He is going to hold us accountable
for our actions, we doubted
that we are going to be resurrected and
judged, we doubted.
We kept delaying.
So delaying the
has to do with doubting
the judgment itself.
And the last thing
was
SubhanAllah.
And on top of all that,
The people that are going to Jannah will
tell these people that are left behind.
You were just
deceived with your own false hopes.
It was just you.
You had these false hopes and
it never translated to anything.
Brothers and sisters, this
is
this is a sad reality.
But Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala knows
that we
fall short.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala knows that we are
humans and we forget. And Allah
knows that we were created weak,
and He put these desires in us so
that we can counter them with azimah,
with certainty,
with motivation,
with steadfastness,
with perseverance.
Allah knows He put it in us. He
said,
And mankind were created weak.
Allah knows this.
But he wants
us
to know
the address
of tawba
and repentance
and forgiveness.
And that's only Him
Brothers and sisters,
let's not forget the examples of the
the best generation
after prophets and messengers.
The sahabah.
One of them by the name of
Mu'ad ibn Jamuh
radiAllahu ta'ala Anhu.
Mu'ad,
who knew
how weak Allah subhanahu ta'ala created. He knew
his place and he was he was
in a situation
that made him very sad
when
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala tested him with a
limp that he lived with.
And this limp would prevent him from walking
upright or straight.
And in the battle of Badr,
his sons told him,
Dad, you know you're old. I know this
is voluntary. The Rasul
said, you know, it's voluntary so just stay
home.
Stay with the family, and we'll go and
defend the Madina from the mushrikeen.
And they went. And when they came back,
was
so so disappointed.
He heard about what happened in Badr. He
heard about the forgiveness that Allah bestowed on
the people of Badr, on the sahaba who
fought in Badr.
And he heard about the forgiveness
unique and specific to the people of Badr.
And he kept
blaming himself. He's like, I can't believe that
I missed this opportunity
to be from amongst them.
When the next when Uhud came, he said,
You Rasulullah,
now is my opportunity.
You Rasulullah, my sons are not letting me
And he had 4 sons.
They're not letting him go.
And he said, Wallahi, I'm gonna tell Rasulullah
about you. He went to Rasulullah
He said,
They're denying me. They're telling me I limp.
Rasul sallallahu alaihi wasallam told me, you don't
have to. He said, You Rasulullah, I know
I have a limp, but let me go
with you so I could limp to jannah.
Let me go with you so I can
limp to jannah. You Rasulullah,
this limp is gonna take me to jannah
today.
This limp is what's gonna make me succeed.
Insha'allah, the
Rasulullah told him, Then you can.
And he went to Uhud, and he fought,
and he was martyred
And Rasul
saw him and he told him,
while he was dead, he's like, wallahi, it's
as if I see him with a straight
leg in jannah.
It's as if I see him
complete,
walking upright in jannah.
Where are we from the examples of this
sahaba
who strive for jannah?
Or the other
who is carrying dates.
And the Rasul
told him, he pointed to that field and
he said, That's where jannah is. He said,
Wallahi waiting to eat these dates is too
long. He dropped the dates and he said,
I'll go hungry now. And he went and
he attained Jannah.
Where are we from Abu Duhdah?
Who heard
that Rasul
tell one of the companions of Madinah,
there was a dispute between 2 companions
over 1 palm tree
that grew and was leaning into the land
of another
companion.
And the Rasul salallahu alaihi wasallam told him,
why don't you just sell this
palm tree to this
Sahabi,
this other person?
He told one to sell it to the
other just so the
dispute can go away. And you could build
the fence around it, and that's it. It's
over. Said, No. I don't want to sell
it.
Said, Man, it's gonna make things easier. Rasul
is advising him. He's like, just trust me.
Do it. He said, no. I want this
tree.
The Rasul
told him
that give him this tree
and with that you'll get a tree in
Jannah.
Give him this one tree and you'll get
a tree in Jannah for this gesture of
yours.
He said, I don't want the tree in
Jannah. He's a hard headed farmer.
He said, I don't want the tree in
Jannah. I want this tree.
Who overheard the?
He heard it,
and he went back to his wife
and his
kids.
And he said,
We're leaving.
She said, What? What do you mean? He
had the biggest
date farm in Madinah,
600
trees.
He took his trees,
he took his family out of this land
which he lived on. He went to Rasulullah
and he said, You Rasulullah,
can I if I offer this man
my whole date farm
for that one tree in Jannah,
would I get the tree in Jannah as
well? Or is that offer just for this
one man?
He said, no. You will get the tree
in Jannah, of course.
And he went to the man and he
told him, I'll give you this whole date
farm for the one tree.
And he did.
And he came back, and the Rasulullah
alaihi wa sallam told him,
How many
beautiful day trees are in Jannah for Abu
What a gesture.
Where are we from this striving to Jannah,
brothers and sisters? And there's no better time
to strive for jannah
like these 10 days that are coming up.
So we should prepare, we should plan, we
should yearn, we should strive
to the best of our abilities because Allah
open these doors of mercy, open these doors
of reward. So let us not
let these things pass.
Let us not allow this time to pass
without attaining immense rewards. We ask Allah
to make us from those who take advantage
of these days. We ask Allah
to bless us with and through Islam.
To allow us to live through the Quran,
and with the Quran, and to show us
and to guide us to what is halal
and to what is haram. We ask Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala to forgive us.
Respected brothers and sisters,
I remind myself and yourselves to fear Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala.
To fear Him
more so in these sacred months.
As in general,
in the sacred months,
we
the the sin is multiplied.
Not only is reward multiplied in the 10
days of
and they're the most beloved to Allah, but
sin is also multiplied.
So we need to be cautious, and we
need to be careful, and we need to
know
what it is
that we're
we're facing.
We're in sacred times
because we don't use the Islamic calendar. Perhaps,
these times are played down
or may pass without us knowing
what they are, what they mean, or what
they signify.
But it does not mean that the angels
to the right and to the left stopped
recording when we forgot about them.
They didn't stop recording when we forgot about
these months. They didn't stop recording when we
forgot about Allah. They didn't stop recording
when we started
watching the movie. They didn't stop recording when
we didn't lower our gaze. They didn't stop
recording when we engaged in haram speech, when
we lied, when we slandered, when we backbited,
when we cut off our kinship, our mothers,
our fathers, our cousins,
our uncles, our aunts, our grandparents.
They didn't stop writing when we forgot. They
never forget and they don't stop because they
have one command from Allah.
And that is
to write down everything we utter
and everything we do, whether it's good or
bad.
So brothers and sisters, let us fear Allah
Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
and take advantage of these next 10 days.
Brothers and sisters,
the best of these 10 days
as they are all great
is
the day of Arafah.
The day of Arafah, 9th of
which will be announced inshallah as soon as
it begins.
We'll know when the 9th,
when is and when the 9th of
is. Fasting
this day of equates
the or forgives the previous year sins
and the sins of the coming year.
So who knows
what
we need to get to Jannah? Who knows
how much we're underground with our thoughts?
Small things
small things can destroy
huge deeds that we did. Great
deeds.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala said,
Do not
allow
your
to disappear with men and
Imagine a person giving sadaqa,
putting up
100 of 1,000 of dollars,
and then
with a eye gesture
or with a shrug of a shoulder
looks at a poor person who Allah
Perhaps they'll work their whole life,
and they won't get as much as this
person gave in one single donation.
But that shrug to that poor person,
that look
to that poor person
is enough to make all of this disappear.
This
is We don't know what actions we're doing
that are making our deeds disappear. We don't
know how big they are.
One of the wives of the Prophet
was slightly shorter than the rest of the
wives as she entered upon the Prophet
sitting with another
wife.
All she did was wink
like, you know, and and gave a gesture
like,
there's the short one.
And the Rasool Salam Alaia Wa Salam looked
at her, and he said to her, that
little eye gesture of yours, if it were
to be put in an ocean,
it would make it dark from how evil
it was.
Just one little eye gesture.
So we don't know
what we have and what we don't. We
don't know what these angels are recording brothers
and sisters. But what we do know
is that we can sincerely
plan
for these 10 days.
Have a sadaqa
everyday. Try to fast
all these days. Try to pray
Whenever epic or any other masjid sends an
announcement that there's a pray
a as well.
Give
as well. Pray extra qiyam, pray
the 2 rak'ahs
of Ishraq. It's as if a person gives
for every one of his body parts and
every one of his limbs.
Every bone, every joint in the body
to give sadaqa for it, it's only 2
rakas.
2 rakas.
The 2 sunnahs before fajr, if we don't
pray our sunnahs before and after our then
let us pray in these 10 days the
sunnus salas. If we don't pray our qiyam,
if we don't pray
then we pray them during these 10 days.
If we don't usually make
let us set a reminder in our phones,
or on our laptops, or on our devices,
a reminder that tells us what
to do. The prophet
said, In these days, the best
is
And then another narration,
So let us put one zikr every single
day. Say a 100, 200, 500, 1,000 times.
Every single one of the days, there's nothing
better than of Allah.
There's nothing better than zikr of Allah.
If you're feeling depressed,
sad, in grief, say
1,000 times while thinking of its meaning, and
see what's gonna happen to that sadness. It's
gone.
If you're afraid of
a tyrant, you're afraid of an oppressor,
then all you have to do say, Allahu
Akbar 1,000 times and see what it's gonna
do to your life.
If you need to renew your iman, you
feel weak, you feel distant, disconnected from Allah,
then say
1,000 times and see how it's going to
change your whole life.
May Allah
allow us to take advantage of these 10
days. May Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
reward us,
in these 10 days. May Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala forgive us for what had passed, and
for the heedlessness and the negligence of what
had passed.
Yeah. If you are in the back outside
of the main please move forward. There are
spaces in the back along the windows in
the back
Make sure the main is full
before filling up the hallways.
Straighten your rose, close the gaps.
Just a couple important announcements,
regarding,
some of the programs that we have in
this upcoming week. On
