AI: Summary ©
My brothers and sisters,
we are
talking about the letters that Rasulullah, hissalam,
sent
to the different rulers
of the world of the time.
This is Dawa in
from the Nabi Aray Salam in its finest
form, and this is dawah of, a particular
kind that today I,
I think we have left this completely.
Have
mercy on us. This is a letter that
he sent to Khosrow,
who was the Arabs called it called, them
called him, Kisra,
who was the emperor
of, Persia.
Abdullah ibn Hudhafah
was the messenger of Rasulullah.
The letter
read, in the name of Allah, the merciful,
the beneficent, Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim,
from Muhammad
the messenger of Allah,
to Kisra,
the great one of the Persians.
Peace be on him
who follows
right
guidance, believes in Allah and his messenger, and
declares that there is no deity except Allah,
the only God who has no partners and
Muhammad
is his slave and his messenger.
I wish to convey to you
Allah call for I am his messenger
to all of mankind
sent with a task
to warn all those who are alive
that doom will befall the unbelievers.
If you submit to Allah
you will be safe. If you refuse, you
shall bear the responsibility
of the Magians, and that was the
the Persians were called the Magians by the
Arabs.
Kisra
or Khosrow
was,
became very angry.
For one thing,
he,
he was not only
the emperor of the most powerful,
the wealthiest,
and the biggest empire
practically of all time,
an empire he was heir to an empire
that had lasted over 2000 years.
And he was also the,
among his vessel states,
was Yemen,
which was the
the the the kingdom just south of Al
Hajaz.
So he kind of considered Al Hajaz also
to be part of his kingdom. So he
got very angry, and he said, how dare
he write this letter to me
when he is my slave? Never believe in
Delhi.
Then he sent an order to Badan.
Badan was the governor of Yemen
and told him
to send 2.
Just look at this.
The arrogance of the of the king is
expressed also
in this, to send 2 men,
2 able-bodied men to arrest Mohammed
and bring him back to kiss to,
Persia.
He did not even
order
the
governor of Yemen to send a troop or
a regiment
or a detachment of the army. It's just
too
men. So it's it's very clear the the
arrogance
of the the Persians, as I said, mentioned
too, they considered Yevon to Yevon was part
of their kingdom. So as far as they
were concerned, you know,
this is not something that they
really give any any importance to.
Madan sent 2 men
to Madinah.
They were Abad Owe and,
Kharkara. These were the names, Abad the way
and Kharkara.
They came first to Madqah
and asked
about Rasulullah, they said they told him he
is in Madinah, so
they went further north
to Madinah.
The, reputation of of Persian power was enough
for their safety. So, you know, they they
didn't need to have an army with them.
The fact that they were Persians and they
came from Persia as emissaries of the king
was sufficient. Nobody would trust them.
When they reached,
when they reached, when they reached Taif
and they asked for Muhammad,
they were told that he was in Madirah.
The Taqif and the Quraysh were very happy
at this development,
and,
they said they they thought to themselves that
this is the end of Rasulullah
and the Muslims.
The man reached Badira
and
came to,
Rasoolullah,
and they gave him a letter.
And the letter said,
submit to these men and go with them.
If you do so,
Badar will write to Khosrow
and intercede for you,
and this will save you a lot of
trouble. If not, you know how powerful Khosrow
is. He will destroy you and your people
and your country.
So
this was the letter that they
gave and
gave to Rasulullah.
These men had,
long mustaches, and they had shaved their beards.
Rasool saw them and he disliked their appearance,
and he turned his face away.
And he asked them, who ordered you to
shave your beards? They said, our rub,
our lord.
He
said, my rub
my lord commanded
me to keep my beard and trim my
mustache.
So
he passed his blessed hand over his face
like this and he showed them. And he
said, my my lord has commanded me
to keep my beard and trim my mustache,
and he commanded the Sahaba also. He said,
keep your beards,
Leave your beards and trim your mustache.
There's a difference of opinion in the scholars
about the length of the beard and whether
leave it means leave it completely without touching
it at all or leave it means that,
you know, sometimes some people have,
it is genetic also.
Some people are very hush suit, and, their
beards grow
completely wild.
So some scholars have said that it is
permissible to to trim that beard to make
it look nice. It it shouldn't look like
a,
you know,
Though it's not like
that. It's just kind of wild. We're don't
don't leave it like that.
Do it and shape it.
Other scholars have said that it is not
possible to touch anything at all. Just leave
it as is.
But nobody,
no Muslim scholar
of any standing of any mother,
including she and Suni,
No one ever said that it is okay
to shave your beard. So please understand this
very clearly.
And, keeping the beard does not also mean
that you keep it in the way where
it looks like a shadow of the sun
on your face.
It is,
the beard must look like a beard, right,
not like something which is painted on or
something. So
depending on how question of length is
how long should it be, and we we
have the,
statement ibn al, Abdullah ibn al, who said
that my father used to once in a
year, he would hold it like this,
and he would cut
from below the fist. So it was, you
know, 1 fist long.
This is one opinion. The other opinion, as
I said, is to just leave it as
it is. But there's definitely no
opinion and no permission
to completely shave your beard.
To the extent that Imam Warifah Hamzal said
that the one who shaves his beard is
a Farsim and Fajr, and his
his witness must not be accepted in court,
and he must not lead Salah, and he
cannot do Jummah, obviously. Cannot do a khumr.
So it is a serious matter,
which we don't give,
credence to as as we should because not
only is it the sunnah of Rasool Allah,
but it is also his hakum
To go directly against the sunnah and to
directly disobey his hakam is kufr.
So please understand this very clearly. I don't
make the law of the rules. I'm only
telling you what the rules are.
So
said, my rub has commanded me to keep
my beard and trim my mustache. Then he
told them to wait for a day.
When they came the next day, he said
to them,
my rub has killed your rub this night.
My lord has killed your lord this night.
And they said, do you realize what you're
saying? Your arrest has been ordered for something
much less serious than this.
Do you really want us to write this
down and tell king Balan
what you have just said?
Said
yes.
And also tell him that my religion
and my kingdom will replace
Kisra, will replace Khosrow.
And sweep all before it.
And tell Badaam that if he accepts his
love, then I will give him what he
now has
and will make him a ruler in the
area that he now governs.
And then he gave them a gift
and ordered them to live. Now think about
this.
This is, you know,
something which is so
beautiful also to see in terms of.
Here are 2 people. Now these 2 people,
sure, they are the,
representatives,
and they have come on behalf
of
the
have been ordered to come by the king
of Yemen,
who is a vassal,
tributary, and a governor of the king of
Persia.
So,
you
know,
the
the
so, therefore,
they have some standing, but they are basically,
you know, ordinary soldiers. They're not generals or
something like this.
But and they have come with a letter,
which is highly insulting, which is
completely out of
out of order
as far as things are concerned. They've come
to arrest him, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, who
is a Nabi, who is a ruler of
his of his people.
And, the very fact that just 2 people
were sent is a sign of contempt
that
the Khosrow holds,
Rasool Rasool.
Yet Rasool
treats them with honor, treats them with good
manners, and gives them a gift,
and then tells them to go back.
Right?
He could have done all of this without
giving the gift. That would be perfectly perfectly
okay. There was no need to give away,
but he did that. He also gave his.
So it shows us the importance of Akhlaq.
And Akhlaq don't change because of who is
there.
Akhlaq is a reflection of yourself.
It doesn't depend on who the person is.
You behave with good manners because of who
you are, not because of who you are
facing.
They went back to Balan, to the king
of Yeba, and told him
what Rasulullah
had said.
Balan said, these are not the words of
a king. They are the words of a
prophet.
So let us wait to see what happens.
After a few days, a messenger came from
Persia with the news that Kisra had been
murdered
the very same night
that
mentioned by his own son.
The new
Khosro,
sent a message to Madam saying, I have
killed my father because of what he has
done to our noblemen,
and I want you to stop doing anything
to the prophet that my father ordered you
to do.
So that was the end of the story.
Badan became Muslim
as he recognized the miracle from Allah Subhanahu
Wa Ta'ala, and that was the beginning of
the spirit of Islam in US.
When
when when Khoso when Khisra received the letter
from
Rasulullah in his anger, he tore it up.
And when Rasulullah
heard about this, he said Allah will tear
apart his kingdom, and that is what happened.
Muslims conquered the entire kingdom of Persia.
Then we come to the
3rd,
letter that Rasool al Sarafsan sent. He sent
it to the
the, who was the ruler of Egypt. This
is the patriarch of Egypt,
the head of the Coptic church.
And the the Sahabi who took that was
Hatib
ibn Abi Balta,
who was sent with this letter. This letter
said, in the name of Allah, the merciful
and the beneficent, Bismillah Muhammad Ibrahim, from Muhammad
ibn Abdullah, from Muhammad ibn Abdullah
to Al Muqawqqas,
the great one of the cops.
Peace be upon those who follow
the right guidance.
I wish to convey to you the message
of Islam. Accept Islam, and you will be
safe.
Accept it, and Allah will double your reward.
Should you turn your back on it, you
will bear the responsibility
the corpse.
People of the book, let us come to
a fair agreement that we will never worship
anyone but Allah
and will not accept divinity
to anyone,
divinity of anyone
else,
and that none of us will give the
status of Lord of Rav
anyone alongside Allah.
If they refuse, say to them, bear witness
that we submit ourselves to Allah.
Now,
Mukokas,
he said, I have questions for you,
and I want you to help me to
reach understanding.
Now, again, if you think about this, you
know, these are the differences between king this
man was a king, but he was also
a religious scholar. He was also the head
of the Coptic church. So his Akhlaq and
his,
way of behavior is different from the Khosrow
of Persia.
With respect to,
Heraclius, for example,
Again, even though he was a king, but
Heraclius also was a religious scholar.
So these things,
you know, your your knowledge, your raising, your
upbringing,
all of these things make a
difference.
This is a very important thing to understand.
So he said, I have, questions for you,
and I
Hathi said, indeed he is.
Then Mukhaka said, then why
if he is a prophet, did he not
pray
to have his people destroyed to have his
people destroyed when they drove him out of
his land? He said he was a prophet.
And when the Quraysh
drove him out of his land, why did
he not pray for the
for
the destruction?
Hadith said, take Jesus.
Do you now bear witness that he is
the messenger of Allah? Mokuba said, yes. Indeed.
I do. Hatib said, well, what about him?
When his people took him and wanted to
crucify him, would he not have prayed for
his people to be destroyed
when Allah raised him up to the lower
heaven?
Al Mokgosh said, you have come.
You are a wise man, and you have
come from a wise man.
These are,
and then he gave him gifts. He said,
these are
presents that I'm dispatching with you,
for Muhammad sallallahu alaihi salam.
And I am sending with you a guide
to take you safely to your land.
So as I said, these are,
this is the difference between somebody who is,
He sent
2 slave girls, one of whom was Maria
who
married. The other was married to Hassan bin
bin. He also sent a mule called.
His response was very polite, but he did
not become Muslim.
We asked
to help us to
do that which pleases him and save us
from that which does not please him.
When I read,
these things in history,
I ask myself, you know, how history would
have been different
if
these people had behaved differently.
But one of the
very big,
lessons also here is
the danger of,
the danger of fame and name and power
and authority.
It makes it even more difficult to change
for somebody like, the mokompos of Egypt
or, the Khosrow of Persia
or or even for that matter. Change will
be difficult,
because, you know, you are giving up there's
so much more to give up.
The exception to this was, An Najashi of
Abyssinia who, despite all that, he saw the
truth, and he accepted it, and he became
Muslim.
Even though he
kept it secret, he did not,
reveal it. But,
Rasulullah
knew knew this. And when he passed away,
came
to and said, your brother has died, and
please, make
for
him. And
pray prayed
which we know
as.
He called us up. I said your brother
in has died, and we've prayed for him.
And this was
this was the only time that Rasulullah
prayed for
the king of Abyssinia who passed away, who
was a Muslim. He did not pray Salatul
Bay for anyone else even though many Sahaba
died in foreign lands,
away from Adena,
in the life of himself. He never prayed
for anybody.
That's it is the only incident
where he did
that. We come to, again,
one of the
biggest of the incidents
and biggest of the events
of the sharia
of the seerah, which is Fatawaka. Now during
the Jairiyah, a man from Varun
Hadrami,
who was an ally of, Banu Bakr. The
Khuzah killed him and took his money. Now
Banu Bakr killed 1 of the Khuzah. The
Khuzah then targeted
3 of,
Banu al Aswad al Bakr.
The,
then Islam came, and in Solei Hudebia,
Banu Bakr entered into
an alliance with the Quraysh, and Hosea
became allies of.
The
wanted
to seek revenge for the 3 of them
who were killed.
1 of the leaders, attacked
some people from Khuzah.
These people were
close to the boundary of Al Haram,
but they were not ins but but now,
but not inside it. So they were close
to the boundary, but not inside it.
Most of his tribe refused to join him.
So and some people who were with him
attacked the and killed some of them.
The rest of them ran away and entered
the boundary of the Haram.
The people with reminded him that these people
were now inside the Haram. But Huawei with
no fault said, you're still inside the Haram,
and now you are complaining about taking
revenge to kill these people. Some of the
Mahesh also took part in the killing
and gave Baramaka arms and said it is
night, and Mohammed
will not know what we are doing. They
didn't know that Rasool was getting worried about
all of this.
While all this was happening,
the people ran away and entered Mecca itself
and took refuge
in the house of Badil bin
from
the Alarm.
I have been
immediately
went to Adina and conveyed the news to
in lines of poetry, reminding him of the
alliance they had with his great grandfather
and with him. Rasulullah
said, you will be helped. Yeah. Amr.
Rasulullah
considered this action as a breach
of Sole Abu Dabiya
even though
the whole of Banu Bakr were not involved
in the betrayal. Rasulullah
made
and asked Allah and said, oh, Allah, blind
them and conceal our advance from them. So
the did not know of the advance
of Rasool as Saddam's army until they were
on the outskirts of Mecca.
Now Rasool
immediately started preparations
preparations for war. Aisha
was
sifting flour to prepare rations for.
Saw her doing this and asked her, but
she did not tell him.
Then returned home and asked him and told
him.
Told him. Also
said, you will see coming
to renew the pact.
That's what happened.
Immediately, he realized that this is a big
problem
that has been created,
and,
he he wanted to, you know,
extend the pack or renew the pack,
of Hudebia.
And he came to Badinah to beg Rasool
al Sallam to renew the pact and increase
the time limit. That is,
it was now about 17, 18 months since.
Abu Sufyan met,
met Badil bin
and asked him where he was coming from.
He said that he was returning from the
coast visiting
some. Abu Zubayar did not believe him. Badil
had actually gone to Madera to meet him
and complain about what had done.
And when Badil left, Abu Zafya went to
the place where Badil's camel was tied and
examined its droppings.
He found crushed dead seeds in them. He
knew that this was
the camel feed of Madinah and that Badin
had gone to meet Rasool
Allah
was if he had went to the house
when he reached,
Madinah,
he went to the house of his daughter,
the wife of Rasoolah,
our mother.
There was a rug on the floor. I
was afraid I was allowed to sit on
it, but
pulled it away and rolled it up. So
I was a fan,
tried to make a joke of it, and
he said,
did you do that because the rug is
not good enough for me to sit on,
or is it because I'm not fit for
the rug?
I remember I said, this is the right
of Rasool Allahu alaihi wa sallam, and you
are
a Mejis Musharik,
and I don't want you to sit on
the right of Rasool Allahu alaihi wa sallam.
Now this was the loyalty they had to
Rasool.
This is the
that Muslims must understand.
So Abu Zafar said, oh, my daughter, evil
has befallen you.
Now in the to to complete the story,
however, when
our mother mentioned this to Rasool
and said that my father came,
and this is what I said to him.
Rasool
was not happy.
He actually
reprimanded her, and he said that you do
not talk to your father like this. He
said you should have treated your father with
with honor,
with respect. Imagine this is Abu Sufia. He
is the greatest enemy of.
He has tried every trick in the book
to kill.
He
led 3 wars
against,
Rasool.
Despite that, this is how Rasool is,
instructing
the daughter of Musafian,
who was his wife, to treat her father
despite all of this.
I was a cameraman to Rasool Salam. He
came there when he met him,
and he said, I have come to I
want to renew
our agreement,
and add to the time. Rasulullah said something
happened from your end. I was a fan
said, no. No. Everything is fine. So Rasulullah
walked away. And
asked
him to speak to the to renew the
pact. But
refused. Then I was a bit I went
to
and begged him to speak to.
Said an hour
also
was humiliated
and was going from house to house begging.
Said, you want me to intercede
with Rasoolullah? If I have only ants to
fight you with, I will fight you.
Then he went to I was a guy
and then went to I live in Abid
Ali.
You know, the alarm.
And he said to him he asked him,
you know,
to speak to Rasool Salam
to renew the pact. And
then I read,
bin Abidai Radialano.
He said to him, woe to you,
Abu Sulfian. Once Rasool has decided on a
matter, we cannot speak to him
about anything.
Fatima
was there. She was playing with her son,
Hassan. Abu Sufyan spoke to her and said,
oh, daughter of Muhammad,
will you ask this son to give protection
to people who will make him the leader
of the Arabs for all time?
He's not trying to sort of
her son is a little
little toddler.
Fatima says,
my son is too young to give anyone
protection. In any case, once Rasool has
decided to fight, nobody can get protection.
Then he said, yeah, Abal Hassan. Things are
getting tough.
Please give me some advice.
Said,
you are the head of Banu Kehana, so
go to the Masjid and give protection to
your people.
Abu Sufyan said, do you think that will
do me any good? Then Ali said, I
don't think there is anything that will do
you any good.
Abu Suvayat went to the masjid, and he
said, oh, people, I give protection to you.
But people simply ignored him. Nobody wanted his
protection.
Yeah.
He returned to Makar, and he told the
people what happened. The people told him, did
approve it? I was a fan.
That time, he was not.
But then he said no.
The people said I leave it a fool
of you and played with you, and this
only added to your humiliation.
I wasn't I didn't know what else to
do. It was an amazing situation where the
leader of the Quraysh was now begging the
Muslims for protection.
So think about that. Today, we will still
have a feeling of inferiority about ourselves,
and we feel that we are being harassed
all over the world. It is true. We
see things
happening
everywhere.
But remember that if we get out of
this feeling and we get our confidence
based on our iman,
a position that Allah
give us,
then those who are oppressing Muslims will come
to the Muslims
suing for peace.
The condition is to have patience
and perseverance
and to persevere
in the face of
That is the key.
Allah
has destined
victory for the Muslims,
But it will happen at the
time that Allah has decreed,
and it will happen to Muslims who are
truly
Muslims. The Muslims today have people. We have
money. We have natural resources. We have everything
except demand.
We ask
for his help and and
trust in him.
Because without Iman, we are nothing.
Whatever we have,
the value of that is because of what
is in our hearts.
It cannot be replaced. What is in our
hearts cannot be replaced with oil or gold
or
weapons or people or numbers.
Today, we have 1,500,000,000
in the world. What does it matter? If
you go to a cemetery and somebody says,
you know, fear these people because there are
a 100000 here, you will fear fear fear
what? Dead bodies?
A heart without ima is a dead heart.
A heart a body with a dead heart
is a dead body.
So walking around like zombies makes no difference.
If we are not connected all of, we
are disconnected from life.
And that is the reason why everything begins
with dua. Everything begins with ta'ala maha'ala. Everything
begins with Tafar Tawhid.
We need to make Istighfar sincere, mister Tafar
Tawhid. We need to sincerely apologize to Allah's
mercy. We need to sincerely
repent our sins. We need to sincerely
focus on Iman and Yaqeen
and ask Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala for his
mercy. And
Allah promised to give that, provided we do
it.
Turn to the rabbi
and ask his tafar. Verily, he's the one
who forgives.
Then
nothing. Allah has given you already something which
is far more valuable
than this dunya, which is iman.
But if we have no value for the
iman, and we say, well, give me victory
in the duniya, even though I don't have
iman, then let's not do that.
In this duniya, victory is for the one
who has the biggest gun,
except when
a person has him, then Allah will protect
him, and then the big gun will not
will not not harm
him.
Allah will change the hearts.
The person with the big gun, instead of
trying to kill you, will bring his big
gun to support you, to protect you.
But that will not happen
unless
we become people of women. That is the
key.
Ask Allah
to change our hearts to and to fill
them with this with the
and we ask Allah to help us in
ways that,
only he can help us with.
And we ask Allah to make us worthy
of that.
