What do you know?
What

we come to you live from mustard, Abu hurayrah
at a very, very sad time, with only a few nights before this very, very valuable guest arrives the month of Ramadan
at a time when our massages are empty
at a time when
we won't be able to spend
this month of Ramadan, like we have become accustomed to every year as a community together at this location here at Abu huraira and all of our other masajid around the world.
And so
all of us are feeling sad.
And this is actually a good sign.
Because
this is how the believer is supposed to feel.
This is how the believer is supposed to feel
before the arrival of the month of Ramadan. And so the believer awaits the month of Ramadan like someone dear, who has gone missing
someone dear to you who has gone missing
and so you become concerned of his absence.
And then when he's about to arrive you become happy.
You become really really happy that he's about to come
and you receive him as a very honorable guests.
Why is this the case with regards to the believer
because the believer understands the value of this month.
The believer understands the value of the month of Ramadan
that it is the month of mercy.
It is the month in which the gates of Geneva are open up wide open.
It is a month in which the gates of * fire are closed shut. It's the month in which a loss of Hanna who had to highlight every single night. He has people who he has saved from the hellfire. It is the month
of fasting. It is a month of the Quran. It is a month of very bad it is a month of Eliane. It is a month of a dua, it is a month of giving and spending generously.
And so this
is an opportunity
that a believer cannot waste. It's an opportunity
that you can't let go of.
Especially in the times in which we are living in today. times of uncertainty. There were those who were with us last year last Ramadan
who fasted with us.
We saw them in the masjid together, praying with us
breaking his heart together. And today they're not with us.
Did they expect not to see another Ramadan? No.
Just like me and you.
And so what if Allah subhanho wa Taala has written for you that this will be your last Ramadan
if you knew that, if you knew that this would be your last Ramadan.
The question is how would you prepare for it?
How would you prepare for Ramadan? that perhaps this is your last Ramadan
and so this is what we want to talk about today. Preparing for the month of Ramadan. We have only a few days left before this
month comes. And so how should me and you prepare for this?
for this opportunity, the opportunity of a lifetime, it could be your last Ramadan.
And so the month of Ramadan is an opportunity and a chance to recharge our email
and opportunity to soften
our hearts and hearts. And so all of us we noticed this, we notice how when the month of Ramadan comes, our E man changes
are a man becomes charged up, our hearts become softened.
The question is what is the secret behind that?
Why does this change happen?
The reality is it's not really a secret.
It's not really a secret. The formula is very simple.
It's not complicated. It's not rocket science. It's a very, very simple formula.
The more input, the more output.
The more you put in,
the more you're going to get back.
The more you give it to Allah Subhana who with data of your time of your effort, the more Eman Allah subhanho wa Taala will give to you.
And that's why
it's one of the principles
of Ellucian novalja. Concerning the concept of a man What is a man
imagine is something that increases and decreases,
increases with acts of obedience
and with good deeds, and it decreases with acts of disobedience and sin.
The more
good deeds you do, the more the bad you do, the more your Eman will rise.
And the less you do rather the more sins that you do. The more disobedience that you're involved in.
The lower your Eman will go. It's that simple.
But now let's look at outside of the month of Ramadan. In the month of Ramadan, we notice our Eman going up. But what happens throughout the year
what happens is
that
we no longer put that time and effort
in so the output is also less the input is less so the output is less.
The less time we end up giving to Allah subhanho wa Taala therefore, the less he man, Allah subhanho wa Taala will gift us
and so if you were to add all of the minutes
outside of the month of Ramadan, add the minutes
of your five daily sauna walk for example,
including the Sooners with each Salah it probably won't add up to more than an hour. And that's if you pray your Salah and you lengthen it and prolong it
and sometimes for most of us that's all the salaat that we're doing.
How much Qur'an are we reciting outside of the month of Ramadan?
How many acts of obedience are we doing outside of the month of Ramadan?
And so you realize that
this is our state outside of the month of Ramadan.
And so this is why we complain of a lack of Eman. This is why we complain that our Eman is going down. This is why when we make dua to Allah subhanho wa Taala our do has don't get answered.
This is why we face the problems in our lives that we face. This is why we get hit with calamities, and then we don't know how to react and we don't know how to deal with them.
This is why when
we look at something haraam, it's difficult to lower our games. This is why when shaitan calls us
to come get her on
It's so easy to fall into his traps. Why? Because we did not put in the effort, nor did we give the time to Allah subhanho wa Taala that we do in the month of Ramadan, and therefore we find a huge difference.
And so as we only have a few days left, less than a week until
the month of Ramadan arrives, now is the time to prepare. Now is the time to get ready. If you want to achieve success in anything in this dunya what do you do?
You spend days and nights preparing for it.
And so if you have an exam coming up
and you want to make sure that you Ace This exam, what would you do? You wouldn't come the night before and start studying No,
you would start preparing well in advance.
If you have a certain game or a certain competition that you have to go into,
participate in
what do you do you train
days in advance weeks in advance?
And so why is it that we should that we don't show the same level of interest in preparing ourselves
for the ultimate success and that is the success of the Acura.
Success in this dunya is limited to this dunya
and that's why in the Quran when Allah subhanahu wa taala talks about those who are successful,
not once
did Allah refer to the success in the dunya
but rather wherever Allah mentioned success in the Quran, it refers to the success of the Acura Hellmuth Li hoon.
The Mosley Hoon, those who are successful.
They are and then Allah mentions their descriptions in the in the beginning of sort of middle.
And so the most deprived people are those
who
received the month of Ramadan.
And they enter into the month of Ramadan
while in a state of disobedience to Allah subhanahu wa Tada, while everyone else
is preparing, and receiving the month of Ramadan,
with acts of obedience, and the most disadvantaged of people are those who lose,
who lose in a market
in which anyone who makes a sale, he's going to profit.
The most deprived and the most disadvantaged of people
are those who lose in a market
in which
anyone who makes a sale, even the smallest of sales, he's gonna profit. And this is the month of Ramadan, where even a little bit will be multiplied, and you will see the reward of it.
And so how do we prepare ourselves for the month of Ramadan?
Firstly,
make the firm determination from now.
Make the firm determination from now
that you're going to take advantage of this month of Ramadan. And you're not going to let it go.
Make the firm determination from now. Because what you want to do is from today, you want to start mentally preparing yourself.
And so when you are determined about something
let's take the example of the exam. You know you have an exam coming up in this many days and you're determined you're going to pass this exam you're going to ace it.
It's on your mind. You're mentally prepared. You're keep on thinking about it day in and day out. And you're working on it. And so this determination we need to build it within ourselves from now. Why? So that when it comes, we get off to a headstart.
Imagine
the gates of mercy are about to be opened
as the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam told us in the Hadith, that when the month of Ramadan comes, the gates of Allah mercy are opened, the gates of Genesis are opened and so you don't need to go knocking
On these gates in order for them to open,
a law tells us the process all sudden tells us that they're open for us.
And so you don't need to go knocking on them asking for them to be opened. All you need is a determination to walk forward and enter those gates.
That's all you need.
Don't wait for someone to come and carry you in.
Be determined and make the intention that you yourself are going to move
and put the effort in when these gates are opened,
and definitely don't be among those
who when these gates are opened, and the gates of Geneva are opened wide before him.
Instead, he turns around and walks the other way.
Even worse, he goes through the gates of * fire knocking,
asking for them to open so he can enter.
These are those
who when the month of Ramadan comes, their habits don't change. They are the way they were before the month of Ramadan.
And they continue in that life of sin as they were before the month of Ramadan.
And so the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said
on the very first night of the month of Ramadan,
the Shailene are shackled, are locked up. The jinns are restrained. The gates of * are shocked.
And the gates of Paradise are opened. And then a caller calls out. Yeah does a yell Hi, rockville
oduor have good come near. This is your time. Why are Dahlia Sherry oxyr
and Oh, do we have evil, now is the time to stop.
And still remember that as long as you make the intention from today from now, and the strong determination with an honest and sincere heart then Allah subhanahu wa tada will aid you when the month of Ramadan starts. As long as you have that determination in your heart, then Allah Subhana who will will aid you.
Secondly,
due to Allah subhanho wa Taala with a sincere heart, drum to him
in repentance, now is the time now is the time
to repent to Allah subhanho wa Taala to turn back to Allah subhanho wa Taala
and make that determination
that from this Ramadan onwards
I'm going to open up a new chapter in my life, and I'm going to stop committing the sin. The only way to change your life is by turning to Allah first and foremost, and that is in Toba
in repentance, and that's why the month of Ramadan is the month of October.
It is the month of October, the month in which people turn back to Allah subhanho wa Taala
after having accumulated all of these sins, and that's why Allah subhanho wa Taala gives us these opportunities throughout the year. The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam told us that from once a lot to the next is expiation of sins. From one Juma to the next is expiation of things, and from one Ramadan to the next is expiation of Satan's these.
These times and these opportunities are an opportunity to turn back to a loss of Hannah who would Tana asking his forgiveness and
turning to him in repentance and that's why the month of Ramadan is the month of forgiveness.
The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said mon sama Ravana amen and YT saben woofie Rolla Houma Taka dama means
that whoever fast the month of Ramadan with a man with faith with belief and looking forward to the reward from Allah, then all of his previous sins are forgiven. And the same man karma Ramadan, Eman and the seven. The one who also praise Kellyanne, the same thing all of his previous sins will will be forgiven woman comma Laila to Eman and YT sadden, who fear Allah who made them be the same with the one who
Praise, standing up. I'm on Laila, Laila toccata. And so from all of these Hadith, we see that the month of Ramadan is an opportunity to have our sins forgiven.
And so, if you don't have your sins forgiven
in this month of Ramadan,
because you decide to persist in committing those sins, and you fail to turn back to Allah subhanho wa Taala in repentance in a time of repentance, then it's unlikely that you will turn to Allah in repentance at any other time of the year.
And so the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam he said, in a hadith
May he be humiliated?
May he be humiliated, the one who Ramadan enters, and then Ramadan leaves without his sins being forgiven. In another narration of the Hadith, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam tells us that Jubilee rally Salaam came and said these words, and so the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, I mean,
and so the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, do I, he said, I mean to do
that was made by Jubilee rally his Salaam
for the one
who enters Ramadan and leaves
without having his sins forgiven. Why? Because he persisted in his sins and He failed to turn to Allah
in repentance certainly
prepared prepare for the coming of the month of Ramadan
by learning and studying what you need to know about
everything about the month of Ramadan and you're a bad in this month
especially the can the rulings concerning fasting.
So fasting, this is the month of Ramadan, the month of fasting.
We need to learn the rulings concerning this third pillar of Islam
and so we need to know
You know, when does the fast begin when does it end?
What breaks my fast What does not break my fast?
Am I from those who has a concession
to not fast this month? If I don't fast this month, what do I have to do? All of these are rulings that we need to learn and we should not be ignorant of. Likewise, the rulings pertaining to Korea Malaysia and Salatu Torah We especially now in the circumstances that we're in today, where we won't be praying salata Tara we or pm in our massage it and so perhaps you will have to lead your family in Salatu. Tara we have home. So do you know the rulings pertaining to Inanna?
Being the Imam Do you know the ruling? Are you allowed to to recite from the must have or are you not allowed?
What if your lead is not perfect? Like these are all rulings that we need to learn? And we shouldn't be ignorant of. Likewise with regards to recitation of the Quran
Am I allowed to recite the Quran without ooh?
Am I allowed to hold the must have without whoo? Am I allowed to read from the must have the digital must have in my phone without Lulu?
If I am a woman and I am on my menses on my period, am I allowed to recite the Quran or not? These are all rulings. And so every single one of us if we don't know the answers to these questions, then it means that we need to start now before the month of Ramadan arrives to learn to learn these rulings. Likewise, regarding giving sadaqa and many people they give their Zakat at this time. What are the rulings pertaining to the cap and so on and so forth. Fourthly,
in preparation for the month of Ramadan, what what we should do is make for ourselves a plan,
a timetable a schedule that we will follow. And so with many of us at home, in isolation this month of Ramadan, we have a lot of time on our hands. But we may get busy with work from home and attending to our friends.
Family and so on and so forth. And so, in order for us to
benefit from this month, we should make a schedule for ourselves that, for example, I'm going to start my day, like this. After school, after praying salado fudger, maybe I'll get some rest, then I'll get up at this time every day. And maybe I'll finish some work that I have to finish from home, then from this time to this time,
I'm going to recite the Quran. From this time to this time, I'm going to read a book, from this time to this time, I'm going to listen to a lecture, and so on and so forth, plan out your day. Because if you don't do that, then the days will go by one after the other. And you're going to see that the outcome is going to be very little, if not zero.
fifthly make sure
that
before the month of Ramadan arrives, you get
you get outstanding tasks out of the way.
Many of us we have different things that we have to get done.
But we don't get it done. And then the month of Ramadan comes and we're trying to get these things done.
And then we make excuses. Oh, why didn't you recite the Quran today? Why didn't you pray a lot to turn away tonight? Oh, because I had to do this. And I had to do that. So why didn't you get it done? Before the month of Ramadan.
And so the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said to ajil Hamad Al Yomi,
don't delay
what you can get done today of your work. Don't delay it for tomorrow, get it done and out of the way. Especially given the fact that the month of Ramadan is as Allah says, a yam and ma do that. a limited number of days, it's only a limited number of days, 29 or 30 days, take advantage of each and every single one of these days. Because you're going to see the month of Ramadan is going to start and all of a sudden, it's already over.
Five Finally,
in conclusion,
I want to remind
us about something very, very important. And I want you to take this message to your relatives,
your friends, your neighbors, your Muslim friends, your Muslim neighbors, your Muslim colleagues, because I'm sure
almost all of us know Muslims
who
neglect the month of Ramadan, and even neglect
the obligation of fasting the month of Ramadan. It's a reality. It's an unfortunate reality. These are many Muslims out there who don't pray who don't fast,
even though these are the pillars and the foundations of our Deen.
And so
whoever breaks his fast in the month of Ramadan
without a legitimate excuse for breaking the fast
then this is considered a major sin in Islam. If you break your fast intentionally
without having a valid and legitimate excuse to do so.
So how about the one who does not fast to begin with?
How about the one who doesn't fast to begin with?
The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, and I want us all to picture this hadith. It was Hadith in which he's narrating a dream. And so the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam He said
it was a very long Hadith and he saw different people being punished in different ways.
And so he said, until I was at a mountain, where I heard loud voices. And so I asked, What are these voices?
It was said, this is the howling of the people of the hellfire. Then I was taken to a different place. And I saw people hanging from their hamstrings, with the corners of their mouths torn and dripping with blood. So I said Who are these? So it was said these were the people who broke their fast
Before it was a proper time to do so.
And the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said,
Whoever breaks one, whoever, whoever breaks one days fast of Ramadan, without an authorized permission from Allah, He will never be able to redeem it with another day's fast, meaning he won't be able to make it up another day and say I've made up for it. The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, even if he was too fast until eternity, this doesn't mean that he doesn't have to make up his fast Yes, he does. But the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is displaying and explaining the magnitude of the sin.
And the scholars they have unanimously agreed concerning the ones who don't fast the month of Ramadan. enam is their hobby, Rahim Allah, He says, it is well established among the believers, that whoever does not fast in Ramadan without a valid excuse, then he is worse than a Zani an adulterer or someone who is drunk.
He says the scholars don't whether he whether he is even a Muslim at all. And they regard him as a heretic and shows on a Sunday maintaining a rock in the hallway. He says, if a person does not fast in Ramadan, knowing that it is haram, but he makes it handle for himself not too fast, then he must be executed. And if he does it, because he is a sinner, meaning he doesn't believe that this is halal. He doesn't make it permissible for himself. He knows what he's doing it around.
Then he says he must be punished for not fasting. So let us to not be among the neglected among those who are neglectful during this month of Ramadan. And let us remind our Muslim brothers and sisters about the sanctity of the month of Ramadan. It's a very, very sacred time.
And by not fasting, you are basically ignoring the sanctity of this month that Allah has given to this month, just like someone goes to a sanctified place a sacred place, like Mecca, in front of the Kaaba and does immoral sins. Likewise, the month of Ramadan, it's a sacred time, a time to respect and honor by obeying the laws of Hannah who were to Allah and fasting this month of Ramadan, remind our Muslim brothers and sisters about this. And let us prepare for the arrival of the month of Ramadan, receiving it with strong determination, fasting, praying, performing various acts of the bad day, and constantly turning to Allah subhanho wa Taala in repentance and making a lot of
making a lot of dua to Allah subhanho wa Taala to not only make us reach the month of Ramadan but to reach it
with a man and with well being while we are in the best of health and by praying to Allah subhanho wa Taala to once again just like he has opened up the gates of His mercy and the gates of Jenna on the first day of Ramadan. Let us also ask Allah subhanho wa Taala to open up the gates and the doors of his houses on Earth. The masajid We ask Allah subhanho wa Taala to do that in Who will you Delica will party Riley, also Lola who has Salah, Bina Mohammed while early he was so happy he ultramarine
