00:00:46 --> 00:00:48
			In the name of Allah, the gracious, the

00:00:48 --> 00:00:49
			merciful,

00:00:50 --> 00:00:52
			all praise is due to Allah, the Lord

00:00:52 --> 00:00:54
			of the universe, the master of the day

00:00:54 --> 00:00:55
			of judgement.

00:00:56 --> 00:00:59
			I bear witness and testimony to the oneness

00:00:59 --> 00:00:59
			of Allah,

00:01:00 --> 00:01:03
			to his magnificence, his omnipotence, his might, his

00:01:03 --> 00:01:04
			glory.

00:01:05 --> 00:01:07
			To his being the creator and sustainer of

00:01:07 --> 00:01:08
			all things,

00:01:09 --> 00:01:10
			the giver of life,

00:01:10 --> 00:01:11
			the guider of hearts,

00:01:12 --> 00:01:13
			the master of the day of judgment.

00:01:14 --> 00:01:16
			And I bear witness to the fact that

00:01:16 --> 00:01:17
			Muhammad ibn Abdulla

00:01:18 --> 00:01:19
			Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam

00:01:20 --> 00:01:22
			is his servant and final messenger.

00:01:22 --> 00:01:24
			May the peace and blessings of Allah be

00:01:24 --> 00:01:27
			upon him and upon all those who choose

00:01:27 --> 00:01:29
			to tread in his path until the last

00:01:29 --> 00:01:29
			day.

00:01:31 --> 00:01:33
			It is said that during the time of

00:01:33 --> 00:01:35
			the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam,

00:01:36 --> 00:01:38
			the prophet comes upon a woman who has

00:01:38 --> 00:01:40
			recently lost her husband.

00:01:41 --> 00:01:43
			That this woman, she has lost her husband

00:01:43 --> 00:01:45
			and she is so distraught, she is so

00:01:45 --> 00:01:48
			overcome with anguish that when the beloved of

00:01:48 --> 00:01:51
			Allah alaihis salam finds her in this state

00:01:51 --> 00:01:54
			and seeks to console her, she lashes out

00:01:54 --> 00:01:56
			at him and says, you do not know

00:01:56 --> 00:01:58
			what I am going through.

00:01:58 --> 00:01:59
			And the prophet

00:02:00 --> 00:02:02
			hearing these words from this woman's voice, he

00:02:02 --> 00:02:05
			does not seek to engage her further in

00:02:05 --> 00:02:05
			conversation.

00:02:06 --> 00:02:08
			But he steps away knowing that this is

00:02:08 --> 00:02:10
			not a moment in which she will listen

00:02:10 --> 00:02:12
			to what he is saying.

00:02:12 --> 00:02:15
			And so when he is left, another companion

00:02:15 --> 00:02:17
			now says to this woman that, Do you

00:02:17 --> 00:02:19
			know who this was that you spoke to

00:02:19 --> 00:02:21
			in this manner? This was the messenger of

00:02:21 --> 00:02:22
			Allah.

00:02:23 --> 00:02:25
			And when the woman, she sees what she

00:02:25 --> 00:02:27
			has done, when she gains her senses again,

00:02:27 --> 00:02:30
			she now goes and seeks permission to speak

00:02:30 --> 00:02:32
			to the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam.

00:02:33 --> 00:02:35
			She seeks to apologize for her outburst at

00:02:35 --> 00:02:38
			that moment of anguish. She seeks to seek

00:02:38 --> 00:02:39
			his forgiveness

00:02:39 --> 00:02:41
			for what she had said to him. And

00:02:41 --> 00:02:42
			when the Prophet

00:02:43 --> 00:02:45
			sees her come and ask for this forgiveness,

00:02:46 --> 00:02:48
			he says to her that true patience comes

00:02:49 --> 00:02:51
			at the first sign of calamity.

00:02:51 --> 00:02:54
			That at that moment when you were so

00:02:54 --> 00:02:57
			stricken with grief and anxiety, when your emotions

00:02:57 --> 00:02:59
			have overtaken you to such an extent that

00:02:59 --> 00:03:01
			all you want to do is let out

00:03:01 --> 00:03:03
			a burst of anger,

00:03:03 --> 00:03:05
			at that point you will get to see

00:03:05 --> 00:03:07
			how truly patient you are.

00:03:08 --> 00:03:10
			And on a daily basis, on a regular

00:03:10 --> 00:03:13
			basis, you and I find ourselves in situations

00:03:13 --> 00:03:16
			where we are truly tested from this standpoint

00:03:17 --> 00:03:19
			And we are not passing these tests.

00:03:20 --> 00:03:22
			Did someone speaks to us in a manner

00:03:22 --> 00:03:24
			in which we do not approve of? Someone

00:03:24 --> 00:03:25
			looks at us in a way in which

00:03:25 --> 00:03:27
			we wonder why they have glared at us

00:03:27 --> 00:03:30
			in this manner. We see someone acting or

00:03:30 --> 00:03:32
			dressing or speaking in a way that we

00:03:32 --> 00:03:34
			believe is not the way that someone should

00:03:34 --> 00:03:36
			look, dress, speak or act. We let our

00:03:36 --> 00:03:39
			emotions overtake us and we do not understand

00:03:39 --> 00:03:40
			the repercussions

00:03:40 --> 00:03:42
			of those emotional outbursts.

00:03:43 --> 00:03:45
			Heart upon heart, we have left in a

00:03:45 --> 00:03:47
			way where people do not want to engage

00:03:47 --> 00:03:50
			us or speak or interact with us. All

00:03:50 --> 00:03:52
			we are doing is pushing people further and

00:03:52 --> 00:03:55
			further away because we do not know how

00:03:55 --> 00:03:56
			to be in control of ourselves.

00:03:57 --> 00:03:59
			Rather, we let ourselves control us.

00:04:00 --> 00:04:02
			And we see that this is not the

00:04:02 --> 00:04:05
			way that the prophet salallahu alaihi wasallam recommended

00:04:05 --> 00:04:06
			to his companions to be.

00:04:07 --> 00:04:08
			That he taught them and he

00:04:09 --> 00:04:12
			understand that the most assuredly from amongst your

00:04:12 --> 00:04:15
			physical self, your emotional self and your spiritual

00:04:15 --> 00:04:18
			self, you saw an interaction that needed to

00:04:18 --> 00:04:21
			be one where there was harmony, not separation.

00:04:22 --> 00:04:24
			And if any of these parts of your

00:04:24 --> 00:04:26
			identity were things that were going astray,

00:04:26 --> 00:04:29
			most assuredly the others would feel the ill

00:04:29 --> 00:04:30
			effect of it.

00:04:30 --> 00:04:32
			Then in the hadith of Prophet

00:04:33 --> 00:04:35
			he tells us that the strong believer is

00:04:35 --> 00:04:37
			not he who can wrestle 1 to the

00:04:37 --> 00:04:39
			ground, but the strong believer is he who

00:04:39 --> 00:04:41
			can control himself

00:04:41 --> 00:04:43
			at that moment of emotion, at that moment

00:04:43 --> 00:04:46
			of anguish, at that moment of anger.

00:04:47 --> 00:04:48
			But when we are tested in that way,

00:04:48 --> 00:04:50
			how do we respond?

00:04:50 --> 00:04:52
			During the time of the prophet

00:04:53 --> 00:04:55
			it is said that the Muslimeen, they had

00:04:55 --> 00:04:57
			lined up in their ranks to take on

00:04:57 --> 00:04:58
			the opposition, the mushrikeen.

00:04:59 --> 00:05:01
			That they were lined up now in battle

00:05:01 --> 00:05:04
			and as they were standing face to face,

00:05:04 --> 00:05:05
			the mushrikeen,

00:05:05 --> 00:05:07
			they sent forth one of their best soldiers,

00:05:07 --> 00:05:09
			a man by the name of Amr ibn

00:05:09 --> 00:05:10
			Abdouwoud.

00:05:11 --> 00:05:13
			That this man, Abdouwoud, it is said that

00:05:13 --> 00:05:15
			in that region he was somebody who had

00:05:15 --> 00:05:16
			a reputation

00:05:17 --> 00:05:19
			of never being beaten in combat.

00:05:20 --> 00:05:22
			That not only was this man never defeated

00:05:22 --> 00:05:25
			or beaten but no one had even brought

00:05:25 --> 00:05:27
			him down to his knees. He was truly

00:05:27 --> 00:05:30
			a massive man, a giant of a man.

00:05:30 --> 00:05:32
			And now he stands in front of the

00:05:32 --> 00:05:35
			Muslim army and he begins to taunt and

00:05:35 --> 00:05:36
			mock them.

00:05:36 --> 00:05:38
			That where are the men amongst you who

00:05:38 --> 00:05:40
			say that when they fall in this battle,

00:05:41 --> 00:05:43
			paradise will be given to them?

00:05:43 --> 00:05:45
			Where are those men who say that if

00:05:45 --> 00:05:47
			they follow this religion,

00:05:47 --> 00:05:49
			they will be given Jannah?

00:05:50 --> 00:05:52
			And And Ali ibn Abi Talib, he hears

00:05:52 --> 00:05:54
			these words and he goes to the Prophet

00:05:54 --> 00:05:57
			alaihis salaam saying, You Rasool Allah, let me

00:05:57 --> 00:05:59
			go and take this man on in battle.

00:06:00 --> 00:06:03
			And the Prophet Alaihi Wasallam says, Ali, this

00:06:03 --> 00:06:05
			is Abu Dawood, you cannot beat him, step

00:06:05 --> 00:06:06
			back.

00:06:06 --> 00:06:08
			And the second time now, the taunts come

00:06:08 --> 00:06:11
			forward, a third time now coming from this

00:06:11 --> 00:06:13
			man, Abu Wood's mouth that where is that

00:06:13 --> 00:06:16
			man, Mohammed, who claims to be a prophet?

00:06:16 --> 00:06:18
			Where is that man who claims to be

00:06:18 --> 00:06:18
			a messenger

00:06:25 --> 00:06:27
			radiAllahu anhu goes to the prophet

00:06:28 --> 00:06:30
			seeking to go and take this man and

00:06:30 --> 00:06:31
			the Prophet

00:06:32 --> 00:06:34
			It is said he sees something in the

00:06:34 --> 00:06:35
			face of Ali.

00:06:35 --> 00:06:37
			And so, it is said, he takes his

00:06:37 --> 00:06:39
			own turban from his head and puts it

00:06:39 --> 00:06:41
			on top of the head of Ali radiAllahu

00:06:41 --> 00:06:43
			ta'ala An, gives him his sword and he

00:06:43 --> 00:06:45
			sends him out to fight this man, Abu

00:06:45 --> 00:06:46
			Dawood.

00:06:47 --> 00:06:49
			And Abu Dawood, it is said that he

00:06:49 --> 00:06:51
			knows Ali because he is a friend of

00:06:51 --> 00:06:52
			Ali's father.

00:06:52 --> 00:06:54
			And Ali when he approaches him now, he

00:06:54 --> 00:06:56
			says to him, You Abu Dawood, I am

00:06:56 --> 00:06:59
			of the understanding that if somebody gives to

00:06:59 --> 00:07:00
			you 2 proposals,

00:07:01 --> 00:07:02
			you will accept one of them.

00:07:03 --> 00:07:05
			And He says, Yes, this is what it

00:07:05 --> 00:07:05
			is.

00:07:06 --> 00:07:08
			And so He says that, I will give

00:07:08 --> 00:07:10
			you the option that you leave me and

00:07:10 --> 00:07:13
			my people alone. Leave us alone and let

00:07:13 --> 00:07:15
			us worship as the way that we would

00:07:15 --> 00:07:16
			want to be worshiping.

00:07:17 --> 00:07:19
			And he says that I cannot do this.

00:07:20 --> 00:07:22
			And then Ali says, Then the second proposal

00:07:22 --> 00:07:24
			I give to you is that you fight

00:07:24 --> 00:07:25
			with me now.

00:07:26 --> 00:07:29
			And Abu Dawood says, Yeah, ibn Nahi, O

00:07:29 --> 00:07:31
			son of my brother, I have no desire

00:07:31 --> 00:07:32
			to fight you.

00:07:32 --> 00:07:34
			And Ali ibn Abi Talib

00:07:35 --> 00:07:36
			he says, But I have a desire to

00:07:36 --> 00:07:37
			fight with you.

00:07:38 --> 00:07:40
			And they begin to fight now this giant

00:07:40 --> 00:07:43
			of a man striking at Ali radiAllahu anhu

00:07:43 --> 00:07:45
			with everything that he has

00:07:45 --> 00:07:48
			and to his astonishment with every blow this

00:07:48 --> 00:07:50
			man Ali who was less of him in

00:07:50 --> 00:07:52
			his physical stature, he is able to move

00:07:52 --> 00:07:55
			here and there without any kind of pain

00:07:55 --> 00:07:56
			coming to him.

00:07:56 --> 00:07:58
			And now in the midst of it, it

00:07:58 --> 00:08:01
			is said that Ali Radiallahu An, he throws

00:08:01 --> 00:08:03
			his shield and his sword to the ground,

00:08:03 --> 00:08:06
			and he propels himself forward with his feet,

00:08:06 --> 00:08:08
			kicking up the wood in the chest. And

00:08:08 --> 00:08:10
			he brings this man who has never been

00:08:10 --> 00:08:13
			brought down to the ground, onto the ground,

00:08:13 --> 00:08:15
			and he straddles himself over him.

00:08:16 --> 00:08:19
			Standing over Abu Dawood now, Ali has his

00:08:19 --> 00:08:22
			sword unsheathed against the throat of this giant.

00:08:22 --> 00:08:25
			And he says to him again that leave

00:08:25 --> 00:08:27
			us alone and you will have your life.

00:08:28 --> 00:08:31
			And Abu Dawood, he's now thinking to himself

00:08:32 --> 00:08:34
			that if I was to leave this person

00:08:34 --> 00:08:36
			alone, if I was to give in,

00:08:36 --> 00:08:39
			everyone would know that I had been beaten

00:08:39 --> 00:08:41
			in this battle, his reputation was at

00:08:42 --> 00:08:44
			stake. But if I was not to give

00:08:44 --> 00:08:47
			in, if I was not to submit, then

00:08:47 --> 00:08:49
			I will still be known as somebody with

00:08:49 --> 00:08:50
			this reputation.

00:08:51 --> 00:08:54
			So as Ali is now standing over him

00:08:54 --> 00:08:56
			with his sword against his neck, it is

00:08:56 --> 00:08:59
			said this man, Abu Dawood gathers all of

00:08:59 --> 00:09:01
			the spit that is in his mouth.

00:09:01 --> 00:09:03
			And as he is now there with his

00:09:03 --> 00:09:06
			neck under the knife of Ali, he takes

00:09:06 --> 00:09:08
			all of this spit and he spits in

00:09:08 --> 00:09:09
			the face of Ali

00:09:11 --> 00:09:13
			and he waits now for that fatal blow

00:09:13 --> 00:09:14
			to be delivered.

00:09:15 --> 00:09:18
			And to his surprise, Ali ibn Abi Talib

00:09:18 --> 00:09:20
			stands up and walks away.

00:09:21 --> 00:09:23
			And Abu Dawood says, where is it that

00:09:23 --> 00:09:24
			you are going?

00:09:24 --> 00:09:26
			And Ali says that if I was to

00:09:26 --> 00:09:29
			take your life right now, it would be

00:09:29 --> 00:09:31
			out of my own anger. It would be

00:09:31 --> 00:09:34
			me seeking my own vengeance and not for

00:09:34 --> 00:09:35
			the sake of Allah

00:09:37 --> 00:09:40
			A strong believer is not he who can

00:09:40 --> 00:09:42
			wrestle 1 to the ground, but a strong

00:09:42 --> 00:09:45
			believer is he who can control himself at

00:09:45 --> 00:09:46
			a moment of emotion.

00:09:47 --> 00:09:50
			Here Ali radhiallahu ta'ala an is epitomizing this

00:09:50 --> 00:09:53
			hadith from us and we have to ask

00:09:53 --> 00:09:53
			ourselves

00:09:53 --> 00:09:55
			if we can follow suit.

00:10:48 --> 00:10:51
			On a daily basis we find ourselves in

00:10:51 --> 00:10:51
			a situation

00:10:52 --> 00:10:52
			where opportunity

00:10:53 --> 00:10:55
			arises for us to exert mercy or to

00:10:55 --> 00:10:57
			exert something else.

00:10:58 --> 00:11:00
			People they will wrong us but we see

00:11:00 --> 00:11:01
			the beloved of Allah

00:11:02 --> 00:11:04
			he was not a man who sought justice

00:11:04 --> 00:11:06
			for himself, but he sought to act justly

00:11:06 --> 00:11:08
			with the people who were around him.

00:11:09 --> 00:11:12
			This was a man who epitomized for us

00:11:12 --> 00:11:14
			an understanding of rahma something that we have

00:11:14 --> 00:11:17
			forgotten. His very sending to this world was

00:11:17 --> 00:11:20
			somebody who was a mercy for the entire

00:11:20 --> 00:11:20
			of humanity.

00:11:22 --> 00:11:24
			But when somebody challenges us or we perceive

00:11:24 --> 00:11:26
			that they have wronged us, We cut them

00:11:26 --> 00:11:28
			off in ways that we should not be

00:11:28 --> 00:11:29
			cutting them off.

00:11:30 --> 00:11:32
			You spoke to me in a manner that

00:11:32 --> 00:11:34
			I did not think was befitting of the

00:11:34 --> 00:11:36
			likes of me. I will not speak to

00:11:36 --> 00:11:37
			you ever

00:11:38 --> 00:11:39
			again. You looked at me in a way

00:11:39 --> 00:11:41
			that you should not ever dare to look

00:11:41 --> 00:11:43
			at me. Who are you to think of

00:11:43 --> 00:11:46
			me in this way? What are we actually

00:11:46 --> 00:11:47
			thinking of ourselves?

00:11:49 --> 00:11:50
			The mission of the Prophet

00:11:51 --> 00:11:54
			was to bring hearts together, not to push

00:11:54 --> 00:11:54
			people away.

00:11:55 --> 00:11:58
			Even those of Mecca who sought to push

00:11:58 --> 00:11:59
			him out of the society,

00:12:00 --> 00:12:02
			those who beat his companions,

00:12:02 --> 00:12:05
			abused them, boycotted them, even killed them. The

00:12:05 --> 00:12:08
			beloved of Allah alaihi salam would make du'a

00:12:08 --> 00:12:09
			for them regularly.

00:12:15 --> 00:12:18
			That, Oh Allah, send your Magfirah upon my

00:12:18 --> 00:12:21
			people because indeed they do not understand.

00:12:22 --> 00:12:24
			When was the last time we stood and

00:12:24 --> 00:12:27
			sought forgiveness on behalf of those who had

00:12:27 --> 00:12:27
			wronged us?

00:12:29 --> 00:12:31
			And how often do we seek retribution

00:12:32 --> 00:12:34
			saying that you owe me something for the

00:12:34 --> 00:12:36
			way that you dared to treat me?

00:12:43 --> 00:12:45
			That the merciful one is merciful to those

00:12:45 --> 00:12:47
			who are merciful. Be merciful on the earth.

00:12:47 --> 00:12:49
			The one who is in the heavens will

00:12:49 --> 00:12:50
			be merciful to you.

00:12:50 --> 00:12:52
			This is the first hadith that we are

00:12:52 --> 00:12:54
			taught in pretty much any majlis, the hadith

00:12:54 --> 00:12:55
			of Rahmah.

00:12:56 --> 00:12:57
			And it leaves us behind

00:12:58 --> 00:13:00
			because we seek to push people down, we

00:13:00 --> 00:13:02
			seek to see them in a way where

00:13:02 --> 00:13:05
			we elevate ourselves by denigrating those who are

00:13:05 --> 00:13:07
			around us. You do not pray in the

00:13:07 --> 00:13:09
			way that I was taught to pray. You

00:13:09 --> 00:13:10
			do not practice in the way that I

00:13:10 --> 00:13:12
			was taught to practice. You do not fit

00:13:12 --> 00:13:14
			to my standards of what a Muslim is

00:13:14 --> 00:13:16
			meant to be like. Who are you to

00:13:16 --> 00:13:19
			qualify whether someone's Islam is good or not?

00:13:21 --> 00:13:24
			And especially where we are today, mercy has

00:13:24 --> 00:13:25
			to be our motivation.

00:13:27 --> 00:13:29
			If we do not seek to understand one

00:13:29 --> 00:13:31
			another and we seek to be offended by

00:13:31 --> 00:13:33
			every action that is taken from within the

00:13:33 --> 00:13:34
			community,

00:13:34 --> 00:13:37
			how will we expect people from outside of

00:13:37 --> 00:13:39
			it to understand anything about us?

00:13:40 --> 00:13:42
			If we don't talk to each other, why

00:13:42 --> 00:13:44
			would anybody else talk to us?

00:13:45 --> 00:13:47
			And mercy has to be that motivation.

00:13:48 --> 00:13:50
			Compassion has to be that motivation.

00:13:51 --> 00:13:53
			Not a sense of restitution,

00:13:53 --> 00:13:56
			not that I want retribution on my behalf,

00:13:56 --> 00:13:59
			not vengeance in any capacity, but motivated by

00:13:59 --> 00:14:02
			compassion with an air of foresight that gives

00:14:02 --> 00:14:03
			me an understanding

00:14:03 --> 00:14:06
			that if I want Allahu Zujah's mercy in

00:14:06 --> 00:14:08
			my life, when I go and stand in

00:14:08 --> 00:14:10
			front of him on that day, I need

00:14:10 --> 00:14:12
			to start acting with a sense of mercy

00:14:12 --> 00:14:13
			in this world.

00:14:14 --> 00:14:17
			The legacy of the prophet alaihis salaam was

00:14:17 --> 00:14:19
			someone who was such that when he was

00:14:19 --> 00:14:21
			challenged in the most fortuitous of situations,

00:14:22 --> 00:14:23
			he still consistently

00:14:24 --> 00:14:25
			displayed mercy.

00:14:26 --> 00:14:29
			Never did he cause pain to anyone purposely.

00:14:29 --> 00:14:31
			Never did he bring hardship on anyone.

00:14:32 --> 00:14:34
			Even from the time the beloved of Allah

00:14:34 --> 00:14:37
			alaihi salaam is born into this world, he

00:14:37 --> 00:14:39
			poses no pain to anyone.

00:14:39 --> 00:14:41
			His mother Amina says that when I gave

00:14:41 --> 00:14:44
			birth to this child, a light came from

00:14:44 --> 00:14:45
			me that went as far as Hashem.

00:14:46 --> 00:14:48
			And it was such a light pregnancy. It

00:14:48 --> 00:14:51
			was such a light birth. This was something

00:14:51 --> 00:14:53
			who when any other woman goes through those

00:14:53 --> 00:14:55
			pains, it is an action that is such

00:14:55 --> 00:14:58
			an hardship that it can be called nothing

00:14:58 --> 00:15:00
			but labor. And still at that time the

00:15:00 --> 00:15:03
			prophet alayhi wasalam is causing pain to no

00:15:03 --> 00:15:04
			one.

00:15:04 --> 00:15:06
			This is a man when he stands at

00:15:06 --> 00:15:09
			the battle of Uhud and his blessed face

00:15:09 --> 00:15:11
			is pierced and blood is dripping from it.

00:15:11 --> 00:15:13
			He seeks to jump to the ground and

00:15:13 --> 00:15:15
			catch that blood in his hand. And when

00:15:15 --> 00:15:18
			he is asked, why did you do this?

00:15:18 --> 00:15:20
			He says that those people, the ones who

00:15:20 --> 00:15:22
			would hurt him would not be able to

00:15:22 --> 00:15:24
			handle what would happen to them if this

00:15:24 --> 00:15:26
			blood hits that dirt.

00:15:27 --> 00:15:28
			This is a man when he goes to

00:15:28 --> 00:15:31
			the city of Thayath thinking the people will

00:15:31 --> 00:15:34
			welcome him rather than being met by any

00:15:34 --> 00:15:34
			embraces.

00:15:35 --> 00:15:37
			The people insult him in ways that we

00:15:37 --> 00:15:38
			can't even imagine.

00:15:39 --> 00:15:41
			In some of the narrations and some of

00:15:41 --> 00:15:43
			the hadith, it is said that what the

00:15:43 --> 00:15:44
			prophet was

00:15:44 --> 00:15:48
			wearing on his feet actually becomes stuck to

00:15:48 --> 00:15:50
			the soles because of the amount of blood

00:15:50 --> 00:15:52
			that is coming out from his feet. And

00:15:52 --> 00:15:54
			the thing just hardens around the bottom of

00:15:54 --> 00:15:55
			his foot.

00:15:56 --> 00:15:58
			And he goes to the outskirts of the

00:15:58 --> 00:16:00
			city now and finds rest under a tree.

00:16:01 --> 00:16:03
			And as he is sitting there, an angel

00:16:03 --> 00:16:05
			presents himself to him saying that, You Muhammad,

00:16:06 --> 00:16:08
			I am the angel of the mountains that

00:16:08 --> 00:16:11
			surround this city. If you command me to

00:16:11 --> 00:16:13
			do so, I will crush these people.

00:16:15 --> 00:16:17
			And the prophet doesn't say, yes go and

00:16:17 --> 00:16:19
			carry vengeance out on my behalf.

00:16:19 --> 00:16:22
			Yes go and carry retribution out on my

00:16:22 --> 00:16:23
			behalf.

00:16:24 --> 00:16:25
			But this is a man who is

00:16:27 --> 00:16:28
			a mercy to all of the worlds

00:16:29 --> 00:16:31
			and he says no let them be perhaps

00:16:31 --> 00:16:35
			the generations that come after they will understand.

00:16:36 --> 00:16:39
			This is a man who when a small

00:16:39 --> 00:16:41
			kitten falls asleep on the sleeve of his

00:16:41 --> 00:16:45
			arm rather than disturbing its slumber he cuts

00:16:45 --> 00:16:46
			the sleeve off of his shirt.

00:16:48 --> 00:16:50
			And where is our sense of mercy, our

00:16:50 --> 00:16:51
			sense of compassion,

00:16:52 --> 00:16:53
			where has it gone?

00:16:54 --> 00:16:57
			How many people have you cut off from

00:16:57 --> 00:16:59
			your life because you perceived that they have

00:16:59 --> 00:17:01
			wronged you in some way?

00:17:02 --> 00:17:04
			That you dare to act like this in

00:17:04 --> 00:17:05
			front of me?

00:17:07 --> 00:17:09
			You dare to present yourself like this in

00:17:09 --> 00:17:10
			front of me?

00:17:11 --> 00:17:13
			What are the actions that we are presenting

00:17:13 --> 00:17:14
			to our rub?

00:17:15 --> 00:17:16
			Who we will stand in front of one

00:17:16 --> 00:17:19
			day, and we will say, you rabbi by

00:17:19 --> 00:17:21
			your mercy give me entrance into your Jannah.

00:17:23 --> 00:17:25
			And at that time when he says to

00:17:25 --> 00:17:28
			us that my servant came to you seeking

00:17:28 --> 00:17:30
			you to be forgiving and merciful,

00:17:30 --> 00:17:32
			but you sought something else,

00:17:32 --> 00:17:34
			why should I be merciful to you now?

00:17:34 --> 00:17:35
			What will we say?

00:17:37 --> 00:17:39
			You seek to speak to me, but when

00:17:39 --> 00:17:41
			they sought to speak to you, you would

00:17:41 --> 00:17:43
			not speak to them, why should I respond

00:17:43 --> 00:17:44
			to you?

00:17:46 --> 00:17:48
			Where will be our sense of justice then

00:17:48 --> 00:17:49
			when we are standing in front of the

00:17:49 --> 00:17:50
			most just?

00:17:51 --> 00:17:53
			Where will be our sense of belonging, our

00:17:53 --> 00:17:55
			sense of ownership when all we have truly

00:17:55 --> 00:17:57
			is the way that we have treated others?

00:17:58 --> 00:18:00
			Will it be something that we want to

00:18:00 --> 00:18:01
			stand in front of Allah

00:18:01 --> 00:18:02
			with?

00:18:02 --> 00:18:04
			Or will it be something that we will

00:18:04 --> 00:18:06
			be embarrassed by and we will say You

00:18:06 --> 00:18:08
			Rabbi give us your magfirah and cover this

00:18:08 --> 00:18:09
			for us.

00:18:10 --> 00:18:11
			It is something that we have to think

00:18:11 --> 00:18:13
			about while we have the time to do

00:18:13 --> 00:18:14
			so.

00:18:14 --> 00:18:17
			In this community there is a woman who

00:18:17 --> 00:18:19
			is greatly respected by the name of Luisa,

00:18:20 --> 00:18:22
			and right now as we are praying our

00:18:22 --> 00:18:24
			Jummah prayers or we are about to, she

00:18:24 --> 00:18:27
			is going under she is about to undertake

00:18:27 --> 00:18:30
			a surgery that will be a great surgery

00:18:30 --> 00:18:31
			and she is in need of our Dua.

00:18:32 --> 00:18:34
			So as we pray this Jum'ah prayer, please

00:18:34 --> 00:18:37
			remember her in your dua that Allah Azzawajal

00:18:37 --> 00:18:39
			makes this a means of purification

00:18:39 --> 00:18:41
			in this world and makes it a means

00:18:41 --> 00:18:43
			of elevation in the next and that he

00:18:43 --> 00:18:46
			grants her great strength and health after the

00:18:46 --> 00:18:48
			surgery is completed and gives her the best

00:18:48 --> 00:18:50
			in this world and the best in the

00:18:50 --> 00:18:52
			next inshallah. Amen. May Allah

00:18:53 --> 00:18:55
			guide us and protect us. May He bless

00:18:55 --> 00:18:57
			us with knowledge that benefits us. May He

00:18:57 --> 00:18:59
			bless us with the tawfiq to understand and

00:18:59 --> 00:19:01
			implement that knowledge into our daily lives, and

00:19:01 --> 00:19:03
			may he guide and bless us all.
