Salam Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuhu My dear brothers and sisters, welcome to tonight's program. We are going to be inshallah speaking about preparing for the month of Ramadan.
This is the last night of the month of Rajab. Tomorrow will be the last day of the month of Rajab. And tomorrow evening or tomorrow after sunset, the month of Shabbat will officially begin. And I wanted to hold the session so we can talk about preparing for the month of Ramadan. We're one month away from our beloved month from the month that we have been anticipating and waiting for now we have heard that our great pious predecessors would be praying for six months,
that Allah subhanaw taala would, you know, accepts the previous Ramadan and then six months in advance they start praying that Allah allows them to experience Ramadan again, and that Allah subhanaw taala brings Ramadan upon them while they are in the best of health and spirit. Right. So they will be praying for Ramadan. We're only one month away, we have made it through this very extraordinary year. For those who have passed away of our brothers and sisters, we should remember them in our dry in our prayers. May Allah subhanaw taala have mercy upon them I personally lost some good
personal friends, to the pandemic May Allah subhanaw taala grant them the highest ranks in Jannah
Alhamdulillah we have come to this to this moment we ask Allah to key I ask Allah Subhana Allah to keep me my family members and you and every one out there of your loved ones in the best of health. I ask Allah subhanaw taala to allow you and I to experience the month of Ramadan again, but it's only 30 days away from now. And instead of waiting until last minute and speak about how to welcome Ramadan, I thought it would be appropriate to begin now. Take advantage of this very special month, the month of Shabbat and prepare ourselves for the month of Ramadan. First step in this preparation process is to remember and acknowledge and realize what the month Ramadan is all about. What is the
objective of this month? Allah subhanaw taala in the Quran in the beautiful verse that speaks about fasting being prescribed or
us being obligated to fast Allah subhanaw taala says in that verse, yeah. Are you living at home and or are you who believe quotevalet camassia mokameh katiba Alan Levine I mean publikum fasting was prescribed for you as it was to those before you. La La Quinta tacos and Allah subhanaw taala reveals the objective the main objective of fasting, as it is the main objective of every act of worship is to attain Taqwa Taqwa is a state of mind, a state of spirit, where a person is aware of Allah subhanaw taala, his presence and the fact that Allah is watching all of our actions and choices, right? So you become mindful of Allah. And that mindfulness right
leads you to make the choices that you know please our Lord. And you avoid any choice that could offend Allah subhanaw taala. So that is a state of Taqwa. You know, very often I say taqwa, you know, think of yourself or someone that you really care about. If they were allergic to something, if they were allergic to an ingredient, right? Nuts or anything, and then they see something. Whenever they go to a grocery store, anytime their eyeballs on an item, especially if it's edible, you know, you would before they touch it, you say, or before you touch it, if you are the person, you will say, wait a minute, let me check the ingredients. Let me see if that ingredient that is
that you're allergic to is present in this product. If it is, you stay away from it. You don't want to take a chance, right? So Taqwa is like that, is to be to develop this sense, or this level of awareness that makes you examine everything, every option, every choice that is presented to you. And before you consider that choice, and before you act or react to anything, you ask yourself, Is this going to please my lord? Is this going to bring me closer to Allah? Or is this going to actually do the opposite? And if it's something that will cause the opposite, right, you don't take a chance and you stay away from it, you know, you're better off. So this is taqwa, Ramadan, and
every act of worship, such as hedge or the five daily prayers, they're meant to, you know, help us increase that sense.
They're they're meant to help us elevate that awareness of ours. Right? So. So now knowing that that is objective of fasting, we don't need to wait until we're told tomorrow is Ramadan. We should actually begin now. Right? We should begin exercising Taqwa now. We should start thinking about our relationship with Allah and examine our relationship with Allah now, right? So prepare yourself for the month of Ramadan by engaging in this process or in the exercise of becoming more aware of the presence of Allah subhanho wa taala. Right, because our Lord, the Lord of Ramadan, is the Lord of Shaban and the Lord of every month, this is something that we were supposed to do on a regular
basis, actually on a daily basis. On a weekly basis, we're supposed to hold ourselves accountable, nonetheless, right. For those of us who are so excited about the month of Ramadan, let's prepare ourselves by one remembering, right the objective of the month of Ramadan, which is to attain Taqwa. Let's begin our journey towards Taqwa. Now, number two,
no matter how good I may think of myself to be we're all sinners were deficient. We all have, you know, shortcomings and we make mistakes on a daily basis and Allah subhanaw taala invites us to repent to Allah subhanaw taala. So the second step or the second practical tip, in preparation for the month of Ramadan is to begin this Tober process Toba means repentance to turn back to Allah subhanho wa Taala in repentance and ask Allah to forgive us our sins, and purify our souls and cleanse our hearts right? The month of Ramadan is a month of cleansing. But you know, if you have a guest, they said, if you have a guest, and you're trying to invite that guest to your house, you're
not going to start decorating the house before you clean it, you're going to do deep cleaning, and clean the house. Real good. Right? And then you go to decorate the house to welcome your guests right the month of Ramadan is a guest that we welcome into our homes. But we most importantly, welcome into our spirits into our souls into our hearts. Right. And we are not we may not be the same state we were when the previous one ended, right. So, in order for us to prepare ourselves, we need to do some deep cleansing. And this process of cleansing or purification that the believer engages in, we know as Toba repentance to Allah subhana wa taala. So we need to turn to Allah
subhanaw taala and repentance. Ask Allah with humility to forgive us, our sins make Toba if we have developed any bad habit, or if we are still struggling with the old habits of ours, maybe now is the time to ask Allah subhanaw taala to help us overcome these, you know, addictions or these challenges that we have with some of these sinful habits that we have, and repent to Allah subhanho wa taala. That brings me to the third tip that is very important, which is let's deal with these bad habits and cut down on these bad habits or maybe get rid of them. Let's not wait until Ramadan again begins, right? Sometimes people say okay, when Ramadan begins, I'm going to start improving, I'm
going to start the transformation, I'm going to start to reform. Right. But it doesn't just happen like that, you know, they say it takes, you know, 21 day is for someone to get rid of a bad habit, right? And what happens if the month of Ramadan begins and you fail, now you have a month of preparation, maybe we can now start exercising, and try to cut down on these bad habits or try to quit, right? For, you know, one of the examples that I that I give, and that I personally am very passionate about advising people against it is the habit of smoking, whatever people smoke or ingest, right? If you can start now, that would be great. First of all, your health would would
improve, right? And I'm going to talk about that in a minute in sha Allah Allah. But, but more importantly, your soul will be cleansed, you will be a better person, you will get this sense of empowerment that you are able to overcome this bad addiction of yours, or this habit of yours. Right. And imagine welcoming the month of Ramadan while you're in that state of of excitement and inspiration. So cut down on bad habits and you know, turn to Allah subhanaw taala for help. Number four, right? We have some unhealthy practices, maybe some of us, maybe due to the pandemic. You know, we have not been keeping up with our health or our fitness and the more
Have Ramadan is a month that requires some strength. Some people out there may not even know whether they're, you know fully fit. So one advice that I have for you is get your annual checkup. If you haven't done annual checkups throughout this year, speak to your primary care physician. See if your body is ready to fast
and you know make sure that if you have any underlying health challenge or problem that you get that under control so that you're physically ready to welcome the month of Ramadan month of Shabbat is a great time to do that. Number five, if you have any days that you have not that you missed from the previous Ramadan, for our sisters out there or for our brothers out there who had a legitimate reason to break their fast and you have some what we call what I call makeup days from the previous Ramadan, make sure that you take care of making up these days and fast these days in the month of Shabbat.
Make sure that Ramadan when this Ramadan arrives in sha Allah that you have paid off your debt, and that you have made up all the missed days that you did not pass from the previous Ramadan. This actual of the Allahu anha used to do that she would make up some of her missed days from the previous Ramadan in the month of Shabbat so make sure that you take care of that now in the month of Shabbat speaking of fasting, another great tip with which we can prepare ourselves for the arrival of the month of Ramadan is doing with the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam used to do in the month of Shaban the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, we are told by Isha and
some of his aides and others the companions of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. So for example of suburban Zaid in the Hadith that was collected by imam in necessity, in his collection of some of his aides said that he said to the Messenger of Allah,
lamb Africa, yeah put we are rasool Allah, He said, O Messenger of Allah. Arakata sumo Shahara Mila Shu Hari Mata sumo me Chabad. He said, O Messenger of God or messenger of Allah. I do not see you fast in any month as much as the month of Chabad. Right, Sam, I noticed a pattern in the month of Shaban the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam pass.
And we know that from the hadith of Ashura de la Miranda who narrated, she said the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, she said, I have never seen the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa salam, fast in any month more than he did in the month of Shabbat. So the Prophet said I'm used to fast in the month of Shabbat. Many scholars said that perhaps in preparation for the month of Ramadan. In one narration, I Isha was reported to have said the process of almost facet the whole month of Shabbat, he never fasted a full month except Ramadan. But she said the month of Shabbat, was the most he almost completed the first of the month of Shabbat, but he didn't sal Allahu alayhi wa
sallam.
So when Salman going back to the narration of Osama Bin Salman as a messenger of Allah as to why the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam
pointed out to some of the following, he said Delica Sharon, the other fellow Nasser, and he said, that is a month, to which most people don't pay attention. Right, between being Rajab
what Amala. Between it falls between the month of Rajab which is a sacred month respected and highly regarded, even in the days before Islam in the days of ignorance known as Jaya Helia. He said that this month falls between the Rajab the sacred month, and Ramadan, which is highly anticipated and respected, you know, a month and a lot of people don't pay attention to the importance and the significance of the month of Shabbat and the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam revealed something very interesting regarding regarding the month of Shabbat. He said, Well, who was Sharon total for Alfie Hill? You know, Bill Alamy. Right. It is a month in which the deeds are taking up. Our deeds
are reported and they ascend to the Lord of the Worlds Robben Island, ALLAH SubhanA wa Tada or these are presented, and we know from the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam that he sallallahu alayhi wa sallam
said he will and your family will NSR him.
And I love I like my deeds to be taken up or to be to be presented to be reported while I'm in a state of fasting. Speaking of these being reported,
And we know that there is a daily report angels, you know, take turns, and they go to Allah subhanaw taala twice a day, and they report they say, you know, we love to your servants doing this, we love to your server servants doing that. So we have angels that actually take shifts, right? And this happens, you know, twice, you know, every 24 hours. So, so the angels report to Allah subhanaw taala what we and Allah knows what state we're in, but the angels do their their job fulfill their mission by you know,
raising our DS to Allah subhanho wa Taala but also, there is a weekly report that takes place the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said that is the day of Thursday the day of
an HMIs right and that is also a day the prompts are seldom used to fast.
Likewise, there is a an annual
you know report that takes place reporting that takes place and that takes place in the month of Shaban. Some scholars said, you know that that happens in the in the middle day of the month, or the middle night of the month of Shaban Allahu Allah Adam. But it seems from the Hadith, that the entire month of Shabbat would be the month when our deeds are lifted or they are they ascend to Allah subhanho wa Taala to the Lord of the worlds and the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam used to fast as much as he can, or most of the days of the month of Shabbat. And it's a great way so it's a great exercise to prepare ourselves in our bodies and our souls for the month of Shabbat. I know that many
people are they shocked themselves, they don't do any fasting throughout the whole year. And then when the month of Ramadan begins, the first two, three days they are miserable because the body is in shock, right? And you don't want to do that you don't want to just you know, so it would be a great idea even if you don't have days to make up from the previous Ramadan that you missed. To begin now and do voluntary fast cast as many days as you can in the month of Shaban pass maybe every Friday, every Monday and Thursday, fast the three middle days of the month of Chabad have passed every other day fast most of the days of Shabbat whatever number of days you can, your body will be
so used to try it and you will not regret it. You know, by the time the month of Ramadan begins you will be fully ready and you can hit the ground running as they say.
Another tip that is key in our preparation for the month of Ramadan.
Scholars in the past they used to say the month of Shaban Jehol Pura, it is the month of the reciters of the Quran, many people, many of us again, you know love to and we actually are so inspired to connect with the book of Allah during the month of Ramadan. Because the month of Ramadan, as we know is the month of the Quran, we listen to it being recited in Salah, we love to read it many people finish the entire Quran during the month of Ramadan, whatever, you know, your level is, you know, obviously you do want to, you know, engage the Quran at your pace at your level. But how about beginning now? How about preparing ourselves now, I know it's very hard for those who
have not finished the whole Quran to do it in the month of Ramadan. Right? But Subhanallah by the time you're in the middle of the month, your your energy level increases for some people actually it's increases for some other people. They experienced a dip we can address this in sha Allah Allah when we get closer to the month of Ramadan or during the month of Ramadan. But for those who have experienced finishing the recitation of the whole Quran, there is this sense of accomplishment and excitement that you feel when you finish when you complete reading the entire most half the entire Quran all 604 pages, right? If we begin now, and we do one or two or whatever amount of what is
known as HUD finishing the entire Quran, between now in the month of Ramadan, perhaps by the time the month of Ramadan begins, we're ready. And for those of us who are having difficulty reading Quran, it is a great idea to begin now get used to reading the Quran. Get a tutor get someone to teach you how to read the Quran. Right improve your you know your connection with the book of Allah, study it so by the time the month of Ramadan begins, you're used to it and again, you can hopefully start from day one, your journey in reconnecting with the book of Allah and finishing the whole Quran in the month of Ramadan. They said that scholars when the month of Ramadan approaches, they
will abandon everything and pay attention
to reading nothing but the book of Allah subhanho wa taala.
Last but not least, the month of Ramadan is the month of good deeds the month, the month of
getting closer to Allah subhanho wa taala. And there are three things, three types of voluntary good deeds that we engage in, that we can prepare ourselves for in the month of Ramadan, number one,
prayers, long prayers taraweeh, right, we pray Taraweeh and the month of Ramadan, again, many of us may not be used to doing that on a regular basis. And it becomes very difficult, even physically, it becomes challenging for us. So perhaps if we begin now, getting up in the middle of the night, and praying and family, or, you know, maybe we can begin with a couple of records if you haven't, if you haven't been doing that, or for and read to yourself.
And make sure that you experienced family and by the time Ramadan begins, you will be used to it and you will be able to stand in prayers for long hours or, you know, whether it's behind someone or if you are reading to yourself in sha Allah to Allah. So pm late, you know, is a great
a great act of worship, that is highly recommended. So getting up in the middle of the night, if you can't get up in the middle of the night, perhaps maybe you can do that before you go to sleep, or you can get up at the end of the night and before Fajr and pray whatever amount of units Allah subhanaw taala would allow you or would inspire you to pray. Speaking of physical fitness, by the way.
Subhanallah you know, I know people who would before going to Hajj for instance, where they do because they know they have to walk long distances, whether it's the to the Masjid Al haram or, or in tawaf, or say, what they do is they start exercising two or three or four weeks before they begin their hedge journey, they actually start walking long distances, or jogging, and they improve their fitness, right, their physical fitness. And I have seen this many times I've seen those who have prepare themselves mentally, emotionally and physically do much better, right, than those who actually have not done any prep work. Right. So so, you know, when when we talk about preparing
ourselves physically, or standing up in the middle of the night and praying before the beginning of the month of Ramadan, one of the goals is to make sure that we enjoy the whole month and to make sure that we have we have energy from the beginning of the month and until the end throughout the whole month. Insha Allah to Allah. So that's the first act of worship, that is highly recommended piano lead praying and long, you know, prayers, you know, such as taraweeh number two,
right supplications asking Allah subhanaw taala for for guidance, asking Allah subhanaw taala for mercy, right. And many people have, you know, a huge challenge when it comes to supplication your art because they're not used to it. Unless they have a specific need. Usually they don't know what to say. So it would be a great idea now to come up to compile to come up with a list of prayers and supplications. And the best of which are those that are mentioned in the Quran, are taught to us by the Prophet salAllahu alayhi wasallam nothing, you know, is better than that. So make sure that you come up with a collection of authentic prayers and supplications taught to us by the Prophet
sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, review them,
study them, ponder upon them, make sure that you connect with them, because one of the most important aspects of dua is that it has to be heartfelt. Right? You have to say it like you mean it, you have to say it, you know, and you have to be desperate, right? And it can't be something that you just read. It shouldn't be something that you say while you're actually feeling. So I highly recommend that you study these supplications or prayers, and that you understand that you understand the meaning of these prayers, and that you memorize as many prayers as you can from those taught to us by the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam and inshallah to Allah we have a duat series that is
going to be starting this coming week. Join us for that inshallah. And throughout the whole month of Ramadan. We're going to be also introducing or talking and reflecting upon prayers and supplications taught to us by the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, we also have about oh,
Almost 29 or 30, prayers and supplications that we talked about last Ramadan, check these videos as well and show love to Allah and see if you can Inshallah, review these prayers understand what they mean memorize them and then use them, prepare yourself the month of dua is about to arrive. The Prophet SAW Selim, you know told us that Allah azza wa jal,
the Almighty, right.
You know, when whenever his servant especially someone of an old age raises their head, Allah subhanaw taala is too shy to to let them down without granting them what they asked for he also told us all Allah Allah you know Salam, whenever a believer Praise to Allah subhanaw taala Allah azza wa jal hears, and Allah subhanaw taala will grant that believer, that person who's asking Allah azza wa jal, sincerely, one of three things, either whatever they're asking for will be granted, or Allah will give them something better or Allah azza wa jal will prevent something evil from happening to them by the virtue of that dua that prayer that they make, or Allah azza wa jal will save it for
them until the Day of Judgment, right when they, knowing that they would desperately need the reward and the blessing of that prayer, Allah will save it for them. And Allah Subhana Allah knows best what what we really need. So when we make your art we have to have full conviction and certainty in the Promise of Allah subhanaw taala and the generosity of Allah subhanho wa taala. In the in the in the fact that Allah azza wa jal is so gracious Subhana wa Tala and we have to when we pray, really leave it up to Allah subhanho wa taala, to give us, whatever, whatever is best for us. But nonetheless, we still have to pray and ask Allah azza wa jal for the best in this life and and in
the Hereafter. And the last act that is highly recommended in the month of Ramadan, that most people just wait until the month of Ramadan begins actually to engage in is sadaqa charity giving, right and just like any other act of worship, charity is something that you need to get used to. And we don't have to wait until the beginning of the month of Ramadan. what guarantee do we have that we're going to live until that so start exercising, start giving, start getting used to sharing, start getting used to donating, you know, give to good causes, even if it's a small amount, right? Take advantage of the month of Shaban prepare yourself, start giving a start identifying come up maybe
with a list of good causes that you would want to give to, right maybe if you're someone that likes to send your check or your donation to different, you know, destinations, or different organizations come up with a list, maybe you can start sending these these checks. You know, some some organizations, they take donations ahead of time. And they they actually they can you can post dated or they would actually cache it or use it in the month of Ramadan. Perhaps you want your sadaqa especially if you're going to designate some of these charity or relief organizations to give charity on your behalf or if you're sending something to someone to a loved one or something someone
that you trust or it's overseas that it requires some time for the funds to arrive and for the people there to be able to deliver the aid or whatever supplies you're trying to provide for the needy or for the poor, it will take some time for that. And if you want that to take place during the month of Ramadan, you should begin now planning and making appropriate arrangements so that that will take place in the month of Ramadan. So don't wait until last minute began preparing to get began getting used to and start getting used to giving sadaqa and giving charity. Now before the beginning of the month of Ramadan, since also giving charity is part of the process of cleansing
ourselves and purifying ourselves and redeeming ourselves. It's an atonement process. So when we give sadaqa we we purify our souls right and we need to welcome the month of Ramadan with pure hearts right and with with clean minds and souls in sha Allah Allahu Taala I asked him Allah subhanaw taala to give you an eye the strength that we need and to give us the focus and the inspiration that we need and show along to Allah to begin this journey of preparing ourselves for the month of Ramadan. Do not forget insha Allah azza wa jal join us for our Ramadan workshop. We'll have more information for you coming, coming soon inshallah for the as to when and what time that
will take place in sha Allah azza wa jal, but right before the weekend before the month of Ramadan, we're going
Want to have a Ramadan workshop to talk about the technical aspects of fasting and prepare ourselves but until then you should start reading and you should just start educating yourself if you have any questions inshallah to Allah will be able to answer these questions live in sha Allah when we hold that session, my dear brothers and sisters May Allah subhanaw taala bless you, I would look to see if there are any questions here in the comment section that I can answer otherwise insha Allah azza wa jal will end the program soon then Allah so
okay in response to those who are asking for the link, Inshallah, we will post the link for the prayers and supplications videos and whatever else you you have asked for. Thank you for commenting May Allah subhanaw taala bless you
okay,
what what about if you have many needy relatives? Can you just give them your sadakazu? Yes, indeed, not only that, you actually reminded me of a very important point I was going to be discussing, you know, next week, in the middle of the month of Shabbat.
You know, when our deeds are a cent, and Allah subhanho wa Taala looks at our deeds what we have done throughout the year.
The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said that Allah azza wa jal free gives grants forgiveness month to everyone who do not associate partners with Allah, anyone who is not engaged in shake, associating partners who Allah subhanaw taala will be forgiven.
Right? accept
any two individuals, any two parties that have a dispute, that are not on good terms, and that they are disputing with one one another, be its relatives and most of the time people actually just, you know, have serious disputes with their siblings or relatives or people that they know are friends. The prophesized settlement said Allah azza wa jal says to the angel and little Hidemi salejaw Leave these two aside until they make up until they reconcile. So one of the most important aspects that we need to do now should not even wait until Ramadan, we should not wait until the middle of the month of Shabbat and we should begin now is reach out to our relatives and our friends or people
that we may have had any misunderstanding or any tension with and reconcile, right and make peace and mend these broken ties with them. And one of the ways that one can do that is if someone is needy, you reach out to them. Definitely, when you give sadaqa when you give charity to your to your relatives, not only are you doing, you know giving sadaqa and you're getting very ward off, you know sadaqa, right. You're actually also getting another reward for keeping ties with and strengthening the bond with your kinship with your relatives. So it is sadaqa and Silla cetera. So you get double reward for that. So take advantage of that if you have any.
Allah Subhana Allah Quran says our Miskin right there
yet
for lokta Hamel acaba de la come and Acaba Karaca. I will be Yeoman de missa team and then a crab, right. So Allah we have talks about an orphan that is related to you that you're supposed to look after, right? And mentions and Allah azza wa jal in the Quran says we're at the port of the hubco. Right, give your relatives, their their due rights, and their share. And our relatives depending on who they are, they actually have helped. If Allah Subhana Allah has blessed us with wealth, and we have extra were supposed to reach out to those who have less, and our relatives are most worthy of our help. So yes, indeed, in sha Allah, Allah, that would be an excellent idea to reach out to your
relatives and give them sadaqa just bear in mind
that when it comes to your parents, or your children, they do not qualify for sadaqa. Right? Because they have a right. So whatever gifts you give to your parents or your children, that is not sadaqa you still get rewarded for it. But you can't give out of your as a cat or out of your sadaqa to your parents or grandparents or great grandparents. Nor can you do that with your children.
America love you and
Michelle Medina
Does anyone else have any question?
Very interesting question Will the massage be opened for tarawih during the month of Ramadan, we're praying that insha Allah to Allah that at least here in the city of Memphis that most massages in our message in particular will be open in sha Allah Tala, we're planning for that. We're hoping for it, we're praying for it.
So let's all pray that Allah subhanaw taala help us,
you know, get through this month, and help improve the conditions around us so that we can go back to our beloved masajid mosques, the houses of Allah subhanho wa taala. I know that a lot of people had a great experience last year, praying at home, it was a very unique experience. But nonetheless, you know, there is something that that cannot be denied there is this
you know, praying in your mouth, especially how are we praying that in congregation or daily prayers is more rewarding. And it is a very powerful experience that we all miss. And we want to go back to that. So we ask Allah subhanaw taala to help us get through this. And hopefully you shall allow data, the situation will be even better than it is right now. And that we will be able to congregate obviously, we have to still be very cautious and maintain social distance and, you know, keep our masks on, but even if it's short taraweeh Inshallah, tada. The plan is to hold
you know, congregational prayers in the month of Ramadan. So we're we're praying for for that inshallah God. So that's the plan in sha Allah.
May Allah bless you.
Okay.
When does when does the month of Shaban begin? That's a great question. Actually.
It seems that officially, Monday will be the first day of Shabbat. Tomorrow will be the last day of Raja and Monday will be the first day of Shabbat, Monday. Also the day the process that I'm used to fast maybe perhaps we can all make it a point or prepare ourselves too fast on Monday, this coming Monday, day after tomorrow
as it is the first day of Chabad as well.
We have a question here. Can you read Quran on behalf of someone, someone who is dear to you. Obviously, when you read the Quran, you get the reward because when you read the Quran, for every letter, you get 10 Good deeds. But can you at the end of reading the Quran when you finish? You know, and it's a mnemonic and many of our great scholars of the past. And you know our contemporary scholars, whenever they finished the whole Quran, they would make their hearts they gather their family members, right and ask Allah Subhana Allah to bless them is a virtuous deed to finish the recitation of the Quran and at the end of any virtuous deeds, you know, you're in a position to
you're closer to Allah subhanaw taala you are in a position to ask Allah subhanho wa Taala for what you need to ask Allah to accept your deeds and to forgive your sins, and to accept this particular deed and pray for your loved ones, especially those who have passed away. So, so at that moment, and at that point, you can include them in your DUA and dedicate the you know, some of the blessings of that deed of yours or or ask Allah by the virtue of that deed and by the virtue of your DUA to bless them and to forgive their sins. So you can make dua for your loved ones especially your parents inshallah.
