Lobna Mulla – Embracing Maryam’s RA Endeavor & Trust, The Power of Dua

So many,
years
to have a child,
And finally, when they found out that they
were going to have a child,
her husband passed away. SubhanAllah.
Just when she was, I think, a few
months pregnant.
And,
she had the intention of
dedicating this child to the service of Allah
Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala. Even though oh, we'll talk
about that.
She she had made a dedication, a nad,
to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala that she will
dedicate her child to the service of Allah.
And after her husband passed away, she didn't
go back on that oath. You know, she
would think to herself, and now I'm a
single mother, you know, I need to have
my child with me to help me, to
support me. She stayed strong in her commitments
to Allah. It was amazing.
What's also amazing, SubhanAllah,
is that
when,
when Hannah
delivered the child and she found out it
was a girl,
and she sent me that famous statement that
verily,
a boy a girl is not like a
boy. A boy is not like a girl.
So kind of a lot.
That
this was not a statement of, like, I
really wanted a boy, like, some people have
in their cultures. You know, boy and a
orphanian, some are a sign
The only reason why she made that statement
of surprise
is that according to Judaic law at the
time,
that it was only, men that were allowed
to be constantly staying in the temple to
be a servant of Allah. It was not
customary for girls to stay and worship in
the temple like a baby, dedicated to the
temple. This is why she made that statement.
And yet despite
being different from the norms,
she still continued with her oath.
Zakaria, her uncle, was a carpenter.
They had all drawn lots. Everybody wants to
kind of be the protector and the one
that's going to help raise Mariam in a
temple.
Zakaria was the one that that won, alhamdulillah.
And not only that because he was a
carpenter, he built for her and the heron,
a section where she was
and not only that because he was a
carpenter, he built for her and the heral,
a section within the temple where she can
worship the private.
So it's amazing, so kind of a lot,
and I think it's important to start the
story
with Dua.
The power of dua. The dua of the
mother who said, I dedicate this child to
you, You Allah.
And she also made the dua that Allah
would protect
her child and her progeny from the workings
of shaitan.
So it's a reminder to all of us
to
never underestimate the power of Dua. You say
it with full
knowledge
and full,
yakin, full certainty that Lutz Warn Palace will,
answer it in the way that he wants
to answer it.
For the sake of people in Gaza. And
I don't get it. The injustice is still
happening. The disinformation is still happening. The killing
is still happening. I don't get it. Don't
worry.
You are making an effort. You are making
the endeavor. You are making the striving,
and the rest is up to Allah
Subhanallah. He, in his full wisdom, knows
when and how and why.
All of the details of the outcome will
happen, but what's up to us to ensure
that our connection with Allah
is solid and our connection to Allah is
solid is to make that striving leave the
details up to Allah. That's truly, truly where,
trust comes into play. It's so hard to
see the difficult,
details in front of your eyes. Well, wait
a minute. We're keeping the line, and it's
it's getting worse. It's not that it's getting
better. I know there's been a temporary pause,
more good things will come out of it,
but it's hard. It's this story is so,
subhanallah,
you know, reflective of this. You don't see
with your eyes
the possibility of your dying to fruition, but
yet you still made it.
Hannah lost her husband, but she still made
the oath to dedicate her daughter,
and dedicate her child. She didn't know yet.
Dedicated her child to the service of Allah.
And then she found out as a daughter,
and this is opposite of the customs of
the time, and yet she still dedicated her
child to the temple. So this is an
important reminder for us. Don't look for the
how and why. You leave it up to
your creator. He created the world. He can
make your affairs work for you as well.
Don't worry about Allah Subhana. We'll take care
of it.
And as we know, the Hamdulillah,
Zakaria alayhi salam, he he or, Raguel yes.
I'm I'm not sure.
The the the honor to to say for
him, but, Alhamdulillah, he goes for her the
beharam. She was in there, and when he
would go and check up on her, subhanahu
wa'ala, and
he would find that there would be provision
that was out of the season. You know,
now we can get to a global economy.
We can get food set from Thailand. You
know, things that wouldn't normally grow for us
in the winter, we could get it in
places where it's currently summer and vice versa.
And when Zakari would enter the meharam, he
would find that Mariam, Alayhisam, would have fruits
and her wishing for her that was not
available in this season.
And and he was surprised as from where
did you get this? And Maryam,
she responds so beautiful.
She says,
She said it so confidently.
She said, it's from Allah, and surely Allah
provides for whoever he wills without limits. There's
no limits.
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala can do whatever he
wants, so why do we question it? Why
are we so impatient?
We are impatient as human beings. We have
to remember that we want something,
and we're asking for good things, but Allah
knows when the right time for us is.
So we have to have that patience. One
of the greatest qualities that can help us
get through calamis, Insha'Allah. So she said it
so wonderfully.
Well, guess what?
This du'a, or
this reflection that she had on Allah
truly inspired Zakaria, who he himself
did not have a child, and he was
old in age, he and his wife.
And this
confidence, this young
something that he really wanted, which was a
child. But he's passed childbearing years. His wife
has, passed childbearing years.
But this inspired him to make dua to
Allah to,
give him offspring in which he could inherit
the dua.
He was a man of Allah Subhanahu Wa
Ta'ala, and he wanted his children to to
to be able to take this,
dawah and move it forward to Padua. And
guess what happens? He makes dua, and then
the angels come to him and said, we're
we're blessed. We are coming to give you
glad tidings
of a son named Jahir,
John.
So Panawah, so amazing.
Again, the Lord for us never belittle,
the power of Dua. But that Dua has
to come willing to come with trust
and a certainty that Allah will answer it
in the way that he wishes to answer.
And just as a brief reminder, I know
you all know, but as a brief reminder,
answering a do I is not always coming
in the shape that we are asking.
So maybe I'm asking for
a job,
and I don't get that job. Okay? Or
maybe I'm going to get something different. So
that's one way. It's what you,
want it's not what you exactly what you
want and something different. Or I get exactly
what I want. Or it is going to
be a good deed for me on the
day of judgement.
And 4th, it can be that it blocks
something bad for you that was supposed to
happen. So Subhanu adovada can literally change your
color.
How do you know what the best outcome
is going to be? You know, I I
I hate to compare us to small children,
but you know small children that they don't
always have, you know, the the long term
wisdom and the logic that adults can have.
Right? To them, eating ice cream 12 o'clock
at night sounds like a good idea, or
watching a movie at midnight for 3 hours
is a good idea. But we know it's
not a good idea. So we're like, no.
And they said, well, hi. I need you.
You're the Venus mom ever and and so
on and so forth. And you're like, that's
okay.
So this story, subhanahu wa'ala, just brings that
up time and time again with him and
the mom, with Maryam the daughter, with Zakaria
and her uncle, and now
with the gift of his son, Jahir.
So beautiful,
reminder that she tells us that Allah provides
without limits. So just because we're not getting
what it is that we're seeking, it doesn't
mean that Allah's not capable. We never say
that.
It is just that it is not the
right time,
for us, inshallah, or it's not going to
happen in a way that we're necessarily wanting.
So we know that Mary Malayalam
was so righteous. She was so pious, and
she loved praying to Allah.
She was constantly in a state of dhikr
and prayer.
And when,
when
there came a time to pan along
when,
she felt that oh, I'm sorry. So
frequently during during the time of her month,
she would leave the masjid, and she would
reflect upon Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala and and
and
we engage in in remembrance of Allah Subhanahu
Wa Ta'ala outside of the masjid. And it
was at this time when she was in
seclusion outside of the masjid that Jibreel alaihis
salam comes to her in the form of
a man, a very handsome young man.
And he he approaches her, and she reminds
him, hey. Hey. I don't know what your
intentions are,
but fear Allah.
Fear Allah. Just in case there was going
to be, you know, there's any thoughts of
any impropriety, subhanAllah, that was her first and
foremost subhanAllah thought that came to her mind
that she wanted to be up and up
with Allah SubhanAllah. That there's here's a young
man. She's a beautiful young woman. I don't
know. It's in the middle of nowhere,
one of the intentions. And then he comes
and brings some glad tidings of Isa, a
little boy. And she says, how can this
be?
And
and the second Jabi'ah instead reminds her that
this is the will of Allah, and whatever
Allah wills, it will be it will be
decreed. So subhanAllah, as she started,
at the time we came closer, she did
remove herself
from went out of the city and moved
herself in a place that was, that there
wasn't people. And when it came time for
her to,
deliver,
the thought came to her mind. So and
I remember when I was younger, and I
read and I read this,
the AM,
that she says, I wish that I could
have died before this moment. I said, Dua,
it's obvious. It's because she's in pain, and
she's in so much pain. She wish she
could have died. It's the the pains of
labor. When the pains of labor had come,
this is when she had said it. And
she's leaning upon the palm tree when she
says it. SubhanAllah,
this is remembered. She's married with Imran, a
family that was engaged in Dawah. They were
righteous and pious people.
And what happens with righteous and pious people
in a society where people mock religion?
It's happening again, time and time again. We
find ourselves in this story, very similar situation,
that we are in a time when people
mock religion. Alhamdulillah, now things are shifting a
little bit. Wait a minute. The the the
faith of the Palestinians is moving people to
see, like, there's something there's something otherworldly about
these people. I wanna know what it is.
So
has its ways. But what I'm now, generally
speaking, I think the less has generally been
in a trend of moving away from religion.
I remember when I was in film school,
Dallas now it's been like 7 years since
I graduated, but I remember
the movies of the eighties would have a
lot of things of God in it. And
I remember when you would analyze those movies,
some people would mock, like, okay, can we
just stop talking about God now? They'd be
annoyed.
Know, we're just trying to have that godly
theme. He would be so annoyed that he
made a script just suffer a lot to
mock him up entirely in this short script
that we have as an assignment.
So in this world,
you know, the the stories reminded us in
Maria Anna Sarah's story
that when she said, I wish I could
have died before this moment,
she is worried about upholding the image of
piety, the image of the religious people, the
image of,
of following Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. How can
it be that this religious woman is not
going to have a child? Oh, really?
SubhanAllah Jibre alayhis
salam points out that Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala
has provided a screen. Remember, she's in the
desert.
So he has provided a screen for her
to nourish herself and to nourish the baby.
Right? And this is a blessing upon Allah
Subhanahu wa ta'ala. You know when we talk
about the blessings of water,
just being able to see water, to hear
the babbling of water, to be able to
shower with water, to drink with water. Water
is a huge blessing, and in this moment,
Allah provided
this running spring of water for Banihammad to
nourish herself and to nourish baby Lisa.
And then Musma'am
commands
her to shake the tree in the a
that brother Ahmed just read. To shake the
tree, it will fall from its the the
date's palm will fall from its,
dates for you.
You know what? This
this small section of the of the, of
the whole Surah is so powerful. Why?
For for for, for women who have gone
through this process, you know that getting up
and doing any physical exertion immediately after you've
just delivered a child is not easy. But
it looks like
is not easy. But Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala
is saying get up, and you make the
effort. You strive towards me, and I will
make it happen for you. This is a
huge lesson for us, that when we feel
helpless in our own personal situations,
financial, emotional, health, you know, maybe family members
are going astray, maybe people are being tested
with different things, and it's heavy on us.
Don't sit there and sit still. Do sit
there and sit still.
Do something.
Make that striving towards Allah See if there's
a path that you can take. See if
there's a way that you can seek justice.
See if there's a way that you can
change your situation so that it can improve.
And of course, turn to Allah
with full certainty that your situation can change.
Don't have a doubt, but how? Where is
the money gonna come from? Where is the
health gonna gonna come from? Where is the
guidance going to come from?
Allah said something really powerful,
in Surat Atalak where he says
that whoever has God consciousness, I worry.
God consciousness is what? I am aware of
what pleases Allah, and I try to do
it. And Allah's promising us in that Surah
I'm transitioning back to that Surah a lot,
that whoever has gone
conscious,
Allah will make a way out for you.
You're stuck in a situation, maybe your boss,
maybe you had a dip in your faith,
Allah will make a way out for you.
And guess what? The the the beautiful follow-up
to this ad,
that's not something that was top of mind
for her.
Al Faram al Alla is going to make
a way out for her, and it's going
to provide him a place he would have
never imagined.
That alisk, by the way, can be the
spouse. It could be the job. It could
be the health. It could be that sakena.
It could be that removal of the addiction.
It can be the removal
of the bad situation.
Don't ask where and how along. Don't say,
I don't know. That's because you're a human
being. You have limited mind, and you don't
have
the the knowledge of of of the *.
You don't have the knowledge of the unseen.
You don't have knowledge of the future, so
don't worry about it. You wait the line
and leave the rest to Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala.
So the beautiful thing is that here, Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala asks Mariam,
who just gave birth. It's a very physically
exhausting endeavor. She's in pain, and says, go
get out
and shake a palm tree. Make the striving.
You take one step, Ultron takes 10 steps
towards you.
This is a reminder of that. And and
what else about a palm tree? How many
of you have tried to shake a palm
tree?
She made the effort, Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala,
through her effort.
He lets the palm, the the dates fall,
and that was going to be nourishment. And
you know what's amazing about dates too? It
doesn't it's not just like high in carbohydrates
that is, you know, what's going to give
you initial nourishment. It's a lot of phytonutrients
in dates that are special,
particularly
in helping a woman who has just given
birth, not only to have contractions in her
uterus to help get her back into kind
of a stable homeostasis with her body, but
it also stimulates the production of milk. SubhanAllah.
Totally amazing.
And Allah SubhanAllah provided that for her in
this moment of
emotional and physical distress.
SubhanAllah. So she got nourished,
and now she's prepared to return to her
people, and Allah tells her to go back
to her people and to not say anything.
And not only that, she has to let
people know by gesture that she's not going
to talk. She's taking a fast of speech.
She's not going to talk. SubhanAllah.
This is very difficult now. Now remember, this
is a society in which religion was being
mocked.
She's an unwed,
to the knowledge of the people, an unwed
woman.
It's well known that her family is very
pious. So for her to go back with
a child in her arm, it's gonna raise
a lot of eyebrows.
It's going to raise a lot of eyebrows.
And yet, al Fazam al test her again
and says don't talk to anybody. Don't talk
to anybody.
So of course she goes with baby Isa
alaihis salaam in in in her arms,
and she goes
and she can't talk, so people are saying,
oh, what happened to you? Your parents are
really good. You're not we know of you
good things, Maria. What have you done? They're
asking her,
does she know what's gonna happen?
Allah Subhanahu is putting her in another difficult
situation, and she does not know what's gonna
happen. All she does is point that she
can't talk. She points to me to Issa,
and he speaks on her behalf. And says,
that verily I'm the servant of Allah Subhanahu
Wa Ta'ala. And SubhanAllah,
he, the baby who is not old enough
to speak
and of course, actually when she points to
the baby, they say, how can a baby,
speak when when he's told you, you're crazy.
Number
from this story that time and time and
time again in our personal minds and on
the world stage, when we see things with
our human eye, with our limited minds,
and we question sometimes, like, Yeah. Why aren't
you changing the situation? Why aren't you doing
something?
2 things, inshallah, as it's time of the
lesson,
comes to mind. Number 1, trust in Allah.
What you see is not what you get.
Where is the help gonna come from? Don't
worry about it. Allah is gonna take care
of it. But then the second big part
so one is trust.
You make the effort.
You make the effort. So maybe I'm not
able to take a class because I don't
have money, and I'm trying to do a
job. Maybe I'm not able to make any
steps, but at the very, very least,
if we can't change something with our mouth,
then we change it I'll start with our
hand, then we change it with our mouth,
and the least of the night is at
least changing it in our hearts. We ask
for the help.
That is still making an effort.
So never belittle
the the,
the the the act of seeking help from
Allah
and never belittle any change. Sometimes people will
walk you too. Oh, you think,
you know, just going for a walk is
gonna change your health? No need to run.
But that's walking is all you can do.
That's doing that physical change.
You waking up and telling. Oh, you think
you're 1 your 2 rockets have to hedge
or your 3 rockets have to hedge you.
You think it's gonna change what's happening in
Gaza? Yes. It will.
So I'll pause here in chatla and see
if, anyone has any questions in chatla.
We I think there's some card note cards
that are in the that are going to
be passed around, but also if any of
you feel free, if you wanna ask a
question,
imams, a lot of Muslim speakers have been,
you know, doing a lot of commentary on
on kind of how our faith could tie
into this situation. How many of you have
noticed at least a change in your understanding
of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala for the better?
And if you and if you, like, throughout
this struggle of Gaza, that you kind of
come to a better understanding, that's amazing. Does
it and if you don't feel that person
or nothing. Is there anything you wanna reflect
on that? What what was something what was
something that was said to you or understanding
that clicked, that made you wrap your head
around this horrific situation? Anybody wanna share?
Yes.
That is so beautiful.
Thank you for sharing a personal story. She
said she's struggling with Ijagu, but when she
saw that the women of Gaza were preparing
themselves going to sleep
that change that's absolutely beautiful.
And that's the amazing thing. So when Allah
Subhanallah
tests on people,
they are opportunities
for so many people to intervene, to make
dua for them, to reflect on themselves. Wait
a minute. What's my relationship? Am I my
grand? What would I do in their situation?
That with this one global event, how many
people are being affected? Those that die a
shavii going straight to heaven. Those family members
that have to suffer with the loss of
the shavii, they they're torn. They're joyous. Some
of them are very joyous, saying, I come
to your life. You made it to a
much better life. You're being,
nourished and taken care of in Jenna, but
they're struggling with their own sadness. That's a
test for them, and may that be the
test that brings them closer. There are those
that maybe haven't suffered immediate loss, but then
they're struggling with electricity, no water, and that
fear. Allah will
reward them for their patience and their struggle.
And then there's us who may have had
family members that are impacted, and we are
are sad, and we're trying to take our
privilege that we have in this country
to, and say, what can we do with
the ability that we have? What can we
do with the finances,
with the time, with the way that our
system is set up that we're able to
reach out and communicate to our leaders? We're
able to say, hey. We're not happy with
you. This party or that party or this
candidate or what. We have the ability to
do things, so Allah is also testing us.
Isn't it amazing that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
and his infinite wisdom and and his generosity
that
with something so atrocious as what's going on,
as you said, it's even looks horrible.
There there there are positive results, and Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala knows what the end of
it will be. But we take every opportunity
to say, how can I be better? What
can I do with Allah
has given me?
Yes?
I like it. Sorry. Go. So I I
had to stop
of,
you know,
you a such a state of word,
but that they were still saying, Alhamdulillah, it
drove him to start reading the Quran, and
it made him appreciate how Allah Subhanahu wa
Ta'ala is a destructive, giving purpose, and then
also speaking to him. He felt like somebody
is speaking to him. And I think that's
an amazing outcome too that for us Muslims,
I think a lot of us were sleeping.
In different ways, we were sleeping. And I
was wondering how long we got. And I
created a second care for Shave Reflection, and
then I think that is amazing. It's like,
we had this gift all along, Muslims.
We had this gift all along. Are you
appreciating it the way people are like, wow.
What is this? This is amazing. Oh my
god. It's talking about bees. It's talking about
the creation of the world. Like, these are
things I wanna smile about. People are saying
this, and we've had
Get more intentional about understanding Arabic or at
least the the the AS that you read
every day in prayer. It's a wake up
call for us and what a beautiful opportunity
for us to see the beauty of the
sun the way that non Muslims and some
reverts are seeing as they're coming as they're
coming into it through this comedy.
SubhanAllah.
Yes.
So one of the things that I
started to appreciate about, you know, making love
for the people in those things that,
for them in this world and the next.
So,
you know, just and the context when the
verse was revealed, you know, what the Muslims
were going through at that time. So putting
that all together, like, gives me immense amount
of hope.
Not that we stop praying for the end
of occupation and end of oppression,
but, you know, perhaps it is good that
it is, you know, that they are leaving
this world at a time that, you know,
maybe this is the best time for them
to leave this world. So
Absolutely.
Absolutely. Being able to see that in front
of your eyes, how that's so powerful. Absolutely.
Markeloff, you can have your love. Yes.
Good question. So,
exactly how you mentioned,
you know, you
you feel like you're helpless in a sense.
You know, you are she's not sure to
reach out to her congressman and congresswoman.
She's right to them, and she feels the
coolness from them and kind of, like, in
this insistence upon their stance. Right? Their position.
Like, we're right. So now I had a
simple experience. I was so happy, like, Pam
doing my duty. C. A. R. E. Sent
out a link, put a new zip code.
It's automatically gonna send messages to your representatives.
Right? Or come to the left. So I
got a response 2 weeks later, from one
of the congressmen, and and he oh, it
was a senator. Sorry. From one of the
congressmen,
and and he oh, it was a senator.
Sorry. He's a senator. And he rolled and
he said, you know, thank you for writing,
blah blah blah. And basically, it looked like
this. You know, this is we have to
stand inside digital. I asked him We have
to stand from the side of digital and
they have been all friends on him. I
hope he does. He asked
voice mail, letter is noted on what, you
know, bill that you want passed, what what
what situation that you're upset with or that
you want. They made a list,
and they'll say 20 people called to called
today for a lifeguard, 10 people called today
because of Islamophobia,
whatever it is. So you know what? Don't
feel like the immediate negative response, number 1,
is means it didn't work. Keep doing it.
So that's one thing. And that's on the
high level. Senator is a congresswoman and a
congressman. But also remember that as they always
say, politics is local.
If you can have an effect in your
neighborhood council, it's very easy to go for
neighborhood council. If you can have an impact
on your school district.
I met last night. One of the sisters
had started the Muslim Parent Association for Los
Angeles Unified School District
And we can make change in smaller ways.
Like I said, with your neighbors. You know,
my neighbor came to me. She's Jewish, and
she says, my my dad is from Israel,
and we lost family, but I just wanted
to come. And she bought this beautiful, like,
cactus. It was the the succulents. Not a
cactus. That sounds weird. Succulents. And she's like,
you know, we're we're still neighbors, and we're
And she's like, you know, we're we're still
neighbors, and we love you, and so on
and so forth. And then she came in
a week later and said she needed to
buy something. And she's like, I just wanna
let you know that, I tell my kids
that if there's ever an emergency, you're in
the house that they should want to.
And that was so touching to me, subhanAllah.
So the the humanity that we have, the
ability of the difference that we can make
locally with our neighbors, even educating family members,
or posting on WhatsApp, sending out, you know,
making the algorithms go up by posting things
on TikTok and Instagram and Facebook. Those are
important. There's a lot of things that we
can do. Just remember, sister, that we don't
always see the results. They may come back
with harshness, but by doing it,
I hope,
inshallah. I know this was about my brother,
but
I hope
that let's say that there was a ceasefire
and things go back to normal. Don't forget
that the husbands live in apartheid. Don't forget
that they're living in an open air prison.
Let's not go back to sleep about the
issue of Palestine
and about the issue of oppressed people everywhere.
This is a wake up call, and I
hope you stay awake that we don't go
back to sleep, Insha'Allah.
And remember, some of our efforts are gonna
look fruitless,
but it's making a difference. It's making noise.
It's making, like, oh, wait a minute. We
gotta be careful. We can't do this anymore
because enough people are gonna make noise. We
were sleeping. We weren't making enough noise, and
that's why,
governments and officials and so on and so
forth felt like they could take advantage and
just do what they're doing, and we're not
gonna say anything. So your voice makes a
difference. I wanted to kind of encourage you
and also also not to neglect the personal
that we can always do all of that
makes a difference.
Also reflecting
that even though this is a very terrible
situation,
that, it has this issue of oppression has
really united the Ummah, and that's a very
powerful thing. Absolutely. And I hope that the
Ummah that gets united doesn't
There's a lot of interests
in keeping Muslims weak as an Ummah,
psychologically and emotionally that we feel down. We
feel like we're weak. And I love what
the political analyst, whether, said
that it's actually
non Muslims and even,
politicians that are not even, siding with Muslims,
I wanna say their opponents maybe,
that they even feel that we have more
power than beating what we have. So realize
that you have a lot of power. It's
not only so kind of as citizens or
as people living in this country, but the
fact that your servants have a lot of
power, they have a lot more power than
even what you think that our enemies
think that we have. They are more worried
than you are looking like, oh, I can't
do much.
So don't let that psychological,
effect take over you and make you inactive
and make you feel like, I can't do
much. Everybody
within their own,
situation has the power to do something. So
it's like, well, truly a united force. Anyone
else? Yes?
Yes. Does that look like the sister had
mentioned? 2 positive, you know, things. I know
that Kamala Harris has said, okay. She has
an initiative where she wants to kind of
make sure that we're watching and and and
help me to prevent Islamophobia. So that's a
big deal. They're taking note. They're worried but
they're gonna start losing. And then the second
thing to remember that Black Friday is a
massive consumer,
supine run driven
opportunity, for peep for cons for,
companies to capitalize on people, you know, wanting
to buy things, but it's an opportunity for
Muslims to show their voice again,
to boycott those products, even to boy boycott
spending in general. If you don't need it,
don't buy it, to keep it on sale.
Right? So kind of like, and I hope
even though I am I was a big
fan of a particular coffee company, and I
no longer support it. So I hope that
you would join in not supporting companies like
Starbucks where they had,
they had penalized,
a particular a union that had promoted pro
Palestinian sentiments.
So it matters. You know, at the beginning,
like, it's my favorite drink. What's one drink?
No. But what everybody thinks that same way,
and I think the opposite, my my purchase
power is huge, guys. Every dollar that you
spend, where do you put it? And think
about this, wherever you don't spend, imagine if
you're spending it towards companies that do support
pro Palestinian cause, or there's a Muslim holding
company. Think of it that way. Even if
you think, what's my $1 not going here
gonna make a difference? It's not going there,
but now it's going to,
an organization that does support Palestine. So that's
an important way to look at it. Remember
that there's so many ways to search. So
it's not only politics,
but local,
work that you're doing, spreading the word, your
own,
and also how you spread your money. Yes.
Yes. Yes. If you go to, any
excuse me. BDS website. BDS.
Boycott divestment sanction.
And I think if you just kinda put
boycott anywhere,
inshallah, today there's going to be a session
in exhibit hall B.
