In Ramadan, the daughter of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon
him, passed away, and I want you to think about what it was like
for him, sallAllahu, alayhi wa sallam, to witness that ayid, soon
after her passing, Prophet, saw them, had gone to the Battle of
Badr the companions went with him. Asmaa and rodilou anhu did not.
And the reason why was because he stayed behind to take care of the
daughter of the Prophet peace be upon his wife, rokaya Radi Allahu
anha, the Companions came back when the Prophet saw them, came
back with this great news that they had actually won the Battle
of Badr. Imagine how the Prophet saw them must have felt to see
that his daughter had passed and to go to visit her grave instead
of visiting her. Imagine what it was like for Ahmed Radi Allahu
Anhu to lose his wife, that Ramadan,
and then to witness Saeed, the both of them, sallAllahu, alayhi,
wa sallam. And roll the Allahu anhu, without that beloved person
to them. Roll the olahu anha. Right now we are witnessing whores
that we cannot fathom, the genocide in rasa, the horrific
oppression in Sudan. There's so many parts of this ummah and the
vulnerable suffering everywhere. And many of us ask, How can we
celebrate aid? How can we witness aid? And so many of you today or
tonight are so lonely already. You're just lonely. And I want us
to remember the Prophet Muhammad. Peace be upon him. There's a
reason the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam went through the
particular hardships and difficulties that he did. Peace be
upon him.
You are never alone in the way that you feel. The Prophet saw
them went through it too. So this Saeed, remember you are not alone.
This Ummah is not alone. We have Allah. We have the angels who are
ordered to pray for us constantly, and whether or not you feel it, we
have an ummah of people who desperately, with all of our
fervor and from the depths of our hearts, care about each other. You
may not feel that care on a personal level right now in your
life, but I hope that you know that there are people like me and
like so many others who are praying specifically for you.
Celebration of aid does not have to look like parties.
Ayed is a moment of thanks and appreciation to Allah. Spano Tada,
a.
