the
Allah,
Allahu, Akbar, subhanAllah wala ILAHA, illallah, Allahu, Akbar,
jazakallahin, subhanAllah, walaka wa, salam, Subhan Allah wa,
Alhamdulillah, WA, LA, ILAHA, illallah, Allahu, Akbar, walaykum
as salaam, warahmatu, salaam, warahmatullahi wa, thank you all
so much for joining waleka Muslim like at your from Chicago. So
hello, Alhamdulillah. Wali Kumar,
to listening
from Malaysia.
Allah from Qatar,
is such an honor to speak with you. Masha. Allah,
me too. I'm really so happy and sorry, but good. I'll make you. I
make you. Make it a lot of zikr while you are waiting, masha
Allah, inshallah goes to you. Inshallah.
Masha Allah, bless you. Just asking if my voice is clear, or
should I use the Maya, is it clear? For me, it's clear, but it
might be a little bit echoey for someone. Do you have another way?
Oh, finally,
just use the mic.
Just try, just try to put your voice in it. Let's see if it makes
a difference. Okay, I
minute, like this
is better. Oh, hmm, Can you recite anything for us,
like this? Is it better? No, no, the other way is better.
Okay, without
okay, like this. She says,
masha Allah, she is a scholar. She has a Masters in Quran and Sunnah.
She is completing her PhD in Quran and Sunnah. MashaAllah, she has
the ijaza of the Quran. She teaches Quran and Subaru Allah.
Her recitation is incredible, mashallah, and we're so honored to
have you with us. Sheha, because especially someone who you know
mashallah, you don't, you don't. You didn't just study for
yourself, but you're also teaching other people. And I know that you
have a background where you started in Algeria and then you
moved to Malaysia. Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and
your journey.
Okay, Bismillah. Salatus,
salam ala rasulino, yes, I am really so happy to be with you
today, and it's really very nice once we we can find the people
that we love, even we we haven't meet each other yet. So at the
beginning, I will tell you that I love you for the sake of Allah,
may Allah, bless you.
I mean, and, and really,
in love with what you are doing at what what you are sharing, and you
are trying to find women around the world to share their
experiences. Masha, Allah, may Allah, bless you. InshaAllah,
bless you. And to all of those who are willing to share their
experiences with the Quran. It's
such a gift. The first thing, I'm not scholar at all. Okay,
we are still learning, and you are seeking knowledge as much as we
can. May Allah accept from all of us. Inshallah,
okay, so if, if I want to start talking about my journey with
Quran,
it's Alhamdulillah that I was born in a family that they encourage us
to go to the madrasa of Quran, since we are kids, like five years
old, and we have to go. So I used to enjoy to go there, even
everyday after the school, we finished the school, immediately
we go back there to the small, small madrasa. Used to be a.
Used to be in every street there is a small madrasa. It means it's
very small school. Actually, it's not big Madras, just a small,
sometimes garage. And we sit there and the is teaching us. We start
from the Haru, and we used to learn, actually that time with the
with a wood, Woody, what you call it?
Then, yeah, it's just small with wood. We use it. We call it as a
it's like a board. Then we write with this ink. It's, it's homemade
ink. So we write, we copy from the most health. We copy from the most
health. Then we go to show the study if it's correct. So we
correct us our writing, then we have to memorize and we read it to
him, Alhamdulillah. So we used to have just maybe a small, small,
like everyday, maybe three lines of Quran. We read it to him and go
and we clear it again and take it. So it was a process, but it was
interesting, especially for the kids, they like to do it because
after you finish, you go and declare it with
YALI with our hands. Then we write again. So Alhamdulillah,
this I memorize until surati has seen in this way when I was until,
until maybe 10 years old or 11 years old. So we reach to Surat,
Yasin, Alhamdulillah, the quarter of Quran. Alhamdulillah.
After that, I
used to go to another schools like, like become we go to the
USADA again. We stop from USA. We go to ustava more, because so many
kids are girls together, and we have so many activities, and even
the nasheed. We used to memorize the nesheed of
the songs, the Islamic songs, which is they really make us yeah,
there is a
there is a fun but at the same time, it's related to Quran and to
the prophets on our Salam and like this.
But there's something actually I want to share, which is the first
time I will share it today with you
when I was in the age of 15 years old, which is that age? Age is the
teenager, usually that time, either you will choose the right
path by Allah guidance, or we will be in the other way. So
alhamdulillah, for the guidance of Allah. Before this, it was was not
mature enough. But I remember, on the tears of Allah, I just find
myself. I love to go to to sit alone in one of the rooms at home,
and I just read for and have to read it every day, after Malik,
and after I finish my part, I go to read a dua that I found it in
the in the end of the mush. Every day, every day I read it, I felt
that Subhanallah that moment, make me a different person. And Allah
send a lot of barakah in my life and in my path. After that, after
I joined the the high school, the high school, Allah, Alhamdulillah,
Allah grant me very good friends that we used to share the books
more. We, we will. We try to listen to more talks like poems,
like poem of nunia Josiah, that's talking about the Jannah. And we
used to try to memorize it more. And wow. So I so what, what I want
to say is Subra Allah, if you, if you try to find the time between
you and Allah, make it a secret. It was a secret, actually, but
today I'm telling this to everyone. I'm not sharing because
it's because I'm showing off. No, but I want people to maybe, maybe
to learn from this. Try to find a part, a small part, maybe half an
hour or or one hour. Every day. You see it with yourself and
Allah, because, as we know, there is a
talk that it said
either Arata and to kill him, Allah.
Tend to call him Allah. Quran, if you want or if you need to talk to
Allah subhanahu wa, taala, go in the prayer, because the prayer is
to talk to Allah subhanahu wa, and if you want Allah to talk to you,
read Quran. Yeah. A Quran is words of Allah subhanahu wa, it's the
message from Allah to us.
So I felt that this was the point of change in my life. I felt that
I'm different person. Alhamdulillah, and the good thing
in
continuing my journey with Quran that time, I stopped to go to
madrassa because I couldn't find proper madrasa during the time of
the school, but I tried to memorize by myself, or revise all
what I memorized, it before Subhanallah, and after that I went
to the University. What happened in the time of before I go to
university? We have that year, the last year, uh.
Um SubhanAllah. That time I wanted to choose Islamic Studies. Kalas,
it was my concern. I want to learn to continue Islamic Studies. The
thing that what happened on that year, Alhamdulillah. Usually, I
did literature. Usually people, those who get good marks,
especially in science and maths, they choose to go to science,
okay, but I was the first one. But I didn't choose to be in the
science because I said, No, I want to continue to study Islamic
Studies Inshallah, so I will need to go to study more literature
then, then in in in that year, subhanAllah, usually every year,
those who are in scientific field, they got the the always the first
place, then always the those who are non scientific, whatever is
they will be in the latest but on that year, it was exception.
SubhanAllah. I was the first one who got the high
mark, and Alhamdulillah. So when I I have the first like the good
Alhamdulillah mark, it was everything of my my teachers
asking me, Zaina, why you don't go do that? You had so many choice
choices, whatever you want to choose, just choose, because your
marks is very good. I was No, I want only Islamic Studies,
whatever. I don't care about people what they are saying. I
just want to learn Islamic Studies. It's my this is the major
that I want to learn, Alhamdulillah. And I have done my
osofico in in the University of Algeria.
But my real journey of Quran starts after that. Okay, all this
I don't consider as a journey, still, the real one starts with,
yeah, I Subhanallah because I was studying in the capital. So from
my city to the capital, it's almost six hours driving. So on
that six, Algeria is a huge country. So the way I'm going, I
always making draw that I can finish my memorization of Quran,
because even University, yes, I memorize the first 15 years. So
now, like half of Quran I already memorized, but still in the
middle, I haven't finished. What happened is SubhanAllah.
I was reading always about Shaykh, who is teaching Quran. And so many
students, they already memorized Quran, and this jail is in my
city, but he used to teach only boys. It is no girls.
So what happened? I still remember, in the last year
wherever I'm going, you know, I always keep my idea Mustache In
The travel and musafir, yes.
So I'm, I was your Allah, I want to meet this shaykh, yeah, Allah,
make him my Shaykh. And I want to learn and memories for and from
him. It was one my dua on that year, the year that I graduated,
he announced that he will start to teaching girls. Allah.
Allah,
yeah, and actually facilitated all these other women to study under
heaven. Inshallah, from your Yeah,
yes, yeah. The DUA is so powerful. We just, we don't know how to use
it. It's, it's a very blessed gift from Allah. Do you have any
problem with Quran? Don't worry. Just start make a lot of dua. And
with sincere Inshallah, with Allah will make it easy for you. So what
happened is Subhanallah that year, he started to teach us, and I was
super, super happy to go like if you ask me, what is the most
happiest times in my life? I will tell you that it was the times
when I was sitting
and reading to my Sheik. And we are groups like this, subhanAllah,
we started the time 20 girls only, masha Allah, and the first day,
actually, what happened? I was in the seventh day of them, like they
already started before me, seven days. Then once I heard about I
just go. Then Sheik used to
your level to see how do you read? So he asked me to read to see my
level.
I used to be, actually try, like to imitate the reciters. Oh,
yes, since I was a kid, I love to imitate them. And this actually
goes back to my mother. May Allah, bless her. Inshallah,
the first thing, the first thing we hear when we wake up in the
morning is the sound of Quran, the recitation. Who was all this?
Sorry? Who would she have playing? Was it?
She reciting, or she would have she listening. No, no, she just
put a radio for us or a cousin. And we listen everyday in the
morning. So the first thing when wake up we hear is the Quran all
like, and she make it louder, so to make us wake up, and at the
same time we are listening to Quran. So this is the first thing.
So I remember it was always like, put in either two days or some
days she puts the sheik, anti Muslim. Anti Muslim is Egyptian,
okay,
and his voice is so nice, and he is within, like the charanon way,
like Abdul bastard, Abdul Samad. And so I remember Subhanallah
this. I feel that it was recorded in my in my brain. So once I'm
walking, I'm doing everything, you will find I'm reading like him,
exactly, imitating him automatically. This is actually,
yeah, this is advice for all the mothers,
if you want to make your
kids love Quran. Just no need even to ask them to love it, or to go
to tell them this, put the Quran every day. But there is something
very important. We should not put the Quran like on TV. We leave it
just going on and we are speaking laughing, saying everything. When
it is something else, we see it like when we maybe the Father's
Day, when, when there is a match of football, or they see it, and
they are folks seen and why they shouldn't speak.
But when it is Quran, we just speak, leave it going on. And
this, we teach them that there is no respect to Quran. If you put
Quran at home, or even when you are driving, you have to show them
the respect of Quran. And it's worship for us that we listen to
Quran wherever, whenever we are. So that thing, I think, was very
good because it's early in the morning and nobody is speaking,
everybody is silent. So we listen the Quran and we enjoy, enjoy to,
to listen to them.
So this make me after that, trying to, to to to love to hear most of
the reciters that time. So many of them, and whoever I listen, I find
myself imitating automatically.
So what happened with my Shaykh? Going back to the story with my
Shaykh, he said, Okay.
Then I said, Bismillahi, Rahmani, Rahim, Allahu, ahada Allah.
Mother,
you
had those who know stage, we for sure they will find so many
mistakes. I'm saying no,
if you can see I'm adding a lot of color for every half.
So he said, Okay, mashallah, good, but you know, no need to say honor
wellana
additional is everywhere, I know because maybe you are listening to
some reciters and this affects your recitation.
Then we start to learn more and more Alhamdulillah.
And the same thing actually happened in university. There is a
teacher, a lady teacher, teaching us Quran. Then one day she asked,
asking me to read. Then when I recite this ayat from Surat Toba,
so I was sitting and seeing like this young and
when I read, I said,
Be
Oh,
so I'm doing the same the same way, exactly. Oh, so this was read
this. I had the invitation, so she said, Okay, Zainab, I know that
today's Mashallah. He's a bit fat, and when he is reading, he is
standing up so he feel ah,
like this. But how about you
to this point? Have you imitating to this point?
Yeah,
so, I mean, this is the effect that when, when you, when you
listen a lot,
this help you to imitate then.
Now I can imitate some of them. But after that, I found that the
best,
and I'm sure you agree with me this way
to listen, is a sheik alhori.
Sheik, sorry, ah.
Khalil and I can advise
all my sisters to listen to him. Why? Because, by the ijma of all
the reciters and the ralema of Tajweed, that he is
one of the best, or he is the best. Why in maharis and sifel,
when he read, everything is clear, is very clear, is very clear. And
he read very slowly, because most of the reciters that we hear, they
record them while they are in taraweeh, yeah. And when they are
away, they read very fast, yes, right? And sometimes even some,
some who come gone, yeah, some met go.
Some God, we understand. Because even for us, this may maybe happen
to us, because they are reading bit faster, but may Allah, bless
him, I feel that he is. I always say I have three fathers, one is
in the blood, and two of them is my soul fathers,
or spiritual fathers. One my father, and she the one who I
memorized, Quran with him, and Sheik rosari
after that. Actually, most my recitation is is going to almost
to a chef, for sure, because actually, I correct my recitation
by listening him. Cannot I see us? I used, yeah, I used to to put my
head forward. And while I'm going and walking, I listen and then try
to read at the same time with him,
to find the complete, the complete, and this really helps me
a lot to to improve my recitation. Alhamdulillah. This is why our
learning, but always we we need to learn more and more whenever, like
I don't say that now, unless I'm perfect, still, I need to learn
more and more. As you know that Inami Shepherd, I said, he said
that every cup, every cup, if you feel it, I put water, it will be
full with water, orange juice, or whatever. Except the the cup of
knowledge, the more you put knowledge, you feel that it's
empty. More and more. It means, it shows you when you learn something
new, it means you don't know it before, right?
So the knowledge is the only thing that never been
filled up now that always needs more. Oh, yeah,
so kind of
Yeah.
So would you? Would you recite for us so we can hear your recitation?
Okay, okay, no problem. If I want to, I will. I will read one Fatiha
only, and you tell me who is the reciter, reading like this. After
that, I will recite my own recitation.
I'm sorry already I told you about himself. Now I will, I will Give
you someone else.
Money.
Rahim,
I definitely I've heard this particular recitation, but I don't
know who this is off the top of my head, okay, I will help you.
Uh, Ramadi. This is a fetch house,
hey. But honestly, I haven't listened to Ramadi recite social
plastic hat in a very long time, but I was sounds like Ramadi
recitation. That's a panel.
Beautiful. Yeah,
okay, should I read now or recite or later? No, that would be
amazing. No, okay,
similar here,
Be
him a
The
Woman You
a Whatever.
In
am
in.
Your recitation is very different from other styles, like it's very
much your own style. How did you build your own style. Where did
you learn how to recite this way?
Alhamdulillah, as I told you, actually, after a long time trying
to imitate so many different reciters, then after that,
automatically, Alhamdulillah, by Allah, I found myself I have my
way, and especially actually, when I was teaching before this, I used
to to like the way of Taran gnome. And I used to do this taranno like
I used to do it long time ago. But after that, I found, if I want to
teach people, this is very hard way to for them, to teach them,
and especially after I come to Malaysia and non Arab speakers.
So yeah, this make me have to read, at least. I have to focus
more on
the and the more to be clear, yes, and sometimes in sometimes this,
what I do with my students is because if I advise them to listen
to sorry, masha Allah Tabarak Allah, sometimes he read maybe two
lines, which it takes maybe two minutes in one breath, yeah,
that matters, right? And so long breath. Masha Allah tabarakallah,
it's not easy for everyone to to go with him, especially with
complete, that completeness.
So I found myself, I have to to find another way to my students,
so I make it easy for them. So I found the best way is the one that
we listen to is me every time. Oh, yeah. So I start to record for
them, whatever we learn, any Surah, I teach them how to recite
it properly with How come everything. Then I do the
recording. Then I share with them the recording. So I try to find
the easy walk of for them, even it's not in the Musa, because, as
we know what up is, ishti had Alama. So we can, we can find the
World Cup that helps them to recite and to complete the ayah
with a the correct meaning, and they can read it with enough red.
Yeah. So maybe this make me, and I think everyone who starts with
imitation after that, he will create his own way of recitation.
I think even your recitation, Masha, like so beautiful and it's
unique. It's for you, like it's a special for
Sheikha. Mariam, the special recitation,
no, Sheikha here, but I will say that one chef who lives.
To my recitation. One time he told me, you know, you have very harsh
recitation, like it's very harsh. And I told him, You know, I always
listen to hustle, boss, admin, shall we? You know, I listen. I'm
trying to imitate them. But my voice is not manly. You know, I
don't have a man's voice on my the I'm trying to imitate their
intensity, but I can't. So you're you as a woman who from pasori,
this is how you have been, you know, studying.
Were you, you know, surrounded by women who were also reciting. You
heard other women's recitation. How was it in Algeria and now in
Malaysia, with women and recitation? How? How have you
found that to be
okay? Actually? How many love this one?
Always these things or these questions about when we we make it
it's special for female or women, and we ask questions about this,
if we understand our religion,
the real and the correct understanding this just will make
you so happy with this religion panel. It's so proud with Islam.
Yes,
the more, the more you learn,
the more you learn about about how Islam treat the woman. Yes, you
may love Islam. More and more people, they are scared because
they don't understand Quran properly, because they don't
understand Islam properly. And even in our
if we see in most of our Muslim countries,
they have this wrong understanding of Islam. It's a culture more than
what Islam said Yes, more what the prophets are seldom taught us.
More than how was the prophets are seldom treating the the ladies.
Did he ask not to, not to read Quran, not to recite Quran, or any
one of the other ladies. There is no Hadith telling them don't read
Quran, or the results for unlovely. I cannot find any Hadith
telling this. I choose to be the teacher of most if I don't say of
the Sahaba, she was the the guider, the moshida, the teaching
them whatever they need. They go try Allah as the scholar of the
ladies and so many scholars,
70 Sheikha, 77 zero shekha, you learn from them. And if you go to
so many books when they tell about the ladies, scholars, subhanAllah,
how are they? Mashallah, about Allah. Just now, is the culture
going more than our religion so but Alhamdulillah, I'm really so
grateful that I raised in the culture that it's not against the
women in everything, everything is forbidden for women. It was maybe
in one previously, a bit like hard for the ladies to do some things.
But alhamdulillah, in my time, you can go to study when you can study
overseas, Alhamdulillah. And of course, you can learn for an and
you can even participate in the competition. And Alhamdulillah, I,
I had participates in in the competition in Algeria competition
of Quran, and we have so many shoes. We met them either in
Algeria or in Malaysia. Two years ago, exactly, I was with Chef al
masa Rawi here in Malaysia, and we spent one week with him, and it's
really was amazing. And he was listening to us and correcting us
and supporting those who recite properly. So, Alhamdulillah, this
doesn't make it. No, there is no difference, because Quran was
revealed to the Prophet, to all the people, Allah, all of Yeah,
men and women. So if I am a lady, I cannot spend my life without
reciting Quran. And if Allah, subhana Taala grant me and grant
you to learn Quran, grant so many ladies, Alhamdulillah, to be in
this field. Why we don't share the khair? Why we don't share we are
not singing Alhamdulillah, we are reading the Quran. And the Prophet
used to say, always try to beautify your try to make your
recitation beautiful as much as you can. Or Swati make your voices
beautiful with the recitation of Quran and with with good way of
the recitation. So alhamdulillah Yani for this and and when I come
to Malaysia, same thing happened. I found that here they have so
many party at Masha Allah, and they are always the the
international competition of Quran.
But maybe sometimes the folks, those who participate in the
competition, they focus more in the Taran norm. And this way,
which is with my comment and i.
I changed my mind after, after actually searching a lot about
this, but I found my I am more comfortable to go for the clear
recitation as much as can touch the heart. Yes, and I'm sure, I'm
sure even my dear sister Mariam,
sometimes, some they don't have beautiful voices, but when they
recite or earn and you listen to them, you really love the
recitation, and you feel that it's very touchy, yeah, even they don't
have a beautiful voice, right? I don't know. I have some students
like they are, like Subhan students and non Arabs, non native
Arabic. And when they learn to do and when they read it. Sometimes,
when I hear some of them, I really feel so nice. I feel SubhanAllah.
It's how it's touching the heart, even they cannot maybe make it
more beautiful, but still, it's it's touching SubhanAllah.
It's so beautiful here that you grew up in a culture that
supported women resign in Quran when you see other women, and it's
part of the culture, it's normal. A lot of people do this. It
encourages you to feel like I can do it too. I have examples of so
many women I know who do it. Subhanallah is powerful to see the
example. And now you're teaching and you're teaching women and
you're teaching kids, what? How is your Quranic teaching going
Elijah, if I, if I want to remember when I started teaching
Quran actually, it was since I was in the high school, whatever I
learned, even it was I was not perfect in my recitation that
time, but
I used to love to teach the kids, so I usually, especially in the
summer holiday, which is so long, three months.
So I just go to the masjid and I open it early in the morning, 6am
and the kids start coming. So I used to teach the kids early in
the morning and trying to teach them the how do they behave in the
masjid? Going inside the masjid is sitting inside, how to how they
should do make, helping them to memorize the Quran and all the
Afghan of morning, and how I still can remember the sound, the voice,
when they are reading, and I enjoy it when they are reading. I
remember I used to say and they have to imitate like, let's say
Asmaa.
So they, they, they have to do something like this. They have to
follow. But I found in in after two weeks only, I found them I
start just to say the word I asked them to remember, to to follow.
They continue Masha Allah. They memorize the whole one like which
was long. Ah, account of morning, but they memorize it, subhanAllah
in just vital in everyday. I love that lesson. You are going so
early, and you are going, there you are opening the masjid, and
your teaching Subhanallah, so, Alhamdulillah, yeah,
Alhamdulillah, it was really my, my, my beautiful times I used to
spend, but, and I'll always, I think
the barakah of teaching Quran, it is the one that following me
wherever I am. I can say that
my life would not be like this if the Quran is not in my life,
it is.
I can just say that my oxygen in this life is Quran. It's no Quran.
I don't know how to live at all Alhamdulillah,
may Allah accept from us every word, every
every little, everything we teach people inshaAllah and make it with
a full class and let it come free us, everyone you love you.
Yeah, so my starting was on the term, and
after I graduated from university, what happened is, I remember that
I tried to continue my studies to do masters in Algeria,
but Subhanallah in Algeria, it's too hard to get your Masters,
because they choose, maybe through 1000 participants, they choose
only 10.
Then, then it was too hard and two of them, maybe those who are
already the the best students. The rest, the rest is not really
because of their studying, but because of something else.
So So I participate, and I remember I answer a very good and
I was so sure that, Inshallah, I will be one of those.
But the thing what happened is a.
I remember the year before me, they they choose 20. In my year,
they choose 10, and I was in number I think 12. They put me in
number 12.
It means they took only 10. And I Yeah, but to see always there is a
hekma. There is a hekma behind everything happened. I actually,
when I heard this, I was not upset, because
exactly it was the time that my Sheik announced that he will start
the first ijaza for girls before this was only memorization, but it
was the first chance to do is and the last. So, how the first?
Yeah, so he choose 20 through maybe 200 girls, or memorizing
Quran in the masjid at the same time, you choose us, 20 only of
us. And I was one of them. Then I said, masters can come anytime,
but this is it will never, ever replace. It is the chance that I
will not maybe find this opportunity another time. And
indeed, it was the first and the last And Alhamdulillah, it was
maybe the best days in my life that we have to go every day and
to recite with the different ways
of the narration of wash and narration of worship is the most
difficult, as you know, yeah. So once you master the way it wash,
the rest will be very easy, and we have to memorize the poem of
abdurahulah Asmaa. This poem is 286
lines. We have to memorize it, and we have to memorize Al Jazeera,
which is almost 80 lines
Muhammad. Everyday, we have to to learn a part of Quran for one
quarter of Hazel, plus five of the first poem, five from the the
other poem. And actually, my shift way of memorization, it's amazing
and unique. And to Masha Allah, Subhana Allah, I think more than
2000
those who are already memorized the Quran under his hands with
this way, mashaAllah, Alhamdulillah, we are trying to
share this, to share this way of memorization, which is helping a
lot in revision. Most of people, they, they, they struggle with
revision more, right? Yeah, as you memorize, then the problem is in
revision, this was very helpful. Then, Alhamdulillah, we finished
the ijaza in seven months. The whole Quran, of course,
memorization, because one of his condition, you cannot have the
ijaza with reciting from the most happy have to memorize and every
and all this, plus the two poem you have to read it for him
without any mistake. Then, Alhamdulillah, it was I said, I
don't care about masters. This is my master and PhD and everything.
It was here. Then after that, subhanAllah gave me the chance to
teach in the high school, and I love the that generation of the
teenagers. I love to deal with them. I feel that they are so
close to me.
I feel, how do they they have a pure hearts, but the people, maybe
they don't understand them very well, and sometimes the parents,
the parents, they are doing a big mistake when they don't know how
to deal with them in this age,
just shouting on them or You have to do
to make them as friends, and you will have everything from them.
They are really beautiful hearts. I still remember so many of them,
mashaAllah on that years that I taught them, I was teaching
Islamic studies, but I always try to make my class is to send them a
message, message that they can do and make them love at Islam more
than to feel that it's something so hard to do and make it easy for
them so they love it, and they try to to do, to apply in their life.
Alhamdulillah. Still remember so many of them. They were the hijab,
so many of them, they start to pray. So many of them, they stop
smoking. But just have to be very close to them and try to be,
try to to to understand, to understand very well. That's all
they are doing. So many mistakes. But they need always.
Is some guidance, and they will follow on that agency. They are,
yeah,
then, then after that, I came to Malaysia, have the language to
make opportunity to do my masters in Malaysia, in International
Islamic University.
And my start was, maybe I can share this with
one of the ladies. She was a celebrity, and she was the
she was actually one of the best sisters I can I can say in in
Malaysia, mashallah, that time
she make Hijrah. Her name is wardina, Safia.
Wardina used to come to send her two daughters to me,
SubhanAllah. After that, what happened is,
I don't know if that's my energy and mashallah, the good thing that
every year, once they participate in,
participate in competition of Quran, masha Allah, they Got
always the first places in every Masha,
yeah.
Subhanallah, and then really one of them. She was like, if you hear
her recitation, is almost like mine, exactly the whole and I want
to share with you my dear sister Maria, what happened once
the mother when she wants them,
uh, I don't know if they can hear me, because it looks they said
that
now you broke up for a bit. Bahamut, you're back.
Okay? Yeah, there. I remember when she wants to punish them. One day
she was with me, and she told them, Okay, listen no more Quran
class is
the punishment. The mother was angry about something. Then I
still remember this Azra,
she was crying, crying like the tears so much
when she told her that no Quran class. On that moment, I felt how
much they love Quran. When the kids grow with loving Quran like
this, if they cry because they don't have any more class of
Quran, it means what it means the Quran is is spinning up their
hearts. Masha, Allah,
what we but it also means that they have amazing teacher who
helps them connect to the Quran. It also means that
from one of us, inshallah. But then once she said, Okay, hello,
okay, inshaAllah, we continue, but don't do this. Yeah, I promise. I
promise, Mommy, I will not do this again. And she also have this pan
Allah, yeah, so the start, actually was,
she was the first one I taught in Malaysia. But after that,
Alhamdulillah, I start to teach more and more. And actually, the
more I teach, I can find the weakness that they have in the
recitation or memorization. But by the time, I don't know how, how to
thank Allah. I'm so grateful to Allah, but I really found so many
beautiful sisters here, but they are really much Allah
tabarakallah, I can feel. I can I can touch the love of Quran and
and how do they really trying their best to learn, trying their
best to to to to improve mashallah, to Barak Allah
Yani, when you find that they have some weakness, in some horrible
health, or like dying, and had so hard for them. But because
you love Quran, you just want to continue whatever is happening.
Yes, don't give up at all. Yes. And I want everyone here listen to
us, if they can open the most half yes and see the ayat. Just to tell
you about an ayat, if they once, they feel that they give up and
they cannot learn, and it's so hard for them to read for ant, so
hard for them to to to improve their recitation. Just.
Go to Surat.
Surat Sura, number 54,
and page number you go to if they go to page number 529529,
here is the good tidings from Allah subhanahu wa, not from me,
not even from the Prophet. It's from Allah.
When he said, I number
17,
when Allah said, Abu Dhabi, let him in a shaykh on your rajim,
whatever do you sell? A
has made the Quran easy. So isn't there someone who will
remember, who will who? I don't know a great translation,
yeah, who will remember, recite, memorize, repeat, until he
memorize all this. Mudeker is from musdecker, which is from vikir,
from remembering,
or remembrance. But the amazing thing is, what this ayah telling
you that Allah indeed make Quran easy. Don't say it's too hard for
me. Whatever is your relational Quran is something good. Whatever
you want from Quran, it will be a lot of, a lot of,
a lot of Hassan, a lot of rewards. We cannot imagine how much this
the other thing, what is it? So the Mariam go to a number
2222
is
again,
again for the second time he repeated. Allah repeated
something. Let's say I'm repeating something now so many times. It's
not to emphasize about this thing.
If we go to the next page,
530,
you will find a number 3232
is walakadi Eternal. Quran decripe, again, the same ayah with
the same words
Allah mention it again,
again, Ayan. Number 40, walakadi, Serna, Quran Deki, you say, my, I
don't know how many times remember Allah telling you if you say to if
you, if you tell me today, sorry, you cannot. I find it so hard for
me, I will tell you. Okay. No, Allah, make it easy for you.
Bommy will say the same thing. Go to the next ayah. We find another
ayat. It's four ayat in one surah telling you the same thing. Don't
give up. Whatever you find in your way.
Just don't give up.
Let's say you are struggling, struggling to recite. You have a
problem in some Haru.
Does that mean that Allah doesn't like you?
Allah, allow them, as long you choose
your path to be with Quran. It means Allah guide you to be in
this way. This is number one. Number two
is
whatever. Whatever
is your relation with Quran.
There is a choir, there is a goodness.
Remember that any Aya you read it, any any, any Kalima, any word you
read it from Quran, you will get the Hassan right. And then the
rewards this, not me who said this, but the prophets of Allah,
yes, he said,
Those
who
recite Quran properly, and the master reciting uncle and memorize
it, and again, they have to apply it in their life, not just
memorization and recitation and no relation with the life those like
the level. It's like the the angels suffer is the angels? Will
there be a Quran?
Well, yeah, taufi, we and those who read,
but they find it so hard to pronounce, so hard to pronounce
the iron and the hair and the proper word. And don't worry, the
professor didn't give you the good tidings he he told us a.
Double, double, double rewards. And we don't know how big is
rewards from Allah. Allah will give you double one because you
are trying your best one, because you are reciting our Quran the
third, the third, good tidings
for those who couldn't find the time for Quran.
I don't think that anyone of us not in need or the hassanate. Yes,
we all need it.
We are all we all very sinful. We have so many mistakes we are
doing, and we are all in need for the Hassan. Yes. So when the
Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam tell you
Quran
Allah,
kuleharfin, Hassan
has a value once you read Quran, so any health you get
one Hassan. And this hasana becomes 1010.
Has An
then he mentioned an example. And he said, Apollo, eleph, Lam Nim
half, well, I can Apollo Ellis, half one lemon, half one lemon,
half. I don't know. I want to share with you something. I don't
know. If you can see the table, no, the board, no. Okay, let me,
let me try. I hope you can. I don't know, how is the writing? I
just want to share something I feel that is very important too.
Yes,
this is thing that we get a lesson. Is that
very short one?
Let's try. I don't know. How is Is it clear or No,
I don't see anything yet. I
but I'm not sure is the writing is the way that you can read, or it's
first backwards, but I think I think we're
okay. Let me try.
Aha. How about now? Yes,
okay, just put for a while like this. I cannot see, actually, but
you can see. So if you can see, just like this, is clear. Aha,
okay, so the Prophet saw them said, Nim, have health. It means
what half in Arabic, it means later. But alephone, this is Alif
half and lamb is half and meme is half clear.
It means what it means. If he said that every half we have done
hasana, it means this one should be, how many hasana should be 10,
and this 110
and this one should be 10. But actually, if we understand it more
deeply, we will find this. Elif. Elif, when you pronounce it, it is
like this. The spelling is like this. Elif, how many letters here?
Three,
three letters. It means at least 30. Hassan.
How about lamb? Lamb? If you read this properly with properties,
read, you will have lamb
six. Haraka here, six. It's like one elephant, like this, one
Hanukkah. It's with one half is this one. It's like I said, six
times. So here it means it becomes six half each half of God, how
many? 60
and the meme originally, it's like this, plus the Med, the med here
me, plus this six year,
six year 60 plus this 110 plus this one is 10 plus. Here we got
the usually we say it's too haraka, so at least it will be 20.
This is only when you read any flem. A
all this famine
is only when it's one word you read it from
Quran Allahu,
Akbar, Allahu, Akbar, that is such mercy. That is such mercy. Who can
be more merciful than Allah, even when he says that he has made the
Quran easy, and we say it's so difficult, and there's so much in
the journey. But even with
Subhan.
Allah. Ease comes in so many different forms. And look at how
easy he has made all of this Azure for us for just a meme, Allahu
Akbar,
imagine. And at the end we say, we have no time for Quran.
No life with Quran is it's not a life as a Muslim. As a Muslim, you
have all this gift, Yani, it's like someone as you come I will
give you $30
for for every word you say,
not every word, it's every half.
Have a letter, a letter, and when you read it with this reader, the
proper judge. Read it will be more, more and more when you know
that this medic six and this month is for it means it's more and
more, even the that sometimes we just skip it this Unna, it means
you skip so many Hassan, so many rewards. And maybe we say, How is
this like? Like the currency, $1 it's not the same. Like, wondering
it of Malaysian, not like one junay, not like one dinner, it's
not the same, right? But at the end, like, say, 111, same for the
reward the hasana. We don't know how much is this hasana Big, and
I'm sure that it will be more and more when we have more,
the more ikhlas,
the more Hassan, yes, and this teach us that
just open your must have and don't leave it. If you have your most
your Quran in your house,
and you leave it there, if you if you leave it for one year until
Ramadan comes, then you open remember that Quran doesn't need
you at all. Al Quran doesn't need us. If you leave it for years and
years, if it's food with dust, but we need Al Quran, yeah, and I'm
sure everyone whatever I said,
I will have anxiety. We just go and open the most help. Open your
hand and read any ayat you will feel how much is, is
is like a blessing, a mercy to your heart and to avoid whatever
you are facing. So this is the third advice, the fourth advice,
I'm not sure if the time that I think is will be over. And the
fourth advice is,
Inshallah, I'm trying to come, if I come and visit you in in UK.
Then, then maybe you have in your pocket in your hands, 286
$86
and I ask you, I am your wisdom.
Can I ask you? Can you? Can you, can you give me only $1 please?
Would you give me that,
depending on my
you know? Yeah,
okay. So actually, when I feel that my students, sometimes they
they feel
like they cannot come or they have something else. Just remind them
by this,
if I ask you to give me $1 or maximum $2
I don't think that you will say no for everyone, for anyone, anyone
ask you. But if that one who asked you some money a lot, for sure,
you will give it more and more. Not only $2 you can give it all
maybe, right, it's like it's nothing. If I compare with you,
why I'm telling this and why I choose this number. This is the
number of the hours that we have during the week. We have 286 hours
every day. We have 24 hours. But we cannot find one hour for Quran,
isn't it? Shame for us one hour through all the week you cannot
find through all these hours you have. You find time for for for
for your work, for your study, for your fun, time for food, for for
everything, for sleeping, for watching, for Facebook, for
Instagram, but when it comes to Quran, we find it so hard. How
come? How come you don't give a time for Quran and the proper
time? Why? Always? When we have I say, okay, when I finish
everything, I do everything, then I will have time for Quran.
And actually,
this previous days, I tried with the systems to read only five
pages during the day,
five pages at the beginning, we say five pages, and I finished so
much. But when we try together five pages after every prayer, I.
See it for five minutes only maximum. I start, I try to read
very slow, slow recitation with all the Tajweed, with all the it
doesn't take more than five minutes.
Means if you do every every
five minutes, it's not $5 actually five minutes. If we compare, it's
like five cents, five cent. You cannot give five cents.
It's for ourselves, for ourselves.
When I was in high school and I started to try to read the Quran,
I chose five pages. I said, I'm going to try to read five pages a
day, and I'm not Arab and I didn't really know how to read the Quran
and my I didn't know to read at all. It would take me two hours to
read five pages. Now, reading five pages is so fast because,
hey, every single day I would read it, but Subhanallah first you
think, oh, it's going to take me forever. But if I decided I will
never do it now, how many decades later, I will still not be able to
read five pages. But like you're saying, if you do it every day,
even if it's just start with one page, start with half a page, it
does and just Subhanallah, yes, you're right. Mashallah, Barak,
Allah, yeah, you see the start. Maybe it's a bit hard, but when
now maybe it's our work to do for them, to help people, like I like,
when maybe you put some Ayat for to help them, or to remind them to
recite it, because so many precious Masha, Allah, so many
sisters, they are trying to do this just for the others. We just
want them tiny any we don't, we don't want anything. Just we don't
want we. We want them just to love Quran and to feel that Quran is
easy, yes, and easy to find. And once you put it in your life, in
your day, you're just bringing such a blessing and such a big
mercy to your life. It's something for ourselves. It's not for Allah.
Allah doesn't need our Hassan. We need this Hanson, especially
nowadays. So Hannah, yeah, it's, it's easy. Just,
yes, this is just easy, and, and, and some of them, I remember, they
found it so hard for them, maybe to go to the class before this.
Remember that every step, man, sila, kapara, Panya, for whoever
take a path to seek knowledge. And what if this knowledge is a Quran
or Kareem? Say hello, be Hela Jannah. Make easy for a pass, not
in Akira or not in dunya, in to Jannah. Yani, the way you are
going to seek knowledge, you are taking another way up to Jannah
with this Yani. Yani, the Haslet is going up and and more and more
through your way. I found some of them. They it's so hard for you to
go to class a traffic jam. It's so long and petrol and drive and
maybe taxi, and I don't know it's for yourself. And now, masha
Allah, it's even, even more easier. You are staying at your
home, and you can learn and you can study. You have no no excuse
at all with a touch like this, with a click to find the time
that's all Yeah, to find the time for Yeah, you have no excuse to
say to Allah, I don't have time. I cannot go. I don't have a
transportation. I don't have this. I don't have this.
Yeah, you teach online. Can people study with you online?
Inshallah, we will actually this period I was continue my, I
continue my my classes with my sister, those who used to come to
me and we continue online, Alhamdulillah and mashallah during
the MCO. They can memorize a lot. All of them, annihilation. All of
them, when they start, they start for
they cannot read Yani. Some of them, they don't know even the
harlots. Some of them, they are reverts, reverter, reversal. They
have no idea about the Arabic Haru now, Masha, Allah, some of them,
they already memorize hezbul Allah and some ayat from Suratul
Baqarah, they can't recite properly. And memorization, Gyani,
Subhanallah, Subhanallah, when I see them reciting, I really feel,
feel how Allah is great. And in once, once you show Allah that you
want to do something, Allah will help on Sada, Allah,
who is honest and sincere with Allah, love will be the same with
you. Allah will will grant you more ease, SubhanAllah. So just
start, and actually I have the different
different ages that.
I try to teach them, all of them,
each group. Maybe it makes me so grateful to Allah at the same
time. And I feel how, how Allah spent. Allah always choose some
people, Yani, when Yani, yaniya, when, when you went to shift to
study, and you take all this way, Danny, this is it means Allah
choose you as Maryam, to go there and to be one of the Knowledge
Seekers for his for his sake, Subhanahu watana, because he knows
that you are person inshaAllah that you will share the khair,
maybe hand grids they are learning that after that they never shared.
But Allah knows that this Maya and her heart deserves this. And you
go back to the community that is not even Muslim community, and
Alhamdulillah, Allah, make it easy for you and guide you to guide
other people, maybe 1000s of people, when they hear stuff from
you, and they learn it, and they love it, and maybe they come back
to to Quran, and they love it more, and religion, and all this
Alhamdulillah. So we have it mean. It means we have, we have, as a
teachers, we are so grateful to Allah. And when we see this, those
who really wants to learn, and they learn Alhamdulillah, and they
reach this level, I say, just SubhanAllah. I still remember one
of them, masha Allah. She's super, super busy lady. But Subhan Allah,
when she came to me, she said, I I just know how to read only the
SRI ol three
business in all her life, maybe she's above 50s,
but mashallah now, She memorized hezbil Allah from Allah until
innus, some Ariat from Al Baqarah, surat al Bahman and Surat Al
wakaha and Surat ya Singh and Surat Al and The other one already
memorized the Suratul Kahf and memorize another three Jozo and
when, when, when I when I test them and, and sometimes this is
very hard test I make for them, like I ask just to any air, and ya
Allah tell me which surah and ya allah continue. And still they can
answer, mashaAllah, Barak Allah, yes, sometimes they feel stressed,
fresh but, but Alhamdulillah, after that, I think Subhanallah,
yes, they can. They can leave this. They can have this level,
masha Allah, subhana, Allah. So alhamdulillah, not all of them,
you see the thing, what happened
that not all they will continue the journey, only the chosen, only
the chosen ones. Not all, even they say at the beginning, I will
of Quran want to live. But always you will find so many tests,
so many Yani, so many things. Just try to make it. So many fitness
make you try to continue, but you cannot. Then you stop.
Once you stop class, if you don't have a, really a class of Gemma,
yeah, doing together, it will be so hard for you to continue. The
Gemara, really, it helps the Halacha. It's really helps to
continue always, always, there is motivation. Always, there is a
remembrance. This is a Majlis of Nikhil, Majlis of Quran together,
sisterhood in Islam, in Quran Yani. The thing that they that
gather us is Al Quran Karim. What? What? What is better than a Quran?
Karim, Alhamdulillah, so not all of them, some of them, masha
Allah, yes, those who continue whatever, whatever happening to
them. They have families. They have kids. They have classes to
send their kids. They have so many. They have work, but, but
when it's time of Quran, they remember from $286
it's $1 or $2 for Quran. It's two hours for N I shouldn't skip it,
whatever, until one of them, she used to say, This is my spa. I'm
waiting for my spa. These two hours for me is three spa. I
recharge my my my hearts, my ima, so I can continue all the the week
with this energy of
that's so powerful, just like Allah knowing the Quran, reciting
it, understanding, reading the translation, if you don't
understand it, even if it's just every day for five minutes,
SubhanAllah. It is transformational. It just changes
your life. And how can people teach you shefa? Do you have so
your Instagram is your name, which is Z, a, y, N, A, B, T, A, L, H,
A, so they can look up Zainab
and they can inshallah.
Have I've heard your your recitations and your recordings.
Mashallah, how can people take classes with you? Do they just
contact you on Instagram?
Yeah. Inshallah. Inshallah, we will. Inshallah, I hope that for
the next year will be a year of Quran for so many people, and it
should be a good start with Al Quran. Al Kareem.
Inshallah, I'm planning to do a new session for Tajweed. And at
the same time, we thinking to do
as we tried last, Ramadan, not this Ramadan, Ramadan before the
topics of Quran. So we go through the whole Quran, from Al Fatiha
until and NES to get an idea about every Surah, what talks about. And
I think this would be good as it's not tafsir, but it just like give
you an idea about the surah and the remain topics in the Surah,
and maybe the lessons from the Surah, this maybe can lead you to
to go to to the next step, which is you go deeply in Quran.
Because, as we know,
some people, maybe they find, maybe they say that recitation is
not important to learn. Well, however I read, it's okay. Some of
them, and you, they feel maybe that just okay. I need just maybe
to read the translation. It's enough for me. Okay, listen,
whatever is about Quran. It's good for us to do. But what I want to
say that
you should, you should improve your recitation. Why? Because, if
the recitation or the the corrected read is not important,
Allah will not say
what? And to
recite it, and you don't read it like like any any anything else.
Many of the prophets are seldom. He was in community of Arab people
and Arab language, Arabic language. But the there is a
difference between the way that you recite our Kari, much in
Arabic language, and the normal Arabic that we use when you read
any hadith is different when you read Yani, the recitation of the
words of Allah have to be special, as it was revealed to the Prophet,
sallAllahu, alayhi wasal. So we have to improve. We have to try
our best to improve it. If you can improve it without learning the
rules of tajivi will be perfect. But nowadays it's so hard for you
have to go through this way. Maybe the only thing is how, how they
teach you,
how they teach you the Tajweed. This is for me when I teach Arabs,
it's not when I teach non Arabs. I have to make it easy for them. And
Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah, that I found this way that I'm using
with my method, with my with my students, and it helps them a lot,
because I don't focus in the terms of the Tajweed as it's easy to
head from. But I I focus more in how. How can I make you one day
recite properly, even after that? Yes, you can know that I have met
here. I have I have this, but
at least even the mahash and let's make it easy for people when we
make it complicated, that even the way that we learn that time is
complicated.
We have 10 you have to
memorize smart why you make the non Arabs to memorize these words,
but struggle with it. I
totally no need to make them struggle. I pity them, if they can
take you and recite it properly, this is the meaning. So how so
true.
I want to sit here and listen to you all day long. Subhanallah, you
have made me feel so passionate about Quran and about wanting to
read it all the time, and may Allah bless you. I think you have
rekindled the fire for so many in our hearts, because we just
SubhanAllah. We don't have time left. Sheikha, can you please end
for us by reciting more verses? I know all of us want to hear your
recitation again.
Okay? But I love picking
what you did.
Okay, just open the most half whatever the AI really
will be less.
Is
Me,
Moon
In a
In LA,
please
don't
stop please keep going for like over more and more. Just
so beautiful.
May Allah bless you, and we
Quran, make the Quran a witness for you in the Hereafter, on the
day of judgment, and in this life, you have to fill your life. Baraka
through the Quran. Shekha. Jezek halakharan, I really can't thank
you. I know so many of us. All we want to do right now is just go to
the must have. All of us just want to open the Quran and go read it
because of you. Masha, Allah, barakah,
is
there anything you would love?
Sorry, go ahead.
Actually, no, at the end, I really want to thank you. May Allah,
bless you. Inshallah, for for this,
this opportunity to talk to people, and may Allah, make this
beneficial for everybody who listen to us. Inshallah,
maybe the last thing is
make this New Year. Make it a year of Quran. Let's make it the year
of Quran. If you read one page after every prayer. I try. I hope
I can do this on Instagram, but I'm scared that people will borrow
from me, listen to me too much or match me too much every day five
times. I think it will be boring
and wrong.
Then can you imagine, like, if everybody read only one page after
every prayer, and if you want to, maybe, if you find it hard for
you, you can follow any, any reciter but better recitals, those
who have correct recitation,
if you read five pages per day, Inshallah, you will have one
khacham from Al Fatiha until Anas in four months, only four months,
you will finish the whole Quran, and you will be from Al halu Al
mutahilu, the one that the Prophet Sallam praise the person.
Who is traveling, and hello mustache traveling, and come back
and in again travel, but not the normal travel, but is the travel
through Quran, the journey through Quran, Junior of khatam, starting,
Al Fatiha, finish. And then when you say
Minaj Nati, one,
Miss mill,
finish from the last, go back again, start another journey with
Quran. Our life is super, super short, and the time is running,
running, and we don't know anytime the death can come and take us,
but,
but the best thing is to live with Quran.
Trust me, life with Quran is totally different. Life Wallahi,
the doors that will be open for you. You cannot imagine the
higher, the goodness that will come to you in your life. Whatever
I say, you cannot believe until you leave it until you feel it.
And I'm sure that everybody has connection to Quran after, before,
after he was lost once he found Al Quran in his way,
he found everything. You will find everything in life. I had so many
stories that that I cannot share, actually, no no time, but each one
teach me how Allah, no, it's so many, so many like each one,
teaching me, how Allah protecting me, how Allah making, making my
opening the doors, after all the doors is closed, I'm sure that it
will open for me, just because of the Quran,
the barakah of the words of Allah. I spend so many times in my
travel, in my travel, always, there are some tests before I
travel to every time, everywhere. And I actually I like to travel
only when there is something good purpose, either I teach or I
learn. Mostly this is my my, my all my troubles to to meet so many
countries, and what I feel in the flight, it's, it's always very
emotional, and sometimes I'm just crying all the way just to to
praise Allah for the name of Quran, because if, if not Quran,
trust me, those who has no Quran in their life, they lost a lot.
Once you put Quran in your life, you will find everything. How come
you will find Allah talking to you everyday. If we receive any
message on WhatsApp or any or Instagram or we will be so excited
to see who write this,
this, this letter, and what they want to say in this message. But
when the message is very short. Just say to you, for example,
assalamu Alaihi. We don't care about it. But when you find it's a
long message, and someone is telling you a lot, you want to
read it and to know, why? What? What did he write? Why? Sure he
wants something. How about Allah subhanahu wa taala? Send you this
message, which is 600 pages.
This 600 pages is for us. It's just to make a light in your life,
a light in your path, in dunya and the grave and in the north is
maybe this
May Allah make us all of Quran.
