Hi, everyone. I hope you're keeping well.
I'm going to talk about 2 things today,
success
and retirement.
And I want to tell you that they
don't see eye to eye with each other.
Success and retirement can never see eye to
eye with each other. And if in your
career, you feel that you're going to retire
at the age of 60 and you've made
it big already in life,
you're probably deceiving yourself.
The biggest deception is to think that I'm
successful
and I'm going to retire at the age
of 60. You can't be successful and retire
at the age of 60.
Let's look at all these people who made
it big in their life. All these large
corporate organizations,
all these big entrepreneurs out there in the
world who continue to contribute to their life
on a daily basis. They have long crossed
the age of 60, and yet they keep
productively
adding back to the society. How do they
do this? They do this because they're ready
to renew their challenges on a daily basis.
They know that in order to be successful,
you need to have a dream.
You need to envision a dream, and you
need to focus and believe in yourself that
your dream is going to become a reality
one day. That's the kind of focus you
need to have.
You can't be successful
when you're ready to take on a risk,
but you fear the possibility of a loss.
Please understand this. You can't have a fear
in your heart and still aspire to be
successful. So please understand that in order to
be successful,
the challenge is to take on risks in
life. Yes.
Some risks will pay off, some may not.
And if they don't pay off, you need
to go back and revisit
your strategies. You need to rework on your
strategies, but you don't stop. You keep renewing
your challenges on a daily basis.
The easier way out is that you work
in an organization
and you keep moving from one position to
the other till the time you reach the
age of 60,
and then you retire
and then you sit back and enjoy whatever
money you've made in your life, what is
the productive capacity of yours after 60?
You see, people who are successful in life,
they don't stop.
Success is not
defined for them as reaching a certain position
in life.
Rather, for them, success is to renew the
challenges,
to meet some challenges, and take on new
challenges, and they do this till the end
of their life. So for all of you
out there, my dear corporate professionals,
it's good to have a career plan. It's
good to have a retirement plan, but you
need to have a change in the mindset
today.
The mindset has to change today.
If you want to be successful in your
life, if you want to keep contributing productively
even after your retirement till the end of
your life, That mindset has to change today.
It cannot happen at the age of 60.
And at 60, you cannot train yourself to
take on new challenges every day. The challenges
that you start today.
Take on risks. There will be some risks
which will pay off. Some risks may not
pay off. But if they don't pay off,
let not the fear of loss hold you
back.
Look at your dream. Envision your dream in
front of you, and keep focusing towards being
successful in your life. Thank you so much
