00:00:00 --> 00:00:03
			Do the intro. Yeah, I love how
someone reminded me record.

00:00:03 --> 00:00:07
			Thanks, Jeeva. So we're so blessed
to have her here for this session

00:00:07 --> 00:00:09
			and speaking to this topic,
Inshallah, it's going to be

00:00:09 --> 00:00:13
			amazing. So JazakAllah for being
with us. Shayta Mariam, and I want

00:00:13 --> 00:00:14
			to

00:00:16 --> 00:00:23
			hear you. Alhamdulillah.
Confulila, confullah

00:00:24 --> 00:00:29
			i hamdavila had the incredible
honor of memorizing sorta Toba

00:00:29 --> 00:00:34
			over 10 years ago. And as we go
through the process of memorizing

00:00:34 --> 00:00:39
			Sura, every single Surah that you
memorize, it's very special. There

00:00:39 --> 00:00:42
			is a certain experience you have
with each Sura, and each one

00:00:42 --> 00:00:44
			brings you closer to Alan a
different way,

00:00:45 --> 00:00:50
			but sort of Toba. Specifically. I
had a lot of trouble feeling

00:00:50 --> 00:00:52
			emotionally connected to it,

00:00:53 --> 00:00:56
			and they asked Allah to forgive
me. I don't know why it was so

00:00:56 --> 00:01:00
			hard for me to memorize the surah.
It came at a time that was very

00:01:00 --> 00:01:04
			difficult for me, in terms of I
was in Egypt, and I was helping a

00:01:04 --> 00:01:07
			friend move, and someone was my
brother was coming to visit, and

00:01:07 --> 00:01:11
			there were just so many different
things happening in my life, but

00:01:11 --> 00:01:16
			also I just had trouble really
feeling like I could focus. That

00:01:16 --> 00:01:22
			was just for the memorization, but
in the nine years afterwards, in

00:01:22 --> 00:01:27
			which I was reviewing it, I still
didn't necessarily feel the

00:01:27 --> 00:01:31
			immense closeness to sorta Toba
that I felt to all these other

00:01:31 --> 00:01:33
			different surahs. And of course,
it bothered me. I was wondering

00:01:33 --> 00:01:34
			why I didn't feel this way.

00:01:36 --> 00:01:39
			But last year, Alhamdulillah, I
had the immense,

00:01:40 --> 00:01:42
			beautiful honor of visiting
mashall A

00:01:43 --> 00:01:49
			and afterwards, Alhamdulillah, we
were blessed to go to Medina for

00:01:49 --> 00:01:56
			one day, less than 24 hours on our
trip. And have any of you been to

00:01:56 --> 00:01:58
			Medina? Let me know in the
comments. If you have

00:01:59 --> 00:02:04
			the Masha Allah, may Allah, open
the way for all of you to go. And

00:02:04 --> 00:02:06
			the ones who've said no,
facilitate it for you. The ones

00:02:06 --> 00:02:10
			who said yes, take you over and
over. Those of you who are a woman

00:02:10 --> 00:02:14
			who have been to the Rolla, have
you had sometimes a little bit of

00:02:14 --> 00:02:19
			difficulty getting into the Rolla,
specifically from the woman's

00:02:19 --> 00:02:19
			side?

00:02:21 --> 00:02:27
			Yeah. Subhanallah, it's it's very
difficult sometimes, and it's such

00:02:27 --> 00:02:31
			an honor to go to the Rolla. It is
just the most you know, blessed

00:02:31 --> 00:02:35
			place. But for women, there are
very specific timings in which the

00:02:35 --> 00:02:40
			Rolla is open. Yeah, you stopped
and returned. Yes, subhanAllah,

00:02:40 --> 00:02:44
			may Allah, bless you all.
Sometimes the Rolla is only

00:02:44 --> 00:02:49
			available for certain time periods
for women, lots of pushing, lots

00:02:49 --> 00:02:54
			of pain. And when I went for less
than 24 hours, Subhan, Allah,

00:02:56 --> 00:03:01
			as soon as we got there and it was
a time for women to enter. I tried

00:03:01 --> 00:03:05
			to get in, the guards would not
let me go in. They said we've

00:03:05 --> 00:03:08
			already closed it for tonight,
even though the time was still

00:03:08 --> 00:03:11
			available for women to enter, they
said there's just way too many

00:03:11 --> 00:03:16
			people. I was bawling. I told
them, Look, I'm here for like, 15

00:03:16 --> 00:03:20
			hours. I only have one more time
slot in which it's open for women.

00:03:20 --> 00:03:24
			I won't be able to try again other
than that one time slot. And I'm

00:03:24 --> 00:03:27
			not asking you to give me special
privileges like I understand

00:03:27 --> 00:03:30
			there's 1000s of women who want to
enter, but is there a time that

00:03:30 --> 00:03:32
			you can tell me that I can come
in, for sure, I'll be able to get

00:03:32 --> 00:03:35
			in, and they told me, come back at
that next time, and you'll be able

00:03:35 --> 00:03:38
			to get in. Inshallah, I went back
at that time that they told me. I

00:03:38 --> 00:03:41
			went before the time that they
told me before the time that they

00:03:41 --> 00:03:45
			told me, and they had already
closed the gate. And I said,

00:03:45 --> 00:03:49
			Please, I'm leaving. I won't be
able to go and visit the Prophet

00:03:49 --> 00:03:52
			sallallahu, alayhi wa send them.
And they said, go to the other

00:03:52 --> 00:03:55
			gate. If you go to the other gate,
that one's going to be open. I ran

00:03:55 --> 00:03:57
			to the other gate. I had no idea
there was even another gate.

00:03:57 --> 00:04:02
			Subhanallah to that other gate. I
went and Subhan Allah, they had

00:04:02 --> 00:04:07
			just closed it. They had just
closed that second gate, and they

00:04:07 --> 00:04:10
			said there's no way you're going
to be able to enter, even though

00:04:10 --> 00:04:13
			there were still hours left for
women to be able to get in. This

00:04:13 --> 00:04:16
			was right after Ramadan. There
were so many people there. They

00:04:16 --> 00:04:19
			said, there's just too many people
right now. Come later. And they

00:04:19 --> 00:04:24
			told them, I can't I am leaving.
I'm leaving Medina. I'm Subhan

00:04:24 --> 00:04:25
			Allah. I didn't get in.

00:04:27 --> 00:04:35
			I sat and I wept. I felt like I
did not deserve to be in the city

00:04:35 --> 00:04:36
			of Medina,

00:04:38 --> 00:04:41
			who could not go in to visit the
Prophet sallallahu alayhi

00:04:41 --> 00:04:44
			wasallam. I mean, who would be
prevented from saying their Salam

00:04:44 --> 00:04:47
			straight to the Prophet sallallahu
alayhi wa Sal Of course, we can

00:04:47 --> 00:04:50
			say salawat to the Prophet
sallallahu alayhi, salam,

00:04:50 --> 00:04:55
			Muhammad. But what about if you're
there in the city of the Prophet

00:04:55 --> 00:04:58
			sallallahu alayhi wasallam, I felt
like on the Day of Judgment when

00:04:58 --> 00:04:59
			the Prophet sallallahu.

00:05:00 --> 00:05:03
			Salam. There's people prevented
from going to him because of

00:05:03 --> 00:05:05
			something that they've done. La la
sala May Allah protect us from

00:05:05 --> 00:05:10
			being of those people. I couldn't
look at them at the masjid of

00:05:10 --> 00:05:15
			Medina. I couldn't look at the
skies of Medina. I felt like I

00:05:15 --> 00:05:20
			didn't even deserve to be the dirt
of Medina. I could not figure out

00:05:20 --> 00:05:24
			why I couldn't be close to the
Prophet sallallahu, alayhi wa

00:05:24 --> 00:05:24
			sallam.

00:05:26 --> 00:05:30
			And then in that moment, as I'm
walking outside of the masjid and

00:05:30 --> 00:05:33
			just not even sure where to look,
because I didn't even deserve to

00:05:33 --> 00:05:42
			be in that city, these ayats came
to my mind, well, blah. Ayat

00:05:43 --> 00:05:46
			and

00:05:53 --> 00:05:59
			Surat Toba that talk about the
companions that were supposed to

00:05:59 --> 00:06:03
			go on the battle of Tabuk with the
Prophet sallallahu alayhi

00:06:03 --> 00:06:06
			wasallam, but they didn't, and
they didn't have a reason not to

00:06:06 --> 00:06:09
			go. They simply didn't. And so
when the Prophet sallallahu alayhi

00:06:09 --> 00:06:15
			wasalam came back into Medina and
they asked for forgiveness for

00:06:15 --> 00:06:17
			what they had done, there were
there were consequences of

00:06:17 --> 00:06:22
			communal consequences. And the
Quran talks about how these

00:06:22 --> 00:06:26
			companions will do that, alayhim
will Abu Malwa bet, in the

00:06:26 --> 00:06:31
			vastness of the earth, they felt
like it was so confined, and they

00:06:31 --> 00:06:35
			knew that there was no refuge for
them except with Allah subhanho wa

00:06:35 --> 00:06:39
			taala. That's exactly how I felt.
There was no space for me on the

00:06:39 --> 00:06:44
			entirety of the earth. But where
is there space for me with Allah

00:06:44 --> 00:06:50
			subhanho wa taala, turning back to
Allah subhanho wa taala, sometimes

00:06:50 --> 00:06:53
			in your heart, you have this
feeling like you want to go back

00:06:53 --> 00:07:00
			to Allah. So Mata ba alayhim, he
turned to them, Leah Tubu, so that

00:07:00 --> 00:07:04
			they would turn to Him. If you
have a feeling in your heart like

00:07:04 --> 00:07:08
			you want to go back to Allah, that
is Allah putting that feeling in

00:07:08 --> 00:07:13
			your heart. If you feel like you
want to go back to him, that's

00:07:13 --> 00:07:18
			from him, Leah, Tubu, so that you
will turn back to him. And if you

00:07:18 --> 00:07:21
			don't have that feeling in your
heart, then we just pray that

00:07:21 --> 00:07:24
			Allah puts that feeling in our
heart. That's okay. Just pray that

00:07:24 --> 00:07:25
			Allah puts that feeling in our
heart,

00:07:26 --> 00:07:35
			but these ayat Now suddenly I went
from feeling like I couldn't

00:07:35 --> 00:07:41
			connect emotionally to sorta Toba
for how many years now, sorta Toba

00:07:41 --> 00:07:46
			today for me as the most emotional
surah. For me, there's no surah in

00:07:46 --> 00:07:50
			the Quran that I feel more when
I'm in pain, when I'm confused,

00:07:50 --> 00:07:53
			when I'm feeling anxious, that I
go to than sorta Toba

00:07:54 --> 00:07:57
			when I was in Medina and feeling
so

00:07:59 --> 00:08:04
			lost, I messaged one of my one of
the Sheikah to me, Allah, SWT,

00:08:04 --> 00:08:09
			bless her. I see I was a mentor,
and she told me that, don't worry,

00:08:09 --> 00:08:14
			just go to another place outside
of the masjid and Sheik Haseeb.

00:08:14 --> 00:08:17
			Nor May. Allah, bless him. Many of
you I'm sure are familiar with

00:08:17 --> 00:08:20
			him. I messaged him as well,
because he and I had just been

00:08:20 --> 00:08:24
			lecturing together in mashallah,
and so I messaged him and saying

00:08:24 --> 00:08:27
			that I have no idea why I can't
get in like what is going on with

00:08:27 --> 00:08:31
			me. He knows Medina. He studied in
Medina, and he told me to go to a

00:08:31 --> 00:08:35
			specific place outside of the
masjid racket to give my Salaam.

00:08:35 --> 00:08:39
			So Alhamdulillah, I was so blessed
to be able to give my salaam to

00:08:39 --> 00:08:42
			the Prophet salallahu alayhi wa
sallam, in the closeness in which

00:08:42 --> 00:08:44
			I would have been in the world of
from the woman's side,

00:08:45 --> 00:08:48
			Alhamdulillah, I felt like Allah
provided me an opening, and I felt

00:08:48 --> 00:08:51
			like a relief. And so
Alhamdulillah that we can give our

00:08:51 --> 00:08:54
			Salam to the Prophet sallallahu,
someone's from everywhere. But

00:08:54 --> 00:09:01
			what I took away from this was
that sometimes a door has to close

00:09:01 --> 00:09:05
			for you, for Allah to open a
different door for you that you

00:09:05 --> 00:09:09
			need in your life of worship. Now,
on the outside doesn't seem like a

00:09:09 --> 00:09:11
			better door. How could you
possibly feel like not saying

00:09:11 --> 00:09:14
			Salam to the Prophet sallallahu?
Sallam is the right thing. That's

00:09:14 --> 00:09:19
			not but I don't know why it
happened. I wish it did, and I

00:09:19 --> 00:09:24
			wish I could have said my Salam,
but now what I have is a

00:09:24 --> 00:09:28
			connection to a surah with me
everywhere that I feel close to,

00:09:28 --> 00:09:32
			everywhere that I feel like
comforts me in my pain and my

00:09:32 --> 00:09:36
			anxiety and my confusion and my
emotional overwhelming everywhere,

00:09:36 --> 00:09:40
			sometimes we need to experience
something that will help us

00:09:40 --> 00:09:47
			remember the Allah, Allah, Mel ja
i mean Allah. He Illa elay, there

00:09:47 --> 00:09:54
			is no refuge from Allah except
with him refuge. He is our refuge.

00:09:55 --> 00:09:59
			Our lives are sometimes filled
with these thorns. They.

00:10:00 --> 00:10:03
			Just feel like they are poking us
and they are ripping our skin and

00:10:03 --> 00:10:09
			we're bleeding from touching them.
But sometimes we need to look not

00:10:09 --> 00:10:14
			at the stem, but at the petals of
the rose,

00:10:15 --> 00:10:22
			the colors, the intricacy, the
beauty of the rose itself, and

00:10:22 --> 00:10:25
			that's what we're going to talk
about today Inshallah, how to be

00:10:25 --> 00:10:30
			intentional about our lives, how
to deal with the onslaught of pain

00:10:30 --> 00:10:34
			and confusion and when things
don't go right, and how to still

00:10:34 --> 00:10:37
			make every single moment of our
lives one in which we come closer

00:10:37 --> 00:10:43
			to Allah and our individuals who
are intentional about our worship,

00:10:43 --> 00:10:48
			how to make our lives a bed of
roses despite the thorns that it

00:10:48 --> 00:10:54
			comes with. And so the R in roses
is refuge that we take Allah

00:10:54 --> 00:10:58
			subhanahu wa taala as a refuge the
AYA and Sora to topa is so as Aya

00:10:58 --> 00:10:59
			118 by the way.

00:11:01 --> 00:11:09
			So R is for refuge and roses then
goes to O. Who do we take refuge

00:11:09 --> 00:11:12
			with? O? We take it with the one

00:11:13 --> 00:11:18
			who is the one the O in roses? Who
is he? In order for us to be able

00:11:18 --> 00:11:23
			to understand why we go through
what happens in our lives. We may

00:11:23 --> 00:11:27
			not necessarily be able to get the
wisdom all the time, but you know

00:11:27 --> 00:11:32
			what we can do Inshallah, we can
focus on who has control and who

00:11:32 --> 00:11:32
			we go back to

00:11:34 --> 00:11:43
			Allah tells us walila Hill, Asmaa,
olarubiha, to Allah has he belongs

00:11:43 --> 00:11:47
			the most beautiful names. So make
dua to him by them, the mushrikun,

00:11:47 --> 00:11:50
			the Quraysh. When this ayah was
revealed, they said about the

00:11:50 --> 00:11:54
			Prophet, sallAllahu, alayhi wa
sallam. He makes dua by all of

00:11:54 --> 00:11:59
			these names. He calls a man al
Qadir, and he says that we we

00:11:59 --> 00:12:03
			can't call upon all of our idols,
and that is why this ayah was

00:12:03 --> 00:12:03
			revealed

00:12:04 --> 00:12:09
			to for Allah to tell us that he
has all of these blessed names to

00:12:09 --> 00:12:14
			call upon. These names. Now, let's
look at just three of the names

00:12:14 --> 00:12:15
			right. Now,

00:12:16 --> 00:12:18
			I want to focus on Al Wadud.

00:12:19 --> 00:12:23
			He's the source of love and the
loving. And I want to share with

00:12:23 --> 00:12:27
			you a story in which sometimes
it's hard to understand love from

00:12:27 --> 00:12:31
			the story, because sometimes in
our lives, we don't see love when

00:12:31 --> 00:12:37
			we see hardship. The mother of
Musa alayhi salam, she has a baby

00:12:37 --> 00:12:44
			boy in the midst of a genocide
against baby boys. Now she is a

00:12:44 --> 00:12:48
			righteous woman. She could have
had a baby and said, Oh, Allah,

00:12:48 --> 00:12:53
			why did you give me a boy instead
of a girl? Subhan, Allah, very

00:12:53 --> 00:12:59
			similar to a beautiful, beautiful
narrative mentioned in the Quran

00:12:59 --> 00:13:02
			about how the mother of many
aladdhi Salam, said, well, they

00:13:02 --> 00:13:05
			said that could unfa, but we're
not going to focus on that

00:13:05 --> 00:13:08
			narration right now. Shalom. We're
going to focus on the mother of

00:13:08 --> 00:13:12
			Musa alaihi salam, she has a girl.
I mean, excuse me, a boy. And she

00:13:12 --> 00:13:15
			could have said, Why didn't Allah
bless me with a boy? But now she's

00:13:15 --> 00:13:17
			saying, subhanAllah, what am I
going to do that she has a baby

00:13:17 --> 00:13:23
			boy? It's revealed to her that she
should put this baby in a box in a

00:13:23 --> 00:13:28
			river? Yes, that makes total
logical sense to anybody, right?

00:13:28 --> 00:13:33
			Put a newborn in a box in the
water for all of us, that would

00:13:33 --> 00:13:37
			seem like terrifying, but of
course, she's going to trust in

00:13:37 --> 00:13:43
			Allah. So what does she do? She
puts this baby inside a box in a

00:13:43 --> 00:13:46
			river, and she doesn't know where
that baby is going to end up, but

00:13:46 --> 00:13:50
			she believes in the Promise of
Allah that her baby is going to

00:13:50 --> 00:13:54
			come back to her, so she puts that
baby in the box. And where is it

00:13:54 --> 00:13:59
			delivered to Musa alaihi salam is
delivered to the door of the

00:13:59 --> 00:14:02
			palace of the murderer of baby
boys.

00:14:04 --> 00:14:09
			So many times, when we make dua,
we see the exact opposite of what

00:14:09 --> 00:14:15
			we've asked for, and we think,
Why? Why would the exact opposite

00:14:15 --> 00:14:16
			of what I'm praying for happen?

00:14:18 --> 00:14:22
			But look at why Musa alaihi salam
needed to be delivered to the

00:14:22 --> 00:14:29
			palace SubhanAllah. He had to be
placed in the palace, not just for

00:14:29 --> 00:14:34
			his protection and infancy, but so
that he could be positioned in a

00:14:34 --> 00:14:38
			place of privilege to come back
with the message of calling people

00:14:38 --> 00:14:40
			to Allah, not just for his
personal life,

00:14:41 --> 00:14:46
			but for an entire nation of
people, he saved an entire nation

00:14:46 --> 00:14:51
			of people from servitude and from
the type of oppression that they

00:14:51 --> 00:14:56
			experienced under firaun. And he
guided an entire group of people,

00:14:56 --> 00:14:59
			a nation of people, back to
Allah's Panama, taala. So much.

00:15:00 --> 00:15:04
			So that until today, Musa alayhi
salam wasn't just important for a

00:15:04 --> 00:15:08
			group of people, however big they
were in one time period. Until

00:15:08 --> 00:15:13
			today, we have people from all
walks of life, from all faiths,

00:15:13 --> 00:15:17
			remembering Musa alaihi salam and
the sacrifices that he made as a

00:15:17 --> 00:15:20
			person, as an individual, the pain
that he went through as a person,

00:15:20 --> 00:15:25
			but for what? For a reason beyond
himself, for a legacy that lasted

00:15:25 --> 00:15:28
			beyond a lifetime, for many
lifetimes, for generations to

00:15:28 --> 00:15:33
			come. And when we look at that
sacrifice of his mother,

00:15:35 --> 00:15:39
			he had to be in that position. Are
they his salaam, so that he would

00:15:39 --> 00:15:43
			be in a place where he could make
an impact on the world for the

00:15:44 --> 00:15:47
			until the end of time. But what
about his mom?

00:15:49 --> 00:15:52
			What about his mom letting go of
her baby,

00:15:53 --> 00:15:58
			her her reliance on Allah subhana
wa Taala

00:15:59 --> 00:16:06
			is such a blessing for us, because
we can see Allah's love in this.

00:16:07 --> 00:16:14
			He didn't have to tell us, us, you
and I, that He sent Musa alayhi

00:16:14 --> 00:16:15
			salam back to his mother.

00:16:16 --> 00:16:21
			We didn't have to be the person
who felt like,

00:16:22 --> 00:16:28
			Wow, what a joy that they got to
be reunited to Rodin now, who is

00:16:28 --> 00:16:34
			me, Keita para Ainu ha wala, takha
Zen, Why did Allah return Musa

00:16:34 --> 00:16:39
			alai Islam to his mom, so that his
mother would know that the promise

00:16:39 --> 00:16:42
			of Allah's panel is true, and so
that she's not sad.

00:16:44 --> 00:16:48
			Allah protected her baby by
sending him to the palace, because

00:16:48 --> 00:16:53
			then he was able to go back to his
mom without the concern that he

00:16:53 --> 00:16:57
			was going to be hunted down as a
baby boy with the protection of

00:16:57 --> 00:17:01
			the palace and with constant
provision from the palace, so that

00:17:01 --> 00:17:06
			the palace was also financially
supporting his mother. She got her

00:17:06 --> 00:17:11
			baby back, and we didn't need to
know that the Quran doesn't need

00:17:11 --> 00:17:14
			to make that statement for the
story of Musa alayhis salam to be

00:17:14 --> 00:17:15
			powerful,

00:17:16 --> 00:17:23
			but out of Allah's love for us, Al
Wadud. He allows us to see the

00:17:23 --> 00:17:28
			sweetness in even the immense
hardship that even in the

00:17:28 --> 00:17:33
			distraughtness of putting her
child in a basket and trusting in

00:17:33 --> 00:17:37
			Allah, now Allah will bring her
baby back to him, out of his love

00:17:37 --> 00:17:40
			for you and me, he tells us that
story.

00:17:41 --> 00:17:46
			I know that not everyone is going
to have their child come back.

00:17:47 --> 00:17:52
			Sometimes that's because their
child actually is alive, but maybe

00:17:52 --> 00:17:58
			not close to them, and sometimes
that's because of a loss.

00:17:59 --> 00:18:05
			There is no words that can comfort
a parent who's lost their child.

00:18:05 --> 00:18:09
			There's nothing you can say that
will make that right. There's

00:18:09 --> 00:18:09
			nothing

00:18:11 --> 00:18:13
			but looking at who

00:18:14 --> 00:18:19
			our child is with, is a slight
amount of comfort.

00:18:20 --> 00:18:24
			And knowing that Allah knows that,
Inshallah, one day, we will be

00:18:24 --> 00:18:26
			reunited with that, with that
loved one.

00:18:29 --> 00:18:33
			Dude is the one who allows you to
see like Ibn Al qayyim, Rahima

00:18:33 --> 00:18:37
			hula, excuse me, Ibn Al Taw ILA.
Rahima, Allah mentions that

00:18:37 --> 00:18:42
			sometimes a door closes for us so
that a different door opens, and

00:18:42 --> 00:18:45
			that that door might actually be a
better door. And of course, I'm

00:18:45 --> 00:18:48
			not talking about children. I'm
talking about lives in general,

00:18:49 --> 00:18:53
			that Subhanallah in my own life, I

00:18:55 --> 00:18:58
			I had a time in my life where I
constantly made to offer something

00:18:58 --> 00:19:03
			specific, and every single thing
that every single time that I made

00:19:03 --> 00:19:07
			dua for that thing, I felt like
that door was closing and

00:19:07 --> 00:19:12
			something else was happening that
was not bringing me closer to that

00:19:12 --> 00:19:15
			dua being answered. It was taking
me further away from it. And the

00:19:15 --> 00:19:18
			more that I did, the more dua that
I made, the further away from it

00:19:18 --> 00:19:23
			that I felt. And year after year
went on and went on, and every

00:19:23 --> 00:19:28
			door would close, until finally,
eight years passed by, where

00:19:28 --> 00:19:34
			suddenly I am in a place where
that dua that I made eight years

00:19:34 --> 00:19:35
			before was answered,

00:19:36 --> 00:19:41
			and the timing of that dua, the
circumstances of the Torah, the

00:19:41 --> 00:19:46
			way that the DUA came true, it had
to have happened by all these

00:19:46 --> 00:19:50
			other doors closing first for me
to be able to get into a place

00:19:50 --> 00:19:54
			where it was the most relevant for
my life right then it was the best

00:19:54 --> 00:19:59
			way it could have happened. Allah
is a word dude. He knows the pain.

00:20:00 --> 00:20:04
			You're going through and your
future, we can't always see the

00:20:04 --> 00:20:08
			good of what's happening, and
sometimes there is no explanation

00:20:08 --> 00:20:13
			for it. Sometimes we can't say why
there's loss and there's pain, but

00:20:13 --> 00:20:18
			we don't, we don't we don't say
that we're not going to have a

00:20:18 --> 00:20:23
			pain free life without Allah. What
we say is that we have al Wadud,

00:20:23 --> 00:20:27
			the one who loves us, the one who
loves us more than our own selves,

00:20:27 --> 00:20:32
			to help us get through that and to
sometimes let us see some sort of

00:20:32 --> 00:20:38
			wisdom, and sometimes the delay of
what we're asking for coming at a

00:20:38 --> 00:20:41
			different time, just like we
talked about the mother of Musa,

00:20:41 --> 00:20:44
			are they? He said that sometimes
it happens in the long term, and

00:20:44 --> 00:20:47
			that's when we start to see the
benefits from it. And of course,

00:20:47 --> 00:20:50
			for all of you, may Allah bless
your Ayesha who's lost your

00:20:50 --> 00:20:54
			mother, and all of us who've lost
who's lost loved ones, may Allah

00:20:54 --> 00:20:56
			bless all of our loved ones and
show them into the highest

00:20:56 --> 00:21:01
			paradise and allow us to reunite
with them at the hold of the

00:21:01 --> 00:21:03
			Prophet sallallahu alayhi
wasallam,

00:21:04 --> 00:21:09
			without any, he said, without any
type of judgment. May Allah bless

00:21:09 --> 00:21:12
			us with reuniting with them in
fear. Does Allah? Allah be ready

00:21:12 --> 00:21:16
			his Abu Asmaa, bless every single
one of you and every single one of

00:21:16 --> 00:21:19
			us who's lost loved ones with
seeing them in our dreams in

00:21:19 --> 00:21:23
			paradise, just in the joys of
Paradise, and honor us with

00:21:23 --> 00:21:26
			reuniting with them, Ya Allah and
letting them hug us in our dreams.

00:21:26 --> 00:21:30
			Ya rabal alameen, subhanAllah,
dude blesses us with those types

00:21:30 --> 00:21:33
			of gifts, even in the type of
difficulty.

00:21:34 --> 00:21:37
			So we've talked about Allah dude,
even in hardship. Let's look at

00:21:37 --> 00:21:42
			another name of Allah. Let's look
at a Shakur. He is the one who is

00:21:42 --> 00:21:46
			so grateful for every small thing
that we do.

00:21:48 --> 00:21:51
			Subhanallah, I was blessed with
going for Hajj

00:21:53 --> 00:21:59
			almost eight years ago, actually,
and when we were in hajj on the

00:21:59 --> 00:22:04
			day of Arafa. So many of you know
Arafat is this, you know the most

00:22:04 --> 00:22:08
			the haju Arafa. You know, Hajj is
Arafat so important, and it's the

00:22:08 --> 00:22:10
			most blessed day where we're so
many people are forgiven and safe

00:22:10 --> 00:22:14
			from the hellfire. And we're on,
you know, in Arafat. And the

00:22:14 --> 00:22:17
			speakers, the spiritual teachers
who are there, who are, you know,

00:22:17 --> 00:22:22
			leading all of these different
groups are saying, if you don't

00:22:22 --> 00:22:27
			cry on this day, your heart is as
hard as a rock. If you do not cry

00:22:27 --> 00:22:33
			on this day, where is your Eman,
if you won't cry on this day, then

00:22:33 --> 00:22:35
			where is your heart?

00:22:36 --> 00:22:41
			And they kept saying that over and
over, and when we went for,

00:22:42 --> 00:22:44
			you know, did all of the rights.
We went back to a minute in the

00:22:44 --> 00:22:47
			tents. There was a sister who was
in the tent with us, who had been

00:22:47 --> 00:22:53
			so bubbly and talkative and happy,
and she looked so down and just at

00:22:53 --> 00:22:57
			a loss. And I asked her what was
wrong, and she said, I didn't cry

00:22:57 --> 00:23:02
			in Arafa. I didn't cry a single
time. I didn't shed a single tear

00:23:02 --> 00:23:03
			on Arafat.

00:23:04 --> 00:23:06
			Is my Hajj? Even accepted

00:23:07 --> 00:23:10
			and Subhanallah, we talked about
how the Prophet sallallahu, alas,

00:23:10 --> 00:23:16
			doesn't say crying on Arafat is
Hajj, just being present on Arafa

00:23:16 --> 00:23:22
			is Hajj. Emotions sometimes are
out of our control. And when we

00:23:22 --> 00:23:28
			hear people tell us we're in the
midst of the pandemic, we are in

00:23:28 --> 00:23:32
			the midst of the coronavirus. If
you're not crying right now to go

00:23:32 --> 00:23:35
			back to Allah, then there's
something wrong with your heart.

00:23:35 --> 00:23:40
			This is a punishment, and we have
to recognize that. Yes, those are

00:23:40 --> 00:23:45
			terrifying messages. Yes, this is
a sign for all of us. Yes, we hear

00:23:45 --> 00:23:48
			that, and we know that this is an
opportunity for us to repent. But

00:23:48 --> 00:23:55
			also, some people are not
motivated by fear. Yes, the Quran

00:23:55 --> 00:23:59
			is so incredible because it speaks
to every single one of us. Some of

00:23:59 --> 00:24:02
			us hear about punishment, and it
turns us back to him. But other

00:24:02 --> 00:24:06
			people hear about punishment and
they don't know how to feel. It

00:24:06 --> 00:24:12
			numbs them sometimes. And Allah
balances that message. He balances

00:24:12 --> 00:24:17
			that message with what versus
about paradise, versus about

00:24:17 --> 00:24:21
			coming nearer to him, knowing that
if one thing doesn't motivate you,

00:24:21 --> 00:24:25
			then the reward of the promise of
paradise should motivate you. And

00:24:25 --> 00:24:29
			if that doesn't motivate you, then
the fear of the Hellfire which we

00:24:29 --> 00:24:32
			ask Allah SWT to protect us from,
and the hope for the highest

00:24:32 --> 00:24:36
			Paradise which we ask Allah SWT to
give us, but mostly the love of

00:24:36 --> 00:24:40
			Allah, which we ask him to love us
and make us of the people that he

00:24:40 --> 00:24:43
			loves. Ibn Rahima, Allah speaks
about how the believer, the heart

00:24:43 --> 00:24:47
			of the believer, has is soaring
like a bird, fear on one side, one

00:24:47 --> 00:24:52
			wing, hope on the other side, one
wing. But then also love is the

00:24:52 --> 00:24:56
			head. This love for Allah that we
hope that he will love us, Ya

00:24:56 --> 00:24:59
			Allah and our loved ones, and make
us of the people that he loves.

00:25:00 --> 00:25:04
			Yes, this woman went to the Kaaba
after that, and she went and she

00:25:04 --> 00:25:08
			made tawaf, and she came back and
said, she bawled and she bawled

00:25:08 --> 00:25:13
			and she bawled. She was able to
focus on her gratitude to Allah.

00:25:13 --> 00:25:17
			She was able to recognize that
Allah, SWT Shakur, that he is so

00:25:17 --> 00:25:21
			grateful for all of the things
that you put forth every small

00:25:21 --> 00:25:25
			thing that you do, he sees it, and
he is grateful for that, her love,

00:25:25 --> 00:25:29
			her heart filling with gratitude
to him, recognizing that he is

00:25:29 --> 00:25:32
			grateful that he is so merciful,
even if we don't deserve his

00:25:32 --> 00:25:35
			mercy, He is merciful anyway. It's
not about you. It's not about

00:25:35 --> 00:25:38
			whether or not you deserve his
mercy. He is merciful whether or

00:25:38 --> 00:25:41
			not you deserve his mercy. He is
still a Rahman, he is still a

00:25:41 --> 00:25:46
			Shakur, he is still a Kerim. He's
still a generous one, whether or

00:25:46 --> 00:25:50
			not we deserve that. It don't look
at your smallness and your sins

00:25:50 --> 00:25:53
			and the lack of the lack of the
amount that you are deserving.

00:25:54 --> 00:25:58
			Look at his greatness and who he
is. Have hope the Prophet, the

00:25:58 --> 00:26:02
			Prophet salallahu, Solna, Hadith,
putsi I am as my servant thinks I

00:26:02 --> 00:26:07
			am. Allah says I am as my servant
thinks I am. Remember that he is

00:26:07 --> 00:26:11
			as you think he is. So have hope
in Him, and He will answer you

00:26:11 --> 00:26:16
			with that hope, Ashok. And the
third name of allah we're going to

00:26:16 --> 00:26:21
			cover is a rathib, that he is the
one who is constantly watchful.

00:26:22 --> 00:26:25
			And I've heard a views to talk
about how Allah is watching you,

00:26:26 --> 00:26:29
			almost as if, la some Allah, he's
out to get you, but he's just

00:26:29 --> 00:26:32
			waiting for you to mess up. That's
a message I've heard so many times

00:26:32 --> 00:26:36
			when we talk about Al Raqib, but
Imam Al Asmaa, he talks about,

00:26:37 --> 00:26:43
			he talks about being the the one
who is so aware of, the one that

00:26:43 --> 00:26:48
			he loves and he cares for, he is
so aware and caring for what's

00:26:48 --> 00:26:52
			happening to you. I would liken
this to many of you. Probably like

00:26:52 --> 00:26:56
			our phones. If you are aware of
where your phone is and you're not

00:26:56 --> 00:27:00
			sure you know for, you're probably
for, probably not gonna go a few

00:27:00 --> 00:27:03
			hours without knowing where your
phone is and where you put it.

00:27:03 --> 00:27:05
			You're probably not going to put
it in the sink, because you don't

00:27:05 --> 00:27:08
			want it to get soaked with water.
You're very aware of it, and

00:27:08 --> 00:27:12
			you're trying to take care of it
as an item. Now, of course, this

00:27:12 --> 00:27:16
			is a ridiculous comparison to
Allah, but he cares so much for

00:27:16 --> 00:27:21
			you, but in all moments, he's
aware of you. And Imam ashokany,

00:27:21 --> 00:27:25
			Rahima, Allah, when we talked
about a Shakur, the one who is so

00:27:25 --> 00:27:29
			grateful, the one who is so
appreciative, he says that Allah

00:27:29 --> 00:27:33
			is so appreciative of everything
that you do, in every way that you

00:27:33 --> 00:27:38
			do it, so that he gives back to
you. He gives back to you in ways

00:27:38 --> 00:27:43
			that you that you need. So, for
example, Allah tells us

00:27:44 --> 00:27:48
			wait to add a book on the inshaki.
If you are grateful, I will

00:27:48 --> 00:27:52
			increase you. What does that
increase look like to for Imam

00:27:52 --> 00:27:56
			Ashoke Kenny, he talks about how,
if you need health and you're

00:27:56 --> 00:27:59
			grateful for that, Allah increases
you in health. If you need wealth

00:27:59 --> 00:28:01
			and you're grateful for that,
Allah increases you as well,

00:28:01 --> 00:28:06
			because in shirach, what you need
is different Asmaa from what I

00:28:06 --> 00:28:11
			need, and say, yes, what you need
is different from Danny from what

00:28:11 --> 00:28:14
			you need. Ahmed, what you need is
different from what rafia needs.

00:28:15 --> 00:28:18
			Every single one of us, Zahara and
Aisha, every single one of you

00:28:18 --> 00:28:23
			need something different. I need
something different. And so a

00:28:23 --> 00:28:27
			Shakur who knows that and is so
grateful and is so appreciative of

00:28:27 --> 00:28:32
			what you do, is a rotib who is
observant of you and who knows

00:28:32 --> 00:28:36
			everything what you're going
through so intimately. So when,

00:28:36 --> 00:28:41
			again, that same Hajj I was with
to a woman who I love so deeply.

00:28:41 --> 00:28:46
			May Allah bless them so much. And
in our hedge group, unfortunately,

00:28:46 --> 00:28:50
			we had individuals who are very
judgmental and very rude. For

00:28:50 --> 00:28:53
			those of you who have gone for
Hajj, maybe you've experienced

00:28:53 --> 00:28:57
			this, if you have let us know,
there are sometimes people who

00:28:57 --> 00:29:01
			break your hedge. For you, it's
not the rights of Hajj. It's not

00:29:01 --> 00:29:04
			the physical actions of Hajj
sometimes, sometimes it's the

00:29:04 --> 00:29:07
			people. And it's such a test for
you to keep your patience and to

00:29:07 --> 00:29:12
			remember character and to remember
that. You know it's heartbreaking

00:29:12 --> 00:29:15
			because you're in hajj, you want
everyone to you know yourself, to

00:29:15 --> 00:29:18
			act like the Prophet sallallahu,
alayhi, wa sallam, actions, but

00:29:18 --> 00:29:23
			Subhanallah, you feel so like our
Arma is so distant from that when

00:29:23 --> 00:29:25
			you're in hajj, sometimes,
unfortunately, may Allah return us

00:29:25 --> 00:29:27
			back to the character of the
Prophet sallallahu, alayhi wa

00:29:27 --> 00:29:30
			salam. And so there were these two
beautiful women, and they were

00:29:30 --> 00:29:33
			weeping because of what some
people did in Hajj. And kept

00:29:33 --> 00:29:38
			saying in hajj, and I spoke with
my husband because they these two

00:29:38 --> 00:29:42
			women had mentioned that they
loved Baskin Robbins specifically,

00:29:42 --> 00:29:45
			yes, Hajj is definitely the jihad
of women. I absolutely thought

00:29:45 --> 00:29:47
			that so many times when we were in
Hajj

00:29:49 --> 00:29:52
			and Subhanallah, I'm not trying to
promote the brand Baskin Robbins,

00:29:52 --> 00:29:55
			but they had mentioned that they
really loved Baskin Robbins, and

00:29:55 --> 00:29:59
			they were craving Baskin Robbins.
And we are in Minna. Mina is a 10.

00:30:00 --> 00:30:04
			City. It's literally a desert with
tents everywhere, where you're

00:30:04 --> 00:30:07
			gonna find ice cream. Only a lost
man I went to * could provide

00:30:07 --> 00:30:11
			that it would literally be a
miracle. So we went and we were

00:30:11 --> 00:30:15
			looking for ice cream. We walked
around the tent cities, just tent

00:30:15 --> 00:30:20
			after 10 after tent, we actually
finally found this one place where

00:30:20 --> 00:30:26
			we saw food, and there were, like,
hundreds of people in line. And we

00:30:26 --> 00:30:28
			finally got to the front of the
line, I like, Hamdulillah, they

00:30:28 --> 00:30:32
			had the woman's side, and I went
into the woman's side, and there,

00:30:32 --> 00:30:35
			there was not as many people in
line there, and I asked, you have

00:30:35 --> 00:30:37
			ice cream? And they're like, No,
we don't have ice cream. Why would

00:30:37 --> 00:30:42
			we have ice cream? Subhanallah, we
went back into the tents of Minna,

00:30:42 --> 00:30:45
			where we were from, and we made
dua. We're like all those Panos

00:30:46 --> 00:30:49
			Allah provides. Excuse me from
wherever He wills.

00:30:50 --> 00:30:52
			We walk into the tent,

00:30:53 --> 00:30:59
			and there is someone from our
group holding a Baskin Robbins ice

00:30:59 --> 00:30:59
			cream.

00:31:00 --> 00:31:05
			And I asked, Where did you find
Baskin Robbins ice cream? And they

00:31:05 --> 00:31:09
			said that it is being served in
another package, like the higher

00:31:09 --> 00:31:13
			packages they were serving them
Baskin Robbins ice cream. And so

00:31:13 --> 00:31:19
			they went to, we went to this area
where they were serving the ice

00:31:19 --> 00:31:24
			cream. And subhanAllah, I asked
the man, we are not from this

00:31:24 --> 00:31:28
			package. Can I pay to buy some
Baskin Robbins ice cream? And he

00:31:28 --> 00:31:31
			said, You don't have to pay with
money, but you need to pay with

00:31:31 --> 00:31:36
			cough drops. And for you who might
be hearing the story, maybe you're

00:31:36 --> 00:31:39
			like, that's kind of silly. Cough
drops. Why would they say cough

00:31:39 --> 00:31:43
			drops? Like, why would I even have
cough drops? But anyone who knows

00:31:43 --> 00:31:48
			me really well knows that I always
have cough drops. I didn't bring

00:31:48 --> 00:31:51
			this because I was giving a talk.
I just had it on my table because

00:31:51 --> 00:31:54
			I have cough drops everywhere. I
always have cough drops. And

00:31:54 --> 00:31:57
			subhanAllah, the fact that this
man said that he would exchange

00:31:57 --> 00:32:02
			ice cream for cough drops. Look
how Allah Spano tell is Al Raqib.

00:32:03 --> 00:32:06
			He knows now Allah Spano telling,
knows I'm going to have cough

00:32:06 --> 00:32:11
			drops. And this man needs cough
drops. And these sisters who are

00:32:11 --> 00:32:16
			trying to find something for what
basket Robin ice cream. And Allah

00:32:16 --> 00:32:19
			subjugates all of these different
things in the world to come

00:32:19 --> 00:32:23
			together because he's so merciful,

00:32:27 --> 00:32:32
			that he's so observant of us, that
he knows so intimately, that I'm

00:32:33 --> 00:32:35
			going to have something that
someone else needs, and he's going

00:32:35 --> 00:32:38
			to have something that someone
else needs. And when we came back

00:32:38 --> 00:32:41
			with the ice cream to the sisters,
they were still crying,

00:32:42 --> 00:32:46
			and then they said, Where did you
find Baskin Robbins ice cream from

00:32:50 --> 00:32:56
			SubhanAllah. Wasn't from us. It
was from Allah subhanahu wa. Allah

00:32:56 --> 00:33:02
			subhanahu wa is so caring about
you. He sees your hardship in the

00:33:02 --> 00:33:07
			midst of your hardship, and he
gives you just to remind you that

00:33:07 --> 00:33:12
			he is there. And that might not
mean that your DUA is exactly

00:33:12 --> 00:33:16
			accepted the way you ask, but what
it might mean is that you have a

00:33:16 --> 00:33:17
			different blessing.

00:33:18 --> 00:33:21
			So sit and think about the
blessings that you have in your

00:33:21 --> 00:33:27
			life, they all come from him. So
maybe those doors have closed for

00:33:27 --> 00:33:29
			you that you don't understand why
they're not opening, but maybe

00:33:29 --> 00:33:33
			other doors have opened for you,
and maybe in that is the relief

00:33:33 --> 00:33:35
			from Allah subhanho wa taala.

00:33:36 --> 00:33:38
			When we look at the one,

00:33:39 --> 00:33:46
			we're able to see that we can
shift our perspective when we look

00:33:46 --> 00:33:48
			at the different types of life
trials.

00:33:50 --> 00:33:56
			So Allah is our refuge R in roses.
He is the one that we go back to

00:33:56 --> 00:34:02
			the O, and then we go to S. And
what is S? We are shifting our

00:34:02 --> 00:34:03
			perspective.

00:34:04 --> 00:34:10
			It's not about what we are doing
right now. It's about who we are

00:34:10 --> 00:34:11
			doing it for

00:34:14 --> 00:34:19
			let's look at the story of Yusuf
alaihi salam

00:34:21 --> 00:34:24
			ya ubalahi Salam has lost his son.

00:34:25 --> 00:34:30
			He rejoins with Yusuf alaihi
salam. Some of the mufarum say,

00:34:30 --> 00:34:32
			after 40 years,

00:34:34 --> 00:34:39
			sometimes you are going through
pain and loss. And people say,

00:34:40 --> 00:34:43
			hasn't it been long enough?
Haven't you been sad long enough?

00:34:44 --> 00:34:47
			Isn't it time for you to get over
it? Should you really still be

00:34:47 --> 00:34:49
			crying after all these years?

00:34:50 --> 00:34:55
			You can tell them that Yaqub
alayhis salaam cried for 40 years.

00:34:56 --> 00:34:59
			You can tell them that Yale his
salaam continuously.

00:40:00 --> 00:40:03
			Hours and hours, praying all
night. They're fasting day and

00:40:03 --> 00:40:06
			night. They're doing all these
acts of worship, but change shift

00:40:06 --> 00:40:13
			your perspective. The Prophet SAW
told us in them, yet actions are

00:40:13 --> 00:40:17
			by intention. So when you are
going to feed your newborn, you're

00:40:17 --> 00:40:21
			literally, physically from your
own Self. You are sustaining

00:40:21 --> 00:40:26
			another person that is a huge act
of worship, and perhaps the fact

00:40:27 --> 00:40:31
			that you are working so hard to
provide for your family, perhaps

00:40:31 --> 00:40:34
			the fact that you're taking care
of your elderly parents, and

00:40:34 --> 00:40:39
			because of the way that you are
not able to worship, because you

00:40:39 --> 00:40:42
			are emotionally overwhelmed,
because you feel like you're

00:40:42 --> 00:40:45
			worried about them. Because
whatever it is that you can't take

00:40:45 --> 00:40:49
			care of your own worship in the
way that you wish you were free to

00:40:49 --> 00:40:52
			do. You are taking care of other
people, whatever that is in your

00:40:52 --> 00:40:55
			life, Allah has placed that in
your life for a reason,

00:40:56 --> 00:41:02
			so that that is your worship. And
the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa

00:41:02 --> 00:41:07
			sallam told us and about a person
there was a man who was walking

00:41:08 --> 00:41:11
			and the companion said, Wouldn't
it be better he was like a strong,

00:41:11 --> 00:41:14
			healthy man? And they said,
Wouldn't it have been better if

00:41:14 --> 00:41:17
			that man had gone out in this for
the sake of Allah? And the Prophet

00:41:17 --> 00:41:23
			sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said
that if that man had gone to make

00:41:23 --> 00:41:27
			a living to provide for his young
children that is going out for the

00:41:27 --> 00:41:31
			sake of Allah. If that man had
gone out to provide for his

00:41:31 --> 00:41:35
			elderly parents, that is going out
for the sake of Allah that is

00:41:35 --> 00:41:38
			worshiping in the sake of Allah
that is striving, that's the word

00:41:38 --> 00:41:42
			striving, for the sake of Allah.
And if that man had gone out to

00:41:42 --> 00:41:45
			provide for himself so that he
doesn't need to beg from other

00:41:45 --> 00:41:48
			people, then that is striving for
the sake of Allah subhanho wa

00:41:48 --> 00:41:52
			taala. So you whatever you're
doing in your life, whether it's

00:41:52 --> 00:41:55
			brushing your teeth, taking care
of your home, cooking for your

00:41:55 --> 00:41:59
			loved ones, sitting in traffic for
hours on end, whatever you are

00:41:59 --> 00:42:04
			doing for you, your yourself and
your family, to to earn a living,

00:42:04 --> 00:42:08
			to take care of the people around
you, to take care of yourself, all

00:42:08 --> 00:42:12
			of those things in them, yet they
are all worship with the

00:42:12 --> 00:42:16
			intention. So you just shift your
perspective. You're doing it for

00:42:16 --> 00:42:20
			the one who you know is
appreciative, who you know is the

00:42:20 --> 00:42:24
			most loving who you know is
observing you, and you do it, and

00:42:24 --> 00:42:27
			you seek refuge with him that even
when you feel like you're not as

00:42:27 --> 00:42:29
			good as all these other people,

00:42:30 --> 00:42:35
			maybe to you, maybe to you. In
your mind, the most beloved person

00:42:35 --> 00:42:38
			to Allah is someone who fast day
and night and spends their day

00:42:38 --> 00:42:41
			upon days upon days in them, in
the masjid worshiping.

00:42:42 --> 00:42:46
			And maybe they are so beloved to
Allah because of what, because of

00:42:46 --> 00:42:46
			doing that,

00:42:48 --> 00:42:50
			but maybe to Allah,

00:42:51 --> 00:42:58
			a different person who is working
at a grocery store right now where

00:42:58 --> 00:43:01
			they are exposing themselves to
this virus, but they're still

00:43:01 --> 00:43:05
			working, because they have to make
ends meet for their family, and

00:43:05 --> 00:43:08
			they're providing a service for so
many people to help keep them

00:43:08 --> 00:43:11
			sustained. Imagine if everyone
decided that all of the grocery

00:43:11 --> 00:43:15
			stores are going to be shut down.
Who is going to have food only the

00:43:15 --> 00:43:20
			people who have already had enough
money to store all this food we

00:43:20 --> 00:43:22
			already know about the privileges
of this world. There are so many

00:43:22 --> 00:43:26
			levels of privilege, but
Subhanallah, this person, what

00:43:26 --> 00:43:29
			they're doing is an act of
service, the person who's on the

00:43:29 --> 00:43:31
			front lines right now for covid,
the person who's keeping their

00:43:31 --> 00:43:34
			children home and protecting them.
There are so many different types

00:43:34 --> 00:43:38
			of people. We don't know what
level all these different people

00:43:38 --> 00:43:42
			are. The adult who is taking care
of their disabled child, the

00:43:42 --> 00:43:46
			disabled child, the special needs
person who Subhanallah, maybe in

00:43:46 --> 00:43:50
			the Muslim community. I love the
Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa

00:43:50 --> 00:43:53
			sallam, so much. Look at what he
did. Look at what he created.

00:43:53 --> 00:43:59
			Salawat, a community in which who
gave the Adan in the community of

00:43:59 --> 00:44:03
			the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa
sallam, two two. He had two

00:44:03 --> 00:44:07
			different events. Who are they?
One of them mentioned bila radila.

00:44:07 --> 00:44:08
			Who is another person?

00:44:11 --> 00:44:12
			Any ideas?

00:44:15 --> 00:44:19
			So we have Bilal radila, and then
we have Abdullah ibn umaktun.

00:44:19 --> 00:44:24
			Thank you, Basset, may Allah bless
all of you, and rafia and Ira era,

00:44:24 --> 00:44:28
			Iram male and Jimmy. Let's May
Allah every single one, even

00:44:28 --> 00:44:31
			Aisha. Aisha, I said, radiant.
Always be pleased with you and all

00:44:31 --> 00:44:34
			of you. So we have bila
RadiAllahu, anhu, and we have

00:44:34 --> 00:44:39
			Abdul ABIM now bidala, one of the
sisters here, may Allah bless you.

00:44:39 --> 00:44:43
			You mentioned that in Hajj you had
so much racism from people because

00:44:43 --> 00:44:46
			you're black. That is so real in
our community. We have so many

00:44:46 --> 00:44:49
			issues with racism in our
community. May Allah bless you and

00:44:49 --> 00:44:52
			protect you and bless all of our
brothers and sisters who are

00:44:52 --> 00:44:54
			black, and bless all of our
brothers and sisters who are any

00:44:54 --> 00:44:56
			type of anything that they're
dealing with, with regards to the

00:44:56 --> 00:44:59
			lack of privilege, with regard to
the racism, with regards to that.

00:45:00 --> 00:45:02
			Different types of isms. We have
so many. Unfortunately, in our

00:45:02 --> 00:45:06
			community, the Prophet sallallahu,
alayhi wa salam, he put two people

00:45:06 --> 00:45:10
			to be thummed. Now, why is this so
beautiful? It's not just because

00:45:10 --> 00:45:12
			it's the person who's making the
event that's already so much

00:45:12 --> 00:45:16
			reward and so beautiful, but also
it's because it's sending a

00:45:16 --> 00:45:20
			message that the person who is
calling to prayer a huge status in

00:45:20 --> 00:45:24
			Islam, who is going to be seen as
a representative of Muslims? When

00:45:24 --> 00:45:27
			someone who isn't Muslim comes in
and sees the community, when

00:45:27 --> 00:45:31
			people who are Muslim see the
community, they're not just part

00:45:31 --> 00:45:35
			of the community, they're not just
here. They're not just available.

00:45:35 --> 00:45:38
			No, they are integral to the
community. They are part of the

00:45:38 --> 00:45:42
			fabric of the community. They
need, we need you to make this

00:45:42 --> 00:45:45
			community work. So Abdullah Abu, a
person who was blind, who has a

00:45:45 --> 00:45:50
			disability, Bilal radiah, who
obviously being black is amazing,

00:45:50 --> 00:45:53
			and that's such a beautiful,
beautiful blessing from Allah. In

00:45:53 --> 00:45:57
			that society, in that racist
society, there was problems with

00:45:57 --> 00:46:01
			color and that racist society, the
fact that he wasn't fully Arab was

00:46:01 --> 00:46:05
			an issue because of the racism in
that society. Because he was a

00:46:05 --> 00:46:08
			freed slave, that was an issue in
that society. Now the Prophet

00:46:08 --> 00:46:12
			sallallahu, alayhi wasallam is
saying, is showing us Look who is

00:46:12 --> 00:46:15
			the Prophet sallallahu, alas,
going to put in a place where

00:46:15 --> 00:46:20
			every single person is going to
see these people not just matter,

00:46:20 --> 00:46:25
			but they are critical for our
community. The Prophet sallallahu,

00:46:25 --> 00:46:28
			sallam, puts them there to teach
all of us how our communities

00:46:28 --> 00:46:32
			should be. So now you don't know
who is the most beloved to Allah.

00:46:33 --> 00:46:35
			Maybe it is the person who's
worshiping day and night, because

00:46:35 --> 00:46:39
			Allah give them the privileges to
do so, and they use that

00:46:39 --> 00:46:43
			privilege. That's the point. So
many of us have hours upon hours

00:46:43 --> 00:46:46
			upon hours on end, and I have a
really funny story. Actually, I

00:46:46 --> 00:46:49
			was talking to a sister. I'm not
going to mention her name, because

00:46:49 --> 00:46:51
			I didn't ask for for her
permission, specifically for her

00:46:51 --> 00:46:54
			name, but she shared this in a
public setting, so I think it's

00:46:54 --> 00:46:56
			okay if I share this story,
because it was public. It was in a

00:46:56 --> 00:47:01
			class with a lot of, like, a lot
of attendees someday, let's very

00:47:01 --> 00:47:03
			public anyway. That's not the
point. The point the point is, she

00:47:03 --> 00:47:07
			was saying how sometimes she feels
really guilty because she wants to

00:47:07 --> 00:47:12
			spend the time, you know, like
doing productive things, but she

00:47:12 --> 00:47:15
			just needs this moment to like
rest, and so she decides to watch

00:47:15 --> 00:47:19
			ertugal. Ertugal, which I'm sure
many of you know of, is a Turkish

00:47:19 --> 00:47:22
			series about the Ottoman Empire.
Starting with Ottoman Empire, it's

00:47:22 --> 00:47:26
			like, such an Islamic show. It's
like, all about Muslims. It's so

00:47:26 --> 00:47:29
			Islamic. And she's like, and I was
like, so into the show that I

00:47:29 --> 00:47:35
			binged watched all five seasons
over a period of a year and a

00:47:35 --> 00:47:35
			half.

00:47:37 --> 00:47:40
			I am literally laughing to myself,
because I thought she was gonna

00:47:40 --> 00:47:44
			say that she watched The Vampire
Diaries and she binged watched all

00:47:44 --> 00:47:47
			the seasons over the period of,
like a week, because that's what

00:47:47 --> 00:47:51
			we usually hear. Usually we hear
people find a show and they binge

00:47:51 --> 00:47:56
			watch it over like two days, but
not, not an Islamic show over a

00:47:56 --> 00:47:59
			year and a half, like you see the
levels of righteousness, like some

00:47:59 --> 00:48:01
			people mashallah, you know, it's a
panel,

00:48:02 --> 00:48:05
			what the righteous people consider
sins are like the average what we

00:48:05 --> 00:48:09
			would normally do. But the point
is that some people have hours

00:48:09 --> 00:48:11
			upon hours upon hours of free
time, and that's all that they do.

00:48:11 --> 00:48:14
			And then other people have hours
upon hours upon hours of free

00:48:14 --> 00:48:18
			time, and they use it for worship.
And so the real question isn't,

00:48:19 --> 00:48:22
			why are all these differences
happening in our lives? It's

00:48:22 --> 00:48:26
			shifting your perspective. How are
you going to make whatever you do

00:48:27 --> 00:48:29
			an act of worship to Allah
subhanho wa taala? How are you

00:48:29 --> 00:48:33
			going to make the intention that
no matter what you do, this is for

00:48:33 --> 00:48:37
			the sake the Allah SWT, Allah
subhanho wa Taala tells us in the

00:48:37 --> 00:48:45
			swala t1 Yeah. Yo imati, lilahi,
Robin, and your sacrifice and your

00:48:45 --> 00:48:49
			death, everything, everything your
Salah, everything is for Allah,

00:48:50 --> 00:48:56
			and that's when you rest, because
you know that you do whatever you

00:48:56 --> 00:48:59
			do in your life for His sake, and
then you leave everything else up

00:48:59 --> 00:49:00
			to him.

00:49:01 --> 00:49:07
			So we talked about refuge, the one
shift in mentality. So we have r,

00:49:07 --> 00:49:12
			O, S, and now we're going to go to
E, the E, and Rose is Ay Bada,

00:49:14 --> 00:49:20
			and that is looking at how you can
increase aribada in your life. So

00:49:20 --> 00:49:24
			we have already talked about how
ay bada can be basically anything

00:49:24 --> 00:49:28
			with the intention, but sometimes
your soul needs something more,

00:49:28 --> 00:49:32
			right? Sometimes you need to feel
something. You might have cried in

00:49:32 --> 00:49:36
			sweetness, in worship once, but
it's been a really long time since

00:49:36 --> 00:49:39
			you felt that way. How do you
bring that back to your life? I'm

00:49:39 --> 00:49:42
			going to suggest two ways
Inshallah, which I'm only

00:49:42 --> 00:49:45
			suggesting too, because there are
so many ways to worship Allah. But

00:49:46 --> 00:49:48
			I'm hoping that maybe in these two
ways, it'll bring something

00:49:48 --> 00:49:52
			practical for whatever your life
circumstances are. The first one

00:49:52 --> 00:49:56
			is, yes, grin, absolutely. I gave
a lecture recently Sabrina

00:49:56 --> 00:49:59
			referenced about grinning, but
we're.

00:50:00 --> 00:50:03
			Gonna focus on contemplating the
verses of Allah.

00:50:04 --> 00:50:08
			So the Prophet salallahu alaihi
wasallah continuously recited one

00:50:08 --> 00:50:11
			night into a vibraham,

00:50:12 --> 00:50:20
			faint azizul Hakim, over and over
and over and over. He recited the

00:50:20 --> 00:50:26
			same verse over and over. Say,
aid, I mean, juveilla. He recited

00:50:26 --> 00:50:29
			what took, who yo, men, tur una
fee he ill Allah,

00:50:30 --> 00:50:34
			that be conscious of the day that
you're going to return back to

00:50:34 --> 00:50:39
			Allah. Asmaa bin Abu Bakr Al Ha,
she was known to recite over and

00:50:39 --> 00:50:44
			over for men Allahu, Alayna wa
samom Oh, over she would recite

00:50:44 --> 00:50:48
			the Allah, protect, you know, gave
us this bounty and protected us

00:50:48 --> 00:50:50
			from the great punishment.

00:50:51 --> 00:50:55
			And Hassan Allah, him Allah, he
would lay down in his bed and

00:50:55 --> 00:50:57
			continuously say

00:51:00 --> 00:51:04
			into our dunya matalahila to Suha,
what in Allah Rahim,

00:51:05 --> 00:51:09
			over and over and over. And he
said, every single time he recited

00:51:09 --> 00:51:13
			this verse, He saw different types
of blessings come into his life.

00:51:13 --> 00:51:18
			The point is that you keep finding
one verse that speaks to you,

00:51:19 --> 00:51:23
			and you think about how that verse
relates to your life. You open the

00:51:23 --> 00:51:27
			must have. You find an ayah that
speaks to your soul, or maybe a

00:51:27 --> 00:51:28
			surah that speaks to your soul.

00:51:30 --> 00:51:34
			And you think about it, you read
the tafsir on that verse. You pray

00:51:34 --> 00:51:37
			with it when you're praying, you
memorize that one verse. You build

00:51:37 --> 00:51:40
			a connection with that ayah. That
ayah becomes your form of ay Bada,

00:51:40 --> 00:51:43
			when you're in the midst of the
crazy you're working in your

00:51:43 --> 00:51:46
			office and you have a million
meetings, you only have five

00:51:46 --> 00:51:50
			minutes to step away. You step
away, and you think about that

00:51:50 --> 00:51:55
			ayah and how it applies to your
life. You say over and over, you

00:51:55 --> 00:51:59
			relish it. You hold it to your
heart. You hold the must have

00:51:59 --> 00:52:04
			physically to you, and you think
about how this Quran has changed

00:52:04 --> 00:52:08
			the world, how the mountains
couldn't handle the revelation of

00:52:08 --> 00:52:13
			the Quran, but Allah made your
heart strong enough for to carry

00:52:13 --> 00:52:18
			the Quran. How can you become
someone who sees the Quran as your

00:52:19 --> 00:52:24
			form of safe space. You look at
the Quran and zaribada, you find

00:52:24 --> 00:52:26
			one verse, and you feel connected
to it.

00:52:27 --> 00:52:31
			And another way that you can do
this, if you are you know, in the

00:52:31 --> 00:52:35
			midst of everything and so busy is
bhikkh, you constantly remember

00:52:35 --> 00:52:39
			the Prophet salallahu, some Allah
musalliva No Muhammad. You

00:52:39 --> 00:52:42
			constantly remember Allah,
subhanho wa taala, when you

00:52:42 --> 00:52:46
			remember the Prophet, sallAllahu,
alayhi wa sallam, your Allah

00:52:46 --> 00:52:50
			remembers you 10 times. He raises
your rank 10 degrees in paradise.

00:52:51 --> 00:52:52
			He forgives you 10

00:52:53 --> 00:52:57
			He forgives you 10 times. He gives
you reward 10 times. And

00:52:57 --> 00:53:03
			subhanAllah, I was very humbled to
give a lecture once with a very

00:53:03 --> 00:53:09
			famous nasheed singer. I was in
the back room, and he has a song

00:53:09 --> 00:53:12
			of nasheed that's just Salawat on
the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa

00:53:12 --> 00:53:13
			salam.

00:53:14 --> 00:53:17
			And the Prophet sallallahu, alayhi
wa Salam is praised by this

00:53:17 --> 00:53:23
			person's words everywhere. And so
I asked him, Have you noticed any

00:53:23 --> 00:53:27
			blessings in your life? Because
you constantly have people sending

00:53:27 --> 00:53:32
			Salawat by saying your words. And
he said, I am always happy. And

00:53:32 --> 00:53:34
			that doesn't mean that you're
going to always be happy when you

00:53:34 --> 00:53:37
			send Salawat on the Prophet
sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. It

00:53:37 --> 00:53:40
			doesn't mean your life is always
happy, but it means you're closer

00:53:40 --> 00:53:42
			to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi
wa sallam, and there are angels

00:53:42 --> 00:53:46
			that sit on your lips and that
wait for you to say, Allahumma

00:53:46 --> 00:53:49
			saliva, salamano, habina Muhammad,
to take that salam to him. You're

00:53:49 --> 00:53:52
			bringing angels into your life by
sending Salawat on the Prophet

00:53:52 --> 00:53:55
			sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. So
we've talked about the e as

00:53:55 --> 00:54:00
			aribata, and we're going to end
with the s of service. Service.

00:54:02 --> 00:54:06
			I have a friend who, when she
studied in Egypt, all of these

00:54:06 --> 00:54:09
			people in Egypt who lived on the
streets or lived in, you know,

00:54:09 --> 00:54:13
			very difficult circumstances would
come and beg constantly of her, of

00:54:13 --> 00:54:16
			all people, they would walk and
just, you know, grab her clothing

00:54:16 --> 00:54:18
			and say, give, give, give. And she
didn't have money to constantly

00:54:18 --> 00:54:21
			give. And so what she would do is
she would turn to them and say,

00:54:21 --> 00:54:25
			What's your name? How old are you?
How is your family? Where do you

00:54:25 --> 00:54:29
			live? And just get to know them.
And eventually, when she started

00:54:29 --> 00:54:33
			to pass them, when they sat in
front of the masjid, they stopped

00:54:33 --> 00:54:38
			asking. They just asked her, How
are you? They started saying,

00:54:38 --> 00:54:42
			Thank you for recognizing us as
humans, as people, and how can we

00:54:42 --> 00:54:49
			make dua for you? Anything that
they would ask her to tell them

00:54:49 --> 00:54:53
			what she needs. They would make
dua for and Allah would answer

00:54:53 --> 00:54:59
			that dua in her life, service when
you intend that every action.

00:55:00 --> 00:55:04
			You do is an act of service.
Allah, like Ibn Al qayyim, Rahima

00:55:04 --> 00:55:09
			hula says you might be asleep, but
the doors of paradise are being

00:55:09 --> 00:55:13
			knocked upon by a poor person that
you helped by a sad person that

00:55:13 --> 00:55:18
			you made happy by a person who is
going through distress and you

00:55:18 --> 00:55:21
			eased it for them, they are
praying for you while you're

00:55:21 --> 00:55:26
			asleep. So never underestimate any
act of good. A scholar who passed

00:55:26 --> 00:55:28
			away, his student saw him in a
dream, and he was in paradise. And

00:55:28 --> 00:55:31
			the student said, How did you get
there? And the scholar said,

00:55:31 --> 00:55:35
			because I used to go to the
outskirts of a city and teach

00:55:35 --> 00:55:39
			elderly, illiterate women. Surat
Al Fatiha, that's it. That was the

00:55:39 --> 00:55:43
			action that Allah the act of
service is what brought him so

00:55:43 --> 00:55:47
			much closer to Allah, in your own
life, with your family, with your

00:55:47 --> 00:55:52
			loved ones, that is how you act.
Make your intention one of

00:55:52 --> 00:55:55
			service. And right now, if you are
someone who has been privileged

00:55:55 --> 00:55:59
			enough in the past to maybe have
cleaners in your home, or who

00:55:59 --> 00:56:03
			someone privileged enough to have
a gym membership or something

00:56:03 --> 00:56:06
			where you're constantly paying
someone right now in the midst of

00:56:06 --> 00:56:09
			this virus, keep paying them. You
can do that while they're living

00:56:09 --> 00:56:12
			paycheck to paycheck, if it's
budgeted for if you have the money

00:56:12 --> 00:56:17
			for it, do it because there this
is a service that you can do for

00:56:17 --> 00:56:21
			individuals Padilla, who might not
have the gifts that Allah swt has

00:56:21 --> 00:56:24
			blessed you specifically with that
is a privilege that very, very few

00:56:24 --> 00:56:27
			of the population have, but you
can keep giving to them, and you

00:56:27 --> 00:56:29
			don't know what types of divide
they are making for you while

00:56:29 --> 00:56:33
			you're sleeping, the Prophet
sallallahu, alayhi wasallam has

00:56:33 --> 00:56:40
			blessed us with so much to teach
us about character, so many

00:56:40 --> 00:56:45
			stories and all of the prophets in
their lives give us hope that no

00:56:45 --> 00:56:48
			matter how many thorns they
experienced in their lifetime,

00:56:48 --> 00:56:53
			over and over, they saw the pain
of the hardship of the of all of

00:56:53 --> 00:56:58
			these different types of physical
touches of pain in thorns. At the

00:56:58 --> 00:57:04
			end of that stem, there's a rose,
and to make a bed of roses, you'd

00:57:04 --> 00:57:08
			seek ALLAH as your refuge. You
know that he's the one you see,

00:57:08 --> 00:57:12
			you shift your mentality. You
increase in your ay Bada, so that

00:57:12 --> 00:57:16
			you have that safe space, and you
do service. And in all of those

00:57:16 --> 00:57:20
			ways, Inshallah, you can make your
life one in which is completely in

00:57:20 --> 00:57:24
			service to Him. Baraka Lo Fi come

I was speaking so panic. Alamo

00:57:30 --> 00:57:33
			behind the conditional in that
ilaha illa and tennessa Lo firaka

00:57:33 --> 00:57:37

00:57:38 --> 00:57:42
			meloson, bless you. So many gems
that I took away and I I know many

00:57:42 --> 00:57:45
			of us were chatting, or people
typing in the chat, just the

00:57:45 --> 00:57:49
			upliftment they felt. So my last
one, you and your family, thank

00:57:49 --> 00:57:53
			you. Thank you all so much.
Alhamdulillah. So Inshallah, you

00:57:53 --> 00:57:56
			guys were going to be in the few
minutes we have. I know you guys

00:57:56 --> 00:57:59
			are asking Q and A, we're not
going to have time after each

00:57:59 --> 00:58:02
			session for Q and A. It just
depends on timing. So this one, we

00:58:02 --> 00:58:05
			are running a little late. I want
to give you guys a couple minutes

00:58:05 --> 00:58:08
			if you want to type in the chat
gems you took away from the

00:58:08 --> 00:58:10
			session. I think it's always nice
to just share it. And for those

00:58:10 --> 00:58:13
			people who joined late, you know,
they can go through that as well.

00:58:13 --> 00:58:17
			So feel free to type that in the
chat. And just a reminder, I think

00:58:17 --> 00:58:20
			always the best thing you can do
for our teachers is make thought

00:58:20 --> 00:58:23
			for them. If there was anything
that you benefited from Inshallah,

00:58:23 --> 00:58:26
			from Sheikha session, please make
love for her and her family. I

00:58:26 --> 00:58:28
			think that's one of the most
important things we can do. And we

00:58:28 --> 00:58:31
			forget that we love to praise them
and compliment them, which is

00:58:31 --> 00:58:34
			wonderful, but definitely make law
for her. Inshallah.

00:58:35 --> 00:58:39
			Inshallah, we're gonna have you on
on again with discover you and

00:58:39 --> 00:58:43
			you're part of the discover you
and you're part of the discover

00:58:44 --> 00:58:48
			you family. We love. Enjoy the
rest of your Saturday, and maybe

00:58:48 --> 00:58:53
			we'll see you on on the chat and
stuff. So I'm going to

00:58:54 --> 00:58:58
			just quickly go through some of
the gems you guys are sharing

00:58:58 --> 00:58:59
			there.

00:59:01 --> 00:59:04
			I missed a bunch, but I know we're
going to be posting gems

00:59:04 --> 00:59:06
			throughout the day as well. So
Inshallah, we can use some of

00:59:06 --> 00:59:10
			them. I love the section on Ibadah
that is something that I start to

00:59:10 --> 00:59:12
			implement in my life.
Alhamdulillah. One of the gems

00:59:12 --> 00:59:16
			that I was writing is Sheikha was
speaking was, sometimes a door has

00:59:16 --> 00:59:19
			to close for you, for Allah to
open, another door of worship, and

00:59:19 --> 00:59:22
			another one was we need to
experience something that will

00:59:22 --> 00:59:26
			remind us a lot, is the refuge,
and I love that. Alhamdulillah. So

00:59:26 --> 00:59:29
			guys, we're going to get into our
next session inshallah. So just

00:59:29 --> 00:59:30
			give me a second,

00:59:32 --> 00:59:35
			and while I'm doing that, for
those who just joined in the last

00:59:35 --> 00:59:39
			40 minutes or 30 minutes, say your
salams in the chat. Let us know

00:59:39 --> 00:59:41
			where you're joining in from.
We're trying to cover all the

00:59:41 --> 00:59:44
			continents, and we're almost
there, Alhamdulillah, so do that

00:59:45 --> 00:59:45
			inshallah.

00:59:58 --> 00:59:59
			Okay, so we're gonna get rid.

01:00:00 --> 01:00:02
			For our next session. Give me a
second, guys, bye.
