In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious,
the Most Merciful.
All praise is due to Allah, Lord of
the Universe.
And peace and blessings be upon the Messenger
of Allah and his family and companions.
My brothers and sisters, Islam is the name
of a relationship.
Islam is the name of a relationship.
Islam is the name of a relationship, the
relationship between us and Allah, between us collectively
and individually, one by one and all together,
between us and Allah.
Because of this, the first question after sitting
in our graves, what is the question?
What is the question?
Who is your Lord?
It is not, what is the Lord of
the Universe?
What do you mean?
What is the Creator of the heavens and
the earth?
What is the sustenance of the mighty?
This is not the question.
The question is, who is your Lord?
Islam is the name of a relationship between
us and Allah, individually and collectively.
And the evidence of that is the first
question that we will be asked after we
die in our graves is, who is your
Lord?
Who is your Lord?
The Malaika will not ask, who is the
Creator of the heavens and the earth?
Who is the one who feeds everybody?
Who is the one who is the Razaq,
who is the Khuwatil Mateen?
Who is the one, this, no.
Who is your Rabb, Man Rabbuka?
And Islam is the way of treating that
relationship by strengthening that relationship and not weakening
that relationship.
All our actions, whatever we do, they do
one of two things.
They either make that relationship stronger or they
make the relationship weaker.
Every single action, whatever we do, it makes
the relationship stronger or it makes the relationship
weaker.
And the Muslim is the one who focuses
on making that relationship stronger always, every action.
And that is why Allah subhanahu wa ta
'ala said the ayat which Sheikh Una recited
in the second rakat of this Salah in
Isha, Ala inna awliya Allahi la khawfun alayhim
wa la hum yahzanun.
This is the beauty of the Quran.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala first mentions the
fawaid, He first mentions the fadail before saying
what it is.
Allah says for the awliya there is no
fear and no sadness.
La huzan wa la tawf.
Huzan is with regard to the past, sadness
is with regard to the past, and khawf
is with regard to the future.
And the awliya of Allah, the special slaves
of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
This word awliya is sometimes translated as friends
and so on.
There is no friends, we don't have a
friendship relationship with Allah.
Allah is Allah.
We are Ibadullah.
Friendship means some level of equality.
There is no equality between us and the
Lord of the worlds.
Allah is the Lord of the worlds, He
is the Creator, the Master, the Judge and
everything else.
But yes, we are all Ibadullah.
So Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is not
just a friend, but Allah subhanahu wa ta
'ala, the awliya of Allah is the one
who Allah prefers, who Allah likes.
So Allah says for them there is no
huzan and there is no khawf, there is
no fear and there is no sadness.
Then Allah says, who are these people, alladhina?
Ma huwa alladhina?
Ma huwa al-awliya Allah?
Huwa misriyun, or suriyun, or iraqiyun, or lubnaniyun,
or palestiyun, or hyderabadiyun?
Or who are the awliya of Allah?
Are they people from Misr, and Syria, and
Iraq, and people who eat biryani, or people
who eat kurafa?
No.
Alladhina amanu wa kanu yattaqoon.
Israel, shurut faqat.
Shart al-ula, iman.
Bidun iman, laiza munkin awliya Allah.
Without iman, cannot be awliya of Allah.
Shart al-ula, first condition is, alladhina amanu.
These are the people who have iman.
Wa kanu yattaqoon, and these are the people
who have taqwa.
Now, what is the definition of taqwa?
Taqwa is to live your life with iman.
Iman is to believe la ilaha illa Allah,
Muhammadur Rasulullah.
That there is no one worthy of worship
except Allah.
And that Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wa sallam is
the messenger of Allah, is the Rasul of
Allah, and is the last and final Rasul
of Allah, after whom there is no Rasul.
And taqwa is to live our lives according
to this.
So it begins with salah, we say la
ilaha illa Allah, therefore when the time for
salah comes, we stand for salah with Allah.
So also, all the ahkam of Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala, and we apply and we
obey those orders of Allah in the same
way as we do salah.
What is that way?
How do you do salah?
What is the method?
The method of man huwa qal, sallu kama
rahaytu munehu salli.
At tariqatu salah, at tariqa man huwa qal,
sallu kama rahaytu munehu salli.
The way of the salah is the way
of the one who said, pray like you
have seen me pray.
Who is that?
Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wa sallam.
And this applies throughout.
Do business as you have seen me do
business.
Treat your wife as you have seen me
treat my wife.
Treat your husbands the way my wives treat
me.
Treat your children, raise your children the way
I raise my children.
If you have a disagreement with somebody or
fighting with somebody, disagree the way I disagree.
If you are in war, in battle, fight
the way I fight.
When you have somebody in your power and
control, a prisoner, treat him the way I
treat them.
Everything.
Kullu ghur fi hayatina ala tariqatil mustafa
sallallahu alaihi wa sallam.
This is the meaning of Islam.
Taqwa is to live our life on the
tariqa of Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wa sallam.
Alladhina amanu wa kanu yattaqun.
And for those who do that, what did
Allah say?
Lahumul bushra fil hayati dunya wa fil akhirah.
Both.
For them there is good news, there is
glad tidings in this life and in the
next life.
Lahumul bushra fil hayati dunya wa fil akhirah.
And Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala assured and
said, la tabdila li kalimatillah.
This is the word of Allah, this does
not change.
The name of a relationship.
And that is why I remind myself and
you, let us examine our own lives.
Don't worry about others.
Don't look at others, don't point fingers at
others, don't tell others, don't make speeches, don't
go...
Nothing, nothing, nothing.
Yourself.
If I cannot correct myself, I cannot correct
anybody else.
If I am eating haram, I can tell
everybody else to eat halal, they will eat
halal, they will go to jannah, I will
still go to jannah.
Please understand this.
I can be saying good things.
I can be telling people, please pray five
times a day in the masjid, but I
never see the inside of a masjid.
They will go to jannah, I will go
to.
If I don't pray, I go to the
rah.
We should tell people this.
I'm not saying that we should not tell
people until we are perfect.
We will never be perfect.
That's okay, we can tell people, but we
have to focus on our actions first.
What is my aqidah?
Is my aqidah on tawheed or is my
aqidah corrupted and polluted with bidat and with
shirk and with kufr and with this and
that?
Check that.
Iman.
Yani?
Aqidatul tawheed.
Iman billah faqat.
Wala tusirikubihi shai'a.
No one to join with Allah.
And once we have aqidatul tawheed, then we
go to the sunnah of Rasulullah sallallahu alaihi
wa sallam.
Do we follow the sunnah?
Today we think that the hub of the
rasul is to sing nasheeds.
It is not the hub of the rasul.
The hub of the rasul is to follow
the tariqah of the rasul.
Ittiba'a alrasul.
Ad-daliluhu lazim fi amalina.
Ittiba'a alatariqatul rasul, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam.
Ad-dalil.
Why is it nasheed or qadha or qadha?
It is good, masha'Allah, there is no
problem.
But what is important?
Nasheed or amal.
That is very important.
It is very, very critical.
Singing nasheed and singing da'at and this
and that and so on and having jalsa
and party and this lecture, that lecture.
What is my amal?
Is my life on the sunnah of Rasulullah
sallallahu alaihi wa sallam?
Do I look, my appearance, is it like
the Nabi sallallahu alaihi wa sallam?
My actions, my speech, my treatment of people,
my mu'amilat, my mu'ashara, my akhlaq.
Are these like the akhlaq and mu'ashara
and mu'amilat and everything like Rasulullah sallallahu
alaihi wa sallam or not?
If they are there, alhamdulillah, ma fi mushkilah.
With that, if I sing a nasheed, alhamdulillah,
mubarak.
But even if I don't sing a nasheed,
it does not matter.
Whether you know a nasheed or not is
not a question on the Day of Judgement.
But did you follow the Rasul or not
is a question in the Qamar.
When the malaikah come, they will not ask
you, how many nasheed do you know?
They will ask this, no.
Now, brothers and sisters, please, let us understand,
build this relationship with Allah subhanahu wa ta
'ala because this is the only relationship which
stays with us after our death.
Everything else will finish.
Our relationship with our parents and our friends
and everyone, khalas, finished.
And that's true, if you know the hadith
of Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wa sallam.
He said, when the man dies, all his
amr will come to an end except three.
What are the three?
Sadaqul jariyya, your good deeds, and waladu s
-salih.
Waladu s-salih does not have to be
your own walad.
It can be whoever you raise, whoever you
teach, and so on and so forth, alhamdulillah.
So, we must look at that.
What am I doing?
How is it happening?
Everything else will finish.
Our ta'aluk and our connection with Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala is the only thing
which remains when we die.
So, let us focus on that, inshallah.
We ask Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala to
strengthen that and to make us among His
ibad, among His awliya, inshallah.
We ask Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala to
help us to do all that it takes
to please Him and to be pleased with
us and to accept Him and to make
it easy for us.
Wa sallallahu ala nabiyyil kareem wa ala alihi
wa sahbihi ajma'in.
Bi rahmati lillahi wa barakatuhu.
