Maryam Amir – How she found Islam

Someone I know, and she converted to Islam because she was at a bar,

and at the bar there were these men that were very respectful to

her, and they were different from the other men. And so she asked

them, like, Why? Why are you treating me differently than the

other men at this bar? Like there's something different about

you? And they said, Well, we're Muslims and like, we're not

technically supposed to be at the bar, but we are we? Well, they're

not technically supposed to be at the bar, but they are respectful

to women, because that's what their religion teaches them, and

that was her entry to learning about Islam. And Hamilton

eventually became Muslim. But I just thought of how sometimes we

see other people and we think like, well, a lot, of course,

like, no Muslims should be in a bar, but at the same time, only

Allah knows what that person's future is, and maybe that moment

is their opening to repentance, and maybe that repentance will be

a means of other people finding Islam through them in their own

journey back to him.
