with you alone It's about the creation, what

What have you done to the world?
So don't say Zakariya is selfish Why is
Zakariya saying I want someone to learn the

daughter educated And worships Allah They will benefit
in addition to the ones around them And

Allah says, it was the angels calling him

You will soon Have a baby boy Ghulam
is a baby boy Walad Can be male
or female Are you guys with me?
Ghulam is boy Walad can be male or
female So Maryam a.s. When she was
pregnant She didn't say, Ya Allah how can
I have a boy She said, how can
I have a kid regardless of a gender
You guys with me?
But with Zakariya Allah clearly says Ghulam And
Allah, the angel says, Ya Zakariya Allah named
him for you So there's no more drawing
lots Like what's the name on paper Whatever
some of us do Ismuhu Yahya Lam naj
'al lahu min qablu samiya This is a
name, his name is Yahya No human being
was ever named Yahya before.
Yahya means what?
Give me like a derivative of that word
Yahya Hay which means what?
Life Right?
Life, Yahya Some ulama said Perhaps Allah chose
Yahya Because he will Yahyi alqulub almayita He
will bring back Life to the hearts that
are dead This is how you become optimistic
Yahya Can be the one who will always
be alive How is that?
Go ahead Oh his remembrance That people continue

before But that sounds so great Wal dhikr
al hasan Umrun thani Good mentioning is an
extension To your life, good remembrance May Allah
grant you that dhikr al hasan Excellent in
your family So Yahya It's good news that
your son Will be a shaheed, a martyr
And a shaheed, a martyr Ahya'un indallahi
yurzaqun They will always be alive With Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala And another possible Hay
Is because his heart Will always be alive

In a good name for our children You
have to invest in that Because this is
tafa'ul, this is good optimism Why did

you all like Maryam And Yahya Allah says
in the Quran Four qualities about him, ready?

Allah sent down, amazing Allahu akbar, and he
will believe in The word of Allah, what's

We might know at the end of the

modest The ulama, they say hasura Means someone
who never Ever falls into temptation Of haram,
Allahu akbar, may Allah make Our brothers and

one hadith That's authentic, it says how Yahya
a.s. never Committed ever such sin Of
that sword that is haram, fitna of Desires,
Allahu akbar Wa hasura, then the last one
What's the best thing Allah can give?
Nabiya, and he's a Prophet, so Allah's telling
him That you will soon Have a child
What was Zakariya's response?
How happy Were you ever at one point
in life?
Remember the happiest point in life?
What happens when you get something That you
always dreamt of That was so hard to
achieve, what do you usually say?
No way!
You got it, but no way!
No, is it right?
No way, and that's what he actually Said,
he says ya Allah How can I have
a son When I'm very old?
You've been making dua for decades And my
wife is Barren, like I don't have just
one problem I got two I am old
And my wife was never able to get
pregnant And you have to respect something, I
have to respect something He didn't He didn't
just keep blaming his wife the whole time
Did you guys see that?
He's like, I'm old, I'm old And also
my wife is barren But you want something
even more Amazing?
Yes?
In this ayah He says, ya Allah I
am old And my wife is barren Surah
Ali Imran Go to the other surah He
says, my wife is barren And I am
old What does it mean?
No one is responsible Over this Not a
husband, not a wife Not a father, not
a mother Not a girl, not a boy
Allah gives whoever He wants Allah gave the
worst Living beings kids, yes?
And Allah did not Give kids to the
best human beings As we know with Zakariya
For the longest time, no children So you
do not blame Any of the partners about
that It's a discussion you may have, respectfully
According to this, can I do that?
You come to a discussion May Allah bless
all marriages We're not causing problems But we
don't want to point fingers in a negative
way That's my main criteria Do not blame
the people Because this has to do with

Surah Maryam Allah gives a different answer Allah
gives a different answer So Allah says, I
do whatever I want to do I don't
want to sound like a mean way When
we say that, it sounds rude I do
whatever I want to do Allah Jalla Jalaluhu,
the best example He says, I do whatever
I will Nothing is an obstacle upon me
Like you can say, I'm old, my wife
cannot be pregnant Doctors said that, I took
medication Allah says, if I want something to
happen It happens You see how we got
that So Allah says, كذلك الله يفعل ما
يشاء And Allah says in Surah Maryam هو
عليّ أيش هيّ Allah says, that was easy
When you hear that How can you give
up on Allah?
The world tells you Impossible, you cannot You're
just a man, you're just a woman You're
this, you're that Allah tells Zakariya, that was
easy هو عليّ هيّ Nothing You know what
Allah tells him?
Why are you surprised Zakariya?
وقد خلقتك من قبل ولم تك شيئا If
this is what Is mind boggling Then remember
you came From nothing Like now you came
from A father and a mother Yahya came
from a father and a mother, very old
age Your existence came from No mother or
father Adam عليه السلام came from nothing قال
كذلك الله يفعل ما يشاء And Zakariya asks
For a sign He's asking What today we
say A pregnancy test قال رب جعل لي
آية Like how can I know That my
wife is pregnant Right He's so excited I

don't say خلاص just wait 9 months Remember
when you were Expecting a child for the
parents here What happens The father comes like,

an ultrasound Wait 9 months, no no no
I'm so excited By the 7th one you're
like whatever May Allah protect us If you're

رَمْزَةَ Is that your sign is that you
will not Be able to speak You will
be mute To people for three days except

because the English In another ayah Allah says
you will not be able to speak To
50 people Three nights though you are سَوِيَّة
سَوِيَّة means you are healthy So Allah says
I will cause you To not be able
to speak For three days Like you want

speak without any cause Like you didn't have

of smell Because of COVID May Allah protect
us He lost the sense of talking Though

if he went to go check up there's
nothing wrong To show him And show Bani
Israel Just like how he was healthy And
I took it away He was unhealthy And
I gave him something Did you see that?
So then Allah says You will not be
able to speak for three days But you
still have to do Da'wah You still
have to copy the Prophet of Allah There's
no break If you know the truth there's
no break For those that know the truth
You go through gestures But what's the one
thing he can say I'm confused There's one
thing he can say Which is what?
واذكر ربك كثيرا وسبح بالعشي والإبكار واذكر ربك
كثيرا وسبح بالعشي والإبكار You can do dhikr

you succeed You celebrate with faith But we

To an extent to this When they succeed
When they graduate When they get married When
they have kids Some of them get wasted
We're the opposite As a Muslim When you
are successful When Eid comes Don't throw Ramadan
away And sin the first day When Eid
comes don't you go miss Fajr Intentionally You

for your wedding May Allah grant you all
a beautiful wedding You want to have a

Zakariya is expecting How did Zakariya know One
day he might come out Assalamu alaikum But
he can't say Right Then Allah says in
the Quran And you start going out to
the people And you start telling them Subhanallah
Allahu Akbar The question to you Why is
he telling them to do dhikr Now we
all understood Inshallah why he's saying it One
of the reasons is to show gratitude to
Allah But why should Bani Israel say that
Because The existence Of a scholar in their
city Is not just a blessing to Zakariya
To have a son It's a blessing to
the whole community So you too should say
dhikr Because a prophet is coming So you
should also be happy And Allah allows Eventually
to have Baby Yahya delivered Salamun alayhi yawma
Walid It was a very peaceful delivery Allah
saved the body of his mom Because she
was very very old And Yahya's growing Still
a kid, growing, growing, growing And check what
Allah Commands Yahya to do Ya Yahya khudhil
kitaba bi quwa That's the first command Yahya

He was one of the youngest prophets ever

Gym rat, and he's always in the gym
They're rats, may Allah protect us But really,

end Allah says Peace be upon Yahya When
he was born Peace be upon him When
he dies And peace be upon him when
he's resurrected Some ulama they said Because these
are the three scariest points In your life
The day you're born There's a lot of
fear Even today, even in hospitals The oxygen
Rotating around the neck And so on and
so forth Alhamdulillah we have a lot of
science today To help with C-section But
many times people used to die from this
May Allah bless all our mothers So peace
be upon him the day he died I
mean the day he was born And the
day he dies Because many people fear death
Even non-Muslims They say one of the
scariest things to people Is public speaking Along
with it is death Subhanallah And peace be
upon him The day he's raised back to

Because the day of resurrection As we know
from an authentic hadith The prophets say The
day of yawm al qiyamah Allah is so
angry He was never as angry Ever before
So Allah says For him, he will always
be in peace The last ayah To share

I want to ask you a question To

the fourth Non-stop, they go all over
the place Did Zakaria do that?

an obligation, I'll do everything I can To
complete it و يدعوننا رغبا و رهبا They
used to always make dua And did Zakaria

He's probably the best example Literally, I think
in the entire Quran Of someone who continuously
made dua For decades and decades And never
gave up You know what the prophet s
.a.w. says?
Allah will accept your dua As long as
you're not hasty That's what the prophet s
.a.w. said الله يقبل دعاء ما لم
يستعجل As long as you're not hasty So
the people say, what does hasty mean?
He says, a person says دعوت و دعوت
و دعوت I made dua, I made dua,
I made dua I never saw it happening
So he lets go of the dua And
he stops So this means If you continued
sometimes one more time Two more times, ten
more times You would have got it Just
a little bit more The last one و
كانوا لنا خاشعين And they were always humble
to Allah s.w.t Whatever Allah decrees
for them They were always accepting They made
dua to Allah for 17 years For this,
Allah did not give it Or Allah delayed
it الحمد لله خاشعين Always that's their case
And I remember I shared this with you
before I think many years ago Of a
brother who I used to see in another
city Walking to the masjid, he's a young
man Always walks to the masjid, blizzard, thunderstorm
He walks to the masjid Very inspiring, I'll
be honest And I used to see him,
so I used to park on the side
And say, come in, come in So I
used to drop him off at the masjid
I didn't bring him back to the school
To his house, doesn't have a bus pass
Or a bike Nothing, not even a scooter,
nothing He just walks A time came where
I stopped Seeing him in the masjid I
know his house So a week or two
passed and I went to his house Knocked
on the door And I was concerned about
him Because he's always first row MashaAllah, unless
when I'm picking him up Sometimes I delay
him But he's always there So I saw
him standing So I was like, alhamdulillah, I
didn't say alhamdulillah But I was happy because
he's fine So I told him, assalamu alaikum
He's like, what Do you want, he said
a bad word He said, what do you
want Now we know if someone says salam,
you have to reply back I said, I
came To check on you, I was thrown
off It was very weird I said, I
came to check on you He said, I'm
good Now move on in life He's about
to close the door I said, no, no,
no, no This is subjective, don't do what
I'm doing In my situation it was different
Some of you can push, some of you
cannot With him I pushed a bit I
said, no, I'm not going anywhere, relax I
just came to check on you He's like,
everything is fine, move on I said, I'm
not going anywhere Tell me what's the problem
And I'll do everything I can to help
you If I cannot help you, I'll say
I cannot help you It's as simple as
it sounds But there's no way I will
accept to leave you just like that Let
me take a shot at this, let me
try He's like, whatever, come with me He's
so upset We went down to the basement
What's your story?
He's like, listen, you know how dedicated I
am to the masjid I come no matter
how the weather is like He's like, there's
a blizzard, there's a thunderstorm No matter what
it is, I walk there I'm like, I'm
the one who picks you up, I know
exactly what you're talking about I testify to
that What's the problem He did this to
me He said, for the past nine months
I've been making all kinds of dua Not
a single one God gave me All kinds
of dua Whether marriage, or car, or scholarship
Or anything, anything Not one thing, out of
nine months Allah gave me what I want
Why should I worship him?
He dropped the ball completely Dropped salah, dropped
everything And this is the danger Of ibadah
without ilm Did you see what just happened
here?
There's a lot, some of you can think
of To say, I told him one thing
That came to my mind I said the
prophet s.a.w. says Whenever you make
dua to Allah s.w.t In one
hadith One of three things happen You ask
Allah for something Whatever it may be Ya
Allah, I want this, I want this I
want this person for marriage, I want this
scholarship Whatever it may be, you ask Allah
Allah will give you what you asked for
Option two, you asked Allah For this thing,
maybe for years and decades But Allah Did
not give it to you, what's option two?
Allah will block something That is going to
come to you, block?
I don't want it to block, I want
it to come I'm not talking the thing
that you want will be blocked You make
dua Allah will block a thing that you
do not Want to come towards you Remember
the first story I told you At the
beginning of the session?
The deer, mashallah, excellent When I was driving,
for those that came I was driving last
night At 70 some miles per hour And
a deer came right in front of me
Then Allah helped me By going a bit
to the left and going back And then
Alhamdulillah saved me I would have been dead
So this might have been Because of a
dua That I did when I was in
high school Ya Allah, I want this University
I never got the acceptance letter from that
university So I got accepted in McMaster University
Which is in Hamilton But I really wanted
Waterloo Which is in Ontario, it's one of
the best engineering schools in the entire province
But Allah did not Give that to me,
then I stayed locally And maybe that was
the blessing, you guys with me?
So that's option two You ask Allah for
something, Allah blocks a hardship The last option
is what?
You ask Allah for something, He does not
Give you what you asked for He does
not block a hardship That was coming your
way Option three Allah turns it to good
deeds Yawmul Qiyamah where you need it so
bad Imagine that was a dua That you're
about to go to * But because of
your dua Remember the whole Ashley situation?
You ask Allah to get married to Ashley
17 million times in high school That becomes
hasanat, you're about to go to * You
see that dua not being accepted But transformed
to good deeds And that's what saved you
Alhamdulillah The sahaba said We will never stop
making dua It's a win-win-win situation
And every time you make that dua A
hardship is blocked by the way And hasanat
are given It's not like one dua a
hundred times Only one reward, you guys with
me?
Every time you made that dua for a
righteous spouse Every single time If Allah didn't
give it to you now Allah will give
it to you later at a great scale
Or every time a hardship is stopped You
know how many times you were saved?
So the sahaba said we will not stop
The prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam Did not
say come on guys Don't be greedy, he
said Allah loves this attitude So I shared
that with the brother a little bit more
Alhamdulillah, and now he's back to the masjid
Committed by the help of Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala May Allah bless you May Allah
protect you May Allah preserve you If you
can, make tonight's dua A little bit special
Can we do that inshallah?
Just a little bit special And ask for
things That people may think you're crazy But
you tell them you're crazy But don't do
that Because I have Allah on my side
Because as Allah says That was easy Everything
is easy in Allah May Allah grant you
all that which you wish for That is
good for you And may Allah protect you
from every evil And may Allah raise your
ranks In this life and the afterlife It
