SubhanAllah.
You know, the most important thing that you
can walk out of Ramadan,
perhaps some say taqwa, some say gratefulness,
but the prize that Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
always reminds us of is the forgiveness
that He has prepared for us.
Allah Subhanahu
Wa
Ta'ala
says,
Rush towards the forgiveness of Allah Subhanahu Wa
Ta'ala. Rush towards it. And Aisha of Jallahu
Anand, he says, O Messenger of Allah, if
we were to come across the greatest night
of the year,
If we were to catch that night, what
shall we say? What's give us the most
concise thing to ask Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala?
He says, Aisha
say, If you can say this, oh Allah,
you love to pardon, so pardon us. And
forgiveness
is the highest form of forgiveness.
And I want you to understand how important
it is because you must truly believe
that the forgiveness of Allah is the most
valuable thing here.
If you don't believe, you won't move
the way you should when it comes to
seeking that forgiveness.
Just to give you an idea how valuable
tawbah and forgiveness is.
Quraysh came to the prophet sallallahu alaihi wa
sallam. In the hadith, it says,
and they said,
make for us the mountain of Safa turn
into gold.
They wanted a miracle like the miracle of
Salih, like the miracle of Musa, like the
miracle of Isa. They received miracles as a
testament of their prophecy, and they said, we
too want to see a miracle from you.
They were just saying a thing, and it
is not from the etiquettes of the believer
to just say something you're not intending. This
is from the etiquettes of the disbelievers. Allah
Subha'ahu Wa Ta'ala says,
Don't say that which you don't intend to
do. Be truthful.
They were not truthful, but they just wanted
the miracle. So Jibril alaihis salam
comes down after the prophet
lifts his hand up. Because to the prophet,
if that was the only thing that they
needed to believe, then he would do it
because his main mission was to
save the people.
And so he made this dua and Jibril
came down and the first thing Jibril says,
That Allah is sending upon you, his salam.
The respect that Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala has
for the prophet Muhammad salallahu alayhi wa sallam.
And as believers we should follow suit in
sending the peace and blessings upon him.
After this, Jibril says,
that Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala is
saying, If you want, I will make the
mountain of Safa turn into gold.
But if they believe disbelieve after this, after
this clear miracle,
then I will punish them like I've never
punished anyone before because there's no more test.
It's been made clear upon you. So there's
no more chances for you to keep disobeying
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, to keep,
disbelieving in him.
And so he says we're in shit, and
he gave him another option.
We will have opened for you, we can
have opened for you
the door of Tawbah and Rahama.
The door of coming back to Allah
and the door of mercy.
So the prophet shalallahu alaihi wa sallam understood
that we are human beings and every son
of Adam is a khatah.
And the best of those who make mistakes
are the ones who keep turning back to
Allah because Allah loves
He loves those that continuously come back, and
you can't come back unless you veer off.
But the beauty of Allah is
that he doesn't allow you to start over.
You know when you're driving in your car,
and you have the GPS in front of
you, you have the manual, we have the
Quran. We know what's right, what's wrong. We
know the guidance of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
and the sunnah of the Messenger
We're driving, and we have the manual, we
have the GPS,
but then we get distracted from the dunya.
We look to the side, we misinterpret, it
happens all the time.
No one can say that they're perfect.
Everyone gets lost even with a GPS.
So what happens when you get lost?
The GPS just recalculates
you from where you were.
You don't have to start from your original
destination.
You just recalculate
and move forward.
And that is the beauty of the door
of tawba being always opened for you.
That you don't have to start from the
beginning. Allah
is ready and prepared
to meet you where you are. As long
as you turn back wherever you may be,
wherever your face turned,
it always will turn because you're a human
being that's distracted
by the glitz and glamour of this dunya.
And sometimes it takes you longer than you
expected.
But Allah is prepared and ready.
So long as you are ready
to accept your turning back. And this is
the beauty of what Adam
He didn't know what to do after he
disobeyed Allah. He went from talking to Allah,
then Allah sent him down upon this dunya.
He went from getting From talking to Allah
to getting revelation.
He went from a jannah being close to
the throne of Allah to the lowest part.
The human earth that we live in today.
The earth that we live in today.
Then Allah taught him something. What did He
teach him?
He taught him tawba,
how to return back to him.
And this is the beauty
of our everyday life, is that no matter
where we are in life, how far or
close we are to Allah, we can always
turn back to him.
You know, let us look at some of
the great stories of our history,
and to just to see how value how
much value they put into forgiveness of Allah.
You know that story with the magicians and
pharaoh? We all know that story.
And you may think to yourself that the
biggest miracle of that day is a staff,
a stick falling to the ground, transforming its
properties, and turning into something that it doesn't
usually
turn to.
That must have been the biggest miracle of
that story.
But what if I told you there was
something else
that changed,
that was more valuable to Allah than that
stick?
What if I told you, if you look
back in that story,
if you remember what happened,
the magicians
fell to the ground
and turned from being the worst of people
to the best of people in a few
seconds.
Isn't that a biggest miracle?
Isn't that worth more to Allah? Because the
prophet he informed us. He says when he
was making tawaf in the hadith of Ibn
Majah, he says that I know you are
sacred.
He says to the Kaaba, how
amazing and grand is your sacredness?
But then he says, but I know and
he swore
that the sacredness of the human being, the
believer of Allah, the mumin,
is worth more than the sacredness of the
Kaaba.
And so these objects were just used to
save the people.
So when they turned from being the worst
of society, magicians and sorcerers, you know, as
you know, magic is engulfed in kuf. It's
the worst form. You're dealing with devils. You're
dealing with the jinn. The worst of people
in just a few seconds
became the best of people.
And they died shuhada. They died martyrs.
And pharaoh tried to threaten them using the
most,
fiercest of words.
He says, I will chop off your limbs
from opposite ends
so you could see who is more severe
in punishment.
And they said,
It will not harm us. We witnessed the
power and might of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
We witnessed His mercy sending Musa to save
us.
We hope that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala that
He will forgive our sins.
They understood
that the forgiveness was worth more than any
loss of life.
Because Allah has much fadl when He gives
an opportunity.
There is fuddle worth more
and more lasting
than the thing you will lose.
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala Surat Al Baqarah He
tells us He tells us about a group
of people. They were afraid to die.
Did you see the people who left their
town in the 1,000 fearing death?
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says to them, die.
Then he brought them back to life.
That Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala when he gives
opportunities for you to get the forgiveness,
look at them as opportunities.
Sometimes we go through tests, through trials, But,
wallahi, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, if you are
believer, it's only designed to make you better,
to purify you. So that you can come
to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala in the most
pure states.
Because Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is
is pure.
And He doesn't accept except that which is
pure. He wants a certain
heart to come to Him.
A sound heart.
And sometimes
arrogance seeps in our heart.
Sometimes the material things that we amass affect
this beautiful heart that Allah has designed for
us. And in order for it to be
revived again, to be resuscitated again, sometimes we
have to go through certain things. But that
is from Allah.
But if we only thought of it as
faq, if we only looked at things like
opportunities to gain the forgiveness of Allah, we
would look at life differently.
We would we wouldn't complain about hardships.
We wouldn't complain about illnesses.
We would we would look at it from
a different perspective. The prophet once visited a
man. The man was sick with a fever.
He says,
Don't worry. It is a expiation.
If you look at it from that perspective,
it is a blessing.
It makes sense why some of the great
salaf used to be tried with the biggest
test, and they would say, Alhamdulillah. And it
wasn't a fake Alhamdulillah. It was a real
Alhamdulillah that stem from the heart. Because they
understood
that this is Allah
preparing me for something better.
Prepare me to meet him in the best
of states. I can't do this to myself.
I would have to be extremely disciplined to
hold myself accountable and push myself. Sometimes we're
not that, and Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala has
to put certain situations. Just like he put
the situation with Kaaba ibn Malik and the
3 who didn't go to Tabuk.
Allah created situations so that they can make
tawbah to him. How beautiful is that? At
the end, you will appreciate.
When you get to Jannah, in that pure
state, you will say, Alhamdulillah. I wish Allah
tested me more. Because for patience there is
an unlimited reward. For every action of reward
there is some. Salah, there's reward. Soul, there's
a reward with Allah Subha Ta'ala. But for
patience it's like unlimited.
It's like being poured on you.
And so the abdu will wish that on
the day of judgment he had more tests
so that his status could be elevated.
And this is, you'll see, that the great
sahaba of our time,
the great sahaba of the Prophet sallallahu alaihi
wa sallam's time,
all they did in life was see how
they can get the forgiveness of Allah. So
Haber Rumi, when he escaped Mecca to Madinah,
he had been a man who was,
made money, a businessman,
and he earned some money in Makkah.
And so some bandits chased after him and
they said, you're not going to leave with
the money you made here. He pulled out
his arrow and he said, You know how
good of a marksman I am. I will
kill you and I'll take you down with
me.
But I'll make a deal with you. What
is it that you want? They said, We
want your money. He said, If I tell
you, would you leave me alone? They said,
Yes.
So he told them my money is here
and here and just And gave him the
instruction where his wealth was. They left him,
and this left him with nothing.
So he came to Medina. He ended up
in Medina to be with the prophet and
the companions,
and to receive the forgiveness of Allah Subhanahu
Wa Ta'ala, and to get rid of everything
that was in the way of him and
the forgiveness of Allah. And once the Prophet
he saw him, he says, Rabbi albayyah abi
Yahya.
What a profitable trade you've made, O Abu
Yahya. He knew already the prophet
He said you made a great deal, O
Abu Yahya.
Even though you lost
what appeared to be of the loss of
the dunya,
you've gained so much in return.
And that's how we have to think. When
we lose, do we really lose? As long
as you have your iman,
as long as you're not wavering in your
relationship with Allah, and as long as you
have gotten the forgiveness of Allah,
then did you really lose?
You have made a profitable trade. And we
will talk insha'Allah after the break about another
Sahabi who made a profitable trade.
An orphan came complaining to the prophet
He says, I have this one tree that
I need in order to
to close off the property that my parents
left me,
but this tree belonged to someone else.
So the prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam
defending the orphan or coming to the aid
of the orphan, he called the man that
owned the tree
and he asked the man,
could he give it to him or could
he sell it to him?
The man refused. He was attached to this
tree, and he felt that it was his
right.
So he says, no, oh Messenger of Allah.
So then the Messenger of Allah said, what
if I offer you a Jannah like it
in a tree in Jannah like it?
A trade. This tree in Dunya and I
will ask Allah Subha Ta'ala to give you
a tree in Jannah like it.
The man refused.
Abu Dhadah was listening close by.
A man that was moved by the speech
of Rasool Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
A man that all he wanted to get
was the forgiveness of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
He comes to the prophet he says is
that deal still on the table for me?
So the Prophet SAWHAN and he says of
course.
So the man
was approached by Abu Daha. Abu Daha came
to him and he said I'm going to
give you my whole Jannah, my whole garden
that I own
In it is over 600 trees, and everyone
knew about Abu Dada'as Bustan,
his place, his garden. Every it was a
famous garden. He was one of the wealthy
men of Medina.
And so
the man couldn't believe what he was offering.
He didn't understand how a true believer thinks,
that this dunya is nothing.
If I could get only the guarantee of
Jannah from the Prophet
The guarantee forgiveness of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
So the man said, you will give me
all of your garden for my one tree.
Abu Dhadah said yes.
He made everyone witness in the transaction, it
happened.
And Abu Dhadah came to the Prophet
in Jannah right now for Abu Daghda? And
the is the part where the dates are.
That main part. How many of those beautiful
luscious trees in Jannah for Abu Daghda? Abu
Daghda left. He hurried home. He was so
happy with the news that he got guaranteed
jannah. Just like the Ashar Muba Shirin, they
were guaranteed jannah while still being alive. So
he called out from outside the garden to
his wife and he says, oh, umudahdah,
come out of the garden.
She said, why? What happened?
He said, I have sold it to Allah
and His Messenger.
And look what the wife said. She didn't
say, What did you do?
You've put us in ruins.
The wife wanted the forgiveness too. She says,
What a wonderful trade and profitable trade O
Abu Dhabi. She took the children, came out
of the garden, and it was sold to
Allah and His Messenger.
But that's not the best part of the
story.
The best part of the story is in
in Uhud,
when the battle was so intense and so
fierce,
that the Prophet had to call people to
defend him. He was at the brink of
death. They had surrounded him, and it was
only him and 2 other people.
And so the Prophet says, who is there
to defend me?
Few men came and they gave up their
lives
to defend the Prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam.
When the smoke was cleared
and the Prophet is looking for the bodies,
who came to defend me? So that I
can make a special dua for them.
And one of those bodies was Abu Dhadah,
the same man
that was guaranteed Jannah and gave up all
his possessions for Allah
Why did he go further
and give up his life?
He wanted to complete
his pledge to Allah. Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
in the Quran, he says, In Allah
Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, He says in the Quran,
he has purchased from the believers their lives
and their wealth
in return for Jannah. And
wanted to fulfill that to the best.
And another ayah where Allah says,
And there are those who sell themselves
for the pleasure of Allah. They give up
everything they have. They feel like it's never
enough. I have to continuously make istighfar. I
have to continuously make tawba until death comes
to me.
They're always in a state
of, I want to be pure,
so that I can meet Allah
in the most purest of forms.
And you see this continuously throughout the seerah.
The woman who committed zina, she came to
the prophet
I have committed zina. He says, go back.
Deliver the baby. She was pregnant. He says,
deliver the baby. She went, delivered the baby
9 months later, comes back.
He says, go back and breastfeed the baby.
So she goes back 2 years,
and she comes back
until he had no choice but to
inflict the punishment of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
These are people who didn't take forgiveness lightly.
They looked at it as the most precious
thing in this dunya. That if Allah forgives
me and I die on that state,
then Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will give me
until I am pleased. And anything that I've
lost in this dunya is not a loss.
Allah will replace it. Allah will replace it.
We ask Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala to give
us good in this world and in the
hereafter and to protect us from the fire.
We ask Allah to heal our sick and
to have mercy upon our dead.
