And also, our very active member of the
community, Brother Rashid, who is a security volunteer.
He is recovering from two knees surgery.
So please keep him in your du'a.
We ask Allah to give him a quick
recovery.
Just to clarify about the conference Brother Javed
announced.
Many of our youth, they're having confusion about
the deen.
They have questions that they have doubts about
Islam.
And unfortunately, the atmosphere and the environment does
not help much.
So we are dedicating this conference on December
14th to answer all the questions, or as
much as we can, the questions of our
youth that they are confused about.
We have a QR code on the banner
where our youth or anybody could post a
question.
We're going to look at all the questions
and collect the most asked questions and give
them to our scholars to answer them on
that day.
Whether you think that your kids are strong
in their deen or they're not very strong,
make sure they come.
Because the stories, I don't want to take
a lot of time from the khutbah, the
stories that we hear on a daily basis,
it scares us so much.
And before we go up there, make sure
that constantly, constantly, make a lot of du
'a for your children.
I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger
of Allah.
I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger
of Allah.
Come to prayer.
Come to prayer.
Come to success.
Come
to success.
Allah is the Greatest.
Allah is
the Greatest.
There is none worthy of worship except Allah.
My dear, beloved, respected brothers and sisters, I
ask Allah to bless me and you with
ikhlas, with sincerity, in everything that we say
and everything that we do.
So these four brothers, they came out of
the masjid.
It was a nice day.
They sat down, put a dish of ful,
some beans, and they started eating together and
joking around.
They are blood brothers.
Then a man, handsome man, elegantly dressed, came
out of the masjid, and he was about
to get into his brand new fancy car.
The driver came out, opened the door for
him.
As he's going inside the car, he heard
one of the brothers say, This is life.
This is life.
So the man asked the driver to wait
a second, and he came back to the
four brothers.
He said, Who said this?
First, they were scared.
You know, in our country, this happened overseas.
First, they were scared, who's this guy?
He's going to ruin our life right now.
So the man said, I did.
So he asked him, Are you married?
He said, Yes.
How many kids do you have?
He said, I have four, and inshallah, the
fifth is on the way.
He said, I've been married for 17 years,
and I don't have any children.
You see this ful, the beans that you're
eating?
That is my favorite dish.
Seven years, I'm not allowed to touch it,
unless I take three, four pills before, and
two, three pills after.
Are you related?
Yes, we are all siblings.
Ten years, my siblings never contacted me.
We don't speak to each other.
Now you tell me, who has the life?
Unfortunately, my brothers and sisters, when we think
about a good life, the first thing that
comes to mind is wealth.
When we think about richness, the first thing
that comes to mind is money.
Rasulullah, one time he asked Abu Dharr, and
he said, Do you think that
richness is having abundance of money?
Abu Dharr said, Yes, Ya Rasulullah.
Then Rasulullah asked, Do you think poverty
is the lack of having money?
Abu Dharr said, Yes, Ya Rasulullah.
Now we're getting this lesson from the educator
of the ummah, He said, Wealth
is in the heart, and poverty is in
the heart.
Whoever wealth is in his heart, will not
be harmed no matter what happens in the
world.
And whoever is poor in his heart, he
will not be satisfied no matter how much
he has of this world.
And if you're poor in your heart, doesn't
matter how much you have, you own the
whole world, you're still miserable.
In another hadith, Rasulullah S.A.W. hadith
is in Bukhari, He said, Richness and wealth
is not having many possessions, rather true wealth
is the richness of the soul.
My brothers and sisters, we want to talk
today about ar-rida.
Ar-rida, being pleased with Allah's decree.
As a matter of fact, Rasulullah S.A
You want to be the richest
man on earth?
Do you want to be the richest man
on earth?
Rasulullah S.A.W. said, Be satisfied, be
content with what Allah S.W.T. decreed
for you, you are the richest man on
earth.
Short, you're poor, you're sick, you have an
autistic child, you have no children, الحمد لله,
I am pleased with whatever Allah S.W
.T. decreed for me.
The rida of Allah S.W.T. is
the ultimate goal of every single believer.
And it is by itself the greatest achievement
any believer can reach.
Allah S.W.T. said,
And the pleasure
of Allah is the greatest and that is
the ultimate success.
What is rida?
There are many definitions.
I chose one beautiful definition when one of
the scholars said, الرِّضَةُ سُكُونِ الْقَلْبِ إِلَى اخْتِيَارِ
The tranquility
of the heart because of the choice of
the Lord.
Now there is a misunderstanding.
Sometimes people that think that rida, خَلَص, I
am sick, that's it.
I don't have to do anything, I have
to be accepting this sickness.
No, rida is not about giving up.
Rida is to exhaust all your efforts, to
exhaust all the means and then you are
content with the result.
I cannot have children.
I went here and there and I tested
and I did everything possible and then no
children.
I am rabi, I accept.
I have chronic pain in my back.
I went to this chiropractor, that doctor, this
doctor.
I traveled overseas.
I took by all the means and the
pain is still there.
I am rabi.
So we have to exhaust all the efforts.
Not just give up immediately and say
No, you have to take by the means.
Hussain ibn Ali, رضي الله عنهما, he said,
Whomsoever put his trust in Allah's choice, will
not wish for anything except Allah's choice.
Will not wish for anything except the اختيار,
the choice of Allah عز وجل.
How to earn this rida?
How to earn this rida?
Knowledge.
Knowledge.
Give an example.
An old man who is a heart patient
went to the dentist.
And the dentist told him, We have to
operate on your teeth without anesthesia, because you
are a heart patient.
That will harm you.
Knowing that this information is coming from a
trusted, knowledgeable person, the man is accepting the
consequences.
Even though he will be in so much
pain, but because he knows that the other
choice is worst.
Knowledge.
Knowledge, number one of Allah
Knowing that the one who is يدبر, the
one who is running my affairs, do we
ever think, does it come to our mind?
Or could it possibly that my plans be
better than Allah's plans?
Impossible.
So when I know that the one who
is running my affairs is the all-knowing
himself, is the all-wise himself, is الودود,
he is the all-kind, he is the
all-merciful, he loves me more than my
own mother.
He is the only one who knows the
unseen.
He is the one who is running my
affairs.
When that is established in my heart with
يقين, then I am راضي, I accept and
I'm pleased with whatever came.
Just like that guy was pleased with the
decision, even though it's very painful.
But he's pleased because it came from a
trusted source.
Is there any better trusted source than رب
So number one, knowing Allah
Knowing that Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم said,
You will not die until you get what
Allah has decreed for you.
You will not die knowing that.
I will not die until I get every
penny Allah decreed for me.
Until I get those children, that food, that
house, whatever rizq Allah provided for me, decreed
for me, I will not die before I
get it.
Knowing that will make me pleased with Allah
And knowing that, Rasulullah
said, Whatever is with Allah cannot be earned
by disobeying Allah عز وجل.
That's very very extremely.
I wish that all of us understand this.
I wish that my brothers who go into
the haram businesses, I wish that they consider
this hadith.
This is the words of Rasulullah
عليه وسلم said, Don't ever think that the
things with Allah, which is the rizq, don't
ever think that you can earn it by
disobeying Him.
Opening a liquor store, opening a smoke shop,
and opening all these haram businesses, thinking that,
you know what, this is America, these are
kuffar, yallah.
Ya habibi, whatever is written for you is
coming.
You just got it through haram means.
Knowing
that Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم said, Whatever
happened to you, it will never have missed
you.
It will give me rida.
I did not do anything to earn this.
Second, knowledge.
How insignificant this dunya is.
It will make me very pleased.
It's a very short period of time.
My brothers and sisters, every other day there's
a janazah, and you name the age, it's
there.
Knowing how insignificant this dunya will make me
pleased, it's just, you know, I'm going for,
if I tell you, I will give you
50 million dollars, and you go to jail
for six months.
You're always thinking about the 50 million dollars
during the six months.
No matter what happened in that jail, how
bad is the sleep, how terrible is the
food, you're always thinking about the 50 million
dollars, you're thinking about the prize.
Similarly, we are in the dunya, always thinking
about jannah.
It's just a short period of time.
My mind is always on the prize.
Knowing how insignificant is this dunya will make
me pleased.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala said in surah
Whatever you have, whatever you have, think if
whatever you have is only enjoyment of this
dunya.
And whatever Allah has for the akhira, is
not only better, but it's also everlasting.
Don't you comprehend, Allahu Akbar.
Don't you comprehend, you are dedicating most of
your efforts and wealth and time for something
that is insignificant.
And the one that is gonna last forever,
you are not putting any effort towards it.
Don't you comprehend, I own both.
My brothers and sisters, we ask Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala to make us from the
people who are pleased with whatever He decreed
for us.
Two thousand people here or so.
If I ask every single one of you,
I say brothers, sisters, write down on a
piece of paper all your problems.
No name.
Write down on a piece of paper all
your problems, no name.
And we put them all in a box.
And then we say, take this box, and
take a paper from it now, and these
problems in that paper are your new problems.
Put your problems on a paper, put the
paper in the box, and then we're gonna
go back around, everybody choose another paper, and
this is from now on, they're your new
problems.
The minute you take that, you throw it
away.
Can I get another one?
You will take another one.
Astaghfirullah.
You throw it away.
And you wind up saying, please, give me
my paper back.
Give me my paper back.
Because if Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala gave
me and you the ability to know the
unseen, you will only choose the life that
you are in right now.
Because it was designed by the All Merciful.
My brothers and sisters, remember that Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala said,
Anything that afflicts
you, any harm that afflicts you, no one,
no one is going to remove it except
Allah azza wa jal.
So, when we want to complain, we do
not complain about the All Merciful to the
one who has no mercy.
Don't complain about the All Merciful to the
one who has no mercy.
See, tell him what you want.
Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, he said, whosoever
sees any affliction, you see someone paralyzed, you
say this dua.
Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, you don't
say it in front of the guy, you
don't say it to the person.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala saved me from
that test that you're going through.
And Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala favored me
over so many people.
Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, if you
say this when you see any calamity, any
person with hardship, that hardship will not come
to your life.
And Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam told us,
subhanallah, very beautiful dua.
I want everyone to memorize it.
Ya Allah, I ask you
a soul that is tranquil and that is
looking forward to meeting you and it accepts
your decree and you're satisfied, that soul is
satisfied with whatever you give.
Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam used to seek
refuge.
Ya Allah, I seek
refuge with you from a heart that does
not have khushu'a and from a dua
that is not answered and from a soul
that is not satisfied and from knowledge
that is not beneficial.
My brothers and sisters, the single wishes to
get married and the married is contemplating divorce.
The young wants to grow quickly and the
old wants youth to return.
The poor wants to become rich and the
rich wishes for the peace they lost chasing
wealth.
The unknown craves fame and the famous craves
privacy.
We always think it is always greener on
the other side, but the fact is no
one, no one has it all, but everyone
has enough if they just took a moment
to see it.
