the Name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.
Alhamdulillah, Bela mean,
well, so that was set up a Shafi lambda, almost serene,
say, you know, and Abu, you know Wahabi. We know Shafi Aina wa
Mulana, Muhammad Sallallahu, alayhi wa sallam wala Ali. He was
habihi AJ Mahi,
all praise, thanks and gratitude is due to Allah,
Lord of the universe, all mercy, blessings, salutations, love and
compassion on our beloved prophet, Muhammad, sallAllahu, alayhi wa
alahi wa sallam, his family and friends and those who follow in
their guidance until the Day of Judgment,
respected brothers and sisters, I
greet you with a Wonderful greeting of Islam. Assalamu,
Alaikum. Warahmatullahi, taala, wabarakatuh, but allow me to say
that the last time I spoke here,
the voice was not right.
It is the second time I've been requested to come here, and I
don't know something went wrong with the voice. Again.
But as you have seen, the topic today, we're going to talk about
human rights the West and Islam.
I hope, for once a time will allow me to say what I would love to
say,
but because of time constraints and people have to get back to the
employment,
I would like to keep it as short as possible, but hopefully from
myself, we will all be able to learn from the few words that I
have to say
when we look at human rights, and it is very important
when We speak to one another is that we must try and be on the
same page. When I say be on the same page, meaning that we must
understand the definition of terms.
I might talk about human rights, and you understand something and I
understand something different, subject to interpretation.
So we'd like to approach this matter from two perspectives, and
that is, first of all, we look at the Western approach.
I say unfortunately,
unfortunately the West have this habit
of attributing everything that they think is good to themselves,
and they try to prove it to the world,
even if the world at that particular time, and they think
the world is in steep ignorance,
and they are completely, completely unaware
of The benefits that they are trying to put over to people
the question of human rights.
They think, and when I say they, I'm talking about the Western
world,
they think that human rights came along from the Magna Carta.
Magna Carta, I'm not going to go into detail about explaining what
it is all about, but in short,
it was designed so that authorities or kings and those
rulers of the time, they must not understand that they are above the
law.
That is why it was designed.
But lo and behold, as much as they claim that human rights belongs to
them. It came 600 years after Islam, 600 years
and the Magna Carta. And the principle of that would be
that there must be a trial and there must be jury.
If the people who designed the Magna Carta, if they should be
alive today. They will be surprised. What else has been
added to what they thought was principles of the world.
Because first of all, the Westerners, and let me allow allow
me to say this, they had no concept whatsoever what civil
rights or human rights really meant,
even we go back as far as the 17th century, the philosophers and the
thinkers, the people who designed their jurisprudence, they thought
that this was their ideas
and.
And at the end of it, of the 18th century, the only people that
really accepted it was the two shaytans, America and France.
And afterwards, when these appeared in their constitutions,
different countries. But often these things were on paper as it
is still today, without giving people actually in real life,
go to the 20th century, my dear brothers and sisters, you will
find, and I'm ashamed to say this, the United Nations, more commonly
known today as the divided nations,
they passed a resolution against what is known genocide, a word
that we hear though every single day of our lives for the past two
months.
And what is in there. They framed it, they regulated it, they
checked it. But every single resolution of the divided nations,
not United Nations,
cannot be enforced because it is just hope that they put they in
front of people they became helpless and hopeless spectators
of the world instead of implementing human rights that
goes against what they call genocide,
divided nations. I call them. They're not even in a position
today, as it stands, to exercise any effective violation of human
rights go as far as India. 60 years go as far as Palestine,
almost 80 years, genocide, murder, displacement, everything has been
happening, and they are a hopeless spectator sitting there and
watching how things are unfolding.
We have the Islamic approach,
and this is what I would like to focus on. I just wanted to give us
an idea as what they think as Westerners, and how they implement
what they call human rights.
Let's look at Islam.
When we speak about Islam and human rights, what do we really
mean by that?
It is very simple to understand. For a Muslim and a believer,
it is rights that has been granted by Allahu, subhana wa taala, no
one else,
they have not been granted by a king,
by legislative assemblies,
because the right that Allah subhanahu wa has given to us,
it is permanent, it is eternal, And it cannot be changed, and it
cannot be withdrawn. If a king or any ruler of the world today, or
any legislative assembly, if they come along with a set of human
rights, what can they do? They can withdraw them as they wish. They
can openly violate them as they wish, and they can do what they
want to when they desire to do so,
but since Islam,
since Islam have been and Allah subhanahu wa has granted us the
rights and The authority to execute the rights of Allah
subhanahu
wa nobody, nobody, even if you are in authority, whatever position
you carry in this world, you have the right to change, the right to
deny or to abrogate The laws of Allah subhanahu
wa Today
we find that the charter and the proclamations and the resolutions
of the divided nations, you must not and cannot and you will not
ever compare that to Allah subhanahu wa because it is very
simple to understand
their human rights, as they put it, it is for certain people only,
whereby what Allah subhanahu wa brings us human rights is for
every single human being,
administrators, no matter What faith you belong to. It is from
Allah subhanho wa Taala to the human being.
And we must recognize it, accept it as such, and implement it.
Today, we find
how many Muslim, so called Muslim and Arab nations.
Are right around Israel.
And I'm asking,
are they implementing the laws of Allah, subhanho wa taala, when you
have 60 countries sitting around the table and making decisions for
the rest of the Muslim world, and especially for Raza in Palestine
and mashallah aksan Mubarak
and I can almost guarantee not one of the decisions that is made or
resolutions that's being passed, there is 100% in conformity what
Allah subhanahu wa has brought as human rights to the human beings.
And that is a shame. It's an indictment on the entire Muslim
community and Arab community to be able to sit around that table and
not raise a finger to assist our brothers and sisters in Palestine
and in Raza. That, to me, is an indictment and a shame
Listen to these verses of the Holy Quran, because Islam did not come
for lip service.
Islam came as
an active religion, proactive not just to follow when something
happens. No,
we can't wait for something to happen and react. We need to be
proactive all the time, but listen to these three verses that follow
each other. Bismillah, rahman, rahim, wamala meykum bima, Anza
Allahu FAU.
Second one, wamala meykum bima, anzala Allahu faumon. Third one,
wamala, meykum, Bima and Zara, laho, Fauci Kum, we have three
verses, all of them in chapter five, verse, 44 verse, 45 verse,
47
what does it mean those who do not judge by what Allah has revealed
to them, you fall in the category of disbelief.
Those who do not judge,
those who do not judge by what Allah has revealed, they fall in
the category of the alimeen
those who do not judge by what Allah has revealed to them, they
fall in the category of the first.
This means
three verses in a row. This means that if
the temple authority, and I call them temple authorities, if they
regard their own words and listen carefully. This is not just for
presidents and for kings and rulers of the world. It goes for
us right here, where we are people in authority who have titles if
you do not judge by the book of Allah, Allah is going to hold you
accountable for not judging by the book of Allah, Subhanahu wa
temple, authority and everything on this dunya is temporary. Regard
your own words and your decisions to be right
and those given to you by Allah
wrong. You become a disbeliever. That's number one, if, on the
other hand, the second one, if you regard Allah's commands,
it is right, but wittingly and consciously you reject them.
That brings you in the category of the Dali moon.
And the third one,
if you do not judge by the law of Allah,
and you take your word and you judge by your own word, you become
of the first
so you are either one of the three,
and I am not here to judge. I am here to give you the facts of the
Quran regarding what Allah says about human rights in the Quran,
wamala, meyanza, Allahu Fauci and
you cannot, for one moment, no matter what authority you have,
you cannot, for One moment change Allah, Subhanahu wa simply because
it is perpetual and it is eternal, and there is no space, no space
for alteration, for modification or changing or even abrogation.
And the first basic right that we want to talk about number one,
and obviously we can all think, I don't have to spell it out, and
that is in connection with the right of life,
the right of life that has been taken for granted,
the right.
Of life that has been said, We can kill, we can murder, we can do
whatever we want to, because they are not human.
And we often hear this verse being quoted right now throughout the
world
and Nahum and Qatar Enough sambira Enough seen oversiding
NASA Jamia.
This verse is quoted.
If you take one soul, it is like you have killed the entire human,
human race.
But I want you to go to that verse,
that verse,
chapter five, verse 32
see what is written before that verse. Take the five verses before
that
and you see Allah, subhanho wa Taala speaks about what Lu
alayhim, Naba abana.
Allah speaks to you about Habib and Kabir,
when you find Kabir, khat, ALA, habili, Cain and Abel
and the one murdered the other. And
at the end of that five verses, you will find the beginning of the
verse is not Anna Homan Qatar, enough, sambira enough. The
beginning of that verse is Wakata Alaba, Israel and Nahum Qatar,
enough sambira, enough. Sin Oh fasadin, Phil, Audi Faka and nama
Patel and NASA Jamia, I have written it upon Bani, Israel, that
if you kill one person, it is like you have killed the entire human
race. That is the verse. I have written it wakatabna,
it is I have written it upon them that if that, if you do that, you
take one life. And the word that Allah used a Nahum, qatala,
nafsan, Allah does not say annahuman. Qatala in Sadan, Allah
says, if you take a soul. So when Allah subhanahu wa speaks about a
soul that you are killing, Allah subhanahu wa is not making
distinction between whether your South African soul or whether you
are an Arab soul, or in your Muslim soul or your unbelieving
soul, but you're a soul that Allah has created from Nabi Adam, Allah,
His salah, to Asmaa
and Allah. Subhan wa Taala says, wala Taku, NAF selati, haram,
Allah illha, that soul that Allah, subhanho wa Taala says you are not
allowed to take that soul because I made it sacred. Sacred.
16,000 souls has been taken that sacred by Allah. They look at it
differently from what we look at them. They are in a different
sphere. They are in a different area right now.
We look at it and we cry.
What we see, they are happy. They are rejoicing. 16 year old girl
lying on her deathbed, and she says, Ya Rabbi Alameen, before I
go, I'm asking you that mash be liberated,
16 year old girl, before she dies, she says, Ya Allah, look upon the
nations that they come together and liberate mash UX, 16 years
old, and she's lying there dying on the Arab news, it was like live
yesterday,
one girl that is one soul taken.
This is no more genocide. This is beyond genocide. And if we thought
for one moment that after the ceasefire is going to stop, it has
escalated after the ceasefire, four days of ceasefire, and we
went down and we stopped, and immediately this escalated. Let's
kill more. Let's murder more. Let's take away from them. Let's
annihilate them completely. Wala Ana, salati, haram, Allahu, Allah,
my dear brothers and sisters, when Rasulullah sallallahu was asked,
What is the greatest sin on earth that the human being can commit?
Prophet sallallahu, alayhi wa sallam says, qubila, the greatest
sin is to associate partners with Allah. And then they said to ma a
Rasulullah, what after that, and then the Prophet sallallahu Sallam
used the same words, wakat nafs, not wakatul, insan, wakatl nafs,
when Allah uses and Rasulullah ala Salam uses the same terminology,
wakatl nafs, it means it doesn't particularize any human being, No
matter where you are, whether you live in a bush, whether you live
in the desert, whether you live in the city, whether you live in the
most riches of areas, whether you live in the poorest of area,
you're a soul. You're not just a human being. And that is utter
Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said,
Show me.
The constitutions of the world today, when they make reference to
human rights, they make reference to human rights of the people who
live in their country. But Islam does not recognize geographical
boundaries. When it comes to enough's whether you believe a non
believer, whether whether you live in Australia, whether you live in
America, doesn't really matter. What have they done to the people
in Australia? What have they done to the Aborigines? They treated
them like animals. We can go into the indigenous areas of America.
What have they done to the Red Indians? What have they done to
the people in New Zealand? What have they done to the people in
Africa, they treated them like animals. They are not our equal.
They are animals, and for that reason, they can be hunted down
and they can be killed.
Let me surprise you.
Let me surprise you.
As I said, we have time constraints
in the Talmud. Do
you know what is the Talmud
that is a reference book of the Jews?
Do you know what it says in the Talmud?
Very similar verses to the Quran, but see how it changes.
And Nahum and Patala, nafsay, Dil AUD, Fati a NASA Jamia. You know
what he says in the Talmud. The Talmud said, Whosoever destroys a
life of the Israelite in the eyes of their Scripture, the life of
the Israelite, you will become a sinner, a if you see, as part of
the human rights, if we as human beings, see somebody is busy
drowning, it is your duty, no matter who that person is, to save
his life.
If you see a person is wounded and you can save his life, it's your
duty to save his life. If there is this person that's dying of
starvation, it's your duty to save that life.
But if a Israelite, if an Israelite save a non Israelite, is
a sinner,
this is how it is scripted for them, and this is how they rear
their children,
that you cannot save a life because that life is not equal to
your life that is an animal that you are saving. And look at the
Quran. What does the Quran says? Chapter three, verse 75 laysa,
Alaina, Sabil. What do they regard us? They regard another human
being, not their equal.
The English word is Gentile,
Euro Gentile. The Arabic word is on me. And what does Allah say in
the Quran? This is what they say, lay Sahara, um, begin as Sabil.
There is no blame on us with regards to the unlettered folk. So
if we kill them, there is nothing wrong, my dear brothers and
sisters, let us take note of this. Let us take note as to what they
regard us. They regard us as animals that can be hunted down.
And for that reason, it is no surprise that when you stand in
front of one of them, they can take a gun and they can shoot you
down, and they will be rewarded for that, because if they don't,
then they will be regarded as sinners, and they will use any
excuse to say, this is the reason why I killed. They don't need a
reason. The only reason that they have at their disposal is we are
not the equals. We are animals, and therefore we can be hunted
down. But we're not going to go into their intentions. We're not
going to go into the agenda of the rest of the Muslim world. Why they
are so passive about this? Why are they not raising a finger to
assist our brothers and sisters and today, Alhamdulillah, today,
we find that not even the the Red Crescent, or as they are called,
they cannot even do their work when people are now surrounding
the schools. If they tell you to flee from your houses and go and
go and into a school, and then they bomb the school, go into a
hospital, then they bomb the hospital. What happened to their
homes is not important when you find the father walking with a
white flag in front of his entire family behind him, children
carrying a little bag with them. That's all they have. We sitting
in our cocoons. We sitting with our flashy cars. We sitting with
our flashy meals, and we still complaining. We still complaining.
These people are running for their lives, my dear brothers and
sisters, think when you look at this, let you absorb it. When you
look at something, it is like you consuming it, consume what you see
in front of you, and make dry for these people.
That is the strongest weapon we have today, is to make dua for
them. Show them our solidarity. Show them that we support them.
Make dua. But remember, even if you support if you support the
oppressor as much as making a garment for him, then you are
supporting the killing of our children. Then you are supporting
the killing of our brothers and sisters, my dear brothers and
sisters, we need, we need to come to a point where we say enough is
enough, and the Muslim world must wake up. And I know, and I'm not
going to spread it out. There is other agendas, political agendas,
financial agendas, it is all there on the table. If you have people
with the mightiest of might of armies that is sitting around and
not raising a finger, may Allah subhanahu wa give them hidaya
inshallah to come to the liberation of mashul Aqsa, number
one, to come to the liberation of of Palestine, the people of Gaza,
to come to the aid. And I say aid in every single meaning of the
word, to come and help them, assist them, support them. And
Inshallah, these people are not running. They says,
either Shaheed or we have victory, one of the two, and both is
victory, Shahid ought to be victorious, but they're not going
to run. They have shown us what resilience means. They have shown
us what SABR means. They have shown us what courage means.
They've shown out what Ihsan means. They have shown us every
single attribute, and Allah subhanho wa Taala had made it
easy. Allah subhanho wa Taala has given us platforms to press a
button and to see what's going on. Learn. Learn. Don't criticize,
don't fight amongst one another. See what the differences can make
amongst the ummah. The wind is gone. The wind is out of them.
There is no strength. Come back to Allah in tan sur Allah, hayan
surqum, or you submit a QAM akum, Ya Allah, we say to you, and we
say to our people of the world, Narelle, Wafa from kharib wa
bashirin, remember always, everything comes with Bishara.
Everything comes with glad tidings. The glad tidings is that
Allah's victory is close. We don't know how close May Allah, subhanho
wa taala, protect us all, guide us all in sha Allah. I want to give
you one example, just one example, the area that I live in, in
retrovaq, there's one child missing, and everybody in retrova
is looking for one child, one child.
1000s are still lying under the rubble, 1000s, 1000s. They don't
even know. They have to write their names on their on their
limbs, so people know that they have died or they are still alive,
our brothers, our sisters, our children. I don't even want to go
into the rights of of women, the rights of children. We're going to
be standing here the entire afternoon. May Allah subhanho wa
Taala grant everybody hidaya inshaAllah and protection, and
always keep them in mind, no matter what they call ceasefire,
because Allah subhanho wa Taala says, What is a Nami saka Come let
us speak on a Dima akum. What are to rejuna? Ampus akum India,
arikum, summa, aqah, TUMO and tumta shadun. Look it up in
Suratul Baqarah, and you will see what Allah is speaking about. Let
us speak on it. Don't even shed your own blood. Don't, don't exile
people from their homes. And they are doing everything contrary to
what they have taken a mishap. They have taken a covenant with
Allah, and they have broken that particular covenant, Joseph
Allahu, to the Board of Trustees, to the Imam, to everybody that
invited me here today, I hope Inshallah, with these few words
that myself, first of all, and everybody else would have learned,
may Allah subhanho wa Taala bless everyone and protect us. And my
heartiest congratulations go out to all those matriculants who have
passed exams. If you pass, continue on that beautiful path.
And if you if you did not make it, may Allah subhanho wa Taala guide
you and open your chest. Inshallah, continue. Don't ever
give up your education. Look at what is happening in the world and
study and study harder and work hard. But congratulations to
everyone who has passed the exams. Wa dawallahi, Rabbi Alameen.
Ha,
and they say, Yeah, both Rafiki smile and ismail Muhammad, they
are not in the best of health, and currently both in hospital. Since
he requests a dua from all the musalias, we make dua for the
shifa Shiva and Kami, then inshallah and all those that are
sick Inshallah,
because I'm Allah.
Okay,
salaam.
First of
all, we say jazakumah to Sheik Mohammed Murad for once again,
giving us another thought provoking talk, building on his
his back
by popular demand, and building on his talk of October, Palestine,
the hidden gem, and today, again highlighting the plight of the
Palestinian people, in particular those in Gaza. This is a this is
something that's foremost in our minds,
and we must do whatever we can in any way possible, whether it is
materially or even just without time and without duas, in order to
support the people in Palestine, one of the ways that you can do so
is by joining us for our public demonstration on the corner of a
and Plata clud Road, even if you spend five minutes. This is this
is two effects. One is to highlight the plight of the
Palestinians and to raise awareness, and the other is to
voice your disapproval of what's been happening. The indiscriminate
bombing is going on unabated. So please, if you can just spend some
time instead of sitting in traffic, just spend 510, minutes
on the corner of a and support us with in the demonstration and
Inshallah, you'll arrive at your destination in the same time
inshallah. Then another way to show your support is to obviously
assist and to give you donations to all the various organizations
who are doing some amazing work in the field. In Raza,
we have brothers from our area, who are supporting and
highlighting 75 years of oppression in Palestine. And they
will, they are the brothers from wheel to heel. So they have
previously raised about 1.5 million, I believe, for cancer
research, along with African Muslims agency. And similarly,
they've again partnered with African Muslims agency in order to
raise 750,000
Rand. They'll be cycling 75 kilometers on Sunday. Usually we
have a bag for Palestine at the door. Today's bag is also for
Palestine, but it will be for wheel to heal. So all the funds,
100% of your proceedings will go to Palestine. So please kindly
support the brothers. They are from our area. And if you do an
EFT, just please reference plot the clue of
sorry, Panorama underscore in your name, and that will be the wheel
to heal bank details. So that's to highlight 75 years of oppression.
And although they aim to collect 750,000
Rand.
I've been told that it takes, it costs approximately 825,000
Rand to load one truck with food and medical supplies. So the aim
is 750 and that's to highlight the 75 but the I know that the real
aim is 825 so please dig deep and support this particular endeavor.
And then also, there's been a request
for duas for brother Sadiq Ahmed for his 100 days, may Allah grant
almarham mafera and noskava inshallah. And then one more item
is the Cape Town Halal Festival, which takes place to have two more
items, the captain Halal Festival, which takes place on the Ninth and
10th of December, which is this coming Saturday and Sunday at
youngsfield military base. If you can, please try and support them.
And Inshallah, we'll be able to also ensure the continued
the continued support of the various small businesses that are
based at the festival. And then last but not least is the Cape
ijtima, which is the 2023 ijtima, which is the 15th of December,
next week, Friday, and that will be at the Nurul Huda marcas in
Springfield street,
or the old or just of covid Street in Philippi. So that's the ijtima
15 December, at the Nurul Huda marcas salaam, walekumartulla,
