Maryam Amir – Pray for others instead of judging them

I wasn't sure if Islam is the truth.
I doubted whether or not I wanted to
be Muslim,
and I questioned
God.
But Allah blessed me with going to Mecca,
reading the translation of the Quran, and falling
in love with Islam. And then all I
wanted to do was learn about who he
is and how I can get to know
him.
I was so honored to memorize the Quran
and have a degree through Al Azhar University
in Islamic studies and spent the last 17
years researching Islam and publishing articles
on contemporary
and working with scholars and teaching Islam.
So many people used to judge me and
say things about me, and I'm so humbled
and grateful
that those same people now come to me,
and they ask me questions
about Islam.
It's an honor,
but I wanted to share this with you
because I've seen a lot of people, especially
on TikTok, making comments to other people's videos,
like, oh, you might as well just take
off your hijab, or you're gonna go to
*.
Come on. Instead of investing so much time
pushing people
who are struggling,
or maybe they're in a part of their
journey.
And Allah sees that,
and he appreciates their effort despite their situation.
Instead of putting so much effort in making
them feel like they're not worthy
of God,
invest.
Invest that time and that energy
in praying for them. Say that Allah makes
them
one day
your teacher.
And maybe one day because of your du'a,
that person might be the believer you go
to,
to ask questions
about how to get closer to God.
