Mohamed Magid – The Inner Dimensions of Prayer Beyond the Basics #04
AI: Summary ©
The importance of Islam is emphasized, including praying five times a day and becoming blessed through"hamlo Spanish" (the inner reality of prayer). It is important to set a clear mind and not bowing to anyone except for Allah. It is emphasized that maximizing pleasure in the Sujood is emphasized, and shukr is emphasized. It is important to not pray when sleepiness is too important and not to pray when sleepy. It is also important to not pray when you are too sleepy and not to pray when sleepy.
AI: Summary ©
Continuation of the
of the previous class,
where we talked about the
purification of the heart and purification of the
body.
Today we're gonna speak about the most important
elements in our religion of Islam.
And the one of the most essential
pillar of Islam,
This is the,
pillar
of Salah.
According to some statistics,
that maybe
15%, they say,
although I see this very low,
of Muslims
around the world play 5 times a day.
I will say it's more than that.
They
increase
the number of people who pray 5 times
a day,
and the number of people attending masajid
all over the place, all over the world,
have increased tremendously.
If you go today in Malaysia or to
go to Indonesia or go to Sudan or
Saudi Arabia, you find more people hamda are
paying
than ever before.
I mean, in recent years, maybe the number
have increased.
Salah, it is what differentiate a Muslim from
a non Muslim. A Muslim practice a Muslim
from not practice a Muslim.
Musa as salam said
that
He said what
make a Muslim a Muslim is praying 5
times a day.
Therefore,
the the
salah,
it used to be the criteria
by which the companions of used to know
the munafiq, the hypocrite.
If he doesn't pray
or neglect this prayer,
then become monarchic hypocrite. It used to be
a major, how to measure, you know, people
of if they are not devoted and praying
5 times a day, they're not practicing Muslim.
Therefore, in all the first to see someone
who's practicing Islam,
at least they have to have 5 daily
prayers
to get them
in, and to sustain them being as practiced
Muslim. Now,
Imam Ghazal al Rahimahullah,
in his book, Heya al Umadeen, he spoke
about the asrar as salah. The inner dimension
of prayer.
All of us we pray, but not all
the times we have complete khushur in our
salah.
And hampleness, and and feeling the presence of
Allah
and feeling that we're standing before Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala. Today
we try inshallah to go over
certain elements
or issues
that help us to do Khushur, concentration in
salah.
First of all, do you know what the
word
means?
Khushur.
The word
okay to fear and what else means?
Humbleness.
Humbleness.
Okay. To be
emotionally
engaged.
Okay?
What else?
Concentration. Concentration.
To concentrate.
Okay?
All of these that are the meaning of
kushur.
Allah
in Quran have praised
those who have in salah.
But Allah says believer have succeeded.
Those who have khushur in their salah.
Therefore,
one of the way that you succeed as
a believer
is to have.
Therefore, the our success
as as Muslims in life to come
is based on our kushur also. Allah
gave them the description of go although he
give other descriptions to those believers but he
started with
Those who
have kashur in their salah.
There's many ayat in Quran that speak about
the word Hasha.
Allah says in Quran,
Lot talks about day of judgement. Said when
people standing before Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala, there's no screaming, there's no a lot
of talk, there's whispering.
Means ample, reduced,
you know, become humble before Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala. Therefore, no one have a dear to
talk
or to speak before Allah accept those Allah
permission. It was a kushur. You know, today
there's a lot of noise people make.
There's no lawyer, there's no understanding. He said,
oh, Allah, I'm representing Muhammad Majid. I'm gonna
I I want to talk before you. There's
no one like that. No one can talk.
That's why Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says in
Quran for those who argue in their behalf
or some people who do wrong in this
life defending them. Allah subhanahu wa'ala said,
You are defending them in this life, who
gonna defend them in their judgment?
No one. Therefore, don't put yourself in that
situation defending falsehood.
Okay?
In the day of judgment, no one talks.
Is
that,
I don't know what I'm talking.
For sure, there's no loud voice.
You hear all the whispering, all the whispering.
Another,
use of the word
in in Quran,
Allah
says,
Last talking about people
talking
about day of judgement. He said that their
heart are tumbling,
like they're they're have full of fear
and their eyes or their sight
is what?
Looking down.
Another use of the word
Have we revealed this Quran to a mountain?
Solid mountain, big rocks.
You know, in America,
everywhere
in the part of the world, people get
fascinated by mountains.
They climb them. They look at them, and
and they use them in their speech. Say,
I'm the top of the mountain,
the top of the hill. All the expressions
of power, of majesty and so forth.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says, have we revealed
this Quran to a
mountain? The mountain itself will humble itself before
Allah. If the Quran would descend or reveal
to a mountain,
the mountain will humble itself.
Will crack
from the fear of Allah.
We'll give this example for human being. So
they may reflect, so it may comprehend
the the importance of this masjid of the
Quran.
The power of this Quran
and the way they should receive this Quran
with sampleness. Therefore, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says,
here using the word
to describe
the state of a mountain. If what if
this Quran was to reveal,
to be revealed to a mountain what the
mountain will have done.
Have that in mind, that's what we like
to bring in salah, have kushur.
Fear,
hope,
raja, meaning asking Allah mercy. This is
for
sure.
Salah.
You know what salah means?
Communication
and connection.
Salah from silah
to connect.
Okay?
That means
is to connect.
What is the purpose of salah? Why we
stand 5 times a day? What is for?
We can get close to Allah. Get closer
to Allah We
can get close to Allah.
Get
closer to Allah. Allah says in Quran, decree.
Allah says, establish prayer for my remembrance.
Not other reason. He said,
decree.
Establish prayer for my remembrance.
If that the objective of the salah, how
much of our salah is really bring us
closer to Allah and bring that remembrance of
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
Then after we leave the salah, do you
feel really we become we were closer
to Allah
than we were before salah?
We we feel that connected,
we feel especially uplifted,
or sometime we pray the salah and the
and the sujood
is so fast
that we don't remember,
you know, what did we do.
And,
sometimes
we go through our checkbox in salah.
We go to our budget.
We talk, have a conversation with our boss.
Insha'Allah,
you know, tomorrow I'm gonna tell him this.
I'm gonna tell her that.
Tomorrow I'm gonna take my car to oil
change, and tomorrow we do all our house
affair inshallah
from
beginning to the end sometimes.
You know? And and we get the worldly
matters.
It occupied our heart and our mind even
as it's time before Allah start thinking about
something else. How we can get that, you
know,
try to help our self in kashur?
I do this as a reminder for myself
before you because all of a sometime window
mind our mind window in salah.
You remember we say that the first step
is the state of wadu itself. When we
do the wadu,
is supposed to prepare us for this really
moment of standing before Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
When we do the wadu, then it's supposed
to prepare us
to stand before Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. As
we as I said before before you go
to interview, you get dressed very well, you
make sure that everything is fine, make sure
that we're gonna say the proper words and
so forth. Before we do the interview we
make wadhu.
Before we stand before Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
We have to make this model. And Imam
Ali,
as he make
his courage
change. Then Imam people you were going to
say used to say to Imam Ali,
I'm standing before I wanna be in a
few minutes standing before Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
Therefore, he take it so serious.
Prepare himself as he make the wudu washing
himself Then as we make
make the wadu
and reflect in for a moment about what
about to do, what is kind of act
about to do,
You see the excitement sometimes you drive your
car, you're gonna meet someone important.
Isn't that true?
My brothers and sister, you would be thinking
about
what you're gonna, you know, what you're gonna
say, what you're gonna, you know, how you're
gonna present yourself. We'll talk about that. Human
being.
Imam Ghazali
said something very interesting and I said it
before I even cut my clients.
He said, if a child told you
that there's a
spider
or a snake
behind you on your clothes, what do you
do usually?
5 years, 7 years old said, snake.
That we jump and try to clean our
he said Allah
or the child.
He said how many time Allah subhanahu wa'ala
tell us something, we don't take it as
true.
If a child can warn us and we
jumped,
how about
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala himself?
K?
Allahu Amotifl, he said.
Therefore, it is important for us before we
enter the salah,
we need to get to the exercise preparing
ourself
and remember before whom we're gonna stand.
And there's something important called nia, intention. What
is nia?
What is nia? The definition of nia. Yeah.
Sheikh.
That is very important word. The Niya is
to
seek something, to seek something, to strive to
get something.
And very difficult to translate Arabic sometimes. Okay?
Therefore, when you do the niya,
the niya is the state of mind.
The state of mind
that help a person to pursue something.
Say,
is something the intention of someone.
When you intend to do something, it's the
state of mind, the emotional, psychological, and mental
state
of someone.
Okay? That's why Rasool Allah said,
all these based on what?
Intention.
Everything we do is based on intention.
Everyone will get what he intended to do.
Whoever I'm great for Allah and his prophet,
will get that reward of it.
Whoever emigrate for the sake of
duniya pleasure, then he will get whatever he
had intended for. And that was,
said the hadith because one of the companions,
male companions
made hijrah,
because one of the female companions said to
him, I will not marry you unless you
make hijrah to Madinah.
Then I will marry you. Then he met
his intention to do hijrah not for the
sake of Allah. For it to get what?
To get married. He follow the sister, which
is not wrong with getting married,
but here, the he doesn't get the reward
of the Hijra.
He get the reward, maybe, of getting married,
but he cannot get the reward of the
hijrah.
He's not going for the Rasool a Salaam,
not for the sake of Allah, for getting
married.
Therefore,
said that hadith.
And this hadith is very important hadith
because introduce
all the basic principles of Islam. Everything based
on intention, daniyah.
Therefore, daniyah,
it is what we should think of before
we pray. Why am I why am I
praying?
For what?
For remembrance of Allah.
How am I praying according to what the
used to pray? That means I'm gonna fulfill
the and the sujood of the salah.
K? And
that we have to remember that this action,
the niya, it is not the statement we
say, because some people will say,
Then in the salah, immediately,
thinking about worldly things. The Niya should follow
us, the state of mind. Allahu Akbar,
the salah is for Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
This Niya following rakur and sujud as I'm
gonna explain it. The state of mind that
we have to know that we have we
we really
standing before Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and our
niyah is that to
achieve humbleness,
kushur
and make our
of 3 components.
1,
the objective while praying.
To whom we're praying
and how we're praying and what benefits we
should get from the salah.
This is state of mind.
Help us to concentrate,
to think about what are we gonna get
out of the salah.
Are we gonna be better Muslims after the
finished prayer? We'll become more humble or or
more arrogant.
There therefore, the salah will be accepted from
a person
A person humble himself before
Allah.
That means a person who engage in the
remembrance of Allah the rest of the day
and does not become arrogant of his own
salah. You know, sometimes you say,
I'm practice, I pray.
What what are you doing? You know, I
know how to pray. In our we may
not say by our word, but our heart
saying that.
That's not the way that we're supposed even
to feel after the salah. We still feel
more humble in our salah.
Therefore, it has to be in that state
of mind mind.
Also, we have to be determined before we
do the salah and the niyyah that we're
gonna
do it in a complete
manner of the have done it, not to
be in haste.
You know, the sujood like.
You know, there's 2 sides that are very
quick
as you tap in the keyboard.
Very quick, and we don't give it enough
time. But brothers and sister, we rent a
movie from Blackbostar
for 3 hours. We don't move.
For 3 hours, we're watching it. But for
the salah, 5 minutes is too long.
You know, let us finish it quick and
get rid of it.
The other thing in in in in salah,
in the niya,
we have to
say I'm gonna pray and I'm planning to
enjoy it.
Underline that.
I'm planning to enjoy my salah.
I would like to feel good.
I would like to feel humble,
you know.
You ask me was today,
have a good day.
People say what?
I will.
So I thought, why? You might not have
a good day.
And they say, I will. Then they tell
me, I will.
You make the and the determination and the
intention to enjoy the salah, to enjoy the
ruku and sujood.
Because salah
is to stand in to receiving the mercy
of Allah. When we don't pray, we deprive
ourselves from being the mercy of Allah.
You know, people say,
oh, brother, it was a very good party,
you missed it.
Don't they say that? I we enjoyed this.
We had a good time.
A person who do not pray missing a
lot of good time.
Being
receiving the mercy of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
They bribe themselves from the mercy of Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala.
They're nothing more than entering the salah than
receiving this
gift from Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
As all of we know that if somebody
yeah. Abdullah invited somebody important,
Very nice card said,
so somebody important, somebody you like
invited you and another card, please come to
the dinner at 7 o'clock. We gonna have
a lot of
fun. Inshallah and in that dinner,
also you might bring any request you like
to have.
Gifts will be given
and accommodation will be paid.
Very exciting.
And it says 7 o'clock.
Don't you we if we have this kind
of invitation with somebody we love,
2 days before it.
What I'm you know what I'm doing day
after tomorrow? I'm visiting so and so. I'm
doing this. We get worked out. Excited about.
Standing before Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala for us
sometimes,
Nothing. You know? We have it as if
I'm eating a sandwich,
I'm doing a routine,
I'm saying hi to somebody, I'm calling
Nothing about remembering before whom we stand.
This Niya should be there, that I'm gonna
enjoy it.
I'm gonna be sincere,
as if my last prayer.
I'm gonna die after this salah.
Therefore, I'm gonna give you the best shot.
The best I can in this salah, in
this Maghrib prayer.
It's coming.
I'm gonna pray as if I'm gonna not
pray anymore. I will not I will not
have a chance to pray.
That's Kornea.
K? Now,
as we have the Niya,
we'll be what? If we are able, we'll
be standing
before Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. And look what
Imam Ghazali said about.
Imam Ghazali had this insight,
Rahimahullah.
He said, when you stand before Allah,
you have to remember
this wukuf
could be standing before him
in where? In
day of judgement.
This is a long
okuf.
So therefore, when you stand toward the qiblah,
you have to remember that you're about to
enter the salah.
You before
is
in few minutes, you're gonna be standing before
the king of the kings.
You prepare yourself. You're standing up, You say
what door you are entering.
You go to someone office, someone important,
a palace, whatever.
You get this feeling. You're entering
a rich,
a home of rich person, important person, maybe
this person, that person. When we enter before
we enter the salah, we should have that
state of mind.
We we in few minutes will be standing
in in this salah,
We supposed to be come having conversation and
talking to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
and
submitting to him
and following his order and following the step
of that
state of mind.
And then as we do,
said,
don't sit by your tongue and make your
high, your heart
not follow your tongue. What that means?
A person say,
Yeah. My bank account. Yeah. Was how much
I have.
I think I didn't pay that bill. I
need to pay it.
Oh, but, you know, the babysitter.
The tires of the car.
Everything we mention,
we said Allahu Akbar, but the tire become
Akbar more than Allah, greater than Allah. The
babysitter become greater than Allah. The bank account
become greater than Allah. What are we saying?
The tongue say it but the heart say
no. It is not true. I don't believe.
You are not believing it but you're saying,
just saying it.
Therefore, this when you say Allahu Akbar,
the whole is
behind
because we are standing before
And this takbir,
it is the most important elements in salah.
That's why you're repeating
it.
And that's why
when we have the niyyah,
the intention, and then we remember the majesty
of
Allah. Before whom I'm standing,
the one is my soul in his hand.
Not that my paychecks that, you know, gonna
sign it, my boss. It's more important than
my boss.
It's more important than my doctor, because my
at one point my doctor cannot do anything
except I
everything by the will of Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala.
More important than my children because because he's
the one who give me my children and
when I die, my children are not gonna
help
me. It's more important than my wife or
my spouse.
Okay? No matter how long I live with
them, death's gonna separate us. You're gonna face
Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. More important, the president
of United States because president of United States
his soul is in the in the hand
of Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. More important than
than anyone you think of than bank account
and when we think about his majesty
and his his lordship,
his power, infinite power, and absolute power,
then when we say Allahu Akbar, we should
mean it.
His greatness
supposed to be overwhelming.
Then we say, Allahu Akbar,
this heart, this body, all of his should
respond to it. Yes. The greatness of Allah.
Can you say to
sometime
we greet someone. Say, oh, the brother is,
said salaam to you. Yeah. You know, he
just saying that because he just saw you.
But this brother, he doesn't like me.
Did you see some people saying that? Oh,
he he doesn't like me. You know, giving
me salam. Just sometimes he doesn't give me
salam. That means we question people
intention.
But ourself
who said before Allah said,
Allah
Allah is the greatest.
The minute we say that,
we don't remember that we're standing before him.
Can we lie to someone to sell him
that you are important but he disobey him
or important to think about somebody else?
No.
Husband and wife,
they're coaching each other sometime loyalty. If a
husband start mentioning someone else, another woman name
all the time.
Said,
you know, you know,
who's this lady?
Why bring her name all the times? And
sometimes it's a husband and wife, my husband,
my mistaken, we like to call his wife
a name and he call another name. She
said, oh, who's that?
Am I correct?
People do that sometimes.
We stand before Allah subhanahu said,
Allah, I'm standing before you. Allah
But, you know, I'm not gonna pay any
attention to you. I'm not gonna pay real
to you. But I'm saying Allah but I'm
gonna go to my checkbox. I'm gonna do
everything else
except
thinking of you. I'm not gonna think about
you.
It's it's troubling.
Today, when I was I was reading it,
I was going to the book, I said,
I might have trouble myself. I need really
to do do more concentration on this.
That sometimes we don't take it serious.
And that's why we don't enjoy it that
much sometimes.
And we want to get get finished. We
want to finish it quick.
Want quick the salah to be over.
You know, I have been in Muslim countries
Why a person next to you, they will
look to their watch.
They'll
fix their shirt and their kufi, whatever it
is. They do everything. They count money.
And you said, why is that?
Everything
in Salah.
The the the glass is off, is on.
Makes a jude,
you take it off. Standing up, on. And
so
And all of it's not necessarily things to
do.
You can hold a child. It's okay in
salah. But
I'm talking about someone doing an act things
that they're not really it doesn't have to
do that.
K?
In Salah, that if we're standing, Imam Ghazali
says that
if you enter
a palace or standing before someone you think
that's great,
you give him more respect than Allah
He said, shame on you, he said.
That would
understand him. He said, shame on all of
us. If we give a human being a
respect
and and attention
with all our heart and mind,
and is a human like us,
eat,
drink, go to bathrooms,
and you stand before Allah, the king of
the kings, the creator of all human, and
the creator of the universe,
and you don't pay attention,
it is it's troubling.
What
time, then, Ma'uri? Now?
Yeah. Again, it's 8:15?
We're gonna stop in in 2 minutes.
Therefore, this this tekbir
is extremely important. And by the way, let
me rewind
the table a little bit here.
Let me talk before that, Imam al Ghazali
said something very important.
He talked about adhan.
He said, when you hear Adan
of salah,
That should be in the itself.
What the adhan says?
Adhan remind us Allah is the greatest.
We repeat it. Declaration.
Didn't say,
x or y is the greatest,
or even the prophet is a no.
To all of us reminder.
Reputation of this
This
there's no one deity worthy of worship except
Allah
That means when we come to this salah,
we don't worship our money in it. We
don't think about it except Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala.
This testimony is what Allah took an oath
from all of us before we come to
life.
Allah says,
This this adhan is the renewal
of this testimony
of this pledge that we made to follow
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. That we worship numbered
him.
And the Azan itself
saying, come to prayer, come to prayer, come
to what?
Therefore, this supposed to be our
success. How comes when you go to a
meeting, a business meeting, we make sure that
we have our
notebook, we make sure that we prepare very
well, we have materials,
and we let you succeed in life.
We go to our job, we learn to
more skills, we do we like to succeed.
Therefore, if salah is the way of the
success,
then we have to know what can we
do to receive that success.
Therefore, adhan itself
is this invitation. That's why in Islam it's
not ringing a bell.
It's it's not somebody shouting, sala sala sala.
It's not like that. It's self is worshiping
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. That's why I'm gonna
remind you brothers and sisters, please I want
to make it a habit.
Do not talk to me, do you know
Nadan. Don't ask me a question.
Okay? I don't want to because many times
I sit and somebody come and talk to
me during Adan.
Let us and and I should have stopped
people for talking during Adan to me. But
I would like to reflect today in Adan
Al Maghrib, and let us start from today.
That said,
as as I'm being called, what you do?
You repeat.
You make an yourself.
You testify.
You do say what?
Do
you know why?
Because
coming to this prayer, come to success,
you cannot do it without the will and
the power of Allah There's
no power in stranger from Allah
Ask Allah to help you to fulfill your
salah.
And then repeat
Let us
do it as a real an exercise
for us. I'm gonna start with Adan, and
then when they say a comma,
this is a confirmation also. As even you
make a comma by yourself.
Home in home. By yourself. You know,
it is an other type of adhan
that you make, and it's a. Prayer established.
And by the way, the word establishment of
prayer.
I'm gonna reflect more on this word
After the
Adhan and after we'll
continue,
the
class.
Allah
says in Quran whenever he mentions salah,
this is here, and those who make salah,
those who saloon,
what he says? Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala in
Quran every time talk about salah.
It says to establish something.
Thing. You know, even this the the the
teach you history,
say
so on. The the state or the civilization
was established this year.
Okay?
Establish a house.
In America,
they call institutions
and things like that. What they call them?
Establishments.
Why they call them establishment?
People well thought about them,
well designed,
they know the benefit from them, and so
forth. The word of Allah telling
us to
establish
salah, Establish salah,
that's what we need. From the niyah, from
the Takbir, from the salam. Everything on it
has to be established.
This one thing. Other establishment of salah to
pray
on time.
We become excited,
we look forward for salah.
Whenever he used to feel stressed,
they'll be looking forward for salah.
When he asked Bilal to make a comma
on his shoes to say to him,
for salah. Let us
feel relieved,
not the stress.
Some people stress about salah and stress in
salah
because it
we have to pray.
Azif Duhur is a bad thing.
You know, we we like to do this
but
you know time. We do programs.
We say, but salah gonna come in the
middle.
Very bad thing.
Yeah. Salah is gonna be in the middle.
You're gonna disturb the program.
Isn't it?
Sometimes even as Muslim or Islamist
or people work in the Islamic work. We
get the Sheikh Mohammed just said the salah
is gonna come in the middle.
You need to do something about that.
Subhan Allah. Why we doing the program? Isn't
for the salah itself?
Why we doing everything in this life to
please Allah? And nothing please Allah more than
the salah. But everything like
salah secondary.
Oh salah.
Why is that?
Establishing, we should be very excited about salah.
We make family picnic,
we take our family out and say, we're
gonna go to DC and do this, but
you know,
salah, you know. We do, you know, inshallah
when we get home. Then we'll pray
and so forth, but we're having fun.
Salah is not fun. It's not something that
we enjoy.
It's a
problem. Then the to
say,
The comfort of my eyes in salah.
You know why Allah use this word Allah
says,
And those who say, oh, our lord,
grant us his spouses and offspring
for be the comfort of our eyes.
For Rasulullah is not the spouse or the
children in the comfort of the eyes.
First is salah, and then Allah gave him
also spouses and children who are comfort of
his eyes.
Why?
It is in the true hadith, authentic hadith.
That they said, Rasool alaihi wa sallam used
to enjoy his family, talk to them, joke
with them, spend time
with them.
When time of salah comes, they said
as if he doesn't know us.
He doesn't know them.
Because
if one standing before Allah is the most
important than anyone else.
Therefore, this,
the kama of salah, we need to think
about establishing in every way.
From even hearing the adhan.
From making the ekama.
From the near, the intention I said, before
whom we're gonna stand?
Make a big difference.
If somebody on the phone talking to their
parents, if they respect their parents, they will
talk differently
when they talk to their child on the
phone. Am I correct?
It depends whom you talking to.
When you stand in salah, we have to
remember before whom we were standing and whom
we're talking to.
And whom we're talking to us. And who
is talking to us.
It is important.
And this
imagine that
you're standing before someone that you respect as
I said before and you'll be careful with
your words, you want to please them, you
want
how about Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala?
Therefore we'd like to start with the nia,
the intention.
And then we want to the takbir.
Remember I said
that when we
make the takbir,
that nothing should be greater in our mind,
our heart, even in our life actually,
more than Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. Nothing greater
than Allah.
Everything is less than Allah subhanahu ta'ala.
Allah subhanahu ta'ala
to make everything that's so little before our
eyes, he said in
they will not be able to create a
fly.
America was always technology,
with all the university
and Europe,
Asia, with all its advanced technology,
bring the best brains,
best brains in the world, have them sit
in a place for 10 years, tell them
it's not nuclear weapons we want you to
create because you're good at that. We would
like you to create a fly.
The
the project is called creation of a fly
from scratch.
A fly, nothing big.
It is not a human being we're asking
you. They're talking about cloning.
Cloning is not creation.
Don't fool yourself at this debate,
you know.
No one gonna compete with Allah subhanahu wa'ala.
Don't worry about that.
No one would be able to create
a challenge.
Create a fly.
Not only that, he said when a fly
takes something from your food, you cannot take
it back as it is.
That of a pilot. You and the fly
are the same,
weak. With all your technology, with all your
weapons, with all your big mouth, with all
your talking, with all your technology, you are
not flying. You're on the fly in term
of power
or equal.
But we honor human being. We give them
a chance to pray. We give them a
chance to receive a revelation, a lot of
words.
We give them that.
Honor them of other creations.
But in term of power,
they're equal.
Do you think Allah
care about someone has
prestige and money?
Do you think Allah's gonna get intimidated by
anyone?
No.
Lies. Allah
No one question Allah
You know, you can question the president of
the United State in congress.
You can question anyone else, you can question.
But Allah's lies.
No one could question what he does.
No one can object.
Everyone be asked.
Therefore, when we have that in mind,
that we're standing before Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
And this majesty of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala,
that we should be greater
than Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
This Takbir,
Allahu Akbar.
Said to us, challenge human beings. Said,
be
metal or iron,
stones,
be mountains, be rocks.
You know, human fascinated by power.
That's why
I said human fascinated by mountains. Why?
Because mountains stand tall as they say.
Big,
established,
powerful,
you know, they they think of this.
You know, now,
one of the thing that,
the culture of this belief sometime create
and Hollywood creates,
it is a fake idea about nothing a
human being can come to point will not
die.
Even you see the cartoon for children. Somebody
dropped from,
you know, 20
floors and then run.
Shot by many times is still alive. No
death. You know?
Affect things.
And will bring a superman
that he come from here and go to
the sun, and
grab this, and does that.
Because this human fascination, they're fascinated
to become powerful like that.
But Allah
says,
stones, mountain.
Or any matos, anything that you think will
not break.
Not only that, talking about Hollywood here.
Anything can imagine, you think that's so great
in your mind or in your heart. Something
that you're very fascinated with.
Allah will bring you.
Allah will control.
Do be whatever you want to be.
Go under my control.
Then when you say Allahu Akbar,
should we think about anyone else?
When When you say Allahu Akbar, should we
think about checking account? Do do we think
about for savings? Should we think about, you
know, money or houses and
No.
Not only that we our self will come
to
not to value
the moment of the salah.
It's standing between the before the
the greatest.
Allahu Akbar.
You know, one of the thing Muhammad Ali,
the boxer, told me personally, I think he
said it publicly.
When I met him in Sudan in 1983,
I he come for Islamic conference.
And he said I said, do you have
any advice to give to the youth, young
people in Sudan? I said, don't become arrogant.
He said, said, I used to say I'm
the greatest,
and Allah showed me who is the greatest.
He said, don't ever say that.
Hamble ourselves.
Then when we say as
Imam Ghazali
our heart should not lie.
The tongue and the heart should both say
it at the same time. Not
but the children are Akbar. Allahu Akbar, my
job is Akbar. Allahu Akbar, my car is
Akbar.
But, no. The greatest in every way.
That's why we don't say Allah Al Kabir.
Allah the the great. We don't say that.
He said the greatest.
Means nothing greater than him.
Then as we do this takbir,
then we should look to our sujood area.
You know, sometimes people say Takbir Allahu Akbar
to the fan.
No. Not not all not even to the
sky.
Wall us from looking to the sky.
Why?
Because when we stand before Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala we will not understand the word.
Hambleness.
You know in some culture
they teach you if you have speaking to
someone elderly, your father, don't look to them
don't look to their eye and talk to
them like that. Consider this aspect.
Okay?
When it's time before Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala,
that we have to have kushur or bustle.
Why Allah mentioned the Khushur or Basar in
Quran?
In the day of judgment
that no one was looking wondering around everyone.
Hamble.
That's why my mother said, do the
before the greatest
that was every there's a voluntary
and there's obligatory
of, you know, being forced for sure.
For sure,
the person who whom you know in this
dunya die was no Muslim or he doesn't
he or she did not pray, there will
be in the day of judgment.
Therefore, the person who does in this dunya,
he would do have what?
Comfort
in
akhirah.
He would be sitting in the light seats
talking to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala while people
in
12,
that there's a long standing.
All people
from Adam alaihis salam to the last person
who'll be living in this face of the
earth will be doing.
Even if a person in this dunya could
not stand
because of,
physical disability, Allah will make them stand.
Because no one will be disabled. Everyone will
be standing.
What that is standing?
In the home, the what what what is
that standing?
It's the standing of kiyama.
And what standing?
It's a long stand.
It is the stand that he will seek
the shafa of Rasoolasahu alaihi wa sallam to
understanding.
And people say, oh,
prophets, they'll go to all the prophets asking
Allah to bring the to begin the judgment.
This is of Hashem of gathering. People will
be gathered and
they'll be wait and be a long standing.
One day,
Allah is 1,000 years. Rasulullah
said, this is a long day.
It'll be a long day.
Especially for those who don't believe in Allah
Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
People will be asking.
Imam Ghazali said,
Imam Ghazali said, when you stand in salah,
remember that you're standing before him in death
judgment.
You're standing before him in this life, seeking
his mercy,
his forgiveness
so that you can have
not feel that long standing
in Ashraf.
And he said, as you stand, stand in
hampling hampleness.
And that's why
you know what the hustle?
Considered as well.
People do like this.
Talking. You have seen that?
That always indication of somebody feeling good about
themselves.
You know, talking to you doing like this.
It is not permissible.
In salah, don't do that.
No. Of course. Complete.
And, of course, Kabut, it is what the
Jafar says. But if you are a Maliki
or, you know, there's a or the if
opinion in Maliki
of sudden.
But whatever you do,
no movement.
You know?
Except the movement that is, you know, they
said it's if something really scratch you, you
can do that. But if you have to
remember, we we have to remember that we're
standing before Allah.
And if we're standing before someone is great,
remember that what they said in the beginning,
we'll not be in doing that.
There's something called protocols.
Am I correct?
They said, if you sit in somebody office,
don't put your feet in their in their
desk.
Don't sit like this. It's considered disrespecting.
In Japan, you do this, you do that.
And people follow that to the letter.
But when it come to Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala now forget about it.
All the disrespect.
Yeah. We have to stand in humility.
And as we in that state of mind
already now, we made the niya, the azan,
the mind of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala,
the the nia, the intention,
state of mind.
We made the, the remember that before whom
we're standing before Allah the the king of
the kings, the creator of the universe.
We made the takbir
as a manifestation of this feeling we have,
he is the greatest
And then we started our salah.
When we started our salah,
you know, many of you,
do do you know the
duaal siftah? You know the duaal siftah?
The opening supplications
in salah.
Salah, rahuas salam used to open his salah
was open supplication
prayer
and there's more than one narration.
I have one of them for you here.
Even I will put it in, in, English
letters but it's Arabic and the translation of
it. One of them, rasulhasallam used to say,
I will use to and see the state
of mind of rasulhasallam when he eat of
salah.
Allahu at bottle
before he recite,
he said what? Remind himself.
I turn my face.
See
this?
This is the Quran, by the way. In
the wajat, which he Ibrahim alayhi salam said
that.
When
he take took his people in a journey
of what?
The moon and the sun and the stars.
Said the you think that your idol is
great?
Look to the moon. Maybe
you can look to the moon.
Is he God? Let us see.
The moon the moon the moon set.
He said what?
Cannot
be. Look to the star.
Look to the sun.
Then what he's in the end he said
what?
I turn my face to the one who
created heaven and earth.
Hanif and Muslim and devoting myself completely submitted
to him.
I don't associate anyone with him. I don't
love anyone equal to Allah. I don't,
have anything that equal to Allah
You know what that means? When you say
I turn my face to the one who
created heaven and earth.
This is supposed to bring a
this overwhelming feeling of the majesty of Allah
Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala. The creator of heaven and
earth.
When remember what I said in the beginning
when we talk about Allah,
When we say the creation of heaven,
what come to mind?
You know, some sometimes simply we think that
heaven is, you know, this blue stuff we
see above us.
Don't we? Because we're simplistic.
Although you may know study school, go to
science, astronomy class, but not every time it
come to our mind.
Created heaven.
This big universe.
And this big universe,
huge universe,
we are small creatures, creation of
it. Then we begin recitation of Fatih.
Why do you know that the Fatiha, it
has to be recited in every salah?
Why is it important?
There's mother of all. The mothers of the
book. Why there's a mother of the book?
Why?
Because Fatihah summarized the whole Quran. The rest
of the Quran is explanation of Fatihah,
giving details.
Giving details.
From the day of judgment, description of Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala, the issue of the issue
of the heat seeking help from Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala, the issue of the categories of
people who go straight those whom Allah angry
with. The rest of the Quran either is
stories
explaining
to
us,
and this
the the examples of that
or telling us the what cow will do
Ibadah, worshiping Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
Supplications, how to seek help and aid of
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, strengthen our belief, or
talking of day of judgment.
That's what what it is.
Fatihah is the summary of the Quran.
The opener.
The citation of Fatihah make us have feel
difference in our salah.
How we recite Fatiha?
Sometimes, when Allah forgive all of us.
Allahu Akbar.
The good fat he had decided is in
one breath.
No break.
That's why especially when you read silent salah.
Silent salah,
Oh, fatiha. Cut to half.
You know? Because you didn't hear it.
1 of the ulama told me
that something very interesting.
Someone introduced someone to read salah.
Okay. Said
salah. And somebody said to him, yeah, this
person doesn't know how to read Quran correctly.
Maybe you should not have
He said no, don't worry about it. It's
silent salah.
Allah doesn't hear silent salah?
Silence salah is not salah?
They call it silent. It's not silent by
the way. You recite Quran in low voice.
That's a silent. Silent means nothing to be
said.
Therefore, it's a long
So Hanallah.
Forget about it. You know, fat has cut
short. You know, the Surah we don't even
concentrate in anything.
But this the word of Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala and the fat is a conversation,
actual conversation
between us and Allah.
Let us imagine this.
Rasulullah
said,
Allah says
The
had
been divided to 2 part.
Part for me and part for him.
You follow any before you say
say, oh, we're gonna engage in the conversation
with Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala.
When a person say
I mean what Allah says. Allah respond to
you.
My servant have praised me.
He telling the malaika.
Hassan at Adam Center, Hassan in the apartment
in the Stirling in Erindon, he praising me.
This moment, this
second.
He
said,
the master of day of judgment. The all
of this plays in Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
And then he said,
Oh, Allah.
We worship.
You we worship
and you we seek help from.
This is a commitment. We're reminding ourselves, oh,
Allah, you alone we worship, not the dollar.
Not the prestige,
not the ego,
not the desires.
You will worship
with you. And in Arabic means exclusively.
You only alone we worship.
Then Allah
says, from the I will give you the
I'll give you the help. Allah
the path of those whom you stood your
blessing upon, not those whom you stood your
anger
or that want to stray.
It is
it is a beautiful
conversation.
Fatihah.
Can we, in Isha prayer today, when we
hear fatiha,
we feel this conversation of Allah. Allah is
talking to us. Who is talking to?
Who am I?
Allah pay attention to me and respond to
my what I say. Who am I?
Nothing.
Brothers and sister, we receive a letter from
White House or from congressman or for somebody.
We say I had a letter from the
president. Don't we?
We say
Michael Jordan have signed the basketball for me,
put his autograph,
And the basketball maybe become so expensive and
important.
Don't we?
We see him wear Nike
and color that that that sneakers,
and where children go crazy want to buy
it. Don't we?
What is this?
For human being that would die and
become dust and ashes,
we give them that much respect and love
and we don't give it to Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala.
No. If Allah said I'm talking to
you, I'm respond who who am I?
Who Allah need does Allah need me?
The congressman need my vote. Does Allah need
my vote?
Is he Allah be with me or without
me?
Is he? If I'm not here, would Allah
be Allah?
If I don't pay to Allah, would he
not become Allah?
Would he
not become the Lord?
You will never be in position to harm
you or to benefit me.
And yet he talking to Mohammed Majic. That's
nothing. You're
talking
to Fatima who's nothing.
You're talking to Fatima, who's nothing.
But
imagine
the king of the kings, the creator of
the universe, who's standing before him, he respond.
You say, Alhamdulillah, he said,
have praised me.
Does he need that praise?
The praise is for us.
When we recognize his majesty
and his lordship,
it's for us.
When we recognize
his infinite mercy, it's for us.
Therefore, this fatiha itself,
when we recite it, we have to
live it.
Brothers and sisters, this surah begin with rahmanirrahim.
And by the way, a basmalah is part
of Fatiha. I'm assisting on that.
Basmalahirrahmanirrahim
is part of Fatiha.
Therefore, when you say
because people who speak in they don't say
even in salah.
He begin with he says what? Does he
say or no? Yes. He said. He said
silently,
you know, low voice.
But people misunderstand
the thing that Fatih had to say alhamdulillah.
No. You begin with the name of Allah,
most gracious, most merciful.
Can you imagine
you're standing before someone?
Very powerful.
I'm gonna I'll give you an example, and
I I hope that they can relate it
very well to you.
A brother
came to a conference
with visiting visa.
They stopped him in immigration in Chicago.
The lady says, oh, you you come in
this conference, what are the paper and this
and that?
He said, I was afraid that you will
not let me in.
She said he said to me, whatever she
told him, he did. She said, go and
sit there. He said, I want to sit
down.
Said,
okay.
Is it your paper? He said, I stood
up to sit sit sit down.
He said, I sat down.
He said so he thought about it. He
said, subhanallah. Why I'm so humble
before this lady?
Because she has a stand to stand my
passport?
Then he said to me, subhanAllah,
how much of us, you know, we don't
think about greater power?
And what make me think now is that
how many of us we don't think about
who has the realest stamp?
Lady.
Lady, you hear what you meet.
If someone tell you your life and your
death is in my hand.
Not only that, your internal life
is in my hand.
Are you gonna be stand before me and
we don't take it serious.
Therefore, when we say, you know, standing in
salah
and we say
with all his majesty and power is what?
The very thing is just feel what? If
we should feel the mercy.
Yeah. We're receiving the mercy of Allah. That's
why salah, if we don't pray, we deprive
ourselves from the mercy of Allah.
My mercy have covered everything.
You'll describe it especially for what? For the
believers.
That when the believers are ready to seek
it and to receive it. When he say
Allahu Akbar in the name of Allah.
The most gracious, most merciful,
I'm standing
before the most powerful
but he's the most one,
Most merciful.
The source of mercy.
And all of us we need of it.
Every day in our life, we need mercy,
Rahmah.
We demand, we ask each other to be
merciful on each other.
When there's no mercy, there's tragedy.
Then we need to seek his mercy.
Imagine
yourself,
you're telling someone,
I know
I remember that one of the presidents of
United States is standing before a lobby group.
He said to them, I know for sure
I'm standing before the most powerful lobby in
America. He said that. I heard the statement.
1990.
When we stand before Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala,
that man said to a human being.
When we stand before Allah
is not a lord of United State
only. And then when you go to Africa,
oh, he's out of jurisdiction.
When you go to Asia, you fly to
Asia or you get out of his kingdom.
1 of the, lama,
somebody come to him and said, you sheikh
advise me.
I want you advise.
He said, you,
Ulam, or young man,
would you be able
to commit a sin
in a place
that does not belong to Allah?
He said, no. I don't think so. Everything
belong to Allah.
He said, would you be able to commit
a sin in a place that he will
not be able to see you?
Said, Nothing that hidden from him. Every he
sees everything.
So would you be able to commit a
sin without using anything that he create?
Don't use anything he made.
You would like to see disobey him, don't
use anything. Don't facilitate your sin or anything
that he made. He said, subhanallah,
my body is made by him.
He said, don't don't commit sin.
That's it.
We cannot.
He said avoid.
Remember Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
Or he said when you repent, when you
commit a sin you should do what? Repent.
Ask for forgiveness.
Because there is no human being who will
be perfect, all of us commit sins.
But we need to seek forgiveness from Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala.
Therefore, when we enter salah and we recite
and we say
and we have to remember this majesty, what
power we're talking about, infinite power.
And subhanallah,
the ultimate power was put between 2 verses
of mercy.
Again.
He's the lord of the universe. He owns
everything on it, but he's the most merciful.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala does not abuse his
power.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
does not commit injustice.
Lie of limb.
Don't commit injustice.
Malik yawmid din, another majestic point.
And that's what Imam Ghazaleh says when you
use salah.
How many time?
I'm not gonna ask you to raise your
hand, but
let be realistic.
How many time we enter salah, we remember
akhir?
When you say Allahu Akbar and you say
what do you mean by that? The master
of death judgment.
Dev judgment to us, sometimes,
it does not click.
It become what? Like any other statement.
It it it does not click. It does
not connect.
You know,
Omar Ibn Khattab, he heard a man reciting
Quran Quran and Surat Atur in a Allahabar
bikalawaka.
Very surely the management of Allah will kill.
Umar alaydullahu anhu was in his horse, he
fell down from his horse.
Remember Akira. Just the ayat,
you know, the information gets
come to Umar head.
The scene of Qiyama, scene of judgment.
There is no day that more important the
day of Qiyama.
And Allah is the king
of the kings, the master of the day
of Jasmine.
Then we have to remember that one, Hossein
and Sala. Imam remember
of
of Aqirah bring Khosur.
Death,
we will die.
Then when we say, we ask in Allah
for to help us in Ibad, Iyaq and
Abut, when we say, we you worship, we
have to mean it.
When we live the salah, we should worship
Allah in all aspect of life. When we
seek help, seek it from Allah Subhanahu Wa
Ta'ala.
Then we ask for the straight path,
We have to remember what the salah al
mustaqim means.
What are we doing in our life that
has take us away from
because we're asking Allah to sustain us from.
Then this surah of Fatihah
supposed to have collect ourself. Imagine that's why
Fatihah has building up. He built up
our very make us intense in salah. This
this hushur, intensity of hushur, of comp completion
of inflection,
of seeking the mercy of Allah Subhanahu Wa
Ta'ala.
And then you recite whatever from Quran. And
whatever we recite, we need to reflect
on. And that's why
if you're doing qiamulay,
turakas by yourself and your native language is
not Arabic,
choose ayaat that you're gonna read it in
English, know the meaning of it before you
recite them. So that when you recite them,
you contemplate on them, reflect on
them.
Then as we do the fatiha and decide
the Quran, we're talking to Allah, Allah is
talking to us,
and we feel
that
yeah. Imagine this the this majesty of Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala is overwhelming.
The Quran is in our head, in our
mind, in our heart.
Who have revealed Quran to a mountain will
do it.
Humble itself
as we the Quran and this citation and
remember so Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala did say
peak,
the body goes where?
Density.
You
go
and. Almighty.
The one, the most, the source of mercy.
Isn't he almighty?
And we said to him, Iyakanaba,
for that reason, because you are the lord
of the universe, you're creator of the universe.
You are the one who did everything in
his hand. You are the master of their
judgment.
Therefore,
to you,
we devote our worshiping. And to you from
you, we seek our help.
Therefore, oh, Allah, please.
The one with all of the discretion of
majesty,
guide us straight path. That's why Ibn Qayyim
said, the fat all fat has introduction to
the dua of Hidina Sata'Mustaqim.
As you make dua, you say, oh, Allah,
you are the lord of the universe. You
are creator of the universe. You
are the attribute of Allah, and then say,
oh, Allah help me in my this and
that. You you glorify Allah. In fact,
Allah tell us how to glorify his name
and then we ask.
Then we make this
ruku
as our heart temple,
our body temple,
then the body goes in record
before Allah bow down.
And that's why it's prohibited to bow to
anyone except to Allah.
Because no matter how that great that person
is, it's not in that description of fatiyah.
It's not even
come near or close,
so distant.
And therefore, this ruku
is a result of this intense recitation of
Quran
and reflections.
Then we say,
All glory be to my lord almighty.
And why rob
why not subhanallah
alaalim?
Why subhanrubi?
Al Fatiha,
we said
or praise to the lord of the universe,
and he's my lord.
This universe,
I'm part of it.
Now you personalize it.
You said,
you're the Lord of the universe,
but you are my Lord.
You know
how good people feel when you say,
by the way, the boss of the the
the head of the company is my father.
I work for the company so and so.
But, you know, the owner of the company,
my boss is my father. Just getting a
favor, isn't it? No. You said the Lord
of the universe,
the creator of the universe is my Lord.
You are my Lord.
Because we are part of this universe, but
it's personalized. Subhan'rabbi'ah
al-'alim
almighty.
And al-'m, by the way, this is a
translation,
literal translation, but it's greater than that. I
would like to
maybe
if,
I try to wrap up this session, but
you see I get excited talking about salah
and have you standing now for hours here.
I will talk about sujood and keep the
rest
lesson to read from there. Okay?
As a person who is the peak of
this
said, when when, you know, when when Allah
said
when the Quran said,
glorify the name of your lord
Do it in your
Ruku.
As we do this,
now you charged.
Fadiha charge you, Quran charge you, ruku charge
you more.
Now when you raised your head, you say
what?
What that means?
Allah have heard the one who
have praised him. When when did you praise
the Allah?
You said when you're standing up you said,
And Allah said, Allah have heard the praise.
How Allah have heard the praise? Remember we
said what he says. When he said, Alhamdulillah
he said what?
Hamadani Abdi. My my servant have praised me.
And Allah tell us, ensure us that you
have to remember that Allah heard the true
person.
Say, you're the worth you have the best
of praise. You are the worthy of praise.
All the praise, the praise that can fill
heaven and earth.
And everything that you have created.
Give him the best of praise.
By the way, one of the things that
in salah,
don't keep silent.
You know, sometimes somebody recite Quran,
the imam for example,
and in salah, the,
not loud salah, salah al Syria.
You know, when people recite Quran and you
don't hear them, low voice.
Imam recited Surah Al Duha, and he did
what? He did Al Qawthir.
People do it. Okay. I did my duty.
Now the rest. The rest is thinking about
other things.
When are you gonna finish?
Don't do that.
You recite Al Qadr, and you know only
Al Qadr, recite Al Qadr time, second time,
third time.
Don't engage except in worshiping. Don't allow yourself
to be in a moment that your mind
wandered.
Engage.
Make always dikr,
The citation of Quran. Okay? Therefore, sometimes
the imam finish,
we will wait.
Then we make sujood.
In Sujood, you have reached the peak of
salah.
This is the peak of it.
And when you reach the peak, you did
what? You need to maximize
the pleasure.
Why?
Because it's the closest position it can be
in to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. There's no
closer position more than this, the sujood.
That's why
do what?
Make dua. You make dua. Ask Allah whatever
you like to ask him. But what you
do in sujood when your head is down,
your nose is down?
He says
was the high the highest.
You are the lowest,
and Allah is the highest.
The sujood,
and sujood, by the way, is the most
important and honorable
thing a human being can do to Allah
for Allah
or before Allah. Sujood. That's why the sujood
of Tilawah and the sujood of Shukr.
Something happened to you.
The ayasir, you get a promotion.
And instead of calling Muhammadan telling me for
is he make shukr to Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala. He make the shukr.
So do the sukur, live shout to you.
You don't have to have wudu. You get
good news.
Qibla. What is qibla? Allahu Akbar.
Before you make any phone call,
you make that that call to Allah thanking
him.
Okay? That means sujud is always it is
a way to go.
And when we do sujud,
and I will conclude,
here we have to remember
this small head
will look like what? Our this part of
body look like what?
Does it look like a square?
It's a ball kind of Look like a
ball,
isn't it? Am I correct?
This small ball here
in the spot at Adam's center or in
her house,
there's so many things in this world,
planets,
galaxies, and so forth, everything submitting to Allah
Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala. Praising Allah.
Our head become part of this universe.
Allah
says in Quran.
To Allah prostrate whatever it is in heaven,
whatever is in earth, make a sujood.
When you make sujood,
we have to remember this head. Actually,
if you put it in the universal map,
you cannot see America
from far distance if you are in the
space
with the naked eye. You're gonna see small
something called earth.
Something small, you
know. You you will not be able to
to recognize America. Would you? Would you be
able unless you use
something, equipment.
Do you see all the details in the
moon?
No. When we're children, we thought the moon
is something just light,
you know. We thought the light itself. Then
when people went to the moon, they found
that it's rugs and so forth and, you
know, it's just stones.
When we make sujood, Allah
see that head,
that heart,
Kalb.
That organ. The small things in our in
us, the feeling, he sees that.
Would you imagine that? Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
recognize that that's the sujood of someone who's
nothing compared to his creation.
That was to do this.
And we end our salah
by saying that the shahood,
And the shahood is written for you there.
You said the prayer, the blessing, and the
good deeds. The prayer and the good deeds
and solitude all belong to Allah.
And you say what? You say what? You
send the blessing upon prophet Muhammad for
the one who taught us all to pray.
And when you see names of Musa as
well, we have to give him really the
salam and thank him for what he have
done for us. This is salam. And then
we make the salam not for only the
russuah sallam, but for our eyes, for our
self. To say what?
The blessing upon us, peace upon us,
and our other sincere servants of Allah.
Because in salah in in in fact I
said what,
you we worship, whom we worship.
Pray to Allah. There's many people who pray
to Allah.
And then
by the ending of this salaam,
we say what?
Assalamu alaikum because we have to reach and
and benefit from this salah, the peace, the
tranquility.
Salah is a journey
of the spirit to the heaven and that's
why we become like angel. We praise Allah.
We don't talk when talk. The angel prostrate
and pray to Allah
Allah. And you can see the benefit of
those things points, Insha'Allah, written in your
notes there with you. If any questions,
this topic, as I get the note, is
more than 1 session
supposed to be. But
I thought if I extended all the session
to 2 sessions,
I it will become a very long,
series.
But I would like you to reflect more
into this. And next week, I might not
be here but another sheikh
might come and teach or someone
do the Quran.
I have so far, Sheikh Mohsen Najjar volunteer,
but we'll discuss it with the organizer who's
named Badri Asar site.
And but there will be a class. There
will be a class. I want you to
come, inshallah. But
the,
you know, the following week, inshallah,
after that we'll continue.
Any questions?
What is the Surah Fatra is
in the reading.
Verse 45.
Is
To guard the salah that
the people who don't humble themselves
and they don't seek Allah pleasure
in salah. Salah is difficult for them. It's
a burden.
It's not something they enjoy. It's something that
they want to get rid of. You know,
sometime we play Asia.
Last thing, we watch a movie. We eat
the popcorn.
And last thing, you know, we are so
sleepy,
we come to Asia.
It take half a second.
Because Khlas, hamdulillah,
the movie was very nice. The popcorn was
very delicious.
And now there's Aisha standing before Allah.
Give him the worst time. That's why, by
the way, that's why it's quite correct. There's
no enough time to cover this issue. Don't
pray when you're very sleepy.
Don't pray when you have urgent to go
to bathroom.
Don't pray that when you were in not
comfortable clothes, very tight clothes, you're thinking about
your clothes and this and that
and no. You don't do that. You don't
pray in the place where you distract get
distracted. The music is loud in the living
room and you like to pray in the
thing. What he said to the people, you
know, some people pray in halftime.
So halftime is a long time. Some people
told me that because I am really not
good in basketball.
But,
but the thing about the score,
you know, with the kind of score. All
commercial. They play in commercial. That is really
bad.
Play in commercial, time.
What what are we saying?
We give Allah
a time that is not quality time
when we are.
And don't pray when you are hungry too.
Isha, the the asha, the dinner.
You know, the meats and the the things
on the on the table and you smell
it and say, let let me get rid
of isha so I can eat comfortably.
You are not eat you are not you
are not praying comfortably, but you want to
eat comfortably.
That means we're thinking about the food and
those no. Said
what? Eat
a full stock
and then come pray. Don't let the the
food distract you.
Don't pray in tremendous heat.
You you go outside
in a picnic, whatever,
and it is a zen, it is hot.
You go to the shade. You know, some
people pay in in in in this concrete
and they're hand like this, and the salah
and not what is this? Why? Because you
want to say just a page. You want
just to take it out from thing to
do today.
You know, that have things thing to do
today. Oh, lord. Yeah. Get rid of it.
Next.
No. Should enjoy
it. Or sometime people go and pray in
the place
because they think the Muslims, of course, they
have this attitude. It's my right to pray
in any place. You go to the airport,
in the middle of the line check and
so Allahu Akbar.
And what the rest of the salah?
It's
a traffic man.
Why is that? Why in the middle of
this? Why don't find a quiet corner and
play?
Why is this?
Habit.
Because you don't take it serious. Don't slack.
In conferences.
And even in some conference, I can see
some someone decide to pray in a hall
and the the organizer of the conference said,
brother, there's a hold for salah. Brother,
I I I'm praying. Isn't that Islamic conference?
Yes. Islamic conference. Yeah. But you distracting yourself
and distracting other people. Go go and pray
in the
area.
This kind of things. Before
they
said that all those conditions,
physical condition, we have to be not to
pray that in that urgency.
And sometimes we prayed, we know that we
have something to do after that.
Free your
things as much as we can. Other question?
Yes.
Says is is allowed to close the eyes
if
the thing distract you.
But some people when they close their eyes,
they go to more to wondering. They close
their eyes and then
they see things in red colors, green colors,
and that kind. That's not good.
K? Except unless you know that you're gonna
be distracted. But
it's look into sujood,
and take that distractions.
Try to follow what I said here. That
we look to those steps
thinking about Allah before
we enter salah.
Thinking about before whom we're gonna stand
and prepare ourselves mentally and emotionally
for the salah.
Yes, sister.
My question is about the pure intention.
We all agree that intention has to
be
Yeah. No. This this is a good intention
because
when you pray to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
asking his help,
that itself is a bada.
You're asking for Jannah,
nothing greater than that for you for
and you believe that he's
have Jannah and has Nar.
And you believe that in order to go
Jannah, you please him.
You believe that he has the wrist in
his hand. Hand. This is essence of Ibadah.
You're asking Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala for his,
you know,
for things that he ask us to ask
for.
He said, ask me for paradise.
Ask for for my gift, for forgiveness.
Ask me when you need help. That's why
you can't have with what you can't assign.
Therefore, it's worshiping.
His sake alone, for his sake alone manifest
itself in reward.
He reward us for it. Therefore, when he
ask for the reward that means you're doing
for his sake.
Therefore, it is
you know, when we worship Allah, subhanahu wa
ta'ala, we worship him and we have Rajah.
Hope that you forgive our sin. That
he also can punish us. There's also a
level of it. Now it's very important to
to have that. It is in the Quran
Allah Subhanahu
Wa Ta'ala
that
ask Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala seeking his pleasure
and seeking his raja, hope that he forgive
your sins.
Okay. Now I think it's, Asia now. They
have to call for Asia prayer. Ask Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala to forgive our sins. Ask
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala to accept our salah.
Ask Allah to make us among those who
have and hampleness in salah. Ask Allah to
help us to concentrate in salah. Ask
Allah to help us benefit from salah. Ask
Allah
to have us
stay away from sin
and always seek his pleasure and his blessing
in this dunya and get his great reward
in akhirah.
