Where is the qiblah?

That way, right? Okay. Where is it? I

don't mean this way. Where do we pray

towards? The Kaaba.

Where was it before?

Yes. Be it Al Maqdis. The Prophet salallahu

alayhi wa sallam after he migrated from Makkah

to Madinah.

The first 16 to 17 months,

approximately,

he used to pray towards Baytul Maqdis.

And the prophet he used

to wait for Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala to

send down revelation,

to inform him and to instruct him that

you pray towards

the kabana.

Because that's where he loved to pray towards.

So the prophet

was given that afterwards.

And this has a lot of

different gems and benefits behind why that even

took place.

But from the greatest of them is that

the believer, the true believer is the one

who even if he doesn't understand

the wisdoms behind why Allah does things, he

accepts them. He says. He accepts it. And

He listens and He obeys.

Before

the prayer, you are allowed to speak inside

the prayer. Do you guys know that?

Before it was abrogated.

When you would pray, you are allowed to

speak.

Inside.

You could pray.

That was abrogated.

How many raka'at are they? 4. There used

to be 2 before

that got abrogated.

And they were moved to being 4. If

you travel, now you make it 2. But

if you're a resident, you make it 4.

All of those things were abrogated. And the

first verse we spoke about, Allah discusses that.

Manan sukhmin aytin awnunziha nati wikhayin minhaa o

migliya. We don't abrogate a ruling or a

verse from the Quran except

we bring one that is better

or one that is similar to it. So

Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, he changed that direction

and he changed it to the Kaaba.

And that verse discusses it. The prophet salallahu

alayhi wa salam is told, okay now,

move your face towards the Kaaba. Don't face

Baytul Muqdis. As for everybody else who's praying,

follow Muhammad in that as well,

and face the Kaaba.
