And he stops at a place called a roja
or Aroha.
And there's a welder. He stops there.
And it's about halfway between ledger and Medina.
And he starts receiving Congratulations from all of the people who are coming to visit. And so people were leaving Medina to come and congratulate the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. And so while they were doing this,
one of the Assad who had participated in the battle,
he said, What are you congratulating us for?
We only met old bald men like camels awaiting slaughter. And then we slaughtered them.

as the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was receiving the Muslims, who were coming to congratulate him, one of them
who said even hold on, probably Allah right. He goes up to Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, and he says Yasuda Allah, we did not know that fading would have occurred.
Otherwise, we would have followed you, we would have come and fought with you. But we had thought that you had left
to chase down a caravan.

That this was why the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam left and Medina.

And so no one would go near anyone who had such a disease.
And so
no one could treat Ebola, they didn't even want to go near him. So he eventually ended up passing away.
And so this was the end of Ebola
only a few days after
the defeat of Quraysh. And that.
And so
his body
was left in his house for three days, until it started to decompose. Nobody wanted to bury him.
Why? Because people were afraid of this disease spreading onto them. And so
the people then they went up to the sons of a Buddha.
And they said to them, Have some shame, bury your father's body.
And so they said we're afraid of the business. So what they did is they went and they dragged the body of Abu Lahab next to a wall. And then they threw water over and dirt
and stones.
And that's how they ended up burning.
And so he didn't even have a grieve that was dug out for him.
And so this was the humiliation that he suffered
even after his death
and this was the result of the curse of Allah subhanho wa taala.
In verses that will be recited until the Day of Judgment,

to two important things to discuss here.

Regardless of Psalm it says one group was protecting Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wasallam. The second group was pursuing the enemy going after them as they're running away. And the third group, what were they doing? They were collecting the spoils of war.
The armor, the shields, the swords.
As Quraysh were falling one after the other, they were leaving all of this booty on the battlefield. So one group was collecting all of that. So about April Sonic says
the ones who were protecting Rasulullah sallallahu had him send them after the battle. They wanted their share of the booty. They said we were the ones protecting rasool Allah He sallallahu alayhi wa sallam so we deserve
and the ones who are pursuing after the enemy, they said that if it wasn't for us, there would be no spoils of war.
So we're the ones who should have it. And the third
they said that we are the ones who collected it. So it's ours.
And so they all dispute it. And they were fighting
over
the spoils of war. Those
are bad even Assam it says. So for this reason, Allah subhanho wa Taala reveals yes Aluna can and

So fear Allah, settle your affairs, and obey Allah and His Messenger, if you are indeed, believers, fear Allah, fix your affairs you guys are fighting,

reconcile with one another, and obey Allah and His Messenger, if indeed you are believers. Then after that Allah goes on to mention some of the qualities of true believers in the minimum.
The minimum the people of iman are only those in that Allah lists several characteristics.
Those who when they hear the remembrance of Allah, their hearts tremble. And when the Ayatollah recited
it increases them in Eman and those who establish their Salah and give and so on and so forth.
But the point here is
ALLAH SubhanA wa Tada settled the matter, when he said, the decision
of who to give
what concerning the spoils of war is for Allah and His messenger to decide. It's all all of the spoils were given to Mohamed Salah and it was in another narration
regarding Ibn assignment or the Allah when
he was asked about Surah to exile.
So he says,
These verses were revealed concerning us the Muslims are better
when we disputed over the issue of the spoils with one another, and we displayed bad manners concerning so Allah snatched it away from our hands and gave it all to the suit Allah He saw the loggerhead he was in love. And then he divided it among us equally.
So Allah subhanahu Metalla took it away from them.
And so that's why initially, Allah subhanho wa Taala did not answer
the question of how to distribute
this wealth,
to reprimand
the muscles
to tell them this is not the way to go about
it so Allah subhanho wa taala.
Instead of giving the answer he reprimands them, and he reminds them of his favor. After that the ayat go on to mention how the battle began.
And some of the miracles of allah
how Allah caused them to go to sleep, have a comfortable sleep the night before, how Allah sat down with rain, all those areas that we mentioned previously.
Allah goes on to mention his fevers upon the Muslims in the battle, what better
to remind them
that all of this wealth and this prize that you have gained today, it was not because of your own efforts,
but rather it was because of Allah. So to start disputing, stop fighting.
And then Allah subhanho wa Taala finally gives a ruling
regarding how the spoils of war should be divided and distributed. But when is this

If you truly believe in Allah and what we reveal to Our servant on that decisive it, Allah refers to it as Yeoman for on that decisive day when the two armies met and Allah is most capable of everything.
And so this is how the spoils were divided.

went to these categories that Allah mentions here
and the rest is now for
the army.
So 150 is basically only 20%. So that means 80% was then divided among the fighters.

the Sahaba had divided.
So the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam now he invaded the Sahaba for Shura, and this shows us that
whenever the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam
was not clear over a matter, he did not receive guidance from Allah.
He would consult the companions
and so he brought them together, and especially the seniors, the likes of Abu Bakr, and Umar Radi Allahu Allah. So he wanted to listen for everyone what to do with these prisoners.
So Abu Bakr Radi Allahu Mohammed, he said,
O Messenger of Allah.
These are our relatives.
They are our tribesmen.
Ask for a ransom
ask for failure.
This ransom it'll strengthen us. We'll get money.
Let them by their freedom.
And maybe
some of them if they stay in our hands.
Eventually they'll become Muslim.
Then the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam asked

And he mentioned one of his relatives.
And he said, Give him to me so that I can straight his neck

And let him strike his neck
and hand over so and so to him that
he was his brother.
Were one of his relatives and have Hamza to strike his neck. That way, Allah will know that we are not cowards and we don't show leniency and softness towards them should he call these men are their chiefs. They are their leaders. They deserve to die.
In another narration,
another one of the companions speaks Abdullah in Rwanda.

And so everyone was giving their opinion on what to do with these captives of work.
And they couldn't all agree on what to do with them.
Once again, they were disputing.
So when the Prophet salallahu alayhi wa sallam heard what they had to say, he said, Allah softens the hearts of men concerning him
so that they become softer than soft.
And Allah hardens the hearts of men, so that they become harder than stone.
He turned to Abu Bakr and he said you Abu Bakr or like Ibrahim Ali salaam who said for men tibia I need her in the room many women are sworn in for in a cover photo of Rahim.
Oh Allah Whoever follows me that he is one of me. But whoever disobeyed me that indeed you are forgiving and merciful.

mutare had been hiding the profits on the one hand, it was sort of says, If a motor maybe it was still alive. And he talked to me about and look at what the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam used to describe the captors. How Allah enacting
these filthy captives.
He said they're filthy. The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, if
both are emitted, and it was still alive, and he spoke to me about them, meaning he tried to bargain for the release,
then I would have released them for him. I would have released them for him.
And so the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was basically trying to say
that he was grateful to Animoto in ID because of
you know what he did for him sallallahu alayhi wasallam and the Muslims when they were weak in Mecca.
So what we can see from this is that Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was inclined to adopt the opinion of Abu Bakr Robbie along right, and he was willing to accept ransom
the following day.
Remember, Tog, Rafi a woman says, I went to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam early in the morning
he was sitting with Abu Bakr
and they were crying.
I asked all messenger of Allah tell me why you and your companion are weeping.
If I find a reason to weep,
then I will do so. But if I don't, then I'll pretend to weep at your weeping
Rasul Allah He sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said,
I am weeping at how your companions proposed to me that I accept ransom
your punishment for doing so, was then shown to me
by this tree, so basically there was a tree close by the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam here he was saying that
Allah subhana wa Tada was not happy with the decision of the Muslims to simply accept ransom and let all of these members of courage for free
and if the prophets of salaam had
done this, then here is the punishment
for having done so.
Why was why not happy?
Allah subhanahu wa Tada tells us himself
in Sudetenland.
Maracana, Lena Yun, na Hakuna Allahu Aswan. Had you seen a film on
it is not fit for a profit that he should take captives until he has thoroughly slaughtered his enemies in the land.
To the doona out of the dunya wala who you read all
along as he's on Hakeem you the believers, desire the dunya the commodities of this world
and Allah desires the Hereafter for you, that little for you.
And Allah is Almighty Allah

had it not been for a prior decree of Allah, you would have certainly been disciplined, punished with a tremendous punishment for whatever ransom that you would have taken.
So, these two verses,
they tell us two things.
The first is that Allah says that rasool Allah He sallallahu alayhi wa sallam should not have accepted random meaning what
it means that he should have executed
that would have been more pleasing to Allah
to execute the prisoners. Why?
Because Allah says it is not fit for any profit,
that he should take captives until he has thoroughly slaughtered his enemies in the land at your cleaner fill up.
And so, here we have a newly formed state
that needs to show its strength in the beginning.
Asking for ransom shows a weakness on the part of the Muslims
compared to
if they had
executed
However, Allah subhanahu wa Tada says, in the following verse that Allah has made asking ransom Hala
therefore what the Muslims did was permissible. Otherwise they would have been punished.
Then Allah subhanho wa Taala says, For Kulu minerals like him to halal and Baba, what up Allah in Allah, Allah otter Rahim. Now enjoy what you have taken
the spoils of war.
These captains, the money that you will get for their freedom. Allah says for it is lawful and good. It is halal. And it is pleading
and fear Allah surely Allah is all forgiving, Most Merciful.
So this is what ended up
being the decree of Allah and the decision of a law concerning
the captains of war.
Now, next week, what we'll do is we'll continue, and we'll mention
who the characters were,
and what ends up happening to each one of them.
So what we will see is how the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam did not treat them all equally.
Instead, there were some who he executed,
while others, he allowed them to ransom themselves.
And others, he let them go free without even any ransom. And so we'll talk about that next week in sha Allah as we move on, to the lessons that we learn from this part of the story of the Battle of Edo.
And so the first lesson that we learned
Allah subhanahu Attallah, Hamid
Romina spoils of war to be permissible for the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam exclusively
among all of the prophets.
There was no prophet before him, who was allowed
to take the spoils of war.
And by extension,
Allah made it hello for this one.
exclusively.
There was no owner, Muslim Ummah before our Ummah, who is allowed to enjoy the spoils of war. The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam says, in a hadith in Sahih, Muslim, I had been given five things which were not given to anyone before meaning and profit before. And then he lists the five. Among them, he says,
the spoils of war had been made a lawful for me, and they were never made lawful for anyone before.
And so this is one of the unique characteristics of our owner.
That distinguishes us from all the previous nations. The second lesson is that Allah subhanho wa Taala reprimanded the believers for their desire for the dunya when they saw the wealth
and they started fighting over it.
This is because
The whole objective behind legislating Jihad was not for this
as opposed to those, the kuffaar
who fight specifically for that
all other nations and civilizations in history until this very day, why do they fight wars?
For
for money for land
to acquire all of the resources
that are in the hands of others.
But this is not why Allah subhanahu Italia legislative Jihad visa vie the law.
And so this was an example of how Allah subhanho wa Taala was giving Tobia
to the believers.
And so the first verses of Surah two empfang focused on what
focused on teaching the Mujahid dune to have Taqwa
because you cannot fight in the path of Allah without Taqwa
what is the very first thing that Allah says is Aluna cannula, anti greed and follow the law he will also
and then Allah says, telco Allah, fear Allah have the Taqwa of Allah. The second will also be who that they include and amend that which is between you fix your affairs,
you started to dispute you're starting to fight among one another, reconcile.
Thus, the Muslims have to have unity. The Mujahideen cannot be divided and disputing among themselves, because this will lead to a division in the ranks.
And under third, what I'll tell you Allah,
what are pseudo and obey Allah and His messenger. So there needs to be discipline among them which are hidden.
They have to obey instructions from their leader.
So these are three essential qualities that a Mujahid feasability law should have taqwa,
unity,
and obedience.
But then it doesn't stop there. Allah then outlines
the characteristics that the true believers must have.
In the meanwhile,
who are the believers? Only those who and then Allah LIS, as we mentioned, those who went Allah has mentioned their hearts tremble when the ayat
they hear them it increases the Eman those who establish their Salah and they give hola Erica Hoon Muna.
Allah ends by saying they are the true believers.
And so what is Allah doing here?
He's reprimanding the believers.
He's basically
reminding them
that the spoils of war the denier that you are fighting over.
This is not why I told you to fight.
You jihad, FISA vilella
This is secondary, this comes later.
So do not lose your focus. Notice in these ayat, nowhere does Allah answer the question of
who the spoils of war should go to, or how it should be divided. There is no mention of it until as mentioned, until much much later in the Surah.
And so the reason why I reveal these Ayad in the beginning of the surah, in this way, was to put things into perspective and have the Muslims to prioritize
Deen over dunya
and akhira over the dunya the third lesson that we learn is
showing a gesture of goodwill to those who deserve.
We see this
in a statement of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam at a low time, isn't it?
How he said if he was alive,
then and he came and he spoke to me about these filthy captains, I would have freed them for him. And so this shows us that Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam
would act appropriate
appropriately with different people. He wouldn't treat everyone the same.
He would deal with good people in a good way. And he would deal with evil people accordingly.
As you can see next week
when the Prophet salallahu alayhi wa sallam handpicks
among the 70 prisoners,
he calls them out to be executed.
Why them and why not the others? We'll see next week why, but one of the reasons is because of how evil
these particular people were, that there's nothing better for them than for them to be killed.
This also shows us that we as Muslims should not be extreme in being incapable of showing anything other than prude brutality towards the kuffar.
While not acting in such a way, on the other hand, going to the other extreme, and not acting in such a way that we are only interested in appeasing and pleasing the bar.
And so, there has to be a balance
between the two. But Muslims should judge each situation and each person and act in
a method, which is considered wise, according to the situation.
And we should overcome our emotions, and we should stop being worried about what other people think.
So we should do what is right, even if
even if it will cause us to be blamed.
And so the very definition of Hekla
of wisdom is
what are che if he handed him or female really,
to put each place to put each thing in its proper place.
So sometimes
you act in a kind way with a certain person who is a caliphate who doesn't believe in
other times you have to show harshness
and that is what we call wisdom. To put each thing in its proper place.
It's all a sort of lifestyle. Allahu alayhi wa sallam said that if this man was alive, he would have released the prisoners of war for the fourth lesson that we learn
is the ruling regarding the spoils of war.
It is as follows according to this verse, that we mentioned and sort of,
it is to be divided into five
and 1/5 goes to
Allah,
His messenger
so 1/5 which is 20%.
This 20% is divided into five portions
what they refer to as homeless,
a fifth
so you have the entire spoils of war divided into five, a fifth of it, which is 20% is then further divided into five. So that means 4% 4% goes to Allah 4% goes to Rasul Allah salAllahu alayhi wa sallam 4% goes to the Prophet near relatives,
and quarterback 4% goes to the orphans and the needy. And the remaining 4% goes to the traveler, the needy traveler.
Now, the 8% so
4% for Allah we said, and 4% for, but assuta loss also, after the death of Rasul the one, it would be the ruler of the muscles.
So, this 4% For the Imam of the Muslims and the 4% for Allah, combine it, it's 8%
What does the Imam or the leader do with it? Basically, he invested in anything for the betterment of Islam, such as building massage or building roads or anything that the stick means it is up to the Imam of the Muslims to distribute that 8%
As for the remaining we mentioned where it goes, Okay, so that leaves us with 80% How is the 80% divided? It's Dubai is divided and split equally among the fighters.
But the foot soldier
he gets one share
and the horseman he receives three shares
so this is how it's divided
because the one who's on his horse he obviously
if inflict more harm on the enemy,
so he deserves more.
So this is how
Allah and His Messenger sallallahu alayhi wa sallam
ruled regarding the spoils of war. Finally,
the ruling concerning the prisoners of war,
the captains of war, the PIO W's, it is up to the Imam
to determine their fate.
So we can see from the ayat
in the Quran
that Allah subhanahu Bucha Allah gave the option in Surah to Muhammad Allah subhanho wa Taala says, for either an OP to Larina Cafaro for dorable record.
So when you meet the disbelievers in battle, strike their next Hector either at home to move home or should do to attack
until when you have thoroughly slaughtered them in battle. And now you are victorious. And you have these captives. Allah says then bind them firmly.
bind to their hands firmly.
For in men that I do well enough EDA, Hector Toba, horrible Oh, Zara later on, by their freedom as an act of grace,
meaning freedom without taking any money or feed and
by Ransom until the war comes to an end. So the ruling concerning the prisoners of war in our Shediac is that the Imam decides to either
execute them.
Because this is what the Prophet salAllahu alayhi wasallam did in the Battle of budget, as we're going to see next week, he executed some of them.
Or
he has a choice to free them without ransom. And this also happened in the Battle of whether
or he can free them with taking ransom. And this also happened in the battle.
So either kill them, freedom without ransom, freedom with ransom. And the fourth option that the Imam has is to take some of them as slaves to enslave them. Where does this come from? This comes later on.
This comes later on.
When the Muslims were, were victorious over the hood of El Medina. And so the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam,
he asked Saudi bin Mohammed on the ground what to do with him.
And so sad proposed that we enslave them, we take them as slaves, making their women and their children, strings and apostles, I don't approve of it. So these are the four options that tecnam has. And so what we learned from this is that we Muslims, we have our own Sharia,
we have our own laws, we have our own ways of going about doing things. But unfortunately, today we are in a position of weakness.
And we're not able to implement our own laws
that Allah and His Messenger have decided upon. Instead that we have to follow the rules of others.
And so we Muslims, we have our own Geneva Conventions. We don't need to follow anyone else's.
The Sharia has guidance for us Muslims until the last day
and whenever we do have the power to do things our own way than we need to.
So these are the lessons that we learn from this part of the battle better inshallah hotel next week. We'll continue and mention what happens to the captives. And we'll conclude with
the consequences or
the results from the battle a better
